书面表达
One
possible
version:
Good
morning,everyone.
It’s
my
great
honor
to
be
here
and
give
a
speech
on
saving
food.
Speaking
of
food,
there
are
two
ugly
truths.
First,
a
huge
amount
of
food
is
wasted
every
year.
Millions
of
tons
of
cooked
and
served
food
ends
up
in
trash
cans.
Second,
primary
and
secondary
school
students
are
among
the
top
three
food
wasters.
At
present,
China
is
still
heavily
dependent
on
the
import
of
certain
grains,
and
wasting
food
will
make
our
efforts
to
be
self-sufficient
in
vain.
Moreover,
wasting
food
also
means
wasting
resources
like
water,
land
and
energy.
Therefore,
it
will
damage
the
environment
in
the
long
run.
Realizing
the
severe
consequences
of
wasting
food,
I’ve
been
doing
my
bit
to
save
food.
At
the
school
cafeteria,
I
ask
for
half-size
servings
when
I’m
not
hungry.
When
dining
out
in
restaurants
with
family
or
friends,
I
propose
ordering
smaller
portions
and
taking
the
leftovers
home.
At
home,
I
check
the
fridge
before
making
shopping
plans
to
avoid
buying
more
food
than
we
actually
need.
Saving
food
benefits
every
one
of
us.
Let’s
clean
our
plates
today
so
that
we
can
have
enough
for
tomorrow.
That’s
all.

Elephants
are
known
to
be
highly
social
and
intelligent.
Now
there
is
evidence
that
they
will
show
something
that
looks
very
much
like
a
group
hug
when
a
fellow
elephant
is
in
depression.
Joshua
Plotnik,who
leads
a
conservation
and
education
group
called
Think
Elephants,and
teaches
conservation
at
Mahidol
University
in
Thailand,studied
elephants
at
a
park
in
Chiang
Rai
Province
in
Thailand,to
look
for
consolation
(慰藉)
behavior.
As
explained
by
Frans
de
Waal,Dr.Plotnik’s
Ph.D.
adviser
at
Emory
University,consolation
behavior
involves
bystanders’
responding
to
an
animal
that
is
in
emotional
depression.
The
depression
may
be
caused
by
a
conflict
with
another
member
of
the
group.
“We’re
pretty
confident
it’s
relatively
rare
in
animals,”
Dr.
Plotnik
said
in
an
interview.
He
said
there
was
good
evidence
for
the
behavior
in
apes,wolves
and
some
birds.
And
he
said
there
had
been
some
reports
of
such
behavior
in
dolphins
and
elephants.
Elephants
clearly
have
strong
emotional
connections
to
other
elephants
and
are
highly
intelligent,so
it
made
sense
to
think
that
they
might
console
one
another.
To
find
it
out,Dr.
Plotnik
observed
26
elephants
in
six
groups
at
a
managed
park.
When
one
elephant
was
disturbed,Dr.
Plotnik
said,other
elephants—bystanders—gathered
around.
They
made
soft
sounds
and
touched
the
depressed
elephant,head
to
mouth
with
their
long
trunk
(象鼻),which
are
comforting
gestures
for
elephants.
Dr.
Plotnik
said
that
since
he
couldn’t
always
observe
the
original
source
of
the
depression,he
couldn’t
say
that
the
behavior
met
the
real
meaning
of
consolation,as
it
was
not
clear
whether
it
followed
conflict.
The
elephants
might
have
been
scared
by
a
person,dog,or,in
some
cases,a
noise
that
humans
couldn’t
hear.
But,he
said,in
every
other
way
the
elephants’
behavior
showed
that
they
were
acting
to
comfort
elephants
that
were
upset.

【语篇导读】 本文是一篇说明文,当你和家人、朋友在一起的时候,想要坚持按照自己的信念去做事是不容易的。那怎么办呢?作者在本文中给我们提出了四点建议。
1.G [前面提到当和别人在一起的时候,坚持按自己的信念做事是不容易的。而后面又给出了几条关于如何过充满活力、自主生活的建议,由此判断此空为过渡句,纵观选项,G项内容恰好能起到承接上下文的作用。]
2.B [本段内容是建议人们要忠实于自己的选择判断,倾听那些相信你、鼓励你的人的建议,由此判断作者劝告人们不要随便听别人的建议,不要受别人的影响。]
3.E [根据本段主题句Don’t
fear
people可知,此处建议人们不要惧怕需要做的事情。]
4.D [本段首先提出人们要相信自己、相信自己的选择,然后在下文进行解释论证,而在所有选项中D项和空后的句子内容相反,构成正反的对比,来支持论点。]
5.F [根据上文人们提出的问题What

