Traditionally,
robots
have
been
hard,made
of
metal
and
other
rigid
material.
But
a
team
of
scientists
at
Harvard
University
in
the
US
has
managed
to
build
an
entirely
soft
robot—one
that
draws
inspiration
from
an
octopus
(章鱼).
Described
in
science
journal
Nature,the
“Octobot”
could
pave
the
way
for
more
effective
autonomous
robots
that
could
be
used
in
search,
rescue
and
exploration
.“The
Octobot
is
a
minimal
system
which
may
serve
as
a
foundation
for
a
new
generation
of
completely
soft,autonomous
robots,”the
study's
authors
wrote.
Robots
built
for
precise,repetitive
movements
in
a
controlled
environment
don't
do
so
well
on
rough
terrains
(地形)
or
in
unpredictable
conditions.
And
they
aren't
especially
safe
around
humans,because
they're
made
out
of
hard
and
heavy
parts
that
could
be
potentially
dangerous
to
their
users.
So
researchers
have
been
working
on
building
soft
robots
for
decades.
They've
taken
inspiration
from
nature,looking
to
animals
from
jellyfish
to
cockroaches,
which
are
often
made
up
of
more
flexible
matter.
But
creating
a
completely
soft
robot
remains
a
challenge.
Even
if
engineers
build
a
silicone
(硅酮)
body,it's
still
a
grand
challenge
to
construct
flexible
versions
of
essential
parts,such
as
a
source
of
power.
“Although
soft
robotics
is
still
in
its
early
stage,it
holds
great
promise
for
several
applications,such
as
search?and?rescue
operations
and
exploration,”Barbara
Mazzolai
and
Virgilio
Mattoli
of
the
Italian
Institute
of
Technology's
Center
for
Micro?BioRobotics,wrote
in
a
comment.
“Soft
robots
might
also
open
up
new
approaches
to
improving
wellness
and
quality
of
life.”

Rehmat
and
His
Perfume
He
smelled
beautiful
as
he
leaned
across
the
table
to
pour
my
coffee.
I
later
learned
his
name
was
Rehmat.
He
works
in
the
hotel
where
we
are
staying
in
Fujairah,
UAE.
I
couldn't
resist
it
and
had
to
tell
him
his
scent
was
beautiful.
He
thanked
me.
As
I
continued
to
enjoy
my
breakfast,
Rehmat
returned
to
my
table.
He
presented
me
with
his
perfume.
He
said
there
wasn't
much
left
in
it
but
he
wanted
to
give
it
to
me
as
a
gift.
I
was
touched!What
a
kind
man!
He
had
gone
to
his
bag
and
fetched
me
the
gift.
Of
course,
I
couldn't
take
this
gift;
it's
too
much.
I
decided
that
I
would
give
a
gift
to
Rehmat.
I
went
to
my
room
and
brought
down
a
little
Irish
Celtic
Cross
coaster
(托盘).
When
I
returned
to
the
dinning
area,
he
was
gone
but
the
manager
said
he
would
send
Rehmat
to
my
room.
I
gave
Rehmat
the
little
coaster.
He
was
so
touched.
It
was
the
first
time
in
his
three
years
here
that
a
guest
had
given
him
something.
He
kept
touching
his
heart
and
bowing
his
head.
Rehmat
is
from
Pakistan.
He
told
me
he
was
going
to
immediately
send
a
photo
of
this
to
his
mum
and
other
family
members,
and
tomorrow
Rehmat
was
going
to
bring
me
some
fruits
from
his
home.
I
think
he
said
he
was
also
going
to
bring
us
to
his
home
to
enjoy
their
hospitality
(好客).
Rehmat
thinks
I
have
made
his
day,
the
truth
is,
he
warmed
my
heart
more
than
he
could
possibly
know.
I
think
I
have
made
another
friend.
My
friends,
what
a
joy
to
open
our
hearts
and
be
blessed
in
return
with
a
grateful
and
loving
heart
of
another!

