阅读下列短文,从每题所给的A、B、C、D四个选项中选出最佳选项。
A
Student
loan
(贷款)
debt
has
become
a
worldwide
problem.
In
America,
the
country's
overall
student
debt
reached
a
record
of
$1.6
trillion
in
2019.
The
average
person
with
student
loan
debt
owed
between
$20,000
and
$25,000.
A
recent
Japanese
government
report
says
it
has
been
lending
over
$9
billion
yearly
to
students
since
2010.
Similar
conditions
exist
in
Africa
and
South
America.
Several
factors
account
for
high
student
loan
debt.
One
is
that
employers
everywhere
have
increased
their
demands
for
skilled
workers,
making
higher
education
a
requirement
for
many
jobs.
The
students,
however,
after
graduation,
often
find
that
their
country's
economy
is
not
strong
enough
to
support
their
financial
needs,
so
their
ability
to
pay
back
the
loan
becomes
a
problem.
To
solve
the
problem,
many
countries
are
seeking
their
ways.
Australia
has
developed
a
system
where
students
do
not
have
to
pay
anything
back
until
they
are
earning
at
least
$40,000
a
year.
In
America,
several
candidates
running
for
president
in
the
2020
election
have
offered
more
extreme
solutions
that
all
or
at
least
some
of
these
loans
will
be
forgiven.
Some
professors
in
several
universities
recently
studied
what
the
effects
of
debt
forgiveness
might
be.
They
found
that,
overall,
sudden
debt
relief
greatly
improved
the
borrowers'
lives.
Not
only
did
they
have
more
money,
but
they
were
more
likely
to
move
to
a
new
area
and
seek
better
paying
work.
Yet
the
professors'
research
doesn’t
include
what
might
happen
to
financial
institutions
or
the
overall
economy
if
debt
were
totally
forgiven.
It
only
looks
at
how
debt
forgiveness
would
help
the
borrowers.
They
warn
of
some
other
possible
negative
effects.
If
a
borrower
knew
that
if
he
ran
into
any
trouble
he
would
be
saved
because
he
could
get
the
debt
relief,
then
he
might
actually
become
more
reckless
(轻率的)
with
his
borrowing
in
the
future.
No
matter
what,
the
professors
agree
that
if
countries
do
decide
to
approve
some
student
debt
relief
the
neediest
students
should
be
helped
first.
1.
What
can
we
learn
about
student
loan
debt
relief?
A.
It
will
surely
provide
some
benefits
to
borrowers.
B.
It
has
already
been
carried
out
in
the
United
States.
C.
It
aims
to
encourage
more
students
to
borrow
money.
D.
It
will
prevent
a
person
from
landing
a
well-paying
job.
2.
What
is
the
professors'
attitude
to
debt
forgiveness?
A.
Uncaring
B.
Positive
C.
Disapproving
D.
Cautious
3.
What's
the
main
idea
of
the
text?
A.
Student
loan
debt
is
the
most
serious
problem
worldwide.
B.
Growing
global
student
debt
fuels
search
for
solutions.
C.
Student
loan
debt
tends
to
pull
the
needy
out
of
trouble.
D.
People
hold
different
opinions
on
debt
forgiveness
B
Like
a
tired
marriage,
the
relationship
between
libraries
and
publishers
has
long
been
dull.
E-
books,
however,
are
causing
heartache.
Libraries
know
they
need
digital
wares,
but
many
publishers
are
too
cautious
about
piracy(盗版)
and
lost
sales
to
co-operate.
Among
the
big
six,
only
Random
House
and
Harper
Collins
license
e-books
with
most
libraries.
Publishers
are
wise
to
be
nervous.
Owners
of
e-readers(电子阅读器)
are
exactly
the
customers
they
need:
book-lovers
with
money.
If
these
people
switch
to
borrowing
e-books
instead
of
buying
them,
what
then?
Electronic
borrowing
is
awfully
convenient.
Unlike
printed
books,
which
must
be
checked
out
and
returned
to
a
physical
library
miles
from
where
you
live,
book
files
can
be
downloaded
at
home.
The
files
disappear
from
the
device
when
they
are
due.
E-lending
is
not
simple,
however.
There
are
lots
of
different
and
often
incompatible(不兼容的)
e-book
formats,
devices
and
licenses.
Most
libraries
use
a
company
called
OverDrive,
which
secures
rights
from
publishers
and
provides
e-books
and
audio
files
in
every
format.
Yet
publishers
and
libraries
are
worried
by
Over
Drive’s
global
market
dominance(优势),
as
the
company
can
control
fees
and
conditions.
Publishers
were
annoyed
when
OverDrive
cooperated
with
Amazon,
the
world’s
biggest
online
bookseller,
last
year.
Owners
of
Amazon’s
Kindle
e-reader
who
want
to
borrow
e-books
from
libraries
are
now
redirected
to
Amazon’s
website,
where
they
must
use
their
Amazon
account
to
secure
a
loan.
According
to
Pew,
an
opinion
researcher,
library
users
are
a
perfect
market
for
Amazon.
Late
last
year
Amazon
introduced
its
Kindle
Owners’
Lending
Library,
which
lets
its
best
customers
borrow
free
one
of
thousands
of
popular
books
each
month.
Library
supporters
argue
that
book
borrowers
are
also
book
buyers
and
that
libraries
are
vital
spaces
for
readers
to
discover
new
works.
Many
were
cheered
by
a
recent
Pew
survey?which
found
that
more
than
half
of
Americans
with
library
cards
say
they
prefer
to
buy
their
e-books.
So
publishers
keep
adjusting
their
lending
arrangements
in
search
of
the
right
balance.
Random
House
raised
its
licensing
price’s
earlier
this
year,
and
Harper
Collins
limits
libraries
to
lending
its
titles
26
times.
4.
It
can
be
inferred
from
Paragraph
1
that
________.
A.
several
big
publishers
have
sold
e-books
to
libraries
B.
most
publishers
are
hesitant
to
cooperate
with
libraries
C.
libraries
are
eager
to
keep
strong
relationship
with
publishers
D.
libraries
and
publishers
face
the
same
problem
of
e-books’
piracy
5.
Why
are
publishers
worried
that
people
will
switch
to
electronic
borrowing?
A.
E-books
must
be
checked
out
and
returned
to
libraries
regularly.
B.
There
is
no
time
limit
for
the
book
files
downloaded
on
the
device.
C.
There
are
lots
of
different
and
incompatible
e-book
formats
available.
D.
Book
sales
may
drop
sharply
because
of
convenient
electronic
borrowing.
6.
We
can
learn
from
the
text
that
________.
A.
Amazon
is
adopting
measures
to
win
more
customers
B.
e-books
can
be
lent
at
libraries
as
many
times
as
you
like
C.
Over
Drive
distributes
e-books
and
audio
files
to
publishers
D.
over
half
of
Americans
are
borrowing
e-boo
from
libraries
7.
What
is
the
best
title
for
the
text?
A.
The
Hopeful
Future
of
Publishing
Business
B.
The
Uncertain
Economics
of
Lending
E-books
C.
The
Dull
Relationship
between
Libraries
and
Publishers
D.
The
Close
Cooperation
between
OverDrive
and
Amazon
C
When
I
was
16years
old
and
in
foster
care
(非亲代养)in
Tennessee,people
told
me
I
was
unadoptable.But
I
desperately
wanted
a
family.I
sought
the
help
of
a
judge,even
the
commissioner
of
the
Department
of
Children's
Services
and
was
adopted
just
a
week
before
my
18th
birthday.
We
have
a
lot
to
be
grateful
for
and
this
holiday
season
.Let's
not
forget
about
the
more
than
415000
youth
in
foster
care
especially
older
youth.These
youth
are
the
most
likely
to
get
overlooked
for
adoption
but
they
shouldn't
be.They
need
and
deserve
a
family
just
as
much
as
young
children
do.Making
an
older
youth
a
part
of
your
family
can
bring
just
as
much
a
joy
as
adopting
a
baby
or
a
younger
child-without
all
the
diapers
and
potty
training.
My
adoption
was
life
changing
and
probably
the
best
thing
that
ever
happened
to
me.I
still
remember
the
first
gift
my
parents
gave
to
me.It
was
a
Mickey
Mouse
key
chain
with
a
key
to
their
home.They
told
me
that
no
matter
what
happened
they
would
always
love
me
and
I'd
always
have
a
place
to
come
home
to.This
is
our
17th
Thanksgiving
together…
My
first
Thanksgiving
with
my
family
was
a
little
overwhelming
with
lots
of
extended
family
including
grandparents,aunts,uncles,and
cousins.However,it's
when
I
realized
that
I
would
never
have
to
spend
another
holiday
alone
and
that
was
truly
an
amazing
feeling.
I
was
always
eager
to
spend
time
with
my
little
sister,Beth.She
was
six
when
I
joined
the
family.My
dad
always
says
he
knew
we
were
really
sisters,and
I
was
no
longer
a
guest
in
the
house
when
Beth
and
I
had
our
first
fight.Today,she's
one
of
my
best
friends,and
I'm
her
biggest
cheerleader.
There
were
also
bittersweet
Thanksgivings.One
we
spent
in
my
mom's
hospital
room.It
was
there
that
she
helped
me
plan
my
wedding
but
passed
away
three
weeks
before
the
ceremony,My
dad
walked
me
down
the
aisle,and
my
sister
was
my
maid
of
hono,Because
of
our
bond
we
were
able
to
support
each
other
through
that
challenging
time
and
that's
what
family
is
for-the
good
and
bad
times.
It's
nice
having
my
dad
and
sister
to
share
holidays
and
special
occasions.But
they're
even
more
important
when
it
comes
to
the
little
things
like
having
someone
to
share
my
bad
day
with,celebrate
my
promotion
at
work,or
help
me
think
through
a
difficult
decision.It's
in
these
moments
that
I
just
can't
imagine
being
alone
in
the
world.
I'm
so
glad
that
I
didn't
listen
to
those
people
who
said
I
was
unadoptable,I'd
never
find
a
family,and
that
I
was
putting
myself
out
there
for
rejection.It's
a
risk
for
older
foster
youth
to
consider
adoption.It's
an
opportunity
to
be
rejected
once
again.
But
it's
a
risk
they
should
take
because
life
doesn't
end
at
18.It's
really
just
beginning.
If
you
know
someone
who
might
consider
adopting
an
older
teen,please
share
my
story--and
have
him
or
her
think
of
my
family.They
didn't
get
to
see
my
first
steps
or
watch
me
be
a
pilgrim
in
my
second
grade
Thanksgiving
play.But
they
taught
me
so
many
things
about
life
and
were
there
to
watch
me
walk
across
the
stage
when
I
graduated
from
college
and
law
school
and
accompanied
me
to
the
White
House
last
year
as
I
was
honored
for
my
work
helping
foster
youth.
I
look
forward
to
many
more
Thanksgivings
with
my
family
and
I'm
eternally
thankful
they
chose
me
to
be
a
part
of
their
family.

