课时作业
Ⅰ.阅读
(2020·广东省惠州市高三第二次调研考试)When
HarmonyOS,
the
Chinese
self?developed
operating
system
for
Huawei
mobile
devices,
was
released
on
Aug.
9,
it
quickly
became
a
hot
topic
on
social
media.
Many
believe
it
not
only
represents
the
rise
of
the
country
as
a
tech
power,
but
also
shows
respect
to
classical
Chinese
culture
by
naming
the
system
“Hongmeng”
in
Chinese.
“Hongmeng”
is
a
classical
word
from
Zhuangzi.
In
the
ancient
times
of
Chinese
legend
and
myths
(神话),
“Hongmeng”
was
used
to
describe
the
original
state
of
the
universe
before
matter
existed.
For
HarmonyOS,
“Hongmeng”
indicates
the
developers'
aim
to
make
an
innovative
operating
system,
unlike
any
other.
Besides
“Hongmeng”,
Huawei
has
also
registered
many
of
its
products
under
the
names
of
legendary
creatures
from
Chinese
myths.
For
example,
the
company's
Kirin
mobile
chip
got
its
name
after
a
lucky
monster
called
“Qilin”.
And
its
server
chip
is
called
“Kunpeng”,
a
creature
that
changed
from
a
fish
into
a
giant
bird.
Many
Chinese
Internet
users
and
media
have
praised
Huawei's
use
of
these
names,
“as
they
stand
for
Chinese
wisdom
and
ancient
people's
imagination
and
spirit
of
exploration”,
Global
Times
noted.
In
fact,
Huawei
is
not
alone
in
using
traditional
culture
for
modern
ventures.
Ne
Zha,
the
new
film,
also
portrays
traditional
culture
in
a
modern
context.
The
movie
is
loosely
based
on
the
well?known
work
of
classical
Chinese
myth
The
Investiture
of
the
Gods.
Earlier
this
month
it
became
the
biggest
animated
movie
in
China
and
was
called
“the
glory
of
domestic
anime
(国产动漫)”.
Indeed,
the
long
history
and
splendid
classic
works
have
given
China
a
profound
culture.
Myths
and
legends
are
the
creative
works
of
tremendous
imagination.
As
Global
Times
put
it,
today
by
revisiting
a
modern
context,
“ancient
myths
have
the
power
to
inspire
imagination
in
young
people”.
After
all,
imagination
is
the
beginning
of
creation.

It
was

o'clock
in
the
morning.
In
the
Rivesville
town
art
gallery,
a
window
opened
and
a
man
came
in.
His
name
was
Harry
Black,
and
he
was
a
thief.
It
was
dark
in
the
art
gallery,
but
Harry
had
a
light.
He
looked
across
the
room
at
a
painting.
“There
it
is!”
he
said.
Harry
moved
quickly
across
the
room.
He
stood
and
looked
at
the
painting.
“A
million
dollars
for
this?”
he
thought.
“I
don't
understand
it.”
But
he
took
a
knife
from
his
coat.
Then
he
took
the
painting
very,
very
slowly
from
its
frame.
Harry
went
back
across
the
room
to
the
window,
but
he
walked
into
a
table.
There
was
a
beautiful
blue
glass
vase
on
the
table.
It
fell
on
the
floor
and
broke
into
pieces.
He
ran
across
the
pieces
of
glass
to
the
window.
Harry
rented
a
room
in
Mrs
Allen's
house.
He
went
quietly
up
to
his
room
and
closed
the
door.
In
his
room,
Harry
took
the
painting
from
his
bag.
He
wrapped
it
with
a
newspaper
and
put
the
newspaper
under
his
bed.
In
the
morning,
Janey
Allen
was
putting
old
bottles
into
a
box.
On
the
TV,
a
reporter
was
at
the
Rivesville
art
gallery.
He
was
talking
about
the
lost
painting
and
the
broken
glass
vase.
Janey
glanced
at
the
photo
of
the
blue
vase.
At
that
time
Harry
wasn't
in
his
room.
He
was
talking
on
his
telephone.
Janey
was
looking
for
old
newspapers.
Every
Friday
morning,
she
took
them
from
every
room
in
the
house.
Then
later,
the
newspaper
recycling
truck
arrived.
Janey
opened
Harry's
door
and
looked
into
his
room.
She
always
took
his
old
newspapers
or
bottles
for
recycling.
She
found
a
newspaper
under
Harry's
bed.
She
put
the
old
newspaper
into
a
black
recycling
box.
Then
she
ran
from
the
house
and
saw
the
truck.
“Wait!”
she
said.
And
she
quickly
gave
the
box
to
one
of
the
men.
Harry
came
back
to
the
house.
He
saw
the
recycling
truck,
and
he
saw
Janey.
“The
newspaper!
Oh,
no!”
Harry
said.
He
chased
after
the
truck.
Then
Janey
called
the
police
on
the
telephone.

