A
Annette
Larkins
is
an
incredible
woman
who
looks
like
a
healthy
40?year?old,
although
she
just
turned
70.She
follows
a
special
raw
diet
and
only
drinks
rainwater.
She
looks
so
young
that
people
mistake
her
for
the
daughter,
when
she's
out
with
her
husband
of
54
years,
but
I
suppose
he
isn't
complaining.
Mrs
Larkins
says
the
secret
to
her
beauty
lies
in
her
special
diet,
consisting
of
organic
vegetables,
fruits,
seeds
and
nuts
grown
in
her
own
garden;
she
calls
it
the
“fountain
of
youth”.The
woman
doesn't
touch
anything
that
has
been
cooked.
And
another
strange
thing
she
does
is
to
collect
rainwater,to
keep
her
garden
blossoming,
but
also
to
drink.But
the
resident
of
Miami?Dade
County,
Florida,
didn't
always
have
such
a
healthy
lifestyle.In
fact,
she
consumed
meat
regularly,
as
her
husband
used
to
own
a
meat
factory
way
back
in
the
1960s.It
was
then
that
she
decided
to
change
her
eating
habits
forever.And
what
a
great
decision
that
was.I
mean,
just
look
at
her!
When
she
started
off,
Mrs
Larkins
was
just
looking
for
a
few
health
benefits
and
never
anticipated
that
she
would
look
like
a
40?year?old
at
the
age
of
70.Over
the
27
years,
Mrs
Larkins
has
been
eating
raw
food,
and
she
has
written
two
booklets
called
Journey
to
Health
and
also
produced
a
DVD
containing
all
her
healthy
secrets.
Her
husband,
Mr
Larkins,
wishes
he
had
followed
her
example,
because
now
he
looks
much,
much
older
and
also
suffers
from
diabetes(糖尿病)
and
high
blood
pressure.He
takes
prescription
medicine
every
day,
but
Annette
doesn't
even
take
an
aspirin.
1.What
does
the
underlined
word
“it”
in
Paragraph
3
refer
to?
A.The
organic
food.
B.Her
beauty.
C.Specially
cooked
food.
D.Her
raw
diet.
2.What
kind
of
person
does
the
author
think
Mrs
Larkins
is?
A.Strong?willed.
B.Honest.
C.Modest.
D.Open?minded.
3.What
did
the
woman
do
with
her
healthy
secrets?
A.She
sold
them
to
the
local
people.
B.She
abandoned
them
at
the
age
of
70.
C.She
publicized
them
in
various
ways.
D.She
improved
them
with
her
husband's
help.
B
As
the
parent
of
two
teenagers
who
have
played
multiple
sports
over
the
years,
I've
seen
the
good,
the
bad,
the
ugly
and
the
absolutely
cruel.
However,
when
I
think
about
the
value
of
sports
and
why
my
kids
continue
to
play
sports
teach
kids
lessons
to
become
successful
adults.Through
sports,
kids
learn
how
to
work
in
teams,
how
to
take
risks,
how
to
challenge
themselves
to
be
better,
and
how
to
behave
when
they
lose—and
when
they
win.
Whether
kids
play
soccer,
baseball,
football,
or
cheer,
they
learn
they
are
part
of
a
team
where
one
person
depends
on
another.When
my
son
plays
baseball,
he's
not
the
only
one
who
needs
to
play
well;
he
depends
on
his
defense
to
make
the
plays
in
the
field.When
my
daughter
plays
tennis,
she
depends
on
her
partner
to
cut
off
the
ball
at
the
net
and
win
the
point,
and
the
tennis
team
depends
on
each
person
in
order
to
win
the
overall
match.Sports
also
teach
children
to
trust
and
respect
the
decisions
of
someone
who
understands
how
the
entire
team
needs
to
work
in
order
to
succeed.
Sadly,
though,
youth
sports
have
suffered
from
the
“winning_isn't_everything;_it's_the_only_thing”
attitude.They
have
become
too
much
of
a
reflection
of
professional
sports.Winning
is
a
happy
result,
but
the
lessons
from
losing
are
even
more
important.When
my
daughter
loses
tennis
match,
her
coach
reminds
her
that
you
