教学内容
PEP第五册Unit 4 What can you do（Let’s try & Let’s talk）
本课是本单元的第二课时，主要是对话学习，重点是能说出自己会做哪些家务活。
教学目标
能听懂、会说“Are you helpful at home What can you do I can … You’re helpful !”
并能在实际情景中运用。
通过谈论自己会做的家务，激发学生的劳动热情和自豪感，同时让学生懂得要尊敬老人，帮助老人。
教学重点和难点
教学重点：句型“What can you do I can …”
教学难点：句子“Are you helpful at home ”，在实际情景中正确运用所学对话。
四、教具准备
PPT课件、录音机、磁带、单词卡片、句型卡、Miss White 头饰、Chen Jie 头饰
教学过程
Step 1. Warm －up
Let’s Chant
老师播放Part A 的录音，学生跟唱歌谣。
Dog, dog, what can you do
I can run after you!
Panda, panda, what can you do
I can eat so much bamboo!
Mouse, mouse, what can you do
I can hide in the shoe!
Mike, Mike, what can you do
I can draw animals in the zoo!
（设计意图：用一首琅琅上口的Let’s Chant 活跃课堂气氛，将学生带入轻松愉悦的英语学习氛围中，激发他们的学习兴趣，并为新句型的教学做好铺垫）
2.“Look and say ”,看图片，说词组。教学用图出示上一课时所学词组，比一比哪组学生说得最快。
3.“I say, you do .”教师说指令，学生站起来做动作并跟读一遍。如“sweep the floor, cook the meals”等等。
（设计意图：通过看图片说词组、听指令做动作等游戏来复习旧知，为新授知识做准备。）
Step2. Presentation
教授单词 helpful
PPT出示小女孩做家务，师介绍：This is Mary, she can do many things. She can sweep the floor, she can cook the meals, she can clean the bedroom .Is she helpful 出示单词helpful并让学生跟读该单词。
学习句型 Are you helpful at home
（1）T：She is helpful. Are you helpful at home What can you do at home 引导学生用I can …来回答
S1: I can sweep the floor.
S2: I can cook the meals.
（2）游戏：采访大接龙
运用采访的形式，围绕问题“What can you do？”以小组为单元开展大接龙比赛。
（设计意图：通过全员参与“采访”活动，强化句开型的运用，调动学生学习的积极性和主动性。）
课文Let’s try 学习
老师PPT出示Mike 的图片说：This is our old friend, Mike. Is he helpful at home What can he do Can you guess 让学生先来猜猜Mike 能干什么。
播放课文Let’s try的录音内容，学生做听力练习。
课文Let’s talk 学习
（1）听磁带，回答两个问题
Q1: Is Chen Jie helpful at home
Q2: What can she do
跟录音读课文，师带读课文。
学生配带头饰表演读课文。
教师出示Let’s talk 部分的句子卡，小组抢读，再请学生上台按顺序把句子贴到黑板上后，全班齐读。
（设计意图：用多种形式读课文，这样既能让学生多操练课文内容，又能让学生不觉得枯燥无味，提高学生的学习积极性）
Step 3 .Consolidation
课件出示活动手册上的练习，学生听录音完成练习。
“争做爱心小天使”活动
小组讨论What can you do for the old people ，并评出爱心小天使
（设计意图：通过争做爱心小天使活动，巩固练习本课时句型，同时让学生懂得要尊敬老人，帮助老人。）