A
(2020·河北衡水中学高三第一次联考)Being
highly
successful
in
any
field
is
pretty
rare.
It
takes
a
combination
of
natural
talent,
luck,
determination,
and
plenty
of
outside
support
for
someone
to
make
it
big
in
sports,
entertainment,
or
business.
But
what
if
competing
is
all
that
matters
to
you,
whether
you
are
likely
to
succeed
or
not?
This
was
the
goal
of
Michael
Eddie
the
Eagle
Edwards,
and
that
he
reached
that
goal
was
an
amazing
achievement.
Born
in
the
UK
in
1963,
Michael
was
an
enthusiastic
downhill
skier
whose
dream
was
to
compete
for
Britain
in
world?class
competitions.
He
would
have
liked
to
represent
his
country
in
the
1984
Winter
Olympics,
but
there
were
a
large
number
of
downhill
competitors,
and
Edwards
didn't
qualify.
Seeing
his
chance
elsewhere,
he
switched
to
ski
jumping.
Ski
jumping
didn't
cost
nearly
as
much,
and
there
was
almost
no
competition
for
a
place
on
the
Britain
team.
But
a
number
of
hurdles
(障碍)
could
have
meant
the
end
of
Edwards'
dream.
He
weighed
more
than
most
competitors,
which
put
him
at
a
disadvantage.
He
had
no
financialsupport
for
his
training.
Poor
eyesight
meant
that
he
had
to
wear
glasses
under
his
goggles
(护目镜)—not
a
good
thing
when
they
steamed
up
at
high
altitudes.
But
he
couldn't
let
any
of
this
discourage
him.
He
saw
himself
as
a
true
lover
of
the
sport
who
simply
wanted
the
chance
to
compete.
Winning
wasn't
the
point.
Having
the
opportunity
to
try
was
all
he
cared
about.
And
nothing
could
stop
him
from
trying.
In
the
end,
Edwards
took
55th
place
in
the
1987
World
Championships.
He
then
went
on
to
the
Calgary
Olympics
in
1988,
where
he

What
does
Wi-Fi
stand
for?
Long
gone
are
the
days
of
dial-up
and
waiting
for
your
turn
to
use
the
computer.
It's
easier
than
ever
to
connect
to
the
Internet
in
the
digital
world
today.
1
Wi-Fi
is
a
wireless
network
that
uses
radio
frequency
signals
to
connect
to
the
Internet
or
send
messages
between
devices
without
wires.
Everything
from
your
phone
and
laptop
to
tablets
and
printers
can
use
Wi-Fi,
thanks
to
these
waves.
2
Two
years
later,
a
group
of
companies
formed
the
Wireless
Ethernet
Compatibility
Alliance
(WECA,
now
the
Wi-Fi
Alliance),
a
global
non-profit
organization
created
to
promote
the
new
Wi-Fi
standard.
None
of
that
history
explains
what
Wi-Fi
stands
for,
because
the
phrase
doesn't
stand
for
anything.
Wi-Fi
is
a
trademarked
term
describing
the
device
or
technology
based
on
the
Institute
of
Electrical
and
Electronics
Engineers
(IEEE)
wireless
communication
standard
802.11,
according
to
the
Wi-Fi
Alliance.
3
So
the
Wi-Fi
Alliance
hired
the
marketing
company
Interbrand
to
come
up
with
a
shorter
name:
Wi-Fi,
according
to
one
of
the
founding
Alliance
members.
4
The
rumor
that
it
stands

“Wireless

(无线保真)”
is
thanks
to
the
Alliance.
Some
members
didn't
understand
the
branding
or
marketing
for
Wi-Fi.
They
felt
consumers
would
want
an
explanation
for
the
name.
So
the
Alliance
agreed
to
include
a
tagline:
The
Standard
for
Wireless
Fidelity.
That's
why
so
many
people
assume
Wi-Fi
stands
for
wireless
fidelity,
but
the
tagline
came
after
the
name.

A.That's

B.This
is
mostly

C.The
name
caused
a
misconception
about
Wi-Fi.
D.There
is
some
debate
surrounding
the
question
what
Wi-Fi
stands
for.
E.In
1997,
a

