A
Marian
Wright
Edelman,
an
American
lawyer,
educator
and
children's
rights
activist,
was
born
on
June
6,
1939
in
South
Carolina,
one
of
five
children.
Her
father
Arthur
Wright
was
a
preacher
(牧师)
who
died
when
she
was
only
14
years
old.
In
his
last
words
to
her,
he
advised
her
not
to
“let
anything
get
in
the
way
of
your
education”.
After
high
school,
Edelman
went
on
to
study
at
Spelman
College
and
later
traveled
to
the
Soviet
Union.
When
she
returned
to
Spelman
in
1959,
Edelman
became
involved
in
the
civil
rights
movement.
This
work
inspired
her
to
drop
her
plans
to
enter
the
Foreign
Service
and
study
law
instead.
In
1973,
Edelman
set
up
the
Children's
Defense
Fund
as
a
voice
for
poor
and
disabled
children.
She
served
as
a
public
speaker
on
behalf
of
these
children.
During
a
tour,
Marian
met
Peter
Edelman,
an
assistant
to
Kennedy,
and
the
next
year
she
moved
to
Washington,
D.C.to
marry
him
and
to
work
for
social
justice
in
the
center
of
America's
political
scene.
The
couple
had
three
sons:
Joshua,
Jonah
and
Ezra.
Jonah
is
the
founder
of
Stand
for
Children,
a
group
that
promotes
children's
education,
and
Ezra
is
a
documentary
(纪录片)
filmmaker
who
won
an
Emmy
for
his
film
“O.J.:
Made
in
America”.
Edelman
is
the
author
of
many
books
for
children
and
adults.
Her
titles
for
readers
include
I'm
Your
child,
God:
Prayers
for
Our
Children,
Guide
My
Feet:
Prayers
and
Meditations
for
Our
Children,
Lanterns:
A
Memoir
of
Mentors,
and
The
Measure
of
Our
Success:
A
Letter
to
My
Children
and
Yours,
which
was
a
surprising
success.

D.C.
B.In

A.They

B.They

D.They

to
their
mother's

B
In
most
developed
countries
the
government
provides
free
education
for
children
because
it
realizes
that
educated
citizens
are
useful
to
the
country
in
their
later
life.
Most
countries
also
have
private
(私立的)
education.
This
means
that
parents
can
pay
to
send
their
children
to
certain
schools.
People
who
agree
with
this
system
say
that
it
gives
parents
a
larger
choice
of
schools.
Other
people
think
that
private
schools
give
the
children
who
go
to
them
an
unfair
advantage
over
other
children.
At
the
age
of
three,
many
children
go
to
nursery
school.
Two
or
three
years
later,
they
enter
a
primary
school.
At
the
age
of
11
they
go
to
a
secondary
school.
Then
they
may
have
a
chance
of
continuing
their
studies
at
a
university
or
college.
Universities
and
colleges
are
places
where
some
young
people
go
to
continue
their
education
after
leaving
school.
Most
university
students
study
one
main
subject,
though
they
may
also
study
a
number
of
others.
Teaching
is
usually
by
lectures,
or
by
discussions
between
a
lecturer
and
students.
Most
students
stay
at
university
for
three
or
four
years.
At
the
end
of
that,
they
take
an
examination.
If
they
pass,
they
receive
their
Bachelor's
degree,
usually
a
BA,
which
is
short
for
Bachelor
of
Arts,
or
a
BS
for
Bachelor
of
Science.
Some
students
study
for
several
more
years
in
order
to
get
higher
degree,
such
as
a
MA
or
a
PhD.
Most
university
courses
don't
train
students
to
do
a
certain
job.
Colleges,
on
the
other
hand,
usually
teach
skills
which
enable
students
to
follow
a
career
(职业),
such
as
clothing
design,
or
business
studies.
5.The
passage
mainly
tells
us
________.
A.something
about
the
private
schools
in
developed
countries
B.how
developed
countries
pay
attention
to
education
C.some
general
information
about
education
in
developed
countries
D.why
education
is
important
6.Why
do
most
developed
countries
provide
free
education
to
children?
A.Because
the
children
don't
have
money
to
go
to
school.
B.Because
the
government
want
their
citizens
to
be
useful
to
the
country.
C.Because
education
doesn't
cost
the
country
too
much
money.
D.Because
there
are
not
enough
private
schools.
7.In
the

