What were you doing at this time yesterday I called you to go to the English Corner but nobody answered. 昨天这个时间你在做什么？ 我打电话叫你去英语角，但没有人接。
（1）第一句的时态是过去进行时。过去进行时表示过去某一具体时刻或某一段时间正在发生或进行的动作。
①过去进行时的肯定句结构为：was/were﹢动词的现在分词﹢其他，如：
They were playing basketball from nine to ten yesterday morning. 他们昨天上午从9点到10点一直在打篮球。
②过去进行时的一般疑问句结构是：was/were ﹢主语﹢动词的现在分词﹢其他？
其回答形式为：yes，主语﹢was/were。或no,主语﹢wasn’t/weren’t。如：
—Were you reading at 10:00 p.m. last night
—Yes, I was./No, I wasn’t.
③过去进行时的特殊疑问句结构为：特殊疑问代词﹢一般疑问句。如：
What was Jim doing when the teacher came in 老师进来的时候吉姆在做什么？
（2）at this time yesterday 为过去进行时的常用时间状语。类似的还有at that time, at nine o’clock yesterday, from seven to nine last night, all day yesterday等。Yesterday 及last night既可以用于一般过去时也可以用于过去进行时，要根据上下文情境进行判断。如：
He was reading books last night. 他昨晚一直在读书。
He read books last night. 他昨晚看书了。
（3）call sb. to do sth. 给某人打电话做某事，如：
Yesterday my friend called me to do some shopping. 昨天我朋友给我打电话去购物。
