B
(2020·全国卷Ⅱ)When
you
were
trying
to
figure
out
what
to
buy
for
the
environmentalist
on
your
holiday
list,
fur
probably
didn't
cross
your
mind.
But
some
ecologists
and
fashion(时装)
enthusiasts
are
trying
to
bring
back
the
market
for
fur
made
from
nutria(海狸鼠).
Unusual
fashion
shows
in
New
Orleans
and
Brooklyn
have
showcased
nutria
fur
made
into
clothes
in
different
styles.
“It
sounds
crazy
to
talk
about
guilt?free
fur—unless
you
understand
that
the
nutria
are
destroying
vast
wetlands
every
year,”
says
Cree
McCree,
project
director
of
Righteous
Fur.
Scientists
in
Louisiana
were
so
concerned
that
they
decided
to
pay
hunters
$5
a
tail.
Some
of
the
fur
ends
up
in
the
fashion
shows
like
the
one
in
Brooklyn
last
month.
Nutria
were
brought
there
from
Argentina
by
fur
farmers
and
let
go
into
the
wild.
“The
ecosystem
down
there
can't
handle
this
non?native
species(物种).It's
destroying
the
environment.
It's
them
or
us,”
says
Michael
Massimi,
an
expert
in
this
field.
The
fur
trade
kept
nutria
in
check
for
decades,but
when
the
market
for
nutria
collapsed
in
the
late
1980s,the
cat?sized
animals
multiplied
like
crazy.
Biologist
Edmond
Mouton
runs
the
nutria
control
program
for
Louisiana.
He
says
it's
not
easy
to
convince
people
that
nutria
fur
is
green,
but
he
has
no
doubt
about
it.
Hunters
bring
in
more
than
300,000
nutria
tails
a
year,
so
part
of
Mouton's
job
these
days
is
trying
to
promote
fur.
Then
there's
Righteous
Fur
and
its
unusual
fashions.Model
Paige
Morgan
says,“To
give
people
a
guilt?free
option
that
they
can
wear
without
someone
throwing
paint
on
them—I
think
that's
going
to
be
a
massive
thing,
at
least
here
in
New
York.”
Designer
Jennifer
Anderson
admits
it
took
her
a
while
to
come
around
to
the
opinion
that
using
nutria
fur
for
her
creations
is
morally
acceptable.
She's
trying
to
come
up
with
a
label
to
attach
to
nutria
fashions
to
show
it
is
eco?friendly.
4.What
is
the
purpose
of
the
fashion
shows
in
New
Orleans
and
Brooklyn?
A.To
promote
guilt?free
fur.
B.To
expand
the
fashion
market.
C.To
introduce
a
new
brand.
D.To
celebrate
a
winter
holiday.
5.Why
are
scientists
concerned
about
nutria?
A.Nutria
damage
the
ecosystem
seriously.
B.Nutria
are
an
endangered
species.
C.Nutria
hurt
local
cat?sized
animals.
D.Nutria
are
illegally
hunted.
6.What
does
the
underlined
word
“collapsed”
in
paragraph
5
probably
mean?
A.Boomed.
B.Became
mature.
C.Remained
stable.
D.Crashed.
7.What
can
we
infer
about
wearing
fur
in
New
York
according
to
Morgan?
A.It's
formal.
B.It's
risky.
C.It's
harmful.
D.It's
traditional.
C
In
my
senior
year
of
high
school,
Mike
and
I
were
lined
up
in
front
of
a
small
group
of
students
made
up
mainly
of
the
leaders
of
the
senior
classes.Our
teacher
said
to
us,“The
two
of
you
will
never
amount
to
anything.”
There
was
some
snickering(窃笑)
from
some
of
the
seniors
as
the
teacher
continued,“From
now
on,I
am
not
going
to
waste
any
more
time
on
either
of
you.I
am
only
going
to
spend
my
time
with
these
class
leaders.You
two
are
the
class
downs
with
bad
grades,
and
you
will
never
amount
to
anything.Now
get
out
of
here.”
That
teacher
did
Mike
and
me
the
biggest
favor
of
all.While
what
she
said
was
true
in
many
ways
and
her
words
hurt
us
deeply,
her
words
also
inspired
both
of
us
to
work
even
harder.They
carried
us
through
college
and
into
our
own
businesses.
A
few
years
ago,
Mike
and
I
attended
our
high
school
reunion.It
was
nice
to
visit
with
people
with
whom
we
had
spent
three
years
during
a
period
of
time
when
none
of
us
really
knew
who
we
were.It
was
also
interesting
to
see
that
most
of
the
so?called
senior