the

A.the

B.members
of
a

C.the

D.people

the
university
for
three
or
four
years,
all
the
students
can

receive
a

Jennifer
Mauer
has
needed
more
willpower
than
the
typical
college

to
pursue
her
goal
of

a
nursing
degree.
That
willpower
bore
fruit
when
Jennifer
graduated
from
University
of
Wisconsin?Eau
Claire
and
became
the
first
in
her
large

and
her

ran
the
farm
with
the
kids.
After
high
school,
Jennifer
attended
a
local
technical
college,
working
to
pay
her
tuition
(学费),
because
there
was
no
extra
money
set

After

doing
something
she

be
home
in

great
support
from
her
family

Her

worked
two
jobs
to
cover
the
bills,
and
her
68?year?old
mother
helped
take
care
of
the
children
at
times.
Through
it
all,
she
remained
in
good
academic
standing
and
graduated
with
honors.
Jennifer
sacrificed
(牺牲)
to
achieve
her
goal,
giving
up
many
nights
with
her
kids
and
missing
important
events
to
study.
“Some
nights
my
heart
was
breaking
to
have
to
pick
between
my
kids
and
studying
for
exams
or
papers,”
she
says.

her
children
have
learned
an
important
lesson
witnessing

Do
you
know
sand
has
been
used
to
draw
pictures
since
ancient
times?
Today,
sand
painting
(沙画),
all
interesting
art,will
be
introduced
to
you.
Sand
painting
is
an
art
of
using
sand
to
make
a
fixed
or
unfixed
painting.
Maybe
we
all
played
fixed
sand
painting
as
we
were
young.
We
first
drew
a
simple
picture,
then
we
brushed
glue
(胶水)
onto
the
section,
and
at
last
we
poured
colored
sand
onto
the
glue
in
order
to
make
it
fixed.
Unfixed
sand
paintings
have
a
long
cultural
history
around
the
world.
People
pour
sand
on
a
surface
to
make
paintings
or
use
some
tools
to
draw
pictures
in
the
sand
directly.
They
are
often
temporary
(临时的).
Different
people
draw
sand
paintings
to
express
different
meanings:love
of
nature,
admiration
for
beauty,
etc.
Nowadays,
sand
painting
becomes
a
performance
art
and
its
popularity
has
risen.
On
the
stage,
sand
painting
performers
make
a
series
of
images
by
drawing
lines
and
figures
in
the
sand
with
their
fingers
and
hands.
The
series
of
images
are
used
to
tell
a
story.
Kseniya
Simonova,
who
is
from
Ukraine,
is
one
of
the
greatest
sand
painting
performers
in
the
world.
Simonova
said
that
she
never
dreamed
she'd
become
a
sand
artist,
and
when
she
began
practicing,
she
nearly
gave
it
up.
But
she
persevered,_caring
for
a
household
by
day
and
training
every
night.
You
Are
Always
Nearby
is
one
of
the
most
famous
performances
of
Simonova.
It
is
a
story
about
a
young
couple
separated
by
a
war
in
which
the
soldier
is
tragically
killed,
but
returns
in
spirit
to
watch
over
his
wife
and
child.
This
performance
makes
all
audience
cry.
Art
is
everywhere
and
is
not
far
away
from
common
people.
The
art
of
painting
is
in
our
life,
even
in
the
sand.
5.Which
of