to
get
by
with
just
a
small
carry-on
bag,"
she
told
CNN.
"I
thought
if
it
feels
this
great
to
travel
lightly,
how
amazing
would
it
be
to
live
this
way?
I
wanted
to
have
that
same
feeling
of
freedom
in
my
everyday
life."
Jay
decided
to
get
rid
of
all
her
excess
(额外)
possessions
and
live
with
just
the
essentials
(必需品).
"I
wanted
to
spend
my
time
and
energy
on
experiences,
rather
than
things."
Jay
is
a
follower
of
a
movement
called
"minimalism
(极简主义)".
Growing
numbers
of
people
have
been
attracted
to
this
lifestyle
all
over
the
world.
They
share
the
same
feeling
of
disappointment
with
modem
life
and
a
desire
to
live
more
simply.
Minimalists
are
typically
progressive
and
concerned
about
the
environment,
Leah
Watkins,
a
lead
researcher
at
Otago
University
in
New
Zealand,
told
Stuff
magazine
in
March.
But
many
simply
experienced
unhappiness
caused
by
owning
too
many
possessions.
Depression
with
the
materialism
of
our
world
isn't
new.
English
romantic
poet
William
Wordsworth
summed
up
how
dispiriting
(令人消沉的)
this
was
back
in
1802,
at
the
beginning
of
the
industrial
age,
when
he
wrote:
"Getting
and
spending,
we
lay
waste
our
powers".
His
preference
was
to
go
back
to
nature.
Closer
to
our
own
times,
the
hippies
(嬉皮士)
of
the
1960s
also
sought
to
“drop
out”
of
modern
life.
And
for
many
minimalists,
their
key
is
to
unload.
Without
objects,
they
"believe
people
are
forced
more
and
more
into
the
present
moment
and
that's
where
life
happens,"
wrote
Stuff.
But
does
simplicity
ever
feel
like
a
sacrifice
(牺牲)?
"It's
eliminating
the
excess-unused
items,
unnecessary
purchases-from
your
life.
Well,
I
may
have
fewer
possessions,
but
I
have
more
space
…Minimalism
is
making
room
for
what
matters
most,
"
said
Jay.
And
"the
real
questions"
according
to
Duane
Elgin,
US
social
scientist,
are
"what
do
you
care
about?
"
and
"What
do
you
value?"
He
told
CNN:
"It's
important
for
people
to
realize
minimalism
isn't
simply
the
amount
of
stuff
we
consume.
It's
about
our
families,
our
work.
our
connection
with
the
larger
world,
our
spiritual
dimension.
It's
about
how
we
touch
the
whole
world.
It's
a
way
of
life.
"

