Recently
whenever
I
turned
on
my
computer
or
my
mobile
phone,
news
about
the
great
effect
of
Hurricane
Harvey
(哈维飓风)on
thousands
of
people
caught
my
eye.
I
saw
many
unfortunate
events.
However,
there
was
also
lots
of
bright
news
that
showed
the
goodness
of
mankind.
As
a
reporter,
I
reported
many
human-interest
stories
when
doing
my
job,
That’s
why
the
story
about
the
guys
in
the
bakery(面包店)caught
my
eye.
When
the
workers
at
a
Mexican
bakery
chain
in
Houston
were
trapped
inside
the
building
for
two
days,
they
didn't
sit
there
feeling
sorry
for
themselves.
They
used
their
time
wisely
after
flooding
caused
by
Hurricane
Harvey.
While
waiting
for
the
eventual
rescue
that
came
on
Monday
morning,
the
four
workers
decided
to
make
as
many
loaves
of
bread
as
possible
for
people
around
the
neighborhood.
They
talked
to
their
manager
about
their
plan
over
the
phone
and
the
manager
agreed.
The
flood
water
rose
in
the
street
outside.
They
took
advantage
of
their
emergency
power
supply
to
bake
bread.
They
used
more
than
4,200
pounds
of
flour(面粉)to
create
hundreds
of
loaves
and
sheets
of
sweet
bread.
Although
the
water
kept
rising,
they
continued
baking
to
help
more
people.
By
the
time
the
manager
managed
to
get
to
them,
they
had
made
so
much
bread
that
they
took
the
loaves
to
lots
of
emergency
centers
across
the
city
for
people
affected
by
the
floods.
The
store
manager,
Brian
Alvarado,
told
The
Independent,
“They've
done
more
than
they
should
have
done.
And
what
they
had
done
has
lit
a
light
for
people.
I
feel
lucky
to
have
them
work
in
the
bakery.”
Whenever
a
disaster
occurs,
nobody
should
feel
forlorn.
Instead,
we
should
stay
hopeful
and
take
positive
action
to
save
ourselves
and
help
others.
Our
acts
of
kindness
will
make
a
big
difference
to
the
people
in
the
world
as
well
as
the
world
itself.
4.

story
in
the
bakery
draw
the

job.
B.
It
made
him/her
interested
in
baking.
C.
It
could
bring
him/her
much
money.
D.
It
showed
the
goodness
of
mankind.
5.

did
the
guys
in
the
bakery
do
in

were
experienced.

were

but

7.

In

Professor

the
Netherlands
is
to

“Dutch

The

the

choice.
Actually

because
we

For
the

you
see
they

He
added
“We

they

We
shouldn’t

If
we

Dutch

We

Actually,
English

(因此,荷兰是世界上英语水平最高的非母语国家之一,仅次于瑞典。)由此可推断上文说的是荷兰大学已经普遍使用英语,但是下文进行了转折,指出不是所有人都对此感到满意。故that指代上文的意思,即:荷兰大学广泛使用英语。故选D。
【10题详解】
细节理解题。根据第八段“He