Ⅰ.阅读理解
A
I
grew
up
in
a
house
where
the
TV
was
seldom
turned
on
and
with
one
wall
in
my
bedroom
entirely
lined
with
bookshelves,
most
of
my
childhood
was
spent
on
books
I
could
get
hold
of.
In
fact,
I
grew
up
thinking
of
reading
as
natural
as
breathing
and
books
unbelievably
powerful
in
shaping
perspectives
(观点)
by
creating
worlds
we
could
step
into,
take
part
in
and
live
in.
With
this
unshakable
belief,
I,
at
fourteen,
decided
to
become
a
writer.
Here
too,
reading
became
useful.
Every
writer
starts
off
knowing
that
he
has
something
to
say,
but
being
unable
to
find
the
right
ways
to
say
it.
He
has
to
find
his
own
voice
by
reading
widely
and
discovering
which
parts
of
the
writers
he
agrees
or
disagrees
with,
or
agrees
with
so
strongly
that
it
reshapes
his
own
world.
He
cannot
write
without
loving
to
read,
because
only
through
reading
other
people's
writing
can
one
discover
what
works,
what
doesn't
and,
in
the
end,
together
with
lots
of
practice,
what
voice
he
has.
Now
I
am
in
college,
and
have
come
to
realize
how
important
it
is
to
read
fiction
(文学作品).
As
a
law
student,
my
reading
is
in
fact
limited
to
subject
matter—the
volume
(量)
of
what
I
have
to
read
for
classes
every
week
means
there
is
little
time
to
read
anything
else.
Such
reading
made
it
all
the
clearer
to
me
that
I
live
in
a
very
small
part
in
this
great
place
called
life.
Reading
fiction
reminds
me
that
there
is
life
beyond
my
own.
It
allows
me
to
travel
across
the
high
seas
and
along
the
Silk
Road,
all
from
the
comfort
of
my
own
armchair,
to
experience,
though
secondhand,
exciting
experiences
that
I
wouldn't
necessarily
be
able
to
have
in
my
lifetime.

During
the
15th
century,
spices
(香料)
from
India
were
very
popular
in
Europe,
however,
the
only
way
to
travel
from
Europe
to
India
was
over
land.
This
was
a
long
and
expensive
trip.
The
King
of
Portugal
realized
if
he
could
find
a
way
to
get
to
India
by
sailing
on
the
ocean,
he
would
become
rich
by
trading
spices
in
Europe.
An
explorer
(探险家)
by
the
name
of
Bartolomeu
Dias
had
discovered
the
Cape
of
Good
Hope
at
the
tip
of
Africa.
It
was
thought
that
there
may
be
a
way
around
the
Cape
and
to
the
northeast
towards
India.
However,
many
were
skeptical
and
thought
that
the
Indian
Ocean
did
not
connect
with
the
Atlantic
Ocean.
Vasco
da
Gama,
who
was
born
in
1460s
to
a
wealthy
Portuguese
family
in
Sines,
was
given
a
fleet
of
ships
by
the
king
and
told
to
discover
a
sea
route
(路线)
around
Africa
to
India.
He
was
also
told
to
look
for
other
trading
possibilities
along
the
way.
Vasco
da
Gama
left
on
his
first
voyage
(航行)
from
Lisbon,
Portugal,
with
four
ships
and
170
men
on
July
8,
1497.Gama
and
his
men
rounded
the
southern
tip
of
Africa
at
the
Cape
of
Good
Hope
on
November
22.
They
then
headed
north
up
the
coast
of
Africa.
They
stopped
at
trading
ports
along
the
way
including
Mombasa
and
Malindi.
At
Malindi
(about
120
km
northeast
of
Mombasa),
they
picked
up
a
local
pilot
who
knew
the
direction
to
India.
With
the
help
of
a
monsoon
wind
they
were
able
to
cross
the
Indian
Ocean
and
arrive
in
Calicut,
India
in
less
than
a
month
(on
May
20,
1498).
At
Calicut,
Vasco
ran
into
serious
trouble
when
trying
to
trade.
He
had
brought
little
of
value
in
his
ships.
This
made
the
local
traders
doubtful
of
him
and
very
soon
he
had
to
leave.
The
voyage
back
was
disastrous.
Around
half
of
his
men
died
from
scurvy
(坏血病)
as
the
trip
back
took
much
longer
because
of
the
winds
not
blowing
in
his
favor.
However,
when
he
returned
home,
he
was
still
a
hero.
He
had
found
the
much
needed
trade
route
to
India.