SMART
Goal
Setting
SMART
goal
setting
is
one
of
the
most
valuable
methods
used
by
high
achievers
today
to
actualize(实现)their
life
goals
time
after
time.
SMART
is
an
acronym
(首字母缩略词)
that
stands
for-Specific,
Measurable,
Achievable,
Realistic
and
Time-bound.
____16____
Every
goal
ought
to
be
specific.
Being
clear
about
your
goals
and
expectations
is
the
first
step
to
reaching
them.
____17____
For
example,
“I
will
start
planning
toward
retirement”
is
vague.
Instead,
you
could
say.
“I
will
start
planning
toward
retirement
by
building
up
a
nest
egg.”
This
is
more
specific.
When
you
are
specific
on
your
goal,
it’s
easier
for
you
to
identify
all
its
components
and
work
accordingly
toward
achieving
it.
____18____
If
you
can’t
measure
something,
you
can’t
tell
if
you’re
performing
well
or
if
you’re
off
track.
Setting
measurable
goals
lets
you
evaluate
your
performance
and
stay
on
track.
Goals
should
be
achievable
and
realistic.
____19____
It’s
also
important
not
to
get
too
carried
away
and
use
far-fetched
or
unreachable
goals
as
motivators,
constantly
chasing
an
impossibly
high
goal.
Allow
yourself
to
feel
motivated
by
the
satisfaction
of
achievement
and
real
progress.
Each
goal
has
to
be
time-bound.
____20____
Actually,
it’s
incredibly
important
to
make
your
goals
time-bound.
The
act
of
having
deadlines
set
to
your
goals
is
a
motivation
that
drives
you
into
action.
Without
a
deadline,
it
is
not
possible
for
you
to
know
if
you’re
making
headway
with
your
goals.
A.
Your
goals
must
be
measurable.
B.
That
is
because
your
goals
are
not
specific
enough.
C.
It
is
the
final
letter
of
SMART
that
is
often
ignored.
D.
When
goals
are
too
wide
or
vague,
they
are
easy
to
miss.
E.
To
make
your
SMART
goals
work,
use
the
following
tips.
F.
You
may
wonder
if
this
is
achievable
in
the
given
time
frame.
G.
It’s
important
to
plan
out
goals
that
are
within
realistic
capabilities.

