Ⅰ.阅读理解

Few
of
us
haven't
read
Cinderella,
the
story
of
a
young
woman
living
in
poverty
who
meets
the
prince
of
her
dreams.
Some
might
not
want
to
admit
it,
but
there
is
a
hidden
Cinderella
in
everyone's
heart—we
all
wish
we
could
achieve
recognition
or
success
after
a
period
of
obscurity
(默默无闻)
or
neglect.
Mary
Santiago
has
that
secret
dream,
too.
Her
story
is
featured
in
Another
Cinderella
Story,
a
film
set
in
a
US
high
school.
Mary
is
shy
but
loves
to
pared
with
other
girls,
she
is
invisible.
However,
her
world
changes
completely
when
a
famous
teenage
pop
singer,
Joey
Parker,
appears.
Joey
is
everything
the
rest
of
the
boys
in
her
class
are
not—kind,
handsome
and
desirable.
Mary
and
Joey's
paths
cross
at
a
ball.
They
meet
and
fall
in
love
with
each
other.
But
when
Mary
has
to
rush
back
home,
she
leaves
behind
her
MP3
player,
which
becomes
the
only
clue
Joey
has
to
find
the
girl
of
his
dreams.
Of
course,
there
is
a
wicked
(邪恶的)
stepmother,
who
turns
out
to
be
Dominique
Blatt
and
she
takes
in
Mary
after
her
dancer
mother
dies.
Dominique
treats
Mary
like
a
maid
and
does
everything
she
can
to
make
sure
Mary
doesn't
get
into
the
top
dance
school.
Her
two
daughters
are
equally
determined
to
stop
Joey
falling
for
Mary,
even
if
that
means
embarrassing
her.
The
story,
though
it
mostly
follows
Cinderella,
does
add
a
few
modern
day
twists
to
the
classic
fairy
tale.
Refreshingly,
the
film,
unlike
many
high
school
films,
does
not
focus
on
looks,
although
the
actors
are
all
beautiful.
There
is
also
a
lot
less
materialism
in
Another
Cinderella
Story
than
in
many
similar
movies.
“The
movie
takes
the
fairy
tale
Cinderella
as
its
jumping
off
point,”
writes
movie
critic
Amber
Wilkinson.
“The
focus
is
firmly
on
following
your
dream.

by

C.Not
many
people
have
a
dream
to
be
realized.
D.The

the
passage,

Cinderella
Story
________.
A.follows

new
B.pays
more
attention
to
the

the
actors

Most
of

Our

their

C.This

Ⅰ.阅读理解
A
Cities
usually
have
a
good
reason
for
being
where
they
are,
like
a
nearby
port
or
river.
People
settle
in
these
places
because
they
are
easy
to
get
to
and
naturally
suited
to
communications
and
trade.
New
York
City,
for
example,
is
near
a
large
harbour
at
the
mouth
of
the
Hudson
River.
Over
300
years
its
population
grew
gradually
from
800
people
to
8
million.
But
not
all
cities
develop
slowly
over
a
long
period
of
time.
Boom
towns
grow
from
nothing
almost
overnight.
In
1896,
Dawson,
Canada,
was
unmapped
wilderness
(荒野).
But
gold
was
discovered
there
in
1897,
and
two
years
later,
it
was
one
of
the
largest
cities
in
the
West,
with
a
population
of
30,000.
Dawson
did
not
have
any
of
the
natural
conveniences
of
cities
like
London
or
Paris.
People
went
there
for
gold.
They
travelled
over
snow?covered
mountains
and
sailed
hundreds
of
miles
up
icy
rivers.
The
path
to
Dawson
was
covered
with
thirty
feet
of
wet
snow
that
could
fall
without
warning.
An
avalanche
(雪崩)
once
closed
the
path,
killing
63
people.
For
many
who
made
it
to
Dawson,
however,
the
rewards
were
worth
the
difficult
trip.
Of
the
first
20,000
people
who
dug
for
gold,
4,000
got
rich.
About
100
of
these
stayed
rich
men
for
the
rest
of
their
lives.
But
no
matter
how
rich
they
were,
Dawson
was
never
comfortable.
Necessities
like
food
and
wood
were
very
expensive.
But
soon,
the
gold
that
Dawson
depended
on
had
all
been
found.
The
city
was
crowded
with
disappointed
people
with
no
interest
in
settling
down,
and
when
they
heard
there
were
new
gold
discoveries
in
Alaska,
they
left
Dawson
City
as
quickly
as
they
had
come.
Today,
people
still
come
and
go—to
see
where
the
Canadian
gold
rush
happened.
Tourism
is
now
the
chief
industry
of
Dawson
City—its
present
population
is
762.
1.What
attracted
the
early
settlers
to
New
York
City?
A.Its
business
culture.

B.Its
small
population.
C.Its
geographical
position.