they

we
are.
We
shouldn’t
use
a

If
we

English

Dutch

(他还说:“我们的英语并不像他们想象的那么好。我们不应该在教育中使用较弱的语言。如果我们在高等教育中只使用英语,荷兰语就会变得更糟。我们增加了一点英语,失去了一点荷兰语。我们不能同时掌握荷兰语和英语。”)可知,全英语课程可能会削弱荷兰语的掌握。故选A。
【11题详解】
推理判断题。根据文章最后一段“Dutch
is
our
mother
tongue.
Our
culture
is
based
on
Dutch,”
says
Annette
de
Groot,
a
lecturer
at
the
University
of
Amsterdam.
“What
would
happen
to
our
identity(身份)if
our
mother
tongue
is
no
longer
the
main
language
of
higher
education?”(“荷兰语是我们的母语。我们的文化以荷兰语为基础,”阿姆斯特丹大学讲师
Annette
de
Groot表示。“如果我们的母语不再是高等教育的主要语言,我们的身份会发生什么变化?”)可以推断,继续使用英语,就会造成荷兰语的减弱,而荷兰文化又以荷兰语为基础的,因此就会造成一种文化的缺失,故“linguicide”就是一个人文化身份的缺失,故选B。
【点睛】推理判断题的推断对象主要包括隐含意思、目标读者、观点态度、文章出处、写作意图等。以推断隐含意义的题目居多。推断隐含意义,即要求根据文章的某个句子、段落或全文所提供的事实进行逻辑推理,推断出作者没有提到、没有明说或者可能发生的事实。题干中常含infer(推断),suggest(暗示),imply(暗示),indicate(暗示),conclude(推断,得出结论)等词语。解此类题,首先找到相关信息,然后细读、理解相关信息的字面意义,最后结合语境和常识,在字面意义的基础上进行符合逻辑的推断,从而理解作者的言外之意。如小题4,根据文章最后一段“Dutch
is
our
mother
tongue.
Our
culture
is
based
on
Dutch,”
says
Annette
de
Groot,
a
lecturer
at
the
University
of
Amsterdam.
“What
would
happen
to
our
identity(身份)if
our
mother
tongue
is
no
longer
the
main
language
of
higher
education?”
荷兰语是我们的母语。我们的文化以荷兰语为基础,”阿姆斯特丹大学讲师
Annette
de
Groot表示。“如果我们的母语不再是高等教育的主要语言,我们的身份会发生什么变化?”由此可以推断继续使用英语,就会造成荷兰语的减弱,而荷兰文化又以荷兰语为基础的,因此就会造成一种文化的缺失,故“linguicide”就是一个人文化身份的缺失,故选B。
D
What
you
do
after
studying
could
have
a
big
effect
on
how
well
you
learn
and
remember.
Today
on
Education
Tips,
we
will
explore
two
no-cost
ways
that
can
help
you
improve
your
learning:
wakeful
rest
and
sleep.
When
many
students
finish
studying,
they
often
go
straight
to
another
activity.
Perhaps
they
look
at
their
phone
or
computer.
They
might
even
play
a
video
game
or
watch
television.
But
research
suggests
that
resting
after
your
study
may
help
you
remember
what
you
have
studied.
The
idea
is
this:
by
stopping
your
activity
after
the
study,
your
brain
gets
a
chance
to
rest.
Resting
is
difficult
when
you
are
playing
computer
games.
While
this
might
sound
unusual
to
you,
many
studies
have
explored
the
benefits(好处)of
resting
after
learning—what
is
called
“wakeful
rest”.
A
2019
study
found
that
both
young
and
older
adults
were
able
to
better
remember
information
they
learned
after
doing
wakeful
rest.
If
you
want
to
give
“wakeful
rest”
a
try
here
are
a
few
simple
things
to
do.
Rest
quietly
for
five
to
ten
minutes.
Do
not
look
at
your
phone,
read
stories
or
play
games.
It
is
really
that
easy!
Besides
wakeful
rest,
sleep
is
also
important
for
learning.
The
Division
of
Sleep
Medicine
at
Harvard
Medical
School
(HMS)
notes
that
sleep
helps
people
to
learn
in
two
ways.
A
report
on
the
school’s
website
explains
that
“a
sleep-deprived
(剥夺)
person
cannot
pay
full
attention
and
therefore
cannot
learn
well”.
It
also
says,
“Sleep
itself
helps
us
to
memorize
and
that
memorizing
is
very
important
for
learning
new
information.”
The
National
Sleep
Foundation
(NSF)
suggests
that
adults
between
the
ages
of
20
and
64
get
between
7
and
9
hours
of
sleep
per
day.
Teenagers
may
need
a
little
bit
more,
and
people
over
the
age
of
65
may
need
a
little
less.
Try
to
get
some
“wakeful
rest”
after
a
study.
Then
try
to
get
a
good
night’s
sleep.
That’s
it—a
simple,
no-cost
way
to
help
you
remember
what
you
learn.

