The destruction of the island's ecosystem was caused by animals that humans had accidentally brought with them. Human intervention has further undermined the island's ecological balance. So man should make an attempt to restore the island's natural balance.
2. Do you think it was right to eradicate the “pest” from Macquarie Island? Give your reasons.
1. I think it wrong to eradicate the “pest” there. Here are some reasons.
2. Without pests, there would be no creatures that feed on them, and countless creatures would be wiped out, causing great damage to biodiversity and resulting in a more serious consequence than the existence of these so-called pests.
3. How could similar situations be avoided in the future?
1. The introduction of biological species resources from abroad shall be registered or examined and approved according to law, and corresponding safety control measures shall be taken.
2. The government should make the continuous improvement of the existing laws on the introduction of alien species.