D.Its
favourable
climate.
2.What
do
we
know
about
those
who
first
dug
for
gold
in
Dawson?
A.Two?thirds
of
them
stayed
there.
B.One
out
of
five
people
got

This
June,
I
learnt
that
my
flight
into
Queenstown,
the
adventure
capital
of
the
world,
was
a
20?minute
drive
away
from
the
world's
first
ever
bungee
(蹦极)
site.
“So,”
I
told
myself,
“since
I'm
afraid
of
any
term
that
starts
with
the
word
‘bungee’,
I
should
have
a
try
this
time.”
I
regretted
saying
those
words
as
I
looked
down
from
the
bridge.
“You_wouldn't_be_human_if_you_didn't_feel_this_way,”
said
X,
the
bungee
instructor.
She
told
everybody
this,
I
was
sure.
But
then
I
remembered
how
every
single
person
before
me
jumped
willingly,
and
shouted
so
loudly
that
the
crowd
standing
near
the
bridge
broke
into
applause
(掌声).
Finally,
I
jumped.
If
you
are
waiting
for
the
part
where
I
say
I
felt
like
a
bird,
it's
not
coming.
I
fell
like
a
rag
doll
(布娃娃),
and
felt
like
my
stomach
and
my
heart
were
in
my
throat.
If
somebody
applauded
for
me,
I
didn't
hear
it.
When
the
men
in
the
boat
handed
me
a
rope
to
catch
and
get
into
the
boat,
I
was
too
shocked
to
move.
I
climbed
the
steps
along
the
mountain
to
return
to
the
bungee
centre
on
top.
Midway
lay
a
little
gate
beyond
which
I
saw
a
little
boy
and
a
woman.
“Oh
you
did
it!”
she
waved
at
me
with
joy.
“It
was
you
that
we
were
watching
there!”
she
pointed
to
the
bridge.
I
smiled,
and
she
told
me
how
she
was
waiting
for
her
daughter
who
was
up
next.
We
turned
to
look,
and
saw
a
girl
fall,
shouting
excitedly.
“Oh,
look
at
you
girls,”
she
smiled.
I
mumbled
(咕哝)
that
it
was
terrifying.
“But
you
jumped.
You'll
always
remember
that,”
she
said.
I
climbed
the
rest
of
the
stairs
shaking
with
cold,
only
this
time
there
was
sunny
warmth
inside
me.

课时作业(十七)
Ⅰ.阅读理解
【语篇解读】 本文主要介绍了加拿大道森的历史、发展与现状。
1.答案与解析:C 推理判断题。根据第一段中的“New
York
City,
for
example,
is
near
a
large
harbour
at
the
mouth
of
the
Hudson
River.
Over
300
years
its
population
grew
gradually
from
800
people
to
8
million.”可推知,由于纽约市地处哈德逊河入海口,其优越的地理位置吸引了早期的定居者。C选项“Its
geographical
position”正确。A选项“它的贸易文化”,B选项“它的少量人口”,D选项“它的有利气候”在文中均无信息支持。
2.答案与解析:B 细节理解题。根据第二段中的“Of
the
first
20,000
people
who
dug
for
gold,
4,000
got
rich”可知,在最先的两万淘金者中,有4
000人变得富有了,换言之,即有五分之一的人(One