【解析】
【分析】
这是一篇记叙文。作者讲述了邀请朋友Alan一起过中秋节的故事。
【详解】1.考查时态。句意:当我们在等待一顿丰盛的午餐时,Alan和我都感到饿了。根据句意以及句中助动词were可知,while引导的时间状语从句应为过去进行时,进行时结构为be+动词的现在分词。故将wait改为waiting。
2.考查名词。句意:吃了一顿丰盛的午餐后,我们感到精力充沛。因句中of为介词,后面需要接名词作宾语。故将energetic改为energy。
3.考查形容词。句意:下午,妈妈教我和Alan做月饼,这让我们特别兴奋。ing结尾的新形容词一般用来修饰物,ed结尾的形容词一般用来修饰人,根据句意可知,句中形容词修饰us(是人)。故将exciting改为excited。
4.考查介词和动词的搭配。句意:我们仔细地听妈妈讲,非常耐心地做月饼。listen“听”是不及物动词,需要加介词to后接宾语。故在listened后加to。
5.考查冠词。句意:最后,我们做了一些美味的月饼。at
last“最后”是介词短语,固定搭配。故将the删除。
6.考查反身代词。句意:晚上,我们一起吃自己做的月饼,一起欣赏父亲讲述的节日故事。句子主语是we,反身代词应该和主语语义一致,逻辑合理。故将themselves改为ourselves。
7.考查副词。句意:后来,Alan
告诉我他永远不会忘记我们一起庆祝中秋节的那一天。late作为副词,意为“迟;晚”;副词later,意为“后来”,所以later符合句意。故将Late改为Later。
8.考查定语从句引导词。句意:后来,Alan
告诉我他永远不会忘记我们一起庆祝中秋节的那一天。分析句子可知,句中定语从句所修饰的先行词为the
day,从句应用when来引导,when在从句中作时间状语。故将where改为when。
9.考查谓语动词。句意:他希望能在我家里过许多其他的中国传统节日。情态动词could应和动词原形spend一起构成谓语。故将spent改为spend

10.考查名词。句意:他希望能在我家里过许多其他的中国传统节日。根据句中many可知,后面所修饰的名词应用复数形式festivals。故将festival改为festivals。

Recently
whenever
I
turned
on
my
computer
or
my
mobile
phone,
news
about
the
great
effect
of
Hurricane
Harvey
(哈维飓风)on
thousands
of
people
caught
my
eye.
I
saw
many
unfortunate
events.
However,
there
was
also
lots
of
bright
news
that
showed
the
goodness
of
mankind.
As
a
reporter,
I
reported
many
human-interest
stories
when
doing
my
job,
That’s
why
the
story
about
the
guys
in
the
bakery(面包店)caught
my
eye.
When
the
workers
at
a
Mexican
bakery
chain
in
Houston
were
trapped
inside
the
building
for
two
days,
they
didn't
sit
there
feeling
sorry
for
themselves.
They
used
their
time
wisely
after
flooding
caused
by
Hurricane
Harvey.
While
waiting
for
the
eventual
rescue
that
came
on
Monday
morning,
the
four
workers
decided
to
make
as
many
loaves
of
bread
as
possible
for
people
around
the
neighborhood.
They
talked
to
their
manager
about
their
plan
over
the
phone
and
the
manager
agreed.
The
flood
water
rose
in
the
street
outside.
They
took
advantage
of
their
emergency
power
supply
to
bake
bread.
They
used
more
than
4,200
pounds
of
flour(面粉)to
create
hundreds
of
loaves
and
sheets
of
sweet
bread.
Although
the
water
kept
rising,
they
continued
baking
to
help
more
people.
By
the
time
the
manager
managed
to
get
to
them,
they
had
made
so
much
bread
that
they
took
the
loaves
to
lots
of
emergency
centers
across
the
city
for
people
affected
by
the
floods.
The
store
manager,
Brian
Alvarado,
told
The
Independent,
“They've
done
more
than
they
should
have
done.
And
what
they
had
done
has
lit
a
light
for
people.
I
feel
lucky
to
have
them
work
in
the
bakery.”
Whenever
a
disaster
occurs,
nobody
should
feel
forlorn.
Instead,
we
should
stay
hopeful
and
take
positive
action
to
save
ourselves
and
help
others.
Our
acts
of
kindness
will
make
a
big
difference
to
the
people
in
the
world
as
well
as
the
world
itself.