learn
more
from
losing
than
from
winning.Losing
makes
you
focus
on
improving
your
skills
and
your
strategy.We're
going
to
learn
from
our
mistakes
and
not
repeat
them.
I
believe
that
participating
in
youth
sports
is
much
more
than
building
a
sound
body
winning
a
scholarship
to
college.Sports
are
the
best
way
to
shape
and
build
more
self?motivated
and
happier
children
and
help
them
become
more
self?motivated
and
happier
adults.
4.What
is
the
author's
attitude
to
youth
sports?
A.Critical.
B.Positive.
C.Doubtful.
D.Unclear.
5.What
does
Paragraph
2
mainly
talk
about?
A.What
sports
the
author's
kids
take.
B.What
the
author's
kids
do
in
sports.
C.How
sports
benefit
the
author's
kids.
D.How
the
author's
kids
continue
to
play
sports.
6.What
does
the
underlined
sentence
in
Paragraph
4
mean?
A.Teenagers
don't
have
to
win
every
time.
B.Winning
is
the
only
goal
for
teen
players.
C.Teenagers
should
work
together
to
succeed.
D.Winning
is
not
the
most
important
in
sports.
7.What
is
the
best
title
for
the
text?
A.Youth
Sports
Build
Better
Adults
B.Teenagers
Suffer
from
Youth
Sports
C.Losing
Brings
More
than
Winning
Does
D.Teenagers
Perform
Better
than
Adults
in
Sports
C
Roughly
the
size
of
a
soda
can,
sitting
on
a
bookshelf,
a
relatively
harmless
device
may
be
turning
friends
away
from
your
home.The
elephant
in
your
living
room
is
your
Internet?connected
camera,
a
device
people
are
increasingly
using
for
peace
of
mind
in
their
homes.But
few
stop
to
think
about
the
effect
these
devices
may
have
on
house
guests.Should
you
tell
your
friends,
for
instance,
that
they're
being
recorded
while
you
all
watch
the
big
game
together?
“It's
certainly
new
territory
(领地),
especially
as
home
security
cameras
become
easier
to
fix,”
says
Lizzie
Post,
president
of
the
Emily
Post
Institute,
America's
distinguished
manners
advisors.“I
think
it
will
be
very
interesting
to
see
what
manners
appear
in
terms
of
whether
you
tell
people
you
have
a
camera
or
not,
and
whether
guests
have
a
right
to
ask
that
it
be
turned
off,
if
it's
not
a
security
issue.”
Post
wants
to
make
clear
that
she's
not
talking
about
legal
rights,
but
rather
personal
preference.
When
it
comes
to
security
cameras,
Post
says
it's
a
host's
responsibility
to
make
sure
guests
feel
comfortable
within
their
home.If
the
host
casually
acknowledges
that
there
is
a
camera
in
the
room
by
telling
a
story
about,
it
that
may
be
enough
to
provide
an
opening
for
a
guest
to
say
if
they
are
uncomfortable.
However,
if
a
contractor(合约工)
is
working
in
your
home,
you
don't
need
to
tell
them
that
there
are
cameras
watching.Then
again,
the
camera
can
also
work
in
contractors'
favor.“If
anything
does
go
wrong
while
they're
in
the
house,
they
don't
want
to
be
blamed
for
it,”
she
says.“In
fact,
the
camera
could
be
the
thing
that
proves
that
they
didn't
steal
the
$20,
or
knock
the
vase
off
the
table.”
8.What
is
Lizzie
Post
mainly
discussing
about
the
use
of
home
security
cameras?
A.Legal
rights.
B.Moral
issues.
C.The
possible
impact
on
health.
D.Likes
and
dislikes
of
individuals.
9.According
to
Post,
what
is
a
host's
responsibility
concerning
the
security
camera?
A.Indicating
its
position.
B.Turning
it
on
all
the
time.
C.Making
their
guests
feel
at
ease.
D.Having
a
casual
talk
with
guests.
10.What's
the
author's
attitude
towards
the
security
camera?
A.Negative.
B.Pessimistic.
C.Favorable.
D.Objective.