leaders
had
not
become
successful
in
the
years
after
high
school.
I
tell
this
story
because
Mike
and
I
were
not
academic
whiz
kids.We
were
neither
financial
experts
nor
athletic
stars.For
the
most
part,
we
were
slow?to?average
learners
and
students.In
my
opinion,we
were
not
as
naturally
gifted
as
our
fathers.Yet
it
was
our
teacher's
stinging
words
and
the
snickering
from
our
classmates
that
gave
us
the
strength
to
move
forward,
to
learn
from
our
mistakes
and
to
keep
doing
in
both
good
times
and
bad
times.
Just
because
you
didn't
do
well
in
school,
were
not
popular,
bad
in
math,
or
have
other
reasons
to
underestimate
yourself—none
of
them
count
in
the
long
run.They
only
count
if
you
think
they
count.
For
those
who're
considering
beginning
your
own
financial
fast
track,
you
may
have
some
doubts
about
your
abilities.Trust
that
you
have
everything
you
need
right
now
to
be
successful
financially.All
it
takes
to
bring
out
your
natural
God?given
gifts
is
your
desire,
determination
and
a
deep
faith
that
you
have
a
genius
and
a
gift
that
is
unique.
8.What
did
Mike
and
I
think
of
the
teacher's
words?
A.Her
stinging
words
inspired
them.
B.Her
inspiring
words
hurt
them
deeply.
C.Her
encouraging
words
helped
them
through
bad
times.
D.Her
bitter
words
discouraged
them
from
working
harder.
9.The
underlined
word
“whiz”
in
Paragraph
5
means
“”.
A.know?nothing
B.slow
C.stupid
D.genius
10.According
to
the
author,which
of
the
following
people
can
achieve
financial
success?
A.Those
who
have
faith
in
themselves.
B.Those
who
did
not
do
well
in
school.
C.Those
who
have
natural
God?given
gifts.
D.Those
who
are
doubtful
about
their
abilities.
第二节 (共5小题;每小题2分,满分10分)
根据短文内容,从短文后的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。
Don't
judge
a
book
by
its
cover.We
have
heard
that
advice
over
and
over
again.And
it
makes
sense.Why
should
we
judge
someone
who
is
overweight
simply
by
how
they
look?
It
has
nothing
to
do
with
them
as
a
person,
and
it
says
nothing
about
all
they
have
achieved
in
life.
__11__We
should
not
judge
them
as
healthy
simply
because
they
are
thin.
We
care
so
much
about
weight
that
we
think
those
who
succeed
in
keeping
a
“healthy
weight”
must
be
healthy.
Many
studies
have
shown
that
being
overweight
increases
the
risk
of
diabetes,
heart
disease,
and
even
death.__12__
Some
studies
just
look
at
pounds.Some
use
body
mass
index(BMI)
which
includes
both
height
and
weight
measurements.But
neither
one
says
anything
about
overall
health
for
sure.
In
some
studies,
a
person's
fitness
has
been
shown
to
be
more
important
than
overall
weight.
That
means
those
at
“normal”
weight,
but
below
average
fitness
could
be
at
higher
risk
than
fitter
and
heavier
people.__13__
If
you
are
thin
and
want
to
know
if
your
health
may
be
at
risk,
whole
body
MRIs
(磁共振成像)can
tell
you
if
you
are
a
TOFI
(thin
on
the
outside,
fat
on
the
inside).This
is
thought
to
increase
your
health
risk
even
if
you
have
a
perfect
body
weight.__14__
Rather,
creating
and
keeping
healthy
lifestyle
habits
should
be
the
goal.
Start
now
and
you
will
be
on
your
way
to
improving
your
overall
health.__15__But
even
if
it
doesn't,
rest
assured
you
are
still
improving
your
health
and
your
life.
A.The
same
holds
true
for
thin
people.
B.Weight
loss
will
usually
naturally
follow.
C.The
article
mainly
talks
about
people
in
Australia.
D.So
weight
loss
should
not
be
what
we
always
dream
of.
E.How
many
times
do
you
say,
“She
looks
great!
Nice
and
thin!”?
F.But
the
problem
lies
with
how
we
can
know
we
are
overweight.
G.So
there
is
no
such
thing
as
healthy
weight,
only
healthy
lifestyles.