as
breathing...and
live
in.”可知作者把阅读当成是和呼吸一样自然的事情。说明阅读已经成为作者生活的一部分了,故D正确。
2.答案与解析:C 词义猜测题。根据前一句“Every
writer
starts
off
knowing...right
ways
to
say
it.”每一个作家都知道他们有话要说,但是有时却找不到正确的方法把要说的话说出来。根据本句“He
has
to
find
his
own
voice
by
reading
widely”可知要通过广泛阅读找到自己的表达思想的方法,所以本句中的voice就是指作者的写作方法,故C正确。
3.答案与解析:B 推理判断题。根据文章最后两句“Reading
fiction
reminds
me...”可知阅读让自己跳出小圈子,让自己了解到更多的知识,呈现给作者一个更为广阔的世界,故B正确。
4.答案与解析:A 主旨大意题。作者在文章第一段中介绍了自己的童年就是在阅读中度过的,接着又介绍了阅读的重要作用,阅读让自己领略了外面的世界。所以本文主要告诉我们为什么我们要阅读,故A正确。
【语篇解读】 本文是记叙文。文章介绍了葡萄牙探险家达·伽马第一次航行到印度的原因及过程。
5.答案与解析:B 猜测词义题。由第一段中的“there
may
be
a
way...
towards
India”和画线词后的“the
Indian
Ocean
did
not
connect
with
the
Atlantic
Ocean”可知,因为许多人认为印度洋与大西洋不相连,所以他们对绕过好望角有到达印度的路线这一想法持怀疑态度。
6.答案与解析:C 细节理解题。第一段解释了葡萄牙国王派遣达·伽马出行的原因“find
a
way
to
get
to
India...
trading
spices
in
Europe”,再由第二段中的“told
to
discover
a
sea
route
around
Africa
to
India”可知,达·伽马第一次航行到印度的目的是寻找一条贸易路线。
7.答案与解析:D 细节理解题。由第三段描述达·伽马第一次从欧洲航海到印度的路线“left
on
his
first
voyage
from
Lisbon...
rounded...
at
the
Cape
of
Good
Hope...
At
Malindi
(about
120
km
northeast
of
Mombasa)...
cross
the
Indian
Ocean
and
arrive
in
Calicut”可知答案。
8.答案与解析:D 推理判断题。由第三段中的“He
had
brought
little
of
value...
doubtful
of
him”可知,到达Calicut之后,由于船上有价值的东西太少,因此达·伽马和他的船员们在那里不受当地商人的欢迎。
Ⅱ.完形填空
【语篇解读】 本文是一篇记叙文。作者讲述了自己从一个自私的人变成现在能为他人着想的人的感受和过程。上大学时一心只想着拿学位而拼搏,结果一个朋友都没有感到很孤单。后来作者在Vista护理之家,结识了一位改变了她、把她当作女儿的重病缠身的老妇人。老人告诉她:只有别人感到高兴自己才快乐。
1.答案与解析:B 考查连词辨析。since自从;before在……之前;or或者;unless除非。before在……之前,表示的含义是在考虑自己之前先考虑别人,对应前边的改变自我为中心。故选B。
2.答案与解析:C 考查形容词辨析。句意:变成了不同于以前的人。famous著名的;simple简单的;different不同的;skilled有技巧的。故选C项。

person,通过一次经历发生了变化并对比自己的今昔,所以可得出是态度(attitude)的变化。attitude态度;hobby爱好;hope希望;luck幸运。故选A。
9.答案与解析:B 考查形容词辨析。通过空格后面的“because
she
thought
I
was
her
daughter”可推测出old
lady是非常高兴的。polite礼貌;happy快乐;strange奇怪;confident自信。故选B。
10.答案与解析:C 考查动词辨析。通过文中信息得知old
lady是一个病人,所以可推测出是来看望(visit)自己。bothered打扰;answered回答;visited参观;trusted信任。故选C。
11.答案与解析:D 考查动词辨析。see看,观察;explain解释;declare宣称;guess猜测。此处语意为:是她让我看见让别人开心自己也会开心。故选D。
12.答案与解析:B 考查形容词辨析。由“she
died,
I
was
__12__,
but
I
was
also
very
grateful
to
her.”可知作者当时的心情肯定是悲伤的。homeless无家可归的;heartbroken心碎的;bad?tempered坏脾气的;hopeless没希望的。故选B。
13.答案与解析:C 考查形容词辨析。作者通过这次经历使自己变得更好。quieter更安静;busier更忙;better更好;richer更富有。故选C。
14.答案与解析:D 考查动词辨析。作者通过这次经历使自己变得更好,所以可推测这次经历教会(taught)了自己什么。forced强迫;preferred更喜欢;ordered命令;taught教。故选D。
15.答案与解析:B 考查动词辨析。通过文章可推测出与之前比较作者更喜欢(like)现在的自己,选like,其他选项均不符合语境。miss想念;错过;like喜欢;wonder想知道;expect期待。故选B。