第二节
读后续写(满分25分)
47.
阅读下面短文,根据所给情节进行续写,使之构成一个完整的故事。
Once
there
was
a
slave
named
Androcles,
who
was
so
badly
treated
by
his
master
that
he
resolved
to
run
away
from
him.
He
therefore
secretly
left
his
master’s
house
and
hid
himself
in
a
forest,
some
miles?distant
from
the
city.
After
wandering
about
for
some
time,
he
came
to
a
large
cave,
and
overcome
by
hunger
and
tiredness,
he
lay
down
in
it,
and
soon
fell
fast
asleep.
He
was
suddenly
awakened
by
the
roar
of
a
wild
beast;
a
great
lion
stood
right
at
the
mouth
of
the
cave.
There
was
no
way
he
could
escape!
Androcles
expected
nothing
else
than
to
be
at
once
torn
to
pieces,
but
to
his
great
surprise,
the
lion
came
gently
towards
him,
without
showing
any
signs
of
anger.
It
gave
forth
a
low
and
mournful
(悲哀的)
sound,
as
if
it
were
begging
for
his
assistance.
As
the
lion
approached
him,
he
noticed
that
one
of
its
feet?was
swollen.
He
then
went
up
to
the
lion,
took
hold
of
the
wounded
paw
(爪子)
and
examined
it
as
a
surgeon
would
examine
a
patient.
He
was
not
long
in
finding
out
the
cause
of
the
swelling,
for
he
saw
in
the
ball
of?the
foot
a
very
large
thorn
(刺).
The
slave
pulled
out
the
thorn,
and
pressed
out
of
the
wound
a
quantity
of
matter,
which
gave
the
lion
immediate
relief.
Then,
the
lion
began
to
show
his
gratitude
by
every
means
in
his
power.
He
jumped
about
like
a
playful
spaniel
(西班牙猎犬),
wagged
his
great
tail,
and
licked
the
hands
and
feet
of
his
physician.
From?that
moment
Androcles
became
his
guest;
the
lion
always
shared
his
prey.
The
slave
continued
to
live
like
this
for
several
months.
At
length,
wandering
carelessly
through
the
woods,
he
was
seized
by
a
company
of
soldiers
who
were
sent
by
the
master
to
search
for
him.