I

And__18__,
after
some
running

I
actually
succeeded
in
getting
a
place—only
as
a
reserve
for
competitions,
but
still!
Then
I__19__
that
was
just
the
beginning.
The
other
team
members
didn't
exactly
object
to
a
newcomer,
but
I
could
__20__
they
didn't

approve
of(认可)
my
being
there.
The
team
is
made
up
of
the
__21__
sports
people
in
the
school,
so
__22__
them
was
a
real
honour.
And
any__23__
they
were
in
usually
resulted
in
a
win.
Anyway,
the
yearly
school
sports
day
was
coming
up,
so
I
thought
I'd
better
start__24__.
__25__
the
sports
day
came,
and
I
was
as
well
prepared
as
I
could
be.
And
I
knew
my
friends
all
__26__
me,
so
that
helped
a
lot.
And
just
then
we__27__
that
another
team
member
had
been
injured,
so
they'd
be
__28__
me
to
help
them
win.
This
was
my
__29__.
I
started
concentrating(集中注意力)
as
hard
as
I
could
on
the
__30__
ahead.
I
was
really
__31__
waiting
for
the
runner
behind
me
to
pass
me
the
baton(接力棒).
But
suddenly
there
he
was—and
I
was
off!
And
guess
what?
I__32__
faster
than
any
other
members
of
the
team—and
we
__33__!
It
was
fantastic!
But
the
best
part
was
that
__34__
the
race,
the
rest
of
the
team
insisted
on
carrying
me
round
the
track
on
their
shoulders.
I'll
never
__35__
it!

(2020·全国卷Ⅱ)When
you

fur
probably
didn't

But
some
ecologists
and
fashion(时装)
enthusiasts
are
trying
to
bring
back
the
market
for
fur
made
from
nutria(海狸鼠).
Unusual
fashion
shows
in
New
Orleans
and
Brooklyn
have
showcased
nutria
fur
made
into
clothes
in
different
styles.
“It
sounds
crazy
to
talk
about
guilt?free
fur—unless
you
understand
that
the
nutria
are
destroying
vast
wetlands
every
year,”
says
Cree
McCree,
project
director
of
Righteous
Fur.
Scientists
in
Louisiana
were
so
concerned
that
they
decided
to
pay
hunters
$5
a
tail.
Some
of
the
fur
ends
up
in
the
fashion
shows
like
the
one
in
Brooklyn
last
month.
Nutria
were
brought
there
from
Argentina
by
fur
farmers
and
let
go
into
the
wild.
“The
ecosystem
down
there
can't
handle
this

species(物种).It's
destroying
the
environment.
It's
them
or
us,”
says
Michael
Massimi,
an
expert
in
this
field.
The
fur
trade
kept
nutria
in
check
for
decades,but
when
the
market
for
nutria
collapsed
in
the
late
1980s,the
cat?sized
animals
multiplied
like
crazy.
Biologist
Edmond
Mouton
runs
the
nutria
control
program
for
Louisiana.
He
says
it's
not
easy
to
convince
people
that
nutria
fur
is
green,
but
he
has
no
doubt
about
it.
Hunters
bring
in
more
than
300,000
nutria
tails
a
year,
so
part
of
Mouton's
job
these
days
is
trying
to
promote
fur.
Then
there's
Righteous
Fur
and
its
unusual
fashions.Model
Paige
Morgan
says,“To
give
people
a
guilt?free
option
that
they
can
wear
without
someone
throwing
paint
on
them—I
think
that's
going
to
be
a
massive
thing,
at
least
here
in
New
York.”
Designer
Jennifer
Anderson
admits
it
took
her
a
while
to
come
around
to
the
opinion
that
using
nutria
fur
for
her
creations
is
morally
acceptable.
She's
trying
to
come
up
with
a
label
to
attach
to
nutria
fashions
to
show
it
is
eco?friendly.
语篇解读:本文一篇说明文。文章介绍了美国新奥尔良和布鲁克林举办了不同寻常的时装秀。时装秀上展出了海狸鼠制成的皮衣。海狸鼠每年都在破坏大片的湿地,因此设计师称这是一种环保的举措,科学家们也对海狸鼠损坏生态平衡表示了担忧。
4.What
is
the
purpose
of
the
fashion
shows
in
New
Orleans
and
Brooklyn?
A.To
promote
guilt?free
fur.
B.To
expand
the
fashion
market.
C.To
introduce
a
new
brand.
D.To
celebrate
a
winter
holiday.
A 解析:推理判断题。根据第二段“Unusual
fashion
shows
in
New
Orleans
and
Brooklyn
have
showcased
nutria
fur
made
into
clothes
in
different
styles.
“It
sounds