Tips
to
Be
an
Expert
at
Managing
Your
Time
Do
you
have
too
much
to
do
and
too
little
time?
Of
course!
Actually,
it's
the
biggest
problem
facing
most
people
today.
The
key
to
becoming
more
efficient
is
the
ability
to
set
priorities
(优先顺序)
and
focus
on
one
task
at
a
time.
__36__
Learn
from
the
experts.
If
you
want
to
be
a
big
success
in
any
area,
find
out
what
other
successful
people
in
that
area
are
doing.
__37__
And
do
the
same
things
until
you
get
the
same
results.
Be
open
to
new
ideas.
The
most
foolish
person
of
all
is
either
the
person
who
feels
he
has
no
time
to
learn
about
time
management
or,
the
person,
who
feels
that
he
already
knows
all
that's
needed
to
know
on
the
subject.
__38__
Develop
a
plan.
Successful
men
and
women
are
both
effective
and
efficient.
__39__
Develop
a
plan,
then
decide
what
is
the
most
important
thing
to
do
and
how
to
do
it.
__40__
Start
with
your
top
tasks.
Focusing
on
your
highest?value
tasks
is
the
starting
point
of
getting
your
time
under
control,
though
small
things
are
easier
and
are
often
more
fun
than
the
big,
important
things.
A.Focus
on
the
key
tasks.
B.Start
from
small
things.
C.They
do
the
right
things
in
the
right
way.
D.But
never
forget
to
learn
from
their
failures.
E.However,
the
truth
is
that
we
have
much
to
learn.
F.Study
the
interviews,
speeches,
biographies
of
them.
G.Here
are
several
ways
to
get
organized
and
get
started.

Settled
just
above
a
window
was
a
bird's
nest
which
my
cousin
said
had
been
there
for
many
years.
Each
year,
different
families
of
starlings
(椋鸟)
came
back
to
make
it
their
__41__.
We
knew
they
were
__42__
because
the
chattering
(鸣叫)
of
six
newly
hatched
chicks
woke
us
early
every
morning.
Standing
on
a
chair,
I
__43__
to
look
into
their
nest.
The
first
time
I
looked,
the
chicks
were
__44__
and
almost
featherless.
Their
parents
flew
backwards
and
forwards,
bringing
food
to
__45__
their
hungry
and
noisy
chicks.
Being
__46__
parents,
whenever
they
saw
me
they
screamed
and
flew
at
the
window.
So
I
could
only
__47__
the
chicks
when
they
weren't
around.
__48__
the
chicks
were
only
a
few
days
old,
I
realized
the
parents
were
teaching
their
young
to
fly.
One
brave
chick
beat
its
wings
a
few
times
and
then
__49__
across
the
street
landing
on
the
roof
of
the
house
__50__.
Well
done,
I
thought.
The
next
day,
my
husband
and
I
left
for
a
tour
and
I
was
__51__,
thinking
of
how
I
would
miss
the
rest
taking
their
first
flight.
Two
weeks
later,
on
our
__52__,
the
first
thing
I
did
was
look
in
the
nest.
It
was
__53__.
Then,
suddenly,
I
heard
the
beating
of
__54__
and
all
eight
of
them
were
flying
toward
me.
They
__55__
a
semicircle,
singing
to
me.
I
felt
as
though
they
were
saying,
“Thank
you
for
not
harming
us.”