Student
loan
(贷款)
debt
has
become
a
worldwide
problem.
In
America,
the
country's
overall
student
debt
reached
a
record
of
$1.6
trillion
in
2019.
The
average
person
with
student
loan
debt
owed
between
$20,000
and
$25,000.
A
recent
Japanese
government
report
says
it
has
been
lending
over
$9
billion
yearly
to
students
since
2010.
Similar
conditions
exist
in
Africa
and
South
America.
Several
factors
account
for
high
student
loan
debt.
One
is
that
employers
everywhere
have
increased
their
demands
for
skilled
workers,
making
higher
education
a
requirement
for
many
jobs.
The
students,
however,
after
graduation,
often
find
that
their
country's
economy
is
not
strong
enough
to
support
their
financial
needs,
so
their
ability
to
pay
back
the
loan
becomes
a
problem.
To
solve
the
problem,
many
countries
are
seeking
their
ways.
Australia
has
developed
a
system
where
students
do
not
have
to
pay
anything
back
until
they
are
earning
at
least
$40,000
a
year.
In
America,
several
candidates
running
for
president
in
the
2020
election
have
offered
more
extreme
solutions
that
all
or
at
least
some
of
these
loans
will
be
forgiven.
Some
professors
in
several
universities
recently
studied
what
the
effects
of
debt
forgiveness
might
be.
They
found
that,
overall,
sudden
debt
relief
greatly
improved
the
borrowers'
lives.
Not
only
did
they
have
more
money,
but
they
were
more
likely
to
move
to
a
new
area
and
seek
better
paying
work.
Yet
the
professors'
research
doesn’t
include
what
might
happen
to
financial
institutions
or
the
overall
economy
if
debt
were
totally
forgiven.
It
only
looks
at
how
debt
forgiveness
would
help
the
borrowers.
They
warn
of
some
other
possible
negative
effects.
If
a
borrower
knew
that
if
he
ran
into
any
trouble
he
would
be
saved
because
he
could
get
the
debt
relief,
then
he
might
actually
become
more
reckless
(轻率的)
with
his
borrowing
in
the
future.
No
matter
what,
the
professors
agree
that
if
countries
do
decide
to
approve
some
student
debt
relief
the
neediest
students
should
be
helped
first.
1.
What
can
we
learn
about
student
loan
debt
relief?
A.
It
will
surely
provide
some
benefits
to
borrowers.
B.
It
has
already
been
carried
out
in
the
United
States.
C.
It
aims
to
encourage
more
students
to
borrow
money.
D.
It
will
prevent
a
person
from
landing
a
well-paying
job.
2.
What
is
the
professors'
attitude
to
debt
forgiveness?
A.
Uncaring
B.
Positive
C.
Disapproving
D.
Cautious
3.
What's
the
main
idea
of
the
text?
A.
Student
loan
debt
is
the
most
serious
problem
worldwide.
B.
Growing
global
student
debt
fuels
search
for
solutions.
C.
Student
loan
debt
tends
to
pull
the
needy
out
of
trouble.
D.
People
hold
different
opinions
on
debt
forgiveness.
【答案】1.
A
2.
D
3.
B
【解析】
【分析】这是一篇说明文。短文介绍了学生债务成全球性问题,各国都在寻求解决方案。
【详解】1.细节理解题。由倒数第三段“They
found
that,
overall,
sudden
debt
relief
greatly
improved
the
borrowers'
lives.
Not
only
did
they
have
more
money,
but
they
were
more
likely
to
move
to
a
new
area
and
seek
better
paying
work.”(他们发现,总的来说,突然的债务减免极大地改善了借款人的生活。他们不仅可以获得更多的钱,而且更有可能搬到一个新的地区,寻找更高收入的工作。)所以债务减免肯定会给借款人带来一些好处。故选A项。
2.推理判断题。根据第五段中“Yet
the
professors’
research
doesn’t
include
what
might
happen
to
financial
institutions
or
the
overall
economy
if
debt
were
totally
forgiven.
It
only
looks
at
how
debt
forgiveness
would
help
the
borrowers.
They
warn
of
some
other
possible
negative
effects”.(他们的研究不包括如果完全免除债务,金融机构或整个经济可能会发生什么。它只着眼于债务免除将如何帮助借款人。他们警告说,还有其他一些可能的负面影响。)由此判断出,教授们对债务免除的态度是谨慎的。故选D项。
3.主旨大意题。由第一段“Student
loan
(贷款)
debt
has
become
a
worldwide
problem.”(学生贷款债务已经成为一个世界性的问题。)由第三段“To
solve
the
problem,
many
countries
are
seeking
their
ways.”为了解决这个问题,许多国家都在寻找解决方案。所以短文主要是关于不断增长的全球学生债务促使各国寻找解决方案。故选B项。
B
Like
a
tired
marriage,
the
relationship
between
libraries
and
publishers
has
long
been
dull.
E-
books,
however,
are
causing
heartache.
Libraries
know
they
need
digital
wares,
but
many
publishers
are
too
cautious
about
piracy(盗版)
and
lost
sales
to
co-operate.
Among
the
big
six,
only
Random
House
and
Harper
Collins
license
e-books
with
most
libraries.
Publishers
are
wise
to
be
nervous.
Owners
of
e-readers(电子阅读器)
are
exactly
the
customers
they
need:
book-lovers
with
money.
If
these
people
switch
to
borrowing
e-books
instead
of
buying
them,
what
then?
Electronic
borrowing
is
awfully
convenient.
Unlike
printed
books,
which
must
be
checked
out
and
returned
to
a
physical
library
miles
from
where
you
live,
book
files
can
be
downloaded
at
home.
The
files
disappear
from
the
device
when
they
are
due.
E-lending
is
not
simple,
however.
There
are
lots
of
different
and
often
incompatible(不兼容的)
e-book
formats,
devices
and
licenses.
Most
libraries
use
a
company
called
OverDrive,
which
secures
rights
from
publishers
and
provides
e-books
and
audio
files
in
every
format.
Yet
publishers
and
libraries
are
worried
by
Over
Drive’s
global
market
dominance(优势),
as
the
company
can
control
fees
and
conditions.
Publishers
were
annoyed
when
OverDrive
cooperated
with
Amazon,
the
world’s
biggest
online
bookseller,
last
year.
Owners
of
Amazon’s
Kindle
e-reader
who
want
to
borrow
e-books
from
libraries
are
now
redirected
to
Amazon’s
website,
where
they
must
use
their
Amazon
account
to
secure
a
loan.
According
to
Pew,
an
opinion
researcher,
library
users
are
a
perfect
market
for
Amazon.
Late
last
year
Amazon
introduced
its
Kindle
Owners’
Lending
Library,
which
lets
its
best
customers
borrow
free
one
of
thousands
of
popular
books
each
month.
Library
supporters
argue
that
book
borrowers
are
also
book
buyers
and
that
libraries
are
vital
spaces
for
readers
to
discover
new
works.
Many
were
cheered
by
a
recent
Pew
survey?which
found
that
more
than
half
of
Americans
with
library
cards
say
they
prefer
to
buy
their
e-books.
So
publishers
keep
adjusting
their
lending
arrangements
in
search
of
the
right
balance.
Random
House
raised
its
licensing
price’s
earlier
this
year,
and
Harper
Collins
limits
libraries
to
lending
its
titles
26
times.
4.
It
can
be
inferred
from
Paragraph