out
of
five
people)变得富有了,故答案为B。A项属无中生有,文中并未提及最先到达道森的20
000人中有三分之二的人留在了那里;C项说几乎大家都放弃了,这与下文描述的五分之一的人变得富有矛盾;文中第二段提到在前往道森的途中,雪崩造成了63人死亡,并非是10
000人死亡,故D项错误。
3.答案与解析:B 细节理解题。根据第三段中的“But
soon...
and
when
they
heard
there
were
new
gold
discoveries
in
Alaska,
they
left
Dawson
City
as
quickly
as
they
had
come.”可知,当道森的黄金都被发掘后,人们听说在阿拉斯加发现了新的金矿,他们便很快离开道森了。由此可推知,他们是想去阿拉斯加碰碰运气。A项属偷换概念,文中说的是“The
city
was
crowded
with
disappointed
people
with
no
interest
in
settling
down”(这个城市到处都是感到失望且无心定居下来的人们)。C项属无中生有,文中并未说他们不能忍受这里的冬季。D项属曲解文意,文章提到“Necessities
like
food
and
wood
were
very
expensive”(诸如食品和木材这样的生活必需品非常昂贵),并非说他们缺少食品。
4.答案与解析:A 主旨大意题。本文主要以道森为例,讲述了城市的兴衰,故A项正确。B项“加拿大淘金热”,以偏概全;C项“荒野之旅”,曲解文意;D项“道森的旅游业”,不符合文意。
【语篇解读】 本文是记叙文。作者描述了由开始恐惧到最后突破自己的蹦极经历。
5.答案与解析:C 推理判断题。由第二段中的“She
told
everybody
this”可知,X作为蹦极教练,她跟每一个人说“如果一个人蹦极时不觉得害怕,那这个人就不是人类”,言外之意是感到害怕是正常的,目的就是鼓励人们勇敢地跳下去。
6.答案与解析:D 细节理解题。由第三段作者描述她蹦极时的感受“felt
like
my
stomach
and
my
heart
were
in
my
throat”和“I
was
too
shocked
to
move”可知,蹦极时的作者快吓死了。
7.答案与解析:C 推理判断题。由倒数第三段这位女士喜悦地对作者说“Oh
you
did
it”和倒数第二段她听到作者咕哝地说很害怕后的回复“But
you
jumped.
You'll
always
remember
that”可知,在她眼里,敢蹦极的作者很勇敢。
8.答案与解析:A 推理判断题。由最后一段作者描述她与那位女士交谈后的感受“only
this
time
there
was
sunny
warmth
inside
me”可知,那位女士的话让她很感动。
Ⅱ.完形填空
【语篇解读】 本文是一篇记叙文。文章讲述了一个聪明的画家通过用布擦墙使墙像镜子一样可以反射对面墙的图画,联想到这个世界其实就是你的一个映像:如果你是快乐的,世界就是快乐的;如果你是悲伤的,世界就是悲伤的。
1.答案与解析:B 考查名词辨析。空前面是:
“There
was
a
king
who
loved
art
very
much.”所以后面选artist(艺术家)。下文也有提到。故选B项。
2.答案与解析:C 考查动词辨析。此处“paint
a
picture”意为“画个画”,故选C项。
3.答案与解析:A 考查动词辨析。此处allow
sb.
to
do
sth.意为:允许某人做某事。故选A项。
4.答案与解析:C 考查形容词辨析。由下文句子:
“neither
of
them
could
see
each
other.”可知,说明是对面的墙。故选C项。
5.答案与解析:A 考查动词词组辨析。A.
put
up
悬挂,挂起;B.
put
back放回;C.
put
away收好;D.
put
on穿上。句意是:找人在两堵墙之间挂起帘子。故选
A项。
6.答案与解析:B 考查连词辨析。此处表示目的,为了两个人彼此看不见。故选B项。
7.答案与解析:D 考查形容词。regular“常规的”,表示第一个艺术家用的是人们常用的颜料。故选D项。
8.答案与解析:B 考查名词辨析。根据下文的“with
the
cloth”可知,此处选择B项。
9.答案与解析:C 考查形容词。根据此空所在句的副词too可知,句意为我的墙壁(的画)也准备好了。
故选C项。
10.答案与解析:A 考查动词辨析。此处意为国王去看他们画的画。故选A项。
11.答案与解析:A 考查形容词辨析。由下文的句子:每条线都和第一个画家的一样,可知是amazing“令人惊讶的”。故选A项。
12.答案与解析:D 考查动词辨析。此处意为国王想知道第二个画家是怎么做的。故选D项。
13.答案与解析:A 考查副词辨析。此处意为第二个画家简要地说。故选A项。
14.答案与解析:C 考查动词短语辨析。此处句意为:第一幅画的倒影就显现在墙面上。show
up“出现。”故选C项。
15.答案与解析:B 考查名词辨析。由下文的“the
world
will
be
sad.”且结合本段可知,其实世界(world)也是你的映像。故选B项。