In
today's
society,language
plays
a
key
role
in
defining
gender(性别)
by
vocabulary,and
also
the
non?verbal
(非语言的)
vocabulary.
Each
one
of
these
different
types
of
ways
of
communicating
is
obviously
different
between
men
and
women.
Many
different
studies
show
that
men
tend
to
talk
much
more
than
women.
It
has
also
been
proven
that
women
tend
to
speak
faster
than
men;this
is
due
to
the
fact
that
women
tend
to
be
interrupted
more
often
than
men
are,and
also
have
the
ability
to
speak
more
clearly,precisely,and
more
quickly
than
men.
In
one
study
it
was
found
that
women
spoke
for
an
average
of
three
minutes
describing
a
painting,as
opposed
to
the
thirteen?minute
average
it
took
men
to
describe
it.
Men
and
women
also
tend
to
have
a
very
different
non?verbal
way
of
communicating,which
can
also
make
it
very
hard
for
one
another
to
understand
what
the
opposite
sex
is
trying
to
say.
Men's
body
language
is
much
more
reserved
when
they
are
talking
to
women.
Men
tend
not
to
make
as
much
eye
contact
and
they
generally
stay
farther
away
from
women
when
talking
to
them.
Men
avoid
other
people's
body
space
while
talking,and
they
also
tend
to
sit
back
when
talking.
All
of
these
have
given
off
the
impression
of
disinterest
or
boredom.
Women
are
by
far
better
listeners
and
much
more
enjoyable
to
talk
with
and
they
tend
to
raise
more
topics
for
conversation.
Women
also
make
it
clearer
whether
or
not
the
conversation
is
going
somewhere
or
just
stuck
in
neutral.
After
learning
about
our
styles
of
communicating
with
each
other,I
have
decided
that
although
men
have
not
quite
mastered
communicating,what
fun
would
it
be
if
we
all
spoke
the
same
“language”?
The
little
games
men
and
women
play
with
each
other
while
conversing
would
be
lost.
The
question
everyone
asks
himself
or
herself
after
talking
with
someone
of
the
opposite
sex,“I
wonder
if
there's
something
there?”
would
no
longer
exist.

A.The

men's

women's

B.The
different

of
men's

C.The
ability
of
men's
and
women's

non?verbal

of

what
way
do
men

differ

the

of

Scientists
may
have
evidence
that
our
personality
plays
into
our
eating
habits.
People
who
are
open
and
extroverted
(外向的)
eat
more
fruits
and
vegetables
than
others,according
to
new
research.
The
new
report,published
in
the
journal
Frontiers
in
Psychology,analyzed
the
eating
habits
of
more
than
1,000
young
adults
ages
17
to
25.
Researchers
gave
participants
a
test
to
measure
for
the
“Big
Five”
personalities:
openness
to
experience,conscientiousness
(尽责性),extroversion,agreeableness,and
neuroticism
(神经质).
Then
they
asked
some
participants
to
keep
a
food
diary
for
21
days
and
others
for
13
days,in
hopes
of
encouraging
more
people
to
complete
the
task.
Participants
who
scored
higher
than
average
for
openness
ate
about
4.5
more
servings
of
combined
fruits
and
vegetables
per
week
than
those
less
open
ones.
They
also
consumed
(消耗)
less
unhealthy
food,such
as
potato
chips
or
fries.
Extroversion
also
had
a
positive
effect
on
fruits
and
vegetable
consumption,though
not
as
strongly
as
openness
did,while
conscientiousness
was
a
weak
predictor
of
produce
consumption.
Of
course,the
study
only
found
an
association
between
the
characteristic
and
eating
habits,rather
than
a
direct
causation.
It's
likely
that
people
who
are
open
to
new
experiences
take
those
same
attitudes
toward
food,study
author
Tamlin
Conner,a