that
________.
A.
several
big
publishers
have
sold
e-books
to
libraries
B.
most

C.
libraries
are
eager
to
keep

relationship
with

D.
libraries

face
the
same
problem
of
e-books’
piracy
5.
Why
are
publishers
worried
that
people
will
switch
to
electronic
borrowing?
A.
E-books
must
be
checked
out
and
returned
to
libraries
regularly.
B.
There
is
no
time
limit
for
the
book
files

on
the

C.
There
are
lots
of
different
and
incompatible
e-book

D.
Book
sales
may
drop
sharply
because
of
convenient
electronic

6.
We
can
learn
from
the
text
that
________.
A.
Amazon

When
I
was
16years
old
and
in
foster
care
(非亲代养)in
Tennessee,people
told
me
I
was
unadoptable.But
I
desperately
wanted
a
family.I
sought
the
help
of
a
judge,even
the
commissioner
of
the
Department
of
Children's
Services
and
was
adopted
just
a
week
before
my
18th
birthday.
We
have
a
lot
to
be
grateful
for
and
this
holiday
season
.Let's
not
forget
about
the
more
than
415000
youth
in
foster
care
especially
older
youth.These
youth
are
the
most
likely
to
get
overlooked
for
adoption
but
they
shouldn't
be.They
need
and
deserve
a
family
just
as
much
as
young
children
do.Making
an
older
youth
a
part
of
your
family
can
bring
just
as
much
a
joy
as
adopting
a
baby
or
a
younger
child-without
all
the
diapers
and
potty
training.
My
adoption
was
life
changing
and
probably
the
best
thing
that
ever
happened
to
me.I
still
remember
the
first
gift
my
parents
gave
to
me.It
was
a
Mickey
Mouse
key
chain
with
a
key
to
their
home.They
told
me
that
no
matter
what
happened
they
would
always
love
me
and
I'd
always
have
a
place
to
come
home
to.This
is
our
17th
Thanksgiving
together…
My
first
Thanksgiving
with
my
family
was
a
little
overwhelming
with
lots
of
extended
family
including
grandparents,aunts,uncles,and
cousins.However,it's
when
I
realized
that
I
would
never
have
to
spend
another
holiday
alone
and
that
was
truly
an
amazing
feeling.
I
was
always
eager
to
spend
time
with
my
little
sister,Beth.She
was
six
when
I
joined
the
family.My
dad
always
says
he
knew
we
were
really
sisters,and
I
was
no
longer
a
guest
in
the
house
when
Beth
and
I
had
our
first
fight.Today,she's
one
of
my
best
friends,and
I'm
her
biggest
cheerleader.
There
were
also
bittersweet
Thanksgivings.One
we
spent
in
my
mom's
hospital
room.It
was
there
that
she
helped
me
plan
my
wedding
but
passed
away
three
weeks
before
the
ceremony,My
dad
walked
me
down
the
aisle,and
my
sister
was
my
maid
of
hono,Because
of
our
bond
we
were
able
to
support
each
other
through
that
challenging
time
and
that's
what
family
is
for-the
good
and
bad
times.
It's
nice
having
my
dad
and
sister
to
share
holidays
and
special
occasions.But
they're
even
more
important
when
it
comes
to
the
little
things
like
having
someone
to
share
my
bad
day
with,celebrate
my
promotion
at
work,or
help
me
think
through
a
difficult
decision.It's
in
these
moments
that
I
just
can't
imagine
being
alone
in
the
world.
I'm
so
glad
that
I
didn't
listen
to
those
people
who
said
I
was
unadoptable,I'd
never
find
a
family,and
that
I
was
putting
myself
out
there
for
rejection.It's
a
risk
for
older
foster
youth
to
consider
adoption.It's
an
opportunity
to
be
rejected
once
again.
But
it's
a
risk
they
should
take
because
life
doesn't
end
at
18.It's
really
just
beginning.
If
you
know
someone
who
might
consider
adopting
an
older
teen,please
share
my
story--and
have
him
or
her
think
of
my
family.They
didn't
get
to
see
my
first
steps
or
watch
me
be
a
pilgrim
in
my
second
grade
Thanksgiving
play.But
they
taught
me
so
many
things
about
life
and
were
there
to
watch
me
walk
across
the
stage
when
I
graduated
from
college
and
law
school
and
accompanied
me
to
the
White
House
last
year
as
I
was
honored
for
my
work
helping
foster
youth.
I
look
forward
to
many
more
Thanksgivings
with
my
family
and
I'm
eternally
thankful
they
chose
me
to
be
a
part
of
their
family.