Ⅰ.阅读理解
A
“When
studying
foreign
languages,
don't
forget
about
body
language,”
Anne
Merritt
said.
Something
as
simple
as
a
gesture
can
show
friendliness
in
one
culture,
embarrassment
in
another,
impatience
in
the
third.
Even
silence
means
different
things
in
different
places.
If
you
want
to
avoid
making
some
mistakes
when
traveling
abroad,
you
should
pay
attention
to
the
following.
Touch
Britain,
along
with
many
countries
in
northern
Europe
and
the
Far
East,
has
a
“non?contact
(非接触性)”
culture.
In
those
countries,
there
is
very
little
physical
contact
in
people's
daily
talks.
Even
touching
someone's
arm
by
accident
is
the
reason
for
an
apology.
However,
in
the
high?contact
cultures
of
the
Middle
East,
Latin
America,
and
southern
Europe,
physical
touch
is
a
big
part
of
daily
life.
What's
more,
there
are
different
standards
for
the
touch.
In
much
of
the
Arab
world,
men
hold
hands
and
kiss
each
other
in
greeting,
but
would
never
do
the
same
with
a
woman.
In
Thailand
and
Laos,
it
is
a
taboo
(禁忌)
to
touch
anyone's
head,
even
children's,
In
South
Korea,
elders
can
touch
younger
people
with
force
when
trying
to
get
through
a
crowd,
but
younger
people
can't
do
the
same.
Eye
contact
In
most
Western
countries,
frequent
eye
contact
is
a
sign
of
confidence
and
attentiveness
(专注).
We
may
think
that
a
conversation
partner
who
looks
away
is
either
not
listening
to
us
or
lying.
Of
course,
this
is
not
the
standard
around
the
world.
In
many
Asian,
African,
and
Latin
American
countries,
the
unbroken
(不间断的)
eye
contact
would
be
considered
impolite
and
rude.
These
cultures
consider
avoiding
eye
contact
a
sign
of
respect
for
bosses
and
elders.
In
these
parts
of
the
world,
children
won't
look
at
an
adult
who
is
speaking
to
them,
and
nor
will
employees
look
at
their
bosses.
1.In
Britain,
when
people
are
talking,
they
usually
________.
A.avoid
eye
contact
B.touch
the
others'
arms
C.avoid
physical
contact
D.apologize
for
their
mistakes
2.In
southern
Europe,
physical
touch
is
________.
A.unnecessary
B.impolite
C.dangerous
D.common
3.What
should
we
avoid
doing
in
Thailand?
A.Touching
a
kid's
head.
B.Touching
someone's
arm.
C.Shaking
hands
with
children.
D.Touching
old
people
with
force.
4.What
does
this
text
mainly
tell
us?
A.How
to
have
a
good
time
abroad.
B.The
importance
of
body
language.
C.How
to
communicate
with
foreigners.
D.An
introduction
to
some
body
languages.
B
The
world's
oldest
known
wild
bird,
an
albatross
(信天翁)
named
Wisdom,
has
returned
to
her
nesting
place
in
the
Midway
Atoll.
The
68?year?old
bird
has
just
laid
another
egg.
The
Midway
Atoll
is
made
of
two
small
islands
in
the
middle
of
the
Pacific
Ocean.
It
is
an
important
place
for
albatrosses,
and
an
important
place
for
scientists
who
want
to
study
them.
One
of
the
ways
scientists
can
study
birds
is
by
banding
(给……戴环志)
them.
Putting
a
small
numbered
band
on
the
leg
of
a
bird,
helps
scientists
tell
which
bird
is
which.
This
makes
it
easier
to
keep
track
of
what
happens
among
the
birds.
Over
250,000
albatrosses
have
been
banded
on
Midway
since
1936.
Wisdom
was
first
banded
by
scientist
Chandler
Robbins
in
1956,
along
with
thousands
of
other
albatrosses.
At
the
time,
she
was
at
least
5
years
old.
Wisdom
carried
Robbins'
band
around
the
world
for
many
years.
Then,
surprisingly,
the
scientist
and
the
bird
were
reunited
in
2002,
when
Robbins
returned
to
Midway
to
research
albatrosses
again.
He
rebanded
Wisdom
and,
checking
the
band
records,
discovered
he
had
been
the
first
one
to
put
a
band
on
her
—46
years
before.
Wisdom
was
using
the
same
nesting
place.
Adult
albatrosses
spend
a
lot
of
their
lives
flying
over
the
sea,
resting
from
time
to
time
on
the
water
to
eat.
But
they
return
to
the
same
nesting
place
every
year.
When
albatrosses
choose
a
partner
(配偶),
they
remain
partners
for
life.
But
Wisdom
has
been
alive
so
long
that
she
has
had
a
few
partners.
Wisdom
is
not
just
old,
she
is
also
active.
Because
it
takes
so
much
time
and
energy
for
parent
albatrosses
to
raise
a
chick—it
takes
about
seven
months
until
it
can
fly—many
albatrosses
lay
eggs
every
other
year.
But
Wisdom
has
laid
an
egg
every
single
year
since
2006.
Because
Wisdom
has
been
laying
eggs
for
so
long,
she
could
have
her
chicks
and
the
chicks
of
her
chicks
all
around
her.
There
may
soon
be
one
more
to
add
to
the
list.
5.What
does
the
author
want
to
do
in
Paragraph
2?
A.Use
an
example
to
support
the
topic.
B.Offer
some
background
information.
C.Give
an
explanation
for
what
happened.
D.Attract
the
readers'
interest
in
the
topic.
6.What
is
Paragraph
3
mainly
about?
A.How
albatrosses
are
banded.
B.How
biologists
study
albatrosses.
C.The
life
of
Wisdom
since
she
was
banded.
D.The
connection
between
Wisdom
and
a
scientist.
7.What
does
the
underlined
word
“it”
in
the
last
paragraph
refer
to?
A.Wisdom.
B.Wisdom's
chick.
C.A
baby
albatross.
D.A
parent
albatross.
8.How
is
Wisdom
different
from
ordinary
albatrosses?
A.She
lays
an
egg
every
year.
B.She
uses
different
nesting
spots.
C.She
changes
partners
very
often.
D.She
has
been
banded
several
times.

