am making属于“be+v.ing”结构,属于现在进行时。make sb.sth.=make sth.for sb.,用作动词短语,意为“为某人制作某物”。
My brother is making a birthday present for my mom.我的哥哥正在为妈妈制作一个生日礼物。

【辨析】　when和what time
when作为疑问副词,引导特殊疑问句,意为“什么时候;何时”。回答 when 引导的从句,不一定指出具体的时间点,可用 tomorrow,next month 等。而回答 what time 引导的问句,则必须说出具体的时间点,如 at two o’clock,at five past ten 等。

3.My grandfather forgets his birthday every year.?
forget通常指忘记具体的东西(如名字、号码、地址等)。
【拓展】　forget to do sth.意为“忘记要去做某事”,这里不定式所表示的行为还没有发生,强调的是要发生。forget doing sth.意为“忘记做过某事”,这里动名词所表示的行为已经发生过。