How

B
Our
house
was
directly
across
a
popular
hospital.
We
rented
the
upstairs
rooms
to
outpatients
at
the
clinic.
One
summer
evening,
there
was
a
knock
at
the
door.
I
opened
it
to
see
a
truly
awful
looking
man,
his
face
lopsided
from
swelling,
red
and
raw.
He
told
me
he’d
been
hunting
for
a
room
since
noon
but
he
had
no
success.
“I
guess
it’s
my
face.
I
know
it
looks
terrible,
but
my
doctor
says
with
a
few
more
treatments…”
For
a
moment
I
hesitated,
but
his
next
words
convinced
me:
“I
could
sleep
in
this
rocking
chair
on
the
porch.
My
bus
leaves
early
in
the
morning.”
I
told
him
we
would
find
him
a
bed,
but
to
rest
on
the
porch.
It
didn’t
take
a
long
time
to
see
that
this
old
man
had
an
oversized
heart
crowded
into
that
tiny
body.
He
told
me
he
fished
for
a
living
to
support
his
daughter,
her
five
children,
and
her
husband,
who
was
hopelessly
crippled
from
a
back
injury.
He
didn’t
tell
it
by
way
of
complaint.
He
was
grateful
that
no
pain
accompanied
his
disease.
At
bedtime,
we
put
a
camp
cot
in
the
children’s
room
for
him.
When
I
got
up
in
the
morning,
the
bed
linens
were
neatly
folded
and
the
little
man
was
out
on
the
porch.
Before
he
left
for
his
bus,
haltingly,
he
said,
“Could
I
please
come
back
and
stay
the
next
time
I
have
a
treatment?
I
can
sleep
fine
in
a
chair.”
He
paused
a
moment
and
then
added,
“Your
children
made
me
feel
at
home.
Grownups
are
bothered
by
my
face,
but
children
don’t
seem
to
mind.”
I
told
him
he
was
welcome
to
come
again.
In
the
years
he
came
to
stay
overnight
with
us.
There
was
never
a
time
that
he
did
not
bring
us
fish
or
oysters
or
vegetables
from
his
garden.
When
I
received
these
little
remembrances,
I
often
thought
of
a
comment
our
next-door
neighbor
made
after
he
left
that
first
morning.
“You
can
lose
roomers
by
putting
up
such
people!”
Maybe
we
did
lose
roomers
once
or
twice.
But
oh!
If
only
they
could
have
known
him,
perhaps
their
illnesses
would
have
been
easier
to
bear.
I
know
our
family
always
will
be
grateful
to
have
known
him;
from
him
we
learned
what
it
was
to
accept
the
bad
without
complaint
and
the
good
with
gratitude.
When
the
author’s
children
saw
the
old
fisherman,
how
did
they
react
to
him?
A.
They
felt
at
home.
B.
They
were
bothered.
C.
They
were
terrified.
D.
They
felt
normal.
5.
What
can
we
learn
about
the
fisherman
from
the
passage?
A.
He
suffered
from
a
back
injury.
B.
He
had
a
small
body
but
a
strong
mind.
C.
He
was
cured
of
his
disease.
D.
He
felt
hopeless
about
life.
6.
Why
did
the
old
fisherman
give
the
author
vegetables
and
seafood?
A.
Because
he
wanted
to
sell
them
to
the
author
B.
Because
he
wanted
to
pay
the
rent
with
them
C.
Because
his
garden
had
a
good
harvest
D.
Because
he
wanted
to
thank
the
author
7.
According
to
the
story,
what
did
the
author
want
to
tell
us?
A.
God
helps
those
who
help
themselves.
B.
Misfortune
can
be
a
blessing
in
disguise.
C.
Never
judge
a
book
by
its
cover.
D.

Parking
in
the
CBD
of
any
Australian
city
is
expensive,
hard
to
come
by
and
often
an
unavoidable
headache.
But
Rylan
Kindness,
a
16-year-old
entrepreneur
(企业家)
from
Brisbane,
thinks
he
might
have
the
answer
to
this
problem.
It
was
after
Rylan
realized
his
parents
were
spending
hours
to
try
and
find
parking
deals
in
the
city
that
he
came
up
with
the
idea
for
a
centralized
system.
This
system
shows
users
the
best
price
for
parking
in
the
area
they
want
and
offers
users
a
daily
deal
with
a
discount
.
Rylan
now
doubles
as
a
high
school
student
and
the
CEO
of
Parking
Deals
Australia,
a
role
he
took
on
four
months
ago.
Parking
Deals
Australia
isn't
even
Rylan's
first
business.
When
he
was
barely
11,
Rylan
came
up
with
an
idea
to
sell
wholesale
scooter
parts
online,
purely
because
he
just
wanted
some
extra
money.
On
the
side,
he's
succeeding
in
other
passions
as
well.
However,
he
admits
it
hasn't
always
been
smooth
sailing.
“I've
learned
so
many
crazy
things
through
trial
and
error.
Every
day
I
fail
somewhere
but
I
always
try
to
get
better.
My
biggest
failure
was
when
I
first
set
up
everything
and
thought
it
was
what
everyone
else
would
like
but
it's
a
shock
when
I
see
people
not
enjoying
what
I’m
doing.
It
makes
me
want
to
cry
a
little
bit
but
then
I
polish
the
product
and
keep
going.”he
said.
While
Rylan
didn't
want
to
say
exactly
how
much
his
now-bustling
company
is
worth,
he
did
admit
he's
making
a
tidy
profit.“I
earn
more
in
one
day
than
I
was
earning
for
three
months
working
in
a
cafe
but
I'm
investing
it
all
back
into
the
business....
what
I've
learned
is
that
if
you're
starting
a
business
just
to
make
money,
you're
definitely
going
to
fail.
I'm
there
to
help
millions
of
people
and
that's
what
really
gets
me
going,”he
said.
Rylan's
goal
with
Parking
Deals
Australia
is
to
take
it
countrywide
and
save
millions
of
people
millions
of
dollars.
8.

system
from
his
parents
directly.
B.
He
left
school
to
run
his
own
company
four
months
ago.
C.
He

business
when
he
was

11.