you
understand
that
the
nutria
are
destroying
vast

every
year,”says
Cree
McCree,
project
director
of
Righteous

McCree说:“除非你了解海狸鼠正每年破坏大片湿地,否则谈论无罪感皮衣听起来是很疯狂的事情。”由此可以判断出由于海狸鼠对生态造成了巨大的破坏,这场海狸鼠皮衣时装秀的目的是推广这种无罪恶感皮衣。故选A。
5.Why
are
scientists
concerned
about
nutria?
A.Nutria
damage
the
ecosystem
seriously.
B.Nutria
are
an
endangered
species.
C.Nutria
hurt
local
cat?sized
animals.
D.Nutria
are
illegally
hunted.
A 解析:细节理解题。根据第四段中“The
ecosystem
down
there
can't
handle
this
non?native
species(物种).It's
destroying
the
environment.It's
them
or
us...”可知,那里的生态系统无法容纳这些非本土物种。它们会破坏环境,和人类争个你死我活。因此,科学家之所以如此关注海狸鼠,是因为它们对环境造成了严重的破坏。故选A。
6.What
does
the
underlined
word
“collapsed”
in
paragraph
5
probably
mean?
A.Boomed.
B.Became
mature.
C.Remained
stable.
D.Crashed.
D 解析:词义猜测题。根据第五段“The
fur
trade
kept
nutria
in
check
for
decades,
but
when
the
market
for
nutria
collapsed
in
the
late
1980s,the
cat?sized
animals
multiplied
like
crazy.”可知,毛皮贸易使海狸鼠受到了几十年的控制,但是当海狸鼠市场在20世纪80年代末崩溃时,这种猫大小的动物数量疯长。根据but判断,这是转折关系,以前由于皮毛交易,海狸鼠处于控制之中,现在这种海狸鼠之所以能够数量激增,是由于市场不再销售海狸鼠皮毛导致的,可以推断出画线词collapsed和D项“崩溃”意思最相近。故选D。
7.What
can
we
infer
about
wearing
fur
in
New
York
according
to
Morgan?
A.It's
formal.
B.It's
risky.
C.It's
harmful.
D.It's
traditional.
B 解析:推理判断题。根据最后一段第二句“Model
Paige
Morgan
says,‘To
give
people
a
guilt?free
option
that
they
can
wear
without
someone
throwing
paint
on
them—I
think
that's
going
to
be
a
massive
thing,
at
least
here
in
New
York.’”可知,为了给人们一种无罪的选择,人们可以穿皮衣而不被人们泼油漆,这在纽约将是一件巨大的事情,由此可知,在纽约穿皮质衣服是有风险的。故选B。
C
In
my
senior
year
of
high
school,
Mike
and
I
were
lined
up
in
front
of
a
small
group
of
students
made
up
mainly
of
the
leaders
of
the
senior
classes.Our
teacher
said
to
us,“The
two
of
you
will
never
amount
to
anything.”
There
was
some
snickering(窃笑)
from
some
of
the
seniors
as
the
teacher
continued,“From
now
on,I
am
not
going
to
waste
any
more
time
on
either
of
you.I
am
only
going
to
spend
my
time
with
these
class
leaders.You
two
are
the
class
downs
with
bad
grades,
and
you
will
never
amount
to
anything.Now
get
out
of
here.”
That
teacher
did
Mike
and
me
the
biggest
favor
of
all.While
what
she
said
was
true
in
many
ways
and
her
words
hurt
us
deeply,
her
words
also
inspired
both
of
us
to
work
even
harder.They
carried
us
through
college
and
into
our
own
businesses.
A
few
years
ago,
Mike
and
I
attended
our
high
school
reunion.It
was
nice
to
visit
with
people
with
whom
we
had
spent
three
years
during
a
period
of
time
when
none
of
us
really
knew
who
we
were.It
was
also
interesting
to
see
that
most
of
the
so?called
senior
leaders
had
not
become
successful
in
the
years
after
high
school.
I
tell
this
story
because
Mike
and
I
were
not
academic
whiz
kids.We
were
neither
financial
experts
nor
athletic
stars.For
the
most
part,
we
were
slow?to?average
learners
and
students.In
my
opinion,we
were
not
as
naturally
gifted
as
our
fathers.Yet
it
was
our
teacher's
stinging
words
and
the
snickering
from
our
classmates
that
gave
us
the
strength
to
move
forward,
to
learn
from
our
mistakes
and
to
keep
doing
in
both
good
times
and
bad
times.
Just
because
you
didn't
do
well
in
school,
were
not
popular,
bad
in
math,
or
have
other
reasons
to
underestimate
yourself—none
of
them
count
in
the
long
run.They
only
count
if
you
think
they
count.
For
those
who're
considering
beginning
your
own
financial
fast
track,
you
may
have
some
doubts
about
your
abilities.Trust
that
you
have
everything
you
need
right
now
to
be
successful
financially.All
it
takes
to
bring
out
your
natural
God?given
gifts
is
your
desire,
determination
and
a
deep
faith
that
you
have
a
genius
and
a
gift
that
is
unique.
语篇解读:这是一篇夹叙夹议文。文章通过作者和朋友受到老师刻薄的话的启发,更加努力学习最终取得成功的故事,告诉读者不要因为自己在学校不够优秀就低估自己,只要有渴望并对自己有信心就有取得成功的可能。
8.What
did
Mike
and
I
think
of
the
teacher's
words?
A.Her
stinging
words
inspired
them.
B.Her
inspiring