It

Uncle

us

I

I
asked
Uncle
Paul
if
I
could
take
a
horse
ride,
and
he
said
yes,
as
long
as
my
dad
went
with
me.I
wasn't
going
to
take
a
horse
ride
by
myself
anyway.So,
my
dad
and
I
put
on
our
new
cowboy
hats,
got
on
our
horses,
and
headed
slowly
towards
the
mountains.“Don't
be
late
for
supper,”
Uncle
Paul
cried,
“and
keep
to
the
track
so
that
you
don't
get_lost!”
“OK!”
my
dad
cried
back.After
a
while
Uncle
Paul
and
his
farmhouse
were
out
of
sight.It
was
so
peaceful
and
quiet
and
the
colors
of
the
brown
rocks,
the
deep
green
pine
trees,
and
the
late
afternoon
sun
mixed
to
create
a
magic
scene.It
looked
like
a
beautiful
woven(编织的)
blanket
spread
out
upon
the
ground
just
for
us.

A
Annette
Larkins
is
an
incredible
woman
who
looks
like
a
healthy
40?year?old,
although
she
just
turned
70.She
follows
a
special
raw
diet
and
only
drinks
rainwater.
She
looks
so
young
that
people
mistake
her
for
the
daughter,
when
she's
out
with
her
husband
of
54
years,
but
I
suppose
he
isn't
complaining.
Mrs
Larkins
says
the
secret
to
her
beauty
lies
in
her
special
diet,
consisting
of
organic
vegetables,
fruits,
seeds
and
nuts
grown
in
her
own
garden;
she
calls
it
the
“fountain
of
youth”.The
woman
doesn't
touch
anything
that
has
been
cooked.
And
another
strange
thing
she
does
is
to
collect
rainwater,to
keep
her
garden
blossoming,
but
also
to
drink.But
the
resident
of
Miami?Dade
County,
Florida,
didn't
always
have
such
a
healthy
lifestyle.In
fact,
she
consumed
meat
regularly,
as
her
husband
used
to
own
a
meat
factory
way
back
in
the
1960s.It
was
then
that
she
decided
to
change
her
eating
habits
forever.And
what
a
great
decision
that
was.I
mean,
just
look
at
her!
When
she
started
off,
Mrs
Larkins
was
just
looking
for
a
few
health
benefits
and
never
anticipated
that
she
would
look
like
a
40?year?old
at
the
age
of
70.Over
the
27
years,
Mrs
Larkins
has
been
eating
raw
food,
and
she
has
written
two
booklets
called
Journey
to
Health
and
also
produced
a
DVD
containing
all
her
healthy
secrets.
Her
husband,
Mr
Larkins,
wishes
he
had
followed
her
example,
because
now
he
looks
much,
much
older
and
also
suffers
from
diabetes(糖尿病)
and
high
blood
pressure.He
takes
prescription
medicine
every
day,
but
Annette
doesn't
even
take
an
aspirin.

B
As
the
parent
of
two
teenagers
who
have
played
multiple
sports
over
the
years,
I've
seen
the
good,
the
bad,
the
ugly
and
the
absolutely
cruel.
However,
when
I
think
about
the
value
of
sports
and
why
my
kids
continue
to
play
sports
teach
kids
lessons
to
become
successful
adults.Through
sports,
kids
learn
how
to
work
in
teams,
how
to
take
risks,
how
to
challenge
themselves
to
be
better,
and
how
to
behave
when
they
lose—and
when
they
win.
Whether
kids
play
soccer,
baseball,
football,
or
cheer,
they
learn
they
are
part
of
a
team
where
one
person
depends
on
another.When
my
son
plays
baseball,
he's
not
the
only
one
who
needs
to
play
well;
he
depends
on
his
defense
to
make
the
plays
in
the
field.When
my
daughter
plays
tennis,
she
depends
on
her
partner
to
cut
off
the
ball
at
the
net
and
win
the
point,
and
the
tennis
team
depends
on
each
person
in
order
to
win
the
overall
match.Sports
also
teach
children
to
trust
and
respect
the
decisions
of
someone
who
understands
how
the
entire
team
needs
to
work
in
order
to
succeed.
Sadly,
though,
youth
sports
have
suffered
from
the
“winning_isn't_everything;_it's_the_only_thing”
attitude.They
have
become
too
much
of
a
reflection
of
professional
sports.Winning
is
a
happy
result,
but
the
lessons
from
losing
are
even
more
important.When
my
daughter
loses
tennis
match,
her
coach
reminds
her
that
you
learn
more
from
losing
than
from
winning.Losing
makes
you
focus
on
improving
your
skills
and
your
strategy.We're
going
to
learn
from
our
mistakes
and
not
repeat
them.
I
believe
that
participating
in
youth
sports
is
much
more
than
building
a
sound
body
winning
a
scholarship
to
college.Sports
are
the
best
way
to
shape
and
build
more
self?motivated
and
happier
children
and
help
them
become
more
self?motivated
and
happier
adults.

of
professional
sports.Winning
is
a
happy
result,
but
the
lessons
from
losing
are
even
more
important.”可知,他们已经过多地反映了职业体育运动。胜利是一个快乐的结果,但是失败的教训更加重要。因此,画线部分的意思是“胜利是青少年球员的唯一目标。”故B项正确。
7.What
is
the
best
title
for
the
text?
A.Youth
Sports
Build
Better
Adults
B.Teenagers
Suffer
from
Youth
Sports

are
the
best
way
to
shape
and
build
more
self?motivated
and
happier
children
and
help
them
become
more
self?motivated