第二节(满分25分)
阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。续写的词数应为150左右。
On
a
cold
windy
day,
a
poor
boy
tried
to
pay
his
way
through
school
by
selling
goods
door
to
door.
Wandering
on
the
street,
he
was
not
a
successful
seller.
What's
worse,
he
found
that
he
only
had
one
dime
(一角硬币)
left.
His
empty
stomach
reminded
him
constantly
that
for
days
he
hadn't
eaten
anything.
He
had
no
choice
but
to
beg
for
a
meal
at
the
next
house.
Hesitantly
he
knocked
at
the
door,
thinking
about
what
to
say
when
it
opened.
However,
he
lost
his
nerve
when
a
lovely
young
woman
opened
the
door.
“What
can
I
do
for
you?”
asked
the
young
woman.
The
boy
paused
for
a
while.
“Would
you
please
give
me
some...a
drink
of
water?”
the
boy
dared
not
look
directly
into
her
eyes.
She
looked
at
the
bony
boy
and
thought
he
might
need
something
to
give
him
energy
so
she
brought
him
a
glass
of
milk.
His
head
rising
and
small
hands
taking
the
cup,
he
drank
it
up
slowly,
and
then
asked,
“How
much
do
I
owe
you?”“You
don't
owe
me
anything,”
she
replied
with
a
warm
smile
on
her
face.
“My
mother
has
taught
me
never
to
accept
pay
for
a
kindness.”
Deeply
moved,
he
said
sincerely,
“Then
I
shall
thank
you
from
the
bottom
of
my
heart.”As
Howard
Kelly
left
that
house,
he
not
only
felt
stronger
physically,
but
it
also
increased
his
faith
in
God
and
the
whole
human
race.
As
a
matter
of
fact,
he
was
about
to
give
up
and
quit
before
that
point.
Years
later
the
young
woman
became
critically
ill.
However,
the
local
doctors
were
unable
to
give
the
effective
medical
treatment.
Finally
they
sent
her
to
a
hospital
in
the
big
city,
where
specialists
can
be
called
in
to
cure
her
rare
disease.
Among
those
famous
specialists,
Dr
Howard
Kelly
was
called
in
for
the
consultation.
When
he
heard
the
name
of
the
town
she
came
from,
a
strange
light
filled
his
eyes.
Immediately,
he
rose
and
went
down
through
the
hospital
hall
into
her
room.

Traditionally,
robots
have
been
hard,made
of
metal
and
other
rigid
material.
But
a
team
of
scientists
at
Harvard
University
in
the
US
has
managed
to
build
an
entirely
soft
robot—one
that
draws
inspiration
from
an
octopus
(章鱼).
Described
in
science
journal
Nature,the
“Octobot”
could
pave
the
way
for
more
effective
autonomous
robots
that
could
be
used
in
search,
rescue
and
exploration
.“The
Octobot
is
a
minimal
system
which
may
serve
as
a
foundation
for
a
new
generation
of
completely
soft,autonomous
robots,”the
study's
authors
wrote.
Robots
built
for
precise,repetitive
movements
in
a
controlled
environment
don't
do
so
well
on
rough
terrains
(地形)
or
in
unpredictable
conditions.
And
they
aren't
especially
safe
around
humans,because
they're
made
out
of
hard
and
heavy
parts
that
could
be
potentially
dangerous
to
their
users.
So
researchers
have
been
working
on
building
soft
robots
for
decades.
They've
taken
inspiration
from
nature,looking
to
animals
from
jellyfish
to
cockroaches,
which
are
often
made
up
of
more
flexible
matter.
But
creating
a
completely
soft
robot
remains
a
challenge.
Even
if
engineers
build
a
silicone
(硅酮)
body,it's
still
a
grand
challenge
to
construct
flexible
versions
of
essential
parts,such
as
a
source
of
power.
“Although
soft
robotics
is
still
in
its
early
stage,it
holds
great
promise
for
several
applications,such
as
search?and?rescue
operations
and
exploration,”Barbara
Mazzolai
and
Virgilio
Mattoli
of
the
Italian
Institute
of
Technology's
Center
for
Micro?BioRobotics,wrote
in
a
comment.
“Soft
robots
might
also
open
up
new
approaches
to
improving
wellness
and
quality
of
life.”

can't
predict
conditions.
D.They
can't
behave
well
all
the
time.