hurt
them
deeply.
C.Her
encouraging
words
helped
them
through
bad
times.
D.Her
bitter
words

her
words
hurt
us
deeply,
her
words
also
inspired
both
of

A.Her
stinging
words
inspired
them.(她刺耳的话启发了他们)符合以上说法,故选A项。
9.The
underlined
word
“whiz”
in
Paragraph
5
means
“”.
A.know?nothing
B.slow

tell
this
story
because
Mike

who
have
faith
in
themselves(那些相信自己的人。)符合以上说法,故选A项。
第二节 (共5小题;每小题2分,满分10分)
根据短文内容,从短文后的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。
Don't
judge
a
book
by
its
cover.We
have
heard
that
advice
over
and
over
again.And
it
makes
sense.Why
should
we
judge
someone
who
is
overweight
simply
by
how
they
look?
It
has
nothing
to
do
with
them
as
a
person,
and
it
says
nothing
about
all
they
have
achieved
in
life.
__11__We
should
not
judge
them
as
healthy
simply
because
they
are
thin.
We
care
so
much
about
weight
that
we
think
those
who
succeed
in
keeping
a
“healthy
weight”
must
be
healthy.
Many
studies
have
shown
that
being
overweight
increases
the
risk
of
diabetes,
heart
disease,
and
even
death.__12__
Some
studies
just
look
at
pounds.Some
use
body
mass
index(BMI)
which
includes
both
height
and
weight
measurements.But
neither
one
says
anything
about
overall
health
for
sure.
In
some
studies,
a
person's
fitness
has
been
shown
to
be
more
important
than
overall
weight.
That
means
those
at
“normal”
weight,
but
below
average
fitness
could
be
at
higher
risk
than
fitter
and
heavier
people.__13__
If
you
are
thin
and
want
to
know
if
your
health
may
be
at
risk,
whole
body
MRIs
(磁共振成像)can
tell
you
if
you
are
a
TOFI
(thin
on
the
outside,
fat
on
the
inside).This
is
thought
to
increase
your
health
risk
even
if
you
have
a
perfect
body
weight.__14__
Rather,
creating
and
keeping
healthy
lifestyle
habits
should
be
the
goal.
Start
now
and
you
will
be
on
your
way
to
improving
your
overall
health.__15__But
even
if
it
doesn't,
rest
assured
you
are
still
improving
your
health
and
your
life.
A.The
same
holds
true
for
thin
people.
B.Weight
loss
will
usually