help
me

I

can’t

being
alone
in
the
world.”(但当涉及到一些小事时,他们甚至更重要——比如有人分享我糟糕的一天,庆祝我工作上的成就,或者帮助我思考一个艰难的决定。正是在这些时刻,我无法想象独自一人生活在这个世界上。)可知,这个家庭总是和她分享快乐和悲伤的时刻,让作者觉得她无法想象独自一人在这个世界上。故选D项。
3.词句猜测题。根据第八段“It’s
a
risk
for
older
foster
youth
to
consider
adoption”(考虑收养大龄儿童是有风险的。)及“
It’s
an
opportunity
to
be
rejected
once
again(这是一个再次被拒绝的机会)可知,大龄儿童不太可能被收养。故选B项。
4.推理判断题。根据倒数第二段“If
you
know
someone
who
might
consider
adopting
an
older
teen,please
share
my
story-and
have
him
or
her
think
of
my
family.”(如果你知道有人可能会考虑收养一个大龄儿童,请分享我的故事,让他或她想一想我的家人。)作者通过这篇文章主要向我们描述了大龄儿童被领养是很困难的,但他们也需要爱和归属感,呼吁更多的人收养大龄儿童。可以推断,作者的目的就是要呼吁更多的人领养大龄儿童。故选C项。

Simplify
Your

for
12years.
"I

she
told
CNN.
"I

I

Jay
decided
to
get
rid

all
her
excess
(额外的)
possessions
and
live
with
just
the
essentials
(必需品).
"I
wanted
to
spend
my

on

rather

things."
Jay
is
a
follower
of
a
movement
called
"minimalism
(极简主义)".
Growing
numbers
of
people
have
been
attracted
to
this

all
over
the

They
share
the
same

a
desire
to
live
more
simply.
Minimalists
are
typically
progressive
and
concerned
about
the
environment,
Leah
Watkins,
a
lead

at
Otago

in
New

told
Stuff

in

But
many

Depression

English

dispiriting

this
was
back
in
1802,
at

when

His

Closer

the

also
sought
to
“drop

of
modern

And
for
many
minimalists
their

is
to

they
"believe

more
and
more
into

that's
where
life
happens,"
wrote
Stuff.
But
does
simplicity
ever
feel
like
a
sacrifice
(牺牲)?
"It's
eliminating
the
excess-unused
items,
unnecessary
purchases-from
your
life.
Well,
I
may
have
fewer
possessions,
but
I
have
more
space
…Minimalism
is

matters
most,
"
said
Jay.
And
"the
real
questions",
according
to
Duane
Elgin,
US
social
scientist,
are
"what
do
you
care
about?
"
and
"What
do
you
value?"
He
told
CNN:
"It's
important
for
people
to
realize
minimalism
isn't
simply
the
amount
of
stuff
we
consume.
It's
about
our
families,
our
work.
our
connection
with
the
larger

our
spiritual
dimension.
It's
about
how
we
touch
the
whole
world.
It's
a
way
of
life.

【13题详解】
细节理解题。根据第四段“They
share
the
same

of
disappointment
with

magazine的采访时表示,极简主义者通常是进步的,并且他们关心环境。
)可知典型的极简主义者们对现代生活是失望的,他们的行为对环境友好,并且他们生活时用的东西较少。故选B项。
【14题详解】
词句猜测题。根据下文中“

said
Jay.
”(杰伊说:“我可能拥有的东西少了,但我有更多的空间...
简约主义为最重要的东西腾出了空间。”)可以推知,为了有更多的空间,简约主义的人会把不必要的东西去掉。所以划线的词的意思为“祛除,移走”,选项A符合文意。故选A项。
【15题详解】
推理判断题。根据倒数第二段“And“the

US
social
scientist,
are“what

人们必须认识到极简主义不仅仅是我们消费的东西的数量。它关乎我们的家庭,我们的工作,我们与更广阔世界的联系,我们的精神层面。)可以推理得知Duane
Elgin认为极简主义使人们能够反思他们生活中真正重要的东西。故选C项。

SMART

SMART

that
stands
for-Specific,
Measurable,
Achievable,
Realistic

Time-bound.
____16____
Every
goal
ought
to
be
specific.
Being
clear
about
your
goals
and
expectations
is
the
first
step
to
reaching
them.
____17____
For
example,
“I
will
start
planning
toward
retirement”
is
vague.
Instead,
you
could
say.
“I
will
start
planning
toward
retirement
by
building
up
a
nest
egg.”
This
is
more
specific.
When
you
are
specific
on
your

it’s
easier
for
you
to

toward
achieving
it.
____18____
If
you
can’t
measure
something,
you
can’t
tell
if
you’re

well
or
if
you’re
off

Setting
measurable
goals
lets
you
evaluate
your

and
stay
on

Goals
should
be

____19____
It’s
also

and
use
far-fetched

constantly
chasing

Allow

Each

____20____
Actually,
it’s
incredibly
important
to
make
your
goals
time-bound.
The
act
of
having
deadlines

to
your

is
a

that

you
into
action.
Without
a
deadline,
it
is
not
possible
for
you
to
know
if
you’re

with
your

A.
Your

must
be
measurable.
B.
That
is
because
your

enough.
C.
It

an
impossibly
high
goal.(同样重要的是,不要过于得意忘形,不要用遥不可及或不可达到的目标作为激励因素,不停地追求一个不可能达到的高目标。)可知,设空处主要讲的是设置现实的目标的重要性。G项:It’s
important
to
plan
out
goals
that
are
within
realistic
capabilities.(在现实能力范围内制定目标是很重要的。)符合语境。故选G。