Rylan?
A.
Hardworking
and
humor.
B.
Bright
and
curious.
C.
Generous
and

D.
Ambitious
and
insistent.
D
You
awake
with
a
pounding
heart
and
sweaty
hands.
Relax,
you
think
to
yourself

it
was
just
a
bad
dream.
But
are
nightmares
truly
benign(良性的)?
Psychologists
aren’t
so
sure.
Although
some
continue
to
believe
nightmares
reduce
psychological
tensions
by
letting
the
brain
act
out
its
fears,
recent
research
suggests
that
night
ordeals
(折磨)
are
more
likely
to
increase
anxiety
in
waking
life.
In
one
study
Australian
researchers
asked
624
high
school
students
about
their
lives
and
nightmares
during
the
past
year
and
assessed
their
stress
levels.
It
is
well
known
that
stressful
experiences
cause
nightmares,
but
if
nightmares
serve
to
ease
that
tension,
troubled
sleepers
should
have
an
easier
time
coping
with
emotional
ordeals.
The
study,
published
in
the
journal
Dreaming,
did
not
confirm
that
hypothesis
(假设)
:
not
only
did
nightmares
not
stave
off
anxiety,
but
people
who
reported
being
distressed
about
their
dreams
were
even
more
likely
to
suffer
from
general
anxiety
than
those
who
experienced
an
upsetting
event
such
as
the
divorce
of
their
parents.
It
is
possible,
however,
that
something
is
going
wrong
in
the
brains
of
individuals
who
experience
a
lot
of
anxiety,
so
that
normal
emotional
processing
during
dreaming
fails,
says
Tore
Nielsen,
director
of
the
Dream
and
Nightmare
Laboratory
at
Sacred
Heart
Hospital
in
Montreal.
But
Nielsen’s
most
recent
results,
published
in
the
Journal
of
Sleep
Research
last
June,
actually
bear
out
the
Australian
findings.
To
find
out
how
REM
sleep

during
which
most
dreaming
takes
place

affects
our
emotions,
the
Canadian
researchers
showed
horrible
images(such
as
death
scenes)to
a
group
of
healthy
volunteers
just
before
they
went
to
bed.
When
the
subjects
viewed
the
same
pictures
in
the
morning,
those
who
had
been
robbed
of
dream-filled?REM
sleep
were
less
emotionally
affected
than
those
deprived
of
(剥夺)
other
sleep
periods.
The
same
was
true
for
those
who
experienced
fewer
negative
emotions
in
their
dreams.
In
other
words,
having
nightmares
did
not
make
dreamers
more
relieved
in
waking
life

just
the
opposite.
What
is
not
clear
from
these
studies
is
whether
nightmares
play
a
causal
role
in
anxiety.
Most
researchers
agree
that
if
the
dreams
give
rise
to
constant
anxiety
and
concern,
it
may
be
a
good
idea
to
talk
to
a
mental
health
professional
about
it.
12.
What
is
the
attitude
of
the
researchers
towards
the
nature
of
bad
dreams?
A.
Skeptical.
B.
Approval.
C.
Indifferent.
D.
Unfavourable.
13.
The
phrase
“stave
off”
in
the
second
paragraph
is
closest
in
meaning
to
.
A.
accelerate
B.
reduce
C.
benefit
D.
harm
14.
Which
of
the
following
statements
is
true
according
to
the
passage?
A.
Those
who
suffered
from
the
divorce
of
their
parents
tend
to
have
more
nightmares.
B.
Those
deprived
of
REM
sleep
tend
to
be
less
emotionally
affected
when
shown
disturbing
images.
C.
Those
who
have
trouble
in
sleeping
have
an
easier
time
coping
with
emotional
sufferings.
D.
Those
who
experienced
fewer
negative
emotions
in
their
dreams
are
more
likely
to
be
affected
when
shown
disturbing
images.
15.
What
is
the
purpose
of
the
passage?
A.
To
inform
us
that
nightmares
may
fuel
anxiety
instead
of
serving
as
an
emotional
release.
B.
To
inform
us
that
people
with
stressful
experiences
are
more
likely
to
cause
nightmare.
C.
To
inform
us
that
having
nightmares
makes
dreamers
reduce
their
tensions
in
waking
life.
D.
To
inform
us
of
suggestions
on

to

anxiety
when
you