Rehmat
and
His
Perfume
He
smelled
beautiful
as
he
leaned
across
the
table
to
pour
my
coffee.
I
later
learned
his
name
was
Rehmat.
He
works
in
the
hotel
where
we
are
staying
in
Fujairah,
UAE.
I
couldn't
resist
it
and
had
to
tell
him
his
scent
was
beautiful.
He
thanked
me.
As
I
continued
to
enjoy
my
breakfast,
Rehmat
returned
to
my
table.
He
presented
me
with
his
perfume.
He
said
there
wasn't
much
left
in
it
but
he
wanted
to
give
it
to
me
as
a
gift.
I
was
touched!What
a
kind
man!
He
had
gone
to
his
bag
and
fetched
me
the
gift.
Of
course,
I
couldn't
take
this
gift;
it's
too
much.
I
decided
that
I
would
give
a
gift
to
Rehmat.
I
went
to
my
room
and
brought
down
a
little
Irish
Celtic
Cross
coaster
(托盘).
When
I
returned
to
the
dinning
area,
he
was
gone
but
the
manager
said
he
would
send
Rehmat
to
my
room.
I
gave
Rehmat
the
little
coaster.
He
was
so
touched.

family
members,
and
tomorrow
Rehmat
was
going
to
bring
me
some
fruits
from
his
home.
I
think
he
said
he
was
also
going
to
bring
us
to
his
home
to
enjoy
their
hospitality
(好客).
Rehmat
thinks
I
have
made
his
day,
the
truth
is,
he
warmed
my
heart
more
than
he
could
possibly
know.
I
think
I
have
made
another
friend.
My
friends,
what
a
joy
to
open
our
hearts
and
be
blessed
in
return
with
a
grateful
and
loving
heart
of
another!

Tips
to
Be
an
Expert
at
Managing
Your
Time
Do
you
have
too
much
to
do
and
too
little
time?
Of
course!
Actually,
it's
the
biggest
problem
facing
most
people
today.
The
key
to
becoming
more
efficient
is
the
ability
to
set
priorities
(优先顺序)
and
focus
on
one
task
at
a
time.
__36__
Learn
from
the
experts.
If
you
want
to
be
a
big
success
in
any
area,
find
out
what
other
successful
people
in
that
area
are
doing.
__37__
And
do
the
same
things
until
you
get
the
same
results.
Be
open
to
new
ideas.
The
most
foolish
person
of
all
is
either
the
person
who
feels
he
has
no
time
to
learn
about
time
management
or,
the
person,
who
feels
that
he
already
knows
all
that's
needed
to
know
on
the
subject.
__38__
Develop
a
plan.
Successful
men
and
women
are
both
effective
and
efficient.
__39__
Develop
a
plan,
then
decide
what
is
the
most
important
thing
to
do
and
how
to
do
it.
__40__
Start
with
your
top
tasks.
Focusing
on
your
highest?value
tasks
is
the
starting
point
of
getting
your
time
under
control,
though
small
things
are
easier
and
are
often
more
fun
than
the
big,
important
things.
A.Focus
on
the
key
tasks.
B.Start
from
small
things.
C.They
do
the
right
things
in
the
right
way.
D.But
never
forget
to
learn
from
their
failures.
E.However,
the
truth
is
that
we
have
much
to
learn.
F.Study
the
interviews,
speeches,
biographies
of
them.
G.Here
are
several
ways
to
get
organized
and
get
started.

open
to
new
ideas.”等之类的小标题可知,下文在叙述一些成为管理时间专家的窍门。而空白处必然会引起下文,起承上启下的作用。结合选项,故选G。
37.F 解析:根据空白处前一句“If
you
want
to
be
a
big
success
in
any
area,find
out
what
other
successful
people
in
that
area
are
doing.”可知,如果你想在任一领域成为一个成功的人,找出在这个领域成功的人所做的事。根据标题也可知本段讲述的是向成功的人学习。结合选项,F项符合本段文意。故选F。
38.E 解析:根据空白处前一句“the
person,who
feels
that
he
already
knows
all
that's
needed
to
know
on
the
subject”可知,有些人觉得他已经知道所有需要知道的内容。而本段标题“Be
open
to
new
ideas.”是指要接受新思想。可见有很多内容都需要学习。故选E。
39.C 解析:根据前一句“Successful
men
and
women
are
both
effective
and
efficient”指出成功的男人和女人都是高效的。可推测后文会对这一句进行解释说明,才能进一步引出Develop
a
plan。故选C。
40.A 解析:根据空白处所在的位置看,此处是一个小标题,是对整段的总结。根据段落中“Focusing
on
your
highest?value
tasks
is
the
starting
point