“It's

says
Lizzie
Post,

of
the

Post
Institute,
America's
distinguished
manners
advisors.“I
think
it
will
be
very
interesting
to
see
what
manners
appear
in
terms
of
whether
you
tell
people
you

a
camera
or
not,
and
whether
guests

that

if
it's

a

issue.”
Post
wants
to
make
clear
that
she's
not
talking
about
legal
rights,
but
rather
personal
preference.
When
it
comes
to
security
cameras,
Post
says
it's
a
host's
responsibility
to
make
sure
guests
feel
comfortable
within
their
home.If
the
host
casually
acknowledges
that
there
is
a
camera
in
the
room
by
telling
a
story
about,
it
that
may
be
enough
to
provide
an
opening
for
a
guest
to
say
if
they
are
uncomfortable.
However,
if
a
contractor(合约工)
is
working
in
your
home,
you
don't
need
to
tell
them
that
there
are
cameras
watching.Then
again,
the
camera
can
also
work
in
contractors'
favor.“If
anything
does
go
wrong
while
they're
in
the
house,
they
don't
want
to
be
blamed
for
it,”
she
says.“In
fact,
the
camera
could
be
the
thing
that
proves
that
they
didn't
steal
the
$20,
or
knock
the
vase
off
the
table.”

security
cameras?
A.Legal
rights.

issues.
C.The
possible
impact
on
health.

of
individuals.
D 解析:细节理解题。根据第二段中的“Post
wants
to
make
clear
that
she's
not
talking
about
legal
rights,
but
rather
personal
preference.”可知,波斯特想表明,她谈论的不是法律权利,而是个人偏好。由此可知,波斯特主要讨论的是使用家庭安全摄像头是人们的个人喜恶,故D项正确。

Post,
what
is
a
host's
responsibility
concerning
the
security
camera?

its

comfortable
within

10.What's
the
author's
attitude
towards
the
security
camera?
A.Negative.

语篇解读:这是一篇说明文。列举了早晨锻炼对人体的四条好处,号召人们早点起床,进行身体锻炼。
11.G 解析:根据空前的内容“生活忙碌没有时间锻炼”和空后的内容“晨练除了身体健康之外,还能带来其他好处”及下文接着列举了晨练的其他好处可知,此处缺一个承上启下句。G项中...then
listen
up!(……那么请仔细听!)很好地起到了承上启下的作用。故选G。
12.E 解析:根据上一句“Exercising
makes
you
more
awake...(锻炼能让你更清醒……)”,E项(你可以在运动后保持头脑清醒4-10个小时。)是对上一句的进一步解释。故选E。
13.F 解析:空前句子是本段的主题句,晨练是新陈代谢的开始,空后句子说如果晨练,你会得到卡路里一整天都在燃烧的益处,F项(锻炼之后,你一整天都在燃烧卡路里。)是空后句子的根据,空后句子是对F项的进一步延伸。故选F。
14.B 解析:此处缺一个主题句。空后句子解释了早起锻炼的人比晚上锻炼的人睡得更好。B项(你的睡眠质量提高了。)是对后面内容的总述。故选B。
15.A 解析:根据空后句子“If

the
morning,
you
will
be
more
likely
to
stick
to

36.publishers 解析:考查名词。此处与and后面的bookstores一起构成并列主语,publisher为可数名词,且其前无限定词修饰,故填publishers。
37.them 解析:考查代词。join表示“成为……的一员,加入”,是及物动词,后面应跟宾语,故填they的宾格形式them。
38.who/that 解析:考查定语从句。先行词是people,空处在从句中作主语,故填who/that。
39.the 解析:考查冠词。on
the
Internet“在网上”,为固定搭配。
40.to
discuss 解析:考查非谓语动词。他们发送电子邮件而不是聚集起来讨论他们读过的书。此处动词不定式作目的状语。
41.various 解析:考查形容词。大部分读书俱乐部研究不同作家的书。空后的writers为名词,应该用形容词来修饰,variety的形容词形式为various,故填various。
42.usually 解析:考查副词。空后的“one
that
has
been
famous
for
a
while”是空前writer的同位语。usually起强调作用,修饰代词one。
43.be
named 解析:考查被动语态。此处name是动词,意为“命名”,在句中作谓语,与主语“Other
groups”之间为被动关系,且空前有情态动词,故填be
named。
44.like 解析:考查介词。其他的俱乐部可能以一个作家的作品里的一个重要人物而命名,比如夏洛克·福尔摩斯俱乐部。空后为举例子,故填like“像,例如”。
45.chosen 解析:考查非谓语动词。这些读书俱乐部的成员通常是他们选中的阅读材料方面的专家。提示词choose是动词,与其所修饰的名词短语“reading
materials”之间为逻辑上的动宾关系,所以用choose的过去分词作定语,故填chosen。
