Step Six Discussion
The dangers of drugs (Use the information from the text.)
to the person himself ,to the family, to the society
It is dangerous to take drugs for these reasons:
1. Drugs can make you become an unstable(不稳) person.
2. Drugs can affect your senses(感觉) and your mind.
3. At first, drugs may seem to help you escape from pain or worry. But if you take too much you can become very ill, or even die.
4. easy to be addictive------If you take drugs, you usually begin by taking small amounts. Then your body grows used to the drugs. To get the effect you need, you must take more. You take larger and larger amounts, until you find you can not live without the drug. This is called drug addiction, and you are now a drug addict. Once you are addicted to a drug, you will become very ill if you cannot get or try to stop taking it.
5. Drug addicts find it difficult to get work. This is because they are often ill and too weak to work well. Employers(雇主) don’t want to employ people who take drugs.
6. Many drugs are illegal(非法的). If the police catch you carrying or taking drugs, you may be sent to prison or to Drug Addiction Treatment Center.
7. Drugs cost a lot of money. A drug addict may not be able to afford the drugs he calls for(需求). Often he turns to crime to get the money. Then he gets into trouble with the police.
8. Drugs are always connected with Aids. If you take drugs, you will probably get infected with Aids. Then your whole life will be finished. So will your love, your marriage and your family!
Drugs contains cannabis, cocaine, heroin, ecstasy, opium, ice drug and so on. They make users become addicted to them. Once you take them, it’s hard to give it up, and it’s harmful for people’s health. What’s more, it’s expensive to buy drugs. So some users spend a lot of money on it, they even break the law, such as, steal money, sell drugs illegally.
Taking drugs can be very bad for your health and cause many deadly diseases like AIDS.
Drugs also make people behave strangely. Drug addicts fall out of windows and hurt themselves with knives and broken glass.
To get money to buy drugs you will do stupid and illegal things. You will lose your friends and cause a lot of disasters to your family and society.