You
probably
think
you
will
never
be
a
top
student.
This
is
not
necessarily
so,
however.
Anyone
can
become
a
better
student
if
he
or
she
wants
to.
Here
is
how.
Plan
your
time
carefully.
When
planning
your
week,
you
should
make
a
list
of
things
that
you
have
to
do.
After
making
the
list,
you
should
make
a
schedule
of
your
time.
First
arrange
your
time
for
eating,
sleeping,
dressing,
etc.
Then
decide
a
good,
regular
time
for
studying.

A
weekly
schedule
may
not
solve
all
the
problems,
but
it
will
force
you
to
realize
what
is
happening
to
your
time.
Find
a
good
place
to
study.
Look
around
the
house
for
a

area.
Keep
this
place,
which
may
be
a
desk
or
simply
a

your

课时作业(十八)
Ⅰ.阅读理解
【语篇解读】 本文是一篇说明文。文章介绍了在不同国家的日常交流过程中应该注意的一些肢体语言。
1.答案与解析:C 推理判断题。根据Touch部分的“Britain,
along
with
many
countries
in
northern
Europe
and
the
Far
East,
has
a
‘non?contact
(非接触性)’culture.
In
those
countries,
there
is
very
little
physical
contact
in
people's
daily
talks.”可知,在英国,人们交谈时通常避免身体接触。选C。
2.答案与解析:D 细节理解题。根据Touch部分的“However,
in
the
high?contact
cultures
of
the
Middle
East...
southern
Europe,
physical
touch
is
a
big
part
of
daily
life.”可知,在欧洲南部,身体接触是日常生活中的一个重要部分。选D。
3.答案与解析:A 细节理解题。根据Touch部分的“In
Thailand
and
Laos,
it
is
a
taboo
(禁忌)to
touch
anyone's
head,
even
children's”可知,在泰国,我们要避免触摸任何人的头,即使是孩子的也不行。选A。
4.答案与解析:D 主旨大意题。通读全文可知,本文主要介绍了在不同国家的日常交流过程中应该注意的一些肢体语言。选D。
【语篇解读】 本文是说明文。文章主要介绍了一只世界上已知最长寿的信天翁——Wisdom。
5.答案与解析:
B 推理判断题。作者在第二段首先简单介绍了Midway
Atoll,说明该地是信天翁的重要栖息地,同时也是科学家研究信天翁的重要地点;接着作者介绍了科学家研究信天翁的一种手段——给它们佩戴环志,以了解它们的行踪。这部分内容为第一段中Wisdom的产卵地Midway
Atoll和第三段中Wisdom佩戴环志提供了背景信息。
6.答案与解析:D 段落大意题。第三段主要讲述了Wisdom被科学家Chandler
Robbins佩戴环志的故事。这位科学家在Wisdom大约五岁时给她戴上了环志。令人意想不到的是,46年后,他偶然间为Wisdom戴上了另一个环志,并认出了这位多年前的“故人”。
7.答案与解析:C 词义猜测题。画线单词所在句句意:信天翁抚养幼鸟要花费大量的时间和精力,它(信天翁幼鸟)需要经历七个月时间的成长才能飞翔,所以,许多信天翁都是隔年产卵。
8.答案与解析:A 细节理解题。由最后一段中的“many
albatrosses
lay
eggs...
every
single
year
since
2006”可知,许多信天翁隔年产卵,但Wisdom自2006年以来每年都产卵。
Ⅱ.阅读七选五
【语篇解读】 本文是关于有效学习的几个建议。
1.答案与解析:E 根据下一句“You
probably
think
you
will
never
be
a
top
student.”说明你也许想过你从不会成为优秀生。说明你是一名普通的学生,故E正确。
2.答案与解析:B 根据下一句“A
weekly
schedule
may
not
solve
all
the
problems”说明很满的时间安排不一定能解决所有的问题,一定要有娱乐的时间,故B正确。
3.答案与解析:C 根据本段小标题“Make
good
use
of
your
time
in
class.”可知要充分利用好课堂的时间,故C项符合上下文。
4.答案与解析:G 根据前一句“If
you
know
what
your
teacher
is
going
to
discuss
the
next
day,
read
the
material.”说明预习的重要性,预习以后会让我们的学习更高效,故G项内容符合上下文。
5.答案与解析:A 根据下句“You
will
probably
discover
them
after
you
have
tried
these.”说明除了文章中的这些方法以外,还有另外的方式。其中them指代A选项中的“other
methods”,故A项符合上下文。
Ⅲ.语法填空
【语篇解读】
作者以雨天散步时道路泥泞为切入点,讲述了在人生的道路上,正是因为挫折,才让我们留下自己的脚印。
1.答案与解析:them 考查代词。分析句子结构可知,most
of
1.________作主语;再根据语境可知,此处说的是people,故用them来指代。
2.答案与解析:failures 考查名词的数。分析句子结构可知,该处在句中作主语,故应填名词形式failure;又因为谓语动词make为复数形式,故应填failures。
3.答案与解析:The 考查冠词。此处特指上文中出现过的“a
path”,故用定冠词The。
4.答案与解析:farther/further 考查副词的比较级。句意:这条道路如此泥泞,以至于我几乎不能稍微走远一点点。even修饰比较级,故用far的比较级形式。far的比较级形式有两种,farther和further。
5.答案与解析:Looking 考查非谓语动词。句意:看着我留在身后的脚印,我想到了阳光下我在这条小路上散步(的情景)。分析句子结构可知,空处在句中作伴随状语,且与句子主语I之间为逻辑上的主谓关系,故应用现在分词形式。
6.答案与解析:occurred 考查动词的时态。根据语境可知,此处陈述的是过去的情况,应用一般过去时。
7.答案与解析:left 考查非谓语动词。分析句子结构可知,空处在句中作后置定语,修饰footprints;因为leave和footprints之间为逻辑上的动宾关系,故应用过去分词形式。
8.答案与解析:without 考查介词。句意:当然,一帆风顺的生活是我们渴望的,但不经历风雨,我们又如何能见到彩虹呢?根据句意可知,此处应填without。
9.答案与解析:but 考查连词。句意:挫折一定会拖慢我们前进的步伐,但正是因为挫折,我们前进的每一步才能留下印记。空处前后句子之间为转折关系,故应用转折连词but。
10.答案与解析:smoothly 考查副词。句中live为动词,应用副词修饰,故填smoothly。

Well,
if
you
live
in
the
UK,
the
answer
is
probably
yes.
The
number
of
festivals
has
grown
greatly
over
the
last
few
years
and
now
there
are
around
200
every
summer.
So
let's
look
at
the
history
of
four
famous
festivals.
The
Glastonbury
Festival
is
a
five?day
festival
of
contemporary
performing
arts
held
most
years
in
Somerset,
in
the

England.
There
are
a
rock

pop
stage,
a

stage,
the
Avalon
stage,
a
theatre/cabaret/comedy
stage,
a
cinema
tent,
a
dance
tent
and
a
circus.
The
festival
started
in

and

every

The

to
hear
the
very
best
of

heavy
metal.
There
were
no
festivals
between
1996
and
2003
as
a
result
of
changing
musical
fashions,
but
now
it
has
returned
and
grown