第二节(满分25分)
阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。续写的词数应为150左右。
On
a
cold
windy
day,
a
poor
boy
tried
to
pay
his
way
through
school
by
selling
goods
door
to
door.
Wandering
on
the
street,
he
was
not
a
successful
seller.
What's
worse,
he
found
that
he
only
had
one
dime
(一角硬币)
left.
His
empty
stomach
reminded
him
constantly
that
for
days
he
hadn't
eaten
anything.
He
had
no
choice
but
to
beg
for
a
meal
at
the
next
house.
Hesitantly
he
knocked
at
the
door,
thinking
about
what
to
say
when
it
opened.
However,
he
lost
his
nerve
when
a
lovely
young
woman
opened
the
door.
“What
can
I
do
for
you?”
asked
the
young
woman.
The
boy
paused
for
a
while.
“Would
you
please
give
me
some...a
drink
of
water?”
the
boy
dared
not
look
directly
into
her
eyes.
She
looked
at
the
bony
boy
and
thought
he
might
need
something
to
give
him
energy
so
she
brought
him
a
glass
of
milk.
His
head
rising
and
small
hands
taking
the
cup,
he
drank
it
up
slowly,
and
then
asked,
“How
much
do
I
owe
you?”“You
don't
owe
me
anything,”
she
replied
with
a
warm
smile
on
her
face.
“My
mother
has
taught
me
never
to
accept
pay
for
a
kindness.”
Deeply
moved,
he
said
sincerely,
“Then
I
shall
thank
you
from
the
bottom
of
my
heart.”As
Howard
Kelly
left
that
house,
he
not
only
felt
stronger
physically,
but
it
also
increased
his
faith
in
God
and
the
whole
human
race.
As
a
matter
of
fact,
he
was
about
to
give
up
and
quit
before
that
point.
Years
later
the
young
woman
became
critically
ill.
However,
the
local
doctors
were
unable
to
give
the
effective
medical
treatment.
Finally
they
sent
her
to
a
hospital
in
the
big
city,
where
specialists
can
be
called
in
to
cure
her
rare
disease.
Among
those
famous
specialists,
Dr
Howard
Kelly
was
called
in
for
the
consultation.
When
he
heard
the
name
of
the
town
she
came
from,
a
strange
light
filled
his
eyes.
Immediately,
he
rose
and
went
down
through
the
hospital
hall
into
her
room.
答案
Paragraph
1:
Dressed
in
his
doctor's
gown,
he
went
in
to
see
her.
He
saw
her
lie
on
the
bed
and
recognized
her
at
once.
Her
lovely
face
looked
pale.
He
went
back
to
the
consultation
room
and
determined
to
do
his
best
to
save
her
life.
From
that
day
on,
he
gave
special
attention
to
her
case.
Luckily,
after
a
long
struggle,
the
battle
was
won.
Dr
Kelly
requested
the
business
office
to
pass
the
final
bill
to
him
for
approval.
He
looked
at
it
and
then
wrote
something
on
the
side.
Paragraph
2:
The
bill
was
sent
to
her
room.
Hesitantly
she
took
it.
She
was
afraid
to
open
it
because
she
was
sure
that
it
would
take
the
rest
of
her
life
to
pay
it
off.
Finally
she
opened
it,
on
the
side
of
which
a
note
caught
her
attention.
She
read
these
words,
“Paid
in
full
with
a
glass
of
milk.”
signed
Dr
Howard
Kelly.
Tears
of
joy
flooded
her
eyes
as
she
prayed
silently,
“Thank
You,
God.”
