Game 1:Read the numbers quickly
要求:快速反映,会读的马上站起来大声读出数字。看谁表现最好。
Game 2 A bingo game : Find a friend.
要求:每个小组组长手中有一张卡片,上面是月份,当老师拿出数字卡片,相对应的月份组必须站起来说 :Bingo, 然后说出月份英语名称并出示卡片。如:12th 回答Bingo December.

No 3 Middle School in Xiao Xita Guo Xiaoyan
Good morning ,everyone. I’m Guo Xiaoyan from No.3 middle school.Now I’ll say the last period of unit8 in Book One.I’ll prepare to say the lesson from five parts.
Part One: Analysis of the Teaching Material and analysis of the students
1)Analysis of the Teaching Material
This is an important lesson in Book One. From this lesson, the students start to learn the numbers and months to express the time and it is one of the most important parts in learning English. Therefore this lesson is in the important position of the teaching material.
This lesson is the last period of Unit 8. It’s the integration of the whole unit. It is helpful to train and improve all kinds of abilities.
The topic of talking about people and school events is related to daily life, so it is helpful to raise learning interests of students and it will be also helpful to improve their spoken English.
2) Analysis of the students
The Ss have learned English for more than two months so far. They can understand some words and some simple sentences. The Ss have taken a great interest in English now.
3). Teaching Aims and Demands
Aims on the knowledge:
Enable the students to talk about the events at school and people with the dates.
Aims on the abilities:
To develop the students’ abilities of listening ,speaking, reading and writing.
To train the students’ ability of communication.
Aims on the emotion:
⑴.To make the students be interested in good co-operation.
⑵To make the students love life.
Teaching key points and difficult points:
How to talk about the events at school and a person .
(5) Teaching aids
Multi-media computer, Powerpoint ,school things and so on. They will be needed in this lesson.
Teaching methods I will take.
1.“Communicative” teaching method.
2. “Task-based” teaching method.
Everyone knows that the main aims of learning English in middle school is to cultivate the students’ basic abilities of listening, speaking, reading and writing, and their good sense of the English language.
3. co-operation in groups
I’ll give the Ss some tasks and arrange 10 kinds of activities: talking, guessing games, watching CAI, acting and having a competition.
Learning methods.
Firstly, Look, listen, and say to gain language competence.
Secondly, groupwork, exploration and participation to reach the goal.
Thirdly, Cultivate skills in listening, speaking, reading and expressing.
Fourthly, Students-centered and teacher-guided learning strategies. I’m not a teacher but a guider. I’m ready to give them help whenever they need and re-correct the mistakes while talking.
Part three : Teaching Procedure
Step1. Warm-up.
Ask the students some easy questions to check if they have remembered the contents they had learned before. For example: What’s your name How old are you When is your birthday
Step2. Read the numbers.
here I will use some flash cards to present the numbers quickly and ask the students to read it. In groups quickly.
The reason of my design: I think the students will be interested in saying the numbers to review what they have learned in this way.
Step3. Play a bingo game.
I’ll show the students a number and ask them to find the friend about month such as 12th-bingo December.
A bingo game will be a good way to arouse the students’ interest in going over the months.
Step 4.Read the dates .
I’ll ask the students to read the dates on their papers in groups first, and then check them.
This is the summary of the first two games that gets ready for the following games.
Step 5. talk about some famous people.
Eg: Who are they When was he/she born Then I’ll get the students to remember the dates and then check them by matching the pictures.
It is a little difficult for students to use “He/she was born on -----‘ and the years are hard for them to read.
I’d like the students to know more about famous people except our friends or ourselves.Because of them, we are living a happy life.
Step6. Talk about yourself one by one in a group(句子接龙)
Dates are used to describe themselves . Here I try to lead students to describe themselves with what they have learned. This is a good chance to consolidate their knowledge and improve their ability.
I think it can encourage them to try their best and cooperate with their partners well.and everyone can take the chance to improve themselves.
Step 7 A guessing game.
I’ll try to encourage each student to describe a person who they know very well and get others to guess according to their description. In this way, the students can use (he/she) in a sentence better.
And enhance the relationship with others.
Step8. Preview 3a ,3b in groups.
I’ll ask the students to find out the school events in groups and then encourage them to remember them by playing a memory challenge.
I think with the group leaders’ necessary help, if the students can find out the meanings by themselves, they will have a good sense of success, and they will be more interested in learning English.
Step9. 3a Talk about the school schedule
The students will use the important sentences freely to talk about others’ school events.
Eg When is the basketball game It’s…
Step 10. An interview
By interviewing their headmaster, the students can learn to use : Do you have a School Day at your school When is it ?…
The students will try to speak English in a real condition. If the Ss can finish this task well, they will benefit a lot in their spoken English..
Step 11 Fill in the chart.
I’ll repeat the headmaster’s answer and ask the students to fill in the chart. And then I'll ask them: Does he have…. When is it.. At last I'll ask them about their favorite month and the reasons. It’s a good chance to train the students’ listening ability and consolidate their interview. It’s helpful for the next job.
Step 12.Writing
I’ll get the students to write to the friend Mike about their school schedule according to the interview.and then ask them to read it in front of the class.
It helps to improve their writing ability.

Part Five : The judgment of my teaching
In this lesson , I try to use different ways to develop the students abilities especially the Ss’ ability of communication and also their ability of co-operation . I will try to arouse the Ss’ interest in English learning. After learning the lesson, get the students to enjoy English ,and feel good about the life.