in
summer

Maggie
had
never
experienced
an
earthquake
before,
only
prepared
for
it.
As
long
as
she
could
remember,
preparing
for
an
earthquake
was
routine
(常规的)
at
school.
Her
family
as
well
had
made
plans
in
the
event
of
a
natural
disaster.
Earthquakes
are
so
much
more
common
on
the
West
Coast
of
the
United
States.
Today
Maggie
was
home
alone.
Maggie
knew
her
mom
would
be
driving
home
on
the
busy
freeway,
thinking
about
preparing
supper
for
Maggie's
dad.
Maggie's
dad
would
arrive
at
the
airport.
He
was
coming
home
from
a
two?week
business
trip.
Maggie
arrived
home
from
school
at
the
regular
time.
She
was
taking
some
biscuits
from
the
kitchen
cupboard,
when
she
felt
it.
First
just
a
tremor
(微震),
then
the
violent
shaking.
Maggie
quickly
ran
under
the
large,
wooden
table
in
the
dining
room.
The
sounds
of
breaking
glass
and
the
crashing
of
many
things
were
frightening.
But
the
table
remained
undamaged,
and
Maggie
hid
herself
in
fear.
After
what
seemed
like
a
century
the
earthquake
appeared
to
be
over.
Maggie
could
hear
the
sound
of
water
rushing
below
her
in
the
basement.
The
smell
of
natural
gas
was
present
in
the
air.
Maggie
knew
where
the
main
water
valve
(阀门)
was
located.
Dad
had
shown
her
where
it
was
and
how
to
turn
it
off.
Slowly
and
carefully
she
came
out
from
under
the
table.
The
once
tidy
home
was
now
almost
unrecognizable.
As
Maggie
reached
the
open
basement
door
she
could
see
the
steps
were
still
in
good
condition.
She
carefully
made
her
way
down
into
the
dark
basement.
While
still
on
the
steps
she
felt
the
water
rising
and
rising.
Suddenly
Maggie
felt
a
lot
of
pain
as
a
large
ceiling
beam
(天花板梁)
hit
her
head
and
shoulder.
She
fell
onto
some
storage
boxes...
24.What

her
family?

earthquake
country.

seldom
prepared
for
an
earthquake.

had
experienced
an

got
an
earthquake
warning
that
morning.

to
eat.

family.

off
the

water
valve.

check
where
the
rising
water
came
from.
27.What's
the
text
mainly
about?
A.Maggie's
first
trip
to
the
West
Coast.
B.Maggie's
first
earthquake
experience.

Maggie
survived
a
natural
disaster.

C
Two
of
the
saddest
words
in
the
English
language
are
“if
only”.
I
live
my
life
with
the
goal
of
never
having
to
say
those
words,
because
they
express
regret,
lost
chances,
mistakes,
and
disappointment.
My
father
is
famous
in
our
family
for
saying,
“Take
another
minute
to
do
it
right.”
I
always
try
to
live
by
the
“another
minute”
rule.
When
my
children
were
young
and
likely
to
cause
accidents,
I
always
thought
about
what
I
could
do
to
avoid
an
“if
only”
moment,
whether
it
was
something
small
like
moving
a
cup
full
of
hot
coffee
away
from
the
edge
of
a
table,
or
something
that
required
a
little
more
work
such
as
taping
padding
(粘贴衬垫)
onto
the
sharp
corners
of
a
glass
coffee
table.
I
don't
only
avoid
those
“if
only”
moments
when
it
comes
to
safety.
It's
equally
important
to
avoid
“if
only”
in
our
personal
relationships.
We
all
know
people
who
lost
a
loved
one
and
regretted
that
they
had
foregone
a
chance
to
say
“I
love
you”
or
“I
forgive
(原谅)
you”.
When
my
father
announced
he
was
going
to
the
eye
doctor
across
from
my
office
on
Good
Friday,
I
told
him
that
it
was
a
holiday
for
my
company
and
I
wouldn't
be
here.
But
then
I
thought
about
the
fact
that
he's
84
years
old
and
I
realized
that
I
shouldn't
give
up
a
chance
to
see
him.
I
called
him
and
told
him
I
had
decided
to
go
to
work
on
my
day
off
after
all.
I
know
there
will
still
be
times
when
I
have
to
say
“if
only”
about
something,
but
my
life
is
certainly
better
because
of
my
rule
of
doing
everything
possible
to
avoid
that
possibility.
And
even
though
it
takes
another
minute
to
do
something
right,
or
it
sometimes
takes
an
hour
or
two
in
my
busy
timetable
to
make
a
personal
connection,
I
know
that
I'm
doing
the
right
thing.
I'm
buying
myself
peace
of
mind
and
that's
the
best
kind
of
insurance
for
avoiding
saying
“if
only”.
28.Why
does
the
writer
regard
“if
only”
as
two
of
the
saddest
words
in
the
English
language?
A.Because
people
use
them
when
they
feel
sad.
B.Because
they
mean
sadness
in
the
English
language.
C.Because
they
mean
regrets
and
disappointment
in
life.
D.Because
they
make
the
writer
think
of
some
sad
experiences.
29.What's
the
meaning
of
the
underlined
word
“foregone”
in
Paragraph
3?
A.Given
up.
B.Looked
for.
C.Waited
for.
D.Made
use
of.
30.
The
author
decided
to
go
to
her
office
on
Good