In
this
semester,
Professor
Van
Rijnsoever
of
Utrecht
University
of
the
Netherlands
is
to
teach
“Dutch
Culture
in
the
World”,
in
English.
The
language
is
the
university’s
choice.
Actually
sixty
percent
of
masters’
programs
at
Utrecht
University
are
in
English.
At
higher
degrees'
level,
no
courses
are
taught
in
Dutch
at
all.
Utrecht
is
not
alone.
The
University
of
Eindhoven
has
even
completely
kicked
the
Dutch
language
out
of
its
campus.
Even
the
sandwiches
in
the
stores
there
are
sold
as
cheese
rather
than
with
the
Dutch
word
“kaas”.
As
a
result,
the
Netherlands
has
one
of
the
world’s
highest
levels
of
English
proficiency
(流利)among
non-native
speaking
countries,
second
only
to
Sweden.
But
not
everyone
is
happy
with
that
“I
don't
mind.
Most
of
the
literature
is
in
English,”
says
Professor
Van
Rijnsoever.
“As
a
teacher
it’s
not
that
much
of
a
problem
because
we
also
do
research
in
English.
For
the
students,
you
see
they
are
struggling
to
express
themselves
properly.”
He
added
“We
aren’t
as
good
at
English
as
they
think
we
are.
We
shouldn’t
use
a
weaker
language
in
education.
If
we
use
just
English
in
higher
education,
Dutch
will
get
worse.
We
add
a
bit
of
English
and
we
lose
a
bit
of
Dutch.
We
cannot
master
Dutch
and
English
at
the
same
time.”
Actually,
English
is
so
widely
used
in
Dutch
universities
that
a
group
of
lecturers
are
worried
about
a
possible
“linguicide”
and
demanded
that
the
universities
stop
creating
more
courses
in
English
until
an
official
research
has
been
carried
out.
“Dutch
is
our
mother
tongue.
Our
culture
is
based
on
Dutch,”
says
Annette
de
Groot,
a
lecturer
at
the
University
of
Amsterdam.
“What
would
happen
to
our
identity(身份)if
our
mother
tongue
is
no
longer
the
main
language
of
higher
education?”
“It
is
high
time
for
an
honest
debate.”
said
a
teacher
from
the
University
of
Erasmus.
8.
Which
university
teaches
all
its
courses
in
English?
A.
Utrecht.
B.
Eindhoven.
C.
Amsterdam.
D.
Erasmus.
9.
What
does
the
underlined
word
“that”
in
paragraph
6
refer
to?
A.
The
highest
level
of
English
proficiency
in
the
Netherlands.
B.
The
teaching
of
“Dutch
Culture
in
the
World"
in
English.
C.
The
kick
out
of
the
Dutch
language
from
all
schools.
D.
The
widespread
use
of
English
in
the
Dutch
universities.
10.
What
can
we
learn
from
Van
Rijnsoever’s
words?
A.
The
all-
English
courses
might
weaken
the
mastery
of
Dutch.
B.
Students
can
learn
two
languages
equally
well
at
the
same
time.
C.
The
stress
on
English
can
help
the
spread
of
Dutch
culture.
D.
The
students
of
Utrecht
are
happy
with
the
all-English
courses.
11.
What
is
“linguicide”?
A.
The
birth
of
a
language.
B.
The
loss
of
one’s
cultural
identity.
C.
The
war
between
cultures.
D.
The
popularity
of
a
language.

