比喻分为明喻和暗喻（又称隐喻）。明喻是把两种具有共同特征的事物或现象进行对比，暗示了主体与喻体之间的共同性。隐喻（暗喻），表示把某事物比拟成和它有相似关系的另一种事物。本讲不具体区别它们的异同，只关注如何在写作中运用。有些英汉中的喻体存在不对应，如果不注意就会导致中式英语。