语篇解读:这是一篇说明文。文章讲述了对健康的不同评判,最终结论是不能只看体重,而应该更关注综合健康状况。
11.A 解析:下文“We
should
not
judge
them
as
healthy
simply
because
they
are
thin.(我们不能仅仅因为他们瘦就认为他们健康。)”与A.The
same
holds
true
for
thin
people.(这同样也适合于瘦人。)承接自然,thin是关键词,故选A项。
12.F 解析:上文“Many
studies
have
shown
that
being
overweight
increases
the
risk
of
diabetes,heart
disease,
and
even
death.(许多研究证明,超重可能增加糖尿病、心脏病甚至死亡的风险。)”与F.But
the
problem
lies
with
how
we
can
know
we
are
overweight.(但问题在于我们怎么知道自己超重了。)承接自然,上下文是明显的转折关系,overweight是关键词,故选F项。
13.G 解析:上文“That
means
those
at
“normal”
weight,
but
below
average
fitness
could
be
at
higher
risk
than
fitter
and
heavier
people.(这意味着那些处于“正常”体重,但低于平均水平的健康状况的人可能比身体更健康、体重更重的人风险更大。)”与G.So
there
is
no
such
thing
as
healthy
weight,
only
healthy
lifestyles.(因此,没有健康体重这种说法,只有健康的生活方式。)承接自然,上下文是明显的因果关系,因为体重不能决定健康状况,所以只有健康的生活方式,故选G项。
14.D 解析:下文“Rather,
creating
and
keeping
healthy
lifestyle
habits
should
be
the
goal.(相反,保持健康的生活习惯应该是目标。)”与D.So
weight
loss
should
not
be
what
we
always
dream
of.(因此,减肥不应该是我们一直梦想的。)承接自然,因为体重完美也不能保证健康,所以不要总是想着减肥,而要培养健康的生活习惯,故选D项。
15.B 解析:下文“But
even
if
it
doesn't,
rest
assured
you
are
still
improving
your
health
and
your
life.(即使那没有,也请放心,你仍然在改善你的健康和生活。)”与B.Weight
loss
will
usually
naturally
follow.(减肥通常是自然而然的。)承接自然,下文的it就代指选项中的weight
loss,故选B项。

36.who 解析:考查定语从句。分析句子可知,此处是非限制性定语从句的关系词,先行词Luo
Jiajia在从句中充当主语,应用关系代词,故填who。
37.meaningful 解析:考查形容词。此处应填形容词作为life的定语,故填meaningful。
38.to
address 解析:考查不定式。此处考查固定短语take
action
to
do
sth.“采取措施做某事”的被动形式,不定式在该结构中表目的,故填to
address。
39.on 解析:考查介词。此处考查短语focus
on
“关注”,故填on。
40.has
brought 解析:考查时态。此处是句子谓语动词,由so
far判断为现在完成时,主语是单数,故填has
brought。
41.would
have
been
forced 解析:考查虚拟语气。句意:如果没有CGF
和the
Million
Forest项目的努力,很多当地人作为生态难民会被迫离开他们的家园。根据句意和without判断此处是含蓄虚拟语气,因与过去事实相反,应用would
have
done,又主语locals和force之间是被动关系,故用被动语态,故填would
have
been
forced。
42.produced 解析:考查非谓语动词。分析句子可知,此处是非谓语动词作后置定语,逻辑主语fruit和produce之间是被动关系,应用过去分词,故填produced。
43.the 解析:考查冠词。结合上下文可知,此处特指上文提到的Million
Forest项目,应用定冠词,故填the。
44.it 解析:考查代词。结合上下文可知,此处应是“尊重大自然”,因前文出现过nature,为了避免重复此处用it来指代,故填it。
45.if 解析:考查连词。句意:对你来说每天种一棵树是不可能的,但如果你内心有一棵树,你就可以照顾整个环境……结合句意和句子结构可知,此处用连词if“如果”符合语境,故填if。