to
________.
A.see
a
doctor
B.finish
her
work
C.join
a
celebration
D.create
a
chance
to
see
her
father
31.What
is
the
best
title
for
the
passage?
A.Advice
from
My
Father
B.The
“Another
Minute”
Rule
C.Avoidance
of
Saying
“If
Only”
D.The
Saddest
Words
in
English
D
Some
caterpillars'
warning
signals
(信号)
may
have
evolved
(进化)
from
walking.
A
team,
writing
in
the
journal
Nature
Communications,
reported
that
the
hair?like
structures
the
living
things
use
to
make
sounds
evolved
from
legs.
The
team
studied
caterpillars
which
use
these
structures
to
communicate
their
ownership
of
leaves.
This
means
the
caterpillars
are
able
to
“tell”
strangers
to
go
away
without
risking
injury
in
fighting.
“These
are
really
interesting
caterpillars,”
said
Dr.
Jayne
Yack
from
Carleton
University
in
Ottawa,
Canada,
who
led
the
research.
“They
make
signals
using
hair?like
structures
which
are
on
their
back
ends.”
The
caterpillars
drag
these
structures
across
the
leaf
to
make
scraping
(刺耳的)
sounds
when
strangers
enter
the
area
of
their
leaves.
“When
they
make
this
signal,
the
strangers
leave,”
explained
Dr.
Yack.
“It's
like
saying
‘I'm
here,
get
out
of
here—I
already
own
this
leaf’.”
The
scientists
looked
at
other
species
(物种)
within
the
same
group
of
caterpillars
and
created
their
“family
tree”.
They
used
chemical
markers
(标记物)
to
work
out
the
relationship
between
the
animals,
showing
which
in
the
group
were
the
more
ancient
species
and
which
species
evolved
more
recently.
“Those
more
ancient
species
actually
don't
have
these
sound?producing
structures.
They
have
legs
that
they
use
to
walk
towards
strangers,”
said
Dr.
Yack.
These
more
ancient
species,
she
explained,
walk
towards
strangers
and
try
to
fight
against
them.
“They
can
kill
each
other
in
the
fighting,”
Dr.
Yack
added.
She
said
that
the
evolution
of
the
scraping
show
had
allowed
the
caterpillars
to
solve
their
fighting
without
injury.
“So
our
idea
is
that
these
signals
actually
avoid
harm
to
both
sides—they
solve
fighting
in
a
more
‘friendly’
way.”
The
study
also
provides
a
map
of
an
evolutionary
process
that
many
other
biologists
are
researching.
32.What
can
we
learn
about
caterpillars'
warning
structures
from
the
text?
A.They
have
the
same
use
as
hair.
B.They
are
found
in
caterpillars'
heads.
C.They
are
used
to
fight
against
strangers.
D.They
may
have
evolved
from
caterpillars'
legs.
33.According
to
the
text,
Dr.
Yack's
team
did
NOT
________.
A.draw
a
family
tree
of
caterpillars
B.create
a
map
to
show
how
caterpillars
evolve
C.study
species
within
the
same
group
of
caterpillars
D.make
clear
the
relationship
between
different
species
of
caterpillars
34.What
does
the
underlined
word
“They”
in
the
fifth
paragraph
refer
to?
A.The
ancient
species.
B.The
chemical
markers.
C.The
sound?producing
structures.
D.The
more
recently
evolved
species.
35.What
is
the
main
idea
of
the
text?
A.How
caterpillars
evolved.
B.How
caterpillars
warn
strangers.
C.Communication
between
caterpillars.
D.Caterpillars'
warning
signals
evolved
from
walking.

第二节(满分25分)
阅读下面短文,根据其内容写一篇60词左右的内容概要。
Every
day
around
the
world
thousands
of
people
with
little
or
no
scholarly
training
in
art
history
walk
into
museums.They
may
or
may
not
read
notice
boards
that
share
relevant
information
of
the
artworks
or
artists.Imagine,before
being
permitted
to
direct
their
eyeballs
to
the
art
on
the
walls,museum
visitors
were
required
to
read
a
15?or
20?page
introduction
to
each
piece
or
each
artist.How
many
people
would
go
to
museums
if
that
were
the
case?
Yet
this
seems
to
be
the
expectation
when
it
comes
to
reading
classic
literature.Classic
novels
typically
come
with
15?or
20?page
introductions,which
often
include
spoilers,assuming
that
readers
do
not
come
to
classic
books
to
discover,be
absorbed
in,and
be
surprised
by
the
story
world.Also,apparently,we
mustn't
read
classics
alone,without
experts
guiding
our
experiences.
However,classic
literature
is
in
a
unique
position
to
show
us
that
we're
not
alone
in
our
pains
and
joys.By
taking
us
out
of
our
time,classic
books
free
us
to
see
beyond
the
set
of
beliefs
we
stick
to
and
to
connect
human
experiences
that
remain
alive
across
time
and
place.What
could
be
more
grounding,more
comforting,than
seeing
ourselves
in
the
battles,longings,and
pleasures
that
have
played
out
across
hundreds,thousands
of
years
of
human
history?
Our
personal
engagement
is
the
first
step
of
a
longer
journey
of
discovery,that
deepens
our
knowledge
and
understanding
of
ourselves
and
our
world.We
may,for
example,feel
for
Hester
Prynne
from
Nathaniel
Hawthorne's
The
Scarlet
Letter
though
we
despair
of
the
world
she
lived
in.
While
we're
letting
go
of
things,let's
stop
worrying
about
understanding
everything.We
can't.It
will
be
fun
if
we
embrace
curiosity,the
pleasure
of
working
out
a
mystery,and
our
common
relationships
as
humans.We
can
feel,for
example,the
power
of
self?sacrifice
in
Charles
Dickens'
A
Tale
of
Two
Cities
even
when
we
lack
full
understanding
of
the
cultural
references
and
language.

