Read the following information and find out their relationship
Frederick William I (1688-1740) was the son of Frederick I, who was the first king in Prussia. Frederick William I became king in Prussia from 1713 after his father’s death. He is popularly known as “the Solider-King” , and he hired the tallest men he could find in all of Europe as his soldiers.
Peter the Great (1672-1725) was the Czar (沙皇) of Russia. He carried out a series of reforms(改革) and opened Russia to the West . He invited the best European engineers, craftsmen and businessmen to come to Russia to build the country. Hundreds of Russians were sent to Europe to get the best education possible and learn different arts and crafts.
Catherine II was born in Germany in 1729. She became the only empress(女皇) of Russia in 1762. Catherine’s rule developed Russia, which grew stronger than ever and became recognized as one of the great powers of Europe. She had successes in foreign policy(外交政策).