the
University
of

The
Huffington
Post.
Their
personality
may
make
them
more
eager
to

new
fruits
and
vegetables.
But
it's
also
possible
that
eating
healthy
foods
can
cause
anyone
to
feel
more
like
an
extrovert:
Another
of
Conner's
studies
found
that
in
the
short
term,eating
more
fruits
and
vegetables
resulted
in
more
feelings
of
motivation,which
she
says
are
key
characteristics
of
extroversion.
So,you
want
to
eat
better?
Start
eating

“Try

As
a
child
grows
up,you
may
wonder
how
you
can
teach
him
to
become
a
respectful
adult.
__36__
A
child
who
learns
to
respect
not
only
learns
to
receive
respect
from
others
in
kind,but
also
learns
to
respect
himself.
Show
him
respect.
This
is
the
best
way
to
teach
your
child
how
to
respect
others.
Listen
to
your
child
attentively
and
he
will
learn
to
listen
to
you,understanding
how
important
this
is
in
communication.
__37__
The
more
you
say
“please”
and
“thank
you”
to
your
child,the
more
likely
he
will
learn
to
use
them.
Politeness
then
becomes
a
normal
part
of
any
conversation.
Agree
to
disagree.
__38__
Explain
your
decision
so
that
he
will
understand
you
and
expect
respectful
responses.
Disagreeing
with
you
doesn't
necessarily
mean
disobedience
(不顺从).
Control
your
impulse
to
overreact.
When
a
situation
arises,stay
calm
and
keep
in
mind
that
you
are
supposed
to
be
modelling
correct
behaviour.
__39__
Praise,praise,praise.
So
much
is
focused
on
what
a
child
does
wrong
and
how
to
correct
it
that
his
accomplishments
are
not
celebrated
enough.
__40__
A.If
he
sees
you
lose
your
temper,he
is
more
likely
to
respond
with
that
way
in
future.
B.Try
to
remember
that
a
child
won't
always
agree
with
you.
C.Seeing
a
child
exhibit
respectful
behaviour,make
sure
he
knows
how
proud
you
are
of
him.
D.Teach
manners
by
using
polite
requests
and
responses.
E.A
child
may
act
as
he
pleases,and
he
will
live
a
happy
life.
F.Respect
is
necessary
for
a
meaningful
and
successful
life.
G.Respectful
behaviour
is
always
accompanied
by
bad
behaviour
as
a
child.

第二节(满分25分)
阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
It
was
time
to
go
home.
“Remember
to
work
on
your
class
speeches
for
homework,”Miss
Walker
called,as
everyone
started
talking
and
packing
their
schoolbags.
Jenny
felt
sick.
She
hated
having
to
read
aloud
in
class.
She
was
sure
everyone
got
really
bored
listening
to
her.
Once,when
Jenny
was
reading
out
her
holiday
diary,Lee
was
even
looking
at
his
watch,a
silver
and
blue
one
which
seemed
just
magical.
Jenny
watched
Lee
walk
ahead
of
her
as
they
left
school.
He
seemed
so
clever,and
he
had
a
certain
sort
of
shining
confidence.
He
was
just
one
of
those
people
who
were
good
at
everything.
Jenny
sighed.
As
she
turned
the
corner,she
saw
Lee's
watch
lying
right
in
the
middle
of
the
path.
Jenny
knew
she
should
just
pick
it
up
and
return
it
to
him,but
she
didn't
want
to
run
after
him.
Jenny
bent
down
quickly,picked
up
the
watch
and
ran
home.
On
arriving
home,Jenny
put
it
on
almost
without
thinking.
She
was
surprised
it
fitted
so
well.
She
walked
to
the
mirror
and
started
practicing
her
speech.
Words
just
flooded
out
of
her.
“I'm
going
to
talk
about
swimming.
I
have
been
lucky.
I've
won
lots
of
competitions.
But
when
I'm
in
a
race,I'm
not
really
thinking
about
winning.
I'm
just
loving
the
feeling
of
being
in
the
water...”Jenny
laughed
with
excitement.
She
walked
across
the
room.
She
suddenly
seemed
to
have
a
certain
sort
of
confidence.
Turning
back
to
the
mirror,Jenny
saw
a
flash
of
light
from
the
watch
in
the
glass.
The
flashes
of
silver
seemed
almost
magical.
So
maybe
Lee's
watch
really
did
have
something
magic
about
it.
The
next
day,as
the
lesson
began,Miss
Walker
asked
who
was
going
to
be
brave
and
go
first.
Nobody
moved.
Jenny
slowly
raised
her
arm.
Before
Miss
Walker
could
say
anything,there
was
a
shout
from
behind.
“She's
stolen
my
watch!”Lee
said
angrily.
“It
went
missing
at
school
yesterday.”
注意:
1.续写词数应为150左右;
2.请按如下格式作答。
Everybody
was
fixing
their
eyes
on
Jenny,waiting
for
an
explanation.