First

I

it

take
about
eight

ten
days
to
arrive.
M:And
second

W:Sending

would
be
cheaper,

it

You'll

$
4.90.
M:Oh,
I
want
it

I'll
mail
it
first

W:What's
in
the

I
need

Are
there
any
other

I
need
to

it's

W:Yes,one
more.
You
will
have

the

M:Here
it
is.
W:You
forgot
to
put

It's
a
post

but
we
usually
advise
people
that
all

have
a
proper
returning

M:OK.
I'll
do
it
right
now.
I'll
also
buy
ten
60-cent

W:Let's
see.
The

M:It

W:It
is
said
that
our
library
has
got
some
new
books.
I
want
to
go
and
have
a
look.
Do
you
think
I'll
have
enough
time
to
get
there
before
it
closes?
M:I
can't
tell.
What
time
does
it
close?
W:About
10
o'clock.
M:Can
you
make
it
in
half
an
hour?
Anyhow
it's
not
far
from
here.
By
the
way,
can
you
return
some
books
for
me?
W:OK,
no
problem!
Do
you
know
what
the
new
books
are
about?
I
need
some
books
about
English
writing
for
my
term
paper.
M:I
heard
that
most
of
the
new
books
are
about
English
grammar
and
writing.
All
of
them
are
the
latest
publications.
I
am
sure
there
are
some
you
need.
W:That's
great.
Oh,
it's
already
9:40.
There
are
only
20

I'd
better
get

M:I'm

M:Do
you

Brenda
wants
to
go?
W:I
don't
know.
I
think
we
can
call
them.
M:I
know
Dick
has
to
work,but
maybe
Brenda
can
go.
W:OK,
call
her
first,
then
the
airport.
I'll
go
and
get
ready.

M:Hello,
Mary.
Why
are
you
standing
here

W:I'm
waiting
for
a

but
the
buses
are
very
full
at
this

of

M:Where
are
you
going?
This
isn't
your
way
home.
You
must
take
a
bus
from
the
other
side
of
the
street
to
go
home.
W:I'm
not
going
home
now.
I'm
going
for
a
walk
in
the
park.
I
always
like
to
go
for
a
walk
before
lunch.
M:Then
why
not
walk
from
here
to
the
park,too?
It
isn't
very
far.
W:Oh,
no,
Bill.
It
isn't
very

to

in

it's
very
boring.

they
convey
regret,
lost
opportunities,
mistakes,
and

29.答案与解析:A 词义猜测题。第三段中“We
all
know
people
who
lost
a
loved
one
and
regretted
that
they
had
foregone
an
opportunity
to
say
“I
love
you”
or
“I
forgive
you”可知,很多人在失去所爱的人后才后悔他们错失了说“我爱你”或“我原谅你”的机会。foregone
an
opportunity意为“放弃机会,失去机会”。故画线词语意思应是放弃,故选A。
30.答案与解析:D 细节理解题。根据第三段中“he's
84
years
old
and
I
realized
that
I
shouldn't
give
up
an

him”可知,作者知道父亲要去自己办公室对面看眼科医生时,本来告诉父亲说是公司休假,他不上班;但突然意识到父亲已经84岁了,所以决定即便是自己的休息日,也会去上班,去看看父亲,以免将来会后悔。故选D。
31.答案与解析:C 标题判断题。由“I
know
there
will
still
be
times
when
I

definitely
better
because

my
policy
of
doing
everything
possible
to
avoid
that
possibility.”可知,这篇文章主要讲了作者认为“要是……多好”是英语中最悲伤的两个词,因为它们表达着生活中的后悔和失望,所以要珍惜现在所拥有的一切,尽可能避免做后悔的事情,因此,本文的最佳标题为:避免说“要是……多好”。故选C。

sounds
evolved
from
legs.”(在《自然通讯》杂志上发表文章的一个研究小组报告说,这些生物用来制造声音的毛发状结构是从腿上进化而来的)可知,它们可能是由毛虫的腿进化而来的。故选D。
33.答案与解析:B 细节理解题。根据最后一段的“The
study
also
provides
a
map
of
an
evolutionary
process
that
many
other
biologists
are
researching.”(这项研究还提供了一个许多其他生物学家正在研究的进化过程的地图)可知,Yack博士的团队没有创建一张地图来显示毛毛虫是如何进化的。故选B。
34.答案与解析:A 词义猜测题。根据上文“Those
more
ancient
species
actually
don't
have
these
sound?producing
structures.”(那些更古老的物种实际上没有这些产生声音的结构)可知,画线部分的意思是:它们没有用来走向陌生人的腿,因此推断They指代“那些古老的物种”。故选A。

mood与上一句的bad
mood形成对比。故选E项。
40.答案与解析:G 空格上一句提到“没有人想成为沮丧的人”承接上文,G选项“和总是对一切感到不满的人相处是不舒服的”切题,该选项中的people
who

people(沮丧的人)相呼应。故选G项。
第三部分
第一节

61.答案与解析:involves 考查时态。本句话的主语是small
talk,与involve之间是主动关系,空格处缺少谓语动词,整篇文章都是以现在时为主,故本空用involve的第三人称单数involves。
62.答案与解析:covering 考查非谓语动词。本句话的谓语动词是can
learn,空格处缺少非谓语动词,指的是功课包含其他的科目,是逻辑主动关系,故用covering。
63.答案与解析:it 考查代词。此处用it作形式主语,真正的主语是后面的动词不定式短语。
64.答案与解析:focused 考查非谓语动词。keep
the