本文是一篇说明文。主要讲了中国最后一颗北斗导航卫星系统(BDS)卫星发射进入轨道,正式运行,作为一个以利益共享为特征的开放系统,将致力于服务于更多的国家和国际组织。
36题详解】
考查非限制性定语从句。句意:在中国古代,人们用北斗七星来导航。空格前的句子以逗号结尾,且空格所在的句子对前面句进行补充说明,则空格所在的句子是一个非限制性定语从句,从句缺少主语,先行词是the
Big
Dipper,指物,故填关系代词which。
【37题详解】
考查被动语态。句意:中国的导航卫星系统以“北斗”命名,意为“指明正确的方向”。name
after:以…命名,此句描述的是一个事实,且主语navigation
satellite
system与name之间是被动关系,故此处用一般现在时的被动语态。故答案为is
named。
【38题详解】
考查非谓语动词。句意:与其他卫星导航系统相比,BDS在高轨道运行更多的卫星,并以更多的频率传输导航信号。分析句子结构,可知空格所在的部分是句子的状语,非谓语动词的复合结构可以作句子的状语,BDS与compare是逻辑上的被动关系,故用过去分词,此处作比较状语。故答案为Compared。
【39题详解】
考查固定短语。句意:除了导航之外,该系统还提供各种服务,如短消息通信和免费的国际搜索和救援援助。apart
from:除了;若无;要不是。故答案为from。
【40题详解】
考查名词。句意:除了导航之外,该系统还提供各种服务,如短消息通信和免费的国际搜索和救援援助。由空前的形容词international可知,空格处要填一个名词。故答案为assistance。
【41题详解】
考查冠词。句意:作为一个以利益共享为特征的开放系统,工商发展服务一直在寻求为更广泛的国家和国际组织服务。open
system是一个名词短语,且没有提示词,故空格处填冠词,open的发音是以元音因素开始的。故答案为an。
【42题详解】
考查形容词的比较级。句意:作为一个以利益共享为特征的开放系统,工商发展服务一直在寻求为更广泛的国家和国际组织服务。根据下文“are
now
being
used
in
more
than
120
countries
and
regions.”可知此处指寻求为更广泛的国家和国际组织服务,故用形容词的比较级。故答案为wider。
【43题详解】
考查名词。句意:据报道,目前有120多个国家和地区正在使用与BDS相关的产品。空格前是形容词-related,故空格处填名词,且表示多种产品,用名词复数形式。故答案为products。
【44题详解】
考查副词。句意:中国也在积极与俄罗斯和欧洲国家沟通,以提高BDS的兼容性,使其能够更好地为全球用户服务。空格所在的句子主干成分完整,此处用副词修饰谓语is
communicating。故答案为actively。
【45题详解】
考查非谓语动词。句意:中国也在积极与俄罗斯和欧洲国家沟通,以提高BDS的兼容性,使其能够更好地为全球用户服务。分析句子结构可知句子的谓语是is
communicating,故空格处填非谓语动词,根据句意,此处表目的,故用不定式作目的状语。故答案为to
improve。

Androcles,

treated
by
his

that
he
resolved

from
him.
He
therefore
secretly
left
his

and
hid

in

After

pulled
out
the
thorn,
and
pressed
out

which
gave
the
lion
immediate
relief.
Then,
the
lion
began
to
show
his

He
jumped
about

【解析】
【分析】
本篇书面表达是读后续写。
【详解】通过阅读所给文章可知,作从前有一个名叫安卓可利斯的奴隶,他受到主人的虐待,决定从主人那里逃走。因此,他偷偷地离开了他主人的家,躲在一个森林里。在森林中他遇到了一个受伤的狮子,并帮狮子处理伤口,狮子非常的感谢安卓可利斯。
续写部分分为两段,第一段开头是:他被判处在公共竞技场被狮子撕咬,所以应该写他在被送到竞技场后他的无助。要详细描述安卓可利斯的无助和失望以及对自己无处可逃,没有生还机会的内心的挣扎等。第二段开头是:然而,狮子并没有像大多数人想象的那样行动。本段应该写狮子的反常,安卓可利斯对发现这正是自己在森林里所救的狮子的惊讶以及狮子带着自己的救命恩人逃跑。
续写时要求注意所续写短文的词数应为150左右;续写完成后,按要求完成写作任务。