What
you
do
after
studying
could
have
a
big
effect
on
how
well
you
learn
and
remember.
Today
on
Education
Tips,
we
will
explore
two
no-cost
ways
that
can
help
you
improve
your
learning:
wakeful
rest
and
sleep.
When
many
students
finish
studying,
they
often
go
straight
to
another
activity.
Perhaps
they
look
at
their
phone
or
computer.
They
might
even
play
a
video
game
or
watch
television.
But
research
suggests
that
resting
after
your
study
may
help
you
remember
what
you
have
studied.
The
idea
is
this:
by
stopping
your
activity
after
the
study,
your
brain
gets
a
chance
to
rest.
Resting
is
difficult
when
you
are
playing
computer
games.
While
this
might
sound
unusual
to
you,
many
studies
have
explored
the
benefits(好处)of
resting
after
learning—what
is
called
“wakeful
rest”.
A
2019
study
found
that
both
young
and
older
adults
were
able
to
better
remember
information
they
learned
after
doing
wakeful
rest.
If
you
want
to
give
“wakeful
rest”
a
try,
here
are
a
few
simple
things
to
do.
Rest
quietly
for
five
to
ten
minutes.
Do
not
look
at
your
phone,
read
stories
or
play
games.
It
is
really
that
easy!
Besides
wakeful
rest,
sleep
is
also
important
for
learning.
The
Division
of
Sleep
Medicine
at
Harvard
Medical
School
(HMS)
notes
that
sleep
helps
people
to
learn
in
two
ways.
A
report
on
the
school’s
website
explains
that
“a
sleep-deprived
(剥夺)
person
cannot
pay
full
attention
and
therefore
cannot
learn
well”.
It
also
says,
“Sleep
itself
helps
us
to
memorize
and
that
memorizing
is
very
important
for
learning
new
information.”
The
National
Sleep
Foundation
(NSF)
suggests
that
adults
between
the
ages
of
20
and
64
get
between
7
and
9
hours
of
sleep
per
day.
Teenagers
may
need
a
little
bit
more,
and
people
over
the
age
of
65
may
need
a
little
less.
Try
to
get
some
“wakeful
rest”
after
a
study.
Then
try
to
get
a
good
night’s
sleep.
That’s
it—a
simple,
no-cost
way
to
help
you
remember
what
you
learn.
12.
What
is

mainly
about?
A.
The
importance
of
sleep.
B.
The
good
ways
to
get
a
rest.
C.
The
reason
for
having
a
rest.
D.
The
types
of
resting
activities.
13.
Which
activity
belongs
to
“wakeful
rest”?
A.
Reading
a
newspaper.
B.
Playing
a
video
game.
C.
Sitting
quietly
doing
nothing.
D.
Having
a
nice
sleep
at
night.
14.
How
long
should
teenagers
sleep
each
day
according
to
NSF?
A.
Less
than
7
hours.
B.
Just
7
hours.
C.
More
than
16
hours.
D.
Around
9
hours.
15.
What
can
be
a
suitable
title
for
the
text?
A.
Low-cost
Tips
on
Working
B.
Good
Things
to
Do
After

C.
Why
Do
We
Need
to
Have

The
Benefits
of
Keeping
a
Journal
If
you
want
to
grow,
one
important
thing
you
should
do
is
keeping
a
journal.
It
may
seem
simple,
but
it
can
make
a
big
difference
in
your
life.
I
have
been
keeping
journals
for
years.
Writing
all
the
lessons
I
learn
and
all
the
ideas
I
get
has
become
a
habit
for
me.
___16___
Here
are
some
benefits
you
will
get
by
keeping
a
journal.
It
prevents
you
from
losing
an
idea.
Have
you
ever
gotten
an
idea
only
to
lose
it
later
because
you
didn't
write
it
down?___17___
But
then
I
developed
the
habit
of
writing
down
every
idea
that
came
into
my
mind
as
soon
as
possible.
If
I'm
away
from
my
computer,
I
usually
write
it
down
on
a
piece
of
paper
that
I
bring
wherever
I
go.
I
will
then
transfer
the
idea
to
the
journal
in
my
computer.
It
helps
you
review
all
the
lessons
you've
learned.
By
reviewing
your
journal,
you
can
quickly
see
the
lessons
you've
learned
and
the
ideas
you've
gotten.
___18___
You
can
use
the
ideas
to
push
yourself
forward.
___19___
After
keeping
a
journal
for
years,
you
can
look
back
at
it
and
see
how
far
you've
gone.
Things
that
were
big
problems
in
the
past
might
seem
small
today.
The
raw
ideas
you
had
in
the
past
might
have
been
realized
today.
It
helps
you
expand
your
ideas.
When
you
try
to
come
up
with
a
sentence
to
express
an
idea,
you
are
thinking
actively
about
it.
___20___
In
the
end,
you
will
expand
your
ideas.
A.
I
often
experienced
that
myself.
B.
It
allows
you
to
see
your
progress
over
time.
C.
It
trains
you
to
express
your
thoughts.
D.
Just
use
whatever
tool
you
feel
comfortable
with.
E.
Thinking
actively
helps
you
connect
your
idea
to
another
idea.
F.
And
to
be
honest,
I
can't
imagine
what
my
life
would
be
like
without
it.
G.
Then
you
can
do
whatever
necessary
to
avoid
repeating
the
same
mistakes.