W:
Yes,sir.
Please
calm
down
and
explain
exactly
what
is
happening.
M:
Calm
down???
My
car
has
broken
down
on
the
freeway.
I
have
a
lady
passenger,and
she's
going
to
have
a
baby.
W:
Explain
exactly
where
you
are.
M:
I'm...
I'm
on
the
Lincoln
Expressway,
heading
south,
about
15
miles
from
the
Washington
Tunnel,and
this
lady
isn't
going
to
wait.
W:
OK.
What's
your
name,
sir?
And
your
passenger's
name?
M:
It's...
it's
Bob,and
I
have
no
idea
about
the
woman.
She's
in
no
condition
to
tell
me.
W:
I've
just
sent
an
ambulance
to
your
position.
They
should
be
there
any
second
now.
M:
Hey,is
there
anything
I
can
do
while
we
wait?
W:
Uh,
yes,
keep
her
calm
and
warm.
(Text

M:
Oh,great!
I
finally
have
a
short
break
after
working
for
such
a
long
time!
W:
I
am
so
glad
to
hear
that.
Anyway,
you
have
worked
hard
for
a
couple
of
weeks.
But
what's
your
plan?
M:
Er,
maybe
I
will
have
a
good
sleep
first.
You
know,
I
have
a
couple
of
days
to
rest.
W:
I
admire
you
so
much!
But
only
that?
M:
I
will
take
my
wife
out
for
dinner.
She
is
always
saying
that
she
has
never
been
invited
by
me
after
the
wedding.
W:
Oh,
how
romantic!
Have
you
thought
about
going
shopping
with
friends?
M:
Oh,no.
Instead,
I
will
go
on
a
short
trip
with
my
friends
to
the
West
Mountain.
W:
Wonderful!
You
will
have
a
good
time.
M:
And
then
we
will
have
a
picnic
there.
W:
Wow.
Good
plan!
(Text
9)
W:
Good
evening,
sir.
M:
Good
evening.
I'd
like
a
single
room
for
tonight.
W:
Yes,
sir.
Did
you
book
a
room
earlier?
M:
I
am
sorry,I
didn't.
W:
Don't
worry.
Let
me
check
it.
With
or
without
a
bath?
M:
Better
with
a
bath
if
possible.
W:
We
have
an
inside
room
with
a
bath
on
the
fifteenth
floor,and
an
outside
room
without
a
bath
on
the
fifth
floor.
M:
But
how
much
are
they?
W:
The
room
with
a
bath
is
80
dollars
per
night,
and
the
one
without
a
bath
is
55
dollars.
You
will
have
a
discount
if
staying
for
a
week.
M:
Thanks,
but
I
am
only
planning
to
stay
for
a
night.
And
I
will
take
the
room
with
a
bath.
What's
the
checkout
time?
W:
12:00,
sir.
M:
That
means
you
charge
for
a
full
day
if
I
don't
check
out
by
then,regardless
of
my
check?in
time?
W:
Yes,that's
right.
M:
Oh,
I
see,
Thanks.
W:
You
are
welcome.

But
do
you

Santa

The
history
of
Santa

in
the

with
a
man
called
Saint
Nicholas.
Saint
Nicholas
lived
in
Myra,
which

Turkey.
He

he
