while作并列连词,意为“而,然而”,前后两个分句有
的含义。与其他连词连接的并列句不同的是,while连接的分句可位于句首。

(一)、状语从句概述
(1)状语从句在句子中起状语作用。
(2)状语从句通常由一个连词或由一个起连词作用的词组引导。状语从句可以表示时间、地点、原因、目的、结果、条件、方式、让步或比较等意义。
(二)、时间状语从句
1.

whenever,
as,
while,
before,
after,
until/till,
since,
as
soon
as常用以引导时间状语从句。

5.比较when,while,as引导时间状语从句的不同:
when引导的时间状语从句,其中的动词可以是延续性动词或瞬间性动词,可以表示主句和从句的动作同时发生或先后发生。
while引导的时间状语从句,其中的动词只能是延续性动词,并侧重表示主从句的动作同时发生
as引导的时间状语从句,其中的动词可为瞬间的或持续的,侧重表示主句和从句的动作同时发生,或表示某事一发生,另一事立即发生,as有时可译作“一边....一边....”.

how),whether等。