F.Several

篇章导读:本文是一篇说明文。在当今的数字世界,上网比之前更加容易,这主要感谢Wi-Fi,本文介绍了什么是Wi-Fi。
1.B 根据第一段前两句可知,拨号上网的日子早已成为过去,如今和以往相比更容易连接网络,且设空处下文紧接着介绍了Wi-Fi的相关内容,由此可知,B项“这主要感谢Wi-Fi”承上启下,符合语境。
2.E 根据设空后一句可知,两年后,几个公司成立了无线以太网兼容性联盟,目的是推广新的Wi-Fi标准。与新的标准相对应则是一般的、普通的标准,E项中的“a
common
Wi-Fi
standard”与设空后的“new
Wi-Fi
standard”对应,再结合常识和语境可知答案选E项。
3.A 根据前一句可知,根据Wi-Fi联盟的说法,Wi-Fi是一个商标术语,用来描述基于IEEE无线通信标准802.11的设备或技术,下文表明Wi-Fi联盟聘请了营销公司Interbrand为它起了一个短一点的名字:Wi-Fi;由此可知,上文的那个名字又长又拗口。故A项符合语境。mouthful意为“又长又拗口的词(或短语)”。
4.D 根据下文中的“The
rumor
that”和“Some
members
didn't
understand”可推知,人们对于Wi-Fi是什么这个问题还有一些争议,故选D。
5.G 根据设空后一句可知,作者建议不要混淆两者;设空前两句又表述该联盟的标签带来了混淆。由此可知,G项“而且,虽然该联盟去除了这个标签,但它带来的困惑到现在仍然存在”符合语境。
Ⅳ.概要写作
阅读下面短文,根据其内容写一篇60词左右的内容概要。
The
Internet
provides
people
with
a
large
quantity
of
information,
but
is
so
much
information
valuable
for
people,
or
does
it
cause
problems
to
people?
In
my
opinion,
every
coin
has
two
sides.
The
advantages
of
the
Internet

are
much
more
than
the
disadvantages
it
brings
to
people.
The
Internet
advocates
freedom

This
is
an
important
part
of
a
successful
modern
democratic
(民主的)
society.
With
a
good
many
information
sources,
people
have
the
opportunity
to
teach
themselves.
The
knowledge
that
people
master
will
allow
them
to
make
contributions
to
the
development
of
the
society.
In
the
same
way,
the
ability
to
listen
to
different
opinions
will
allow
people
to
join
in
meaningful
dialogues
with
others.
This
will
make
people
more
and
more
open-minded
and
the
society
more
and
more
tolerant
(宽容的).
The
Internet,
through
the
information
on
it,
will
bring
together
people
of
the
same
interests
and
the
same
concerns,
and
encourage
them
to
work
together.
They
will
become
active

of

However,
critics

of
information
on
the
Internet
are
worried
that
incorrect
or
bad
information
will
have
a
harmful
influence
on
people.
People
will
be
addicted
to
it
and
act
on
it.
This
concern
is
very
reasonable,
because
the
Internet
is
anarchic
(无政府主义的)
in
nature,
and
anyone
that
has
a
computer
can
create
a
website
and
post
information
on
it.
It
is
really
quite
hard
to
determine
whether
the
information
is
correct
or
not.
In
fact,people
can
solve
this
problem
by
learning
to
evaluate
information
sources.
For
example,
the
website
of
a
scientist
at
a
major
university
is
no
doubt
a
much
more
reliable
information
source
than
the
personal
website
of
a
junior
student.

meant
the

at
Turtle

Indonesia.
Upon
arrival
at

each
day,
we
would
look
eagerly
for
our

which
task

Would
it
be
the
highly
desirable
“turtle

the
pretty

the
exciting

Life
at

was
fun

twice

By
“hang

I
obviously
meant
“work”,

it

Another

not
all
the
time
at

was
consumed
by
volunteering.
Scheduled

included
a
trip
to
Crystal

a
beautiful

an
awesome
beach
bonfire
complete
with
a
beautiful
sunset
as
well
as
our
local
coworkers
showing
off
their

playing

skills.
Our
time
at
Turtle
Camp
was
capped
off
by
setting
free
two
of
our
turtles
into
the
sea
to
begin
their
journey
as
independent
turtles!
Hopefully,
the
love
and
care
provided
at
the
turtle
project
would
ensure
that
these
turtles
had
a
greater
chance
of
survival
in
the
big,
wide
and
scary
ocean.

4.G 空格后一句与G项中的concert相呼应。
5.E 空格前一句中的new
faces与E项中的follow相呼应。

In
the
busy
city
of
New
York,
such
an
amazing
thing
ever
happened.
On
a
cold
Friday
night,
a
poor
artist
stood
at
the
gate
of
the
subway
station,
playing
his
violin.
The
young
violinist
was
a
student
at
an
Arts
College
named
Joseph,
who
did
so
every
day
in
order
to
earn
his
tuition
fees.
He
planned
to
attend
advanced
studies
in
Vienna
and
had
booked
the
flight
the
next
morning.
Though
the
music
was
great,
people
were
quickly
going
home
for
the
weekend.
Joseph
was
playing
his
last
chapter
when
a
middle-aged
man
looking
pretty
excited
slowed
down
his
pace
and
put
50
dollars
into
the
hat,
for
which
Joseph
was
grateful.
The
next
night,
the
young
artist
came
to
the
gate
of
the
subway
station
as
usual,
and
put
his
hat
on
the
ground
gracefully.
Different
from
the
day
before,
he
took
out
a
large
piece
of
paper
and
laid
it
on
the
ground
and
put
some
stones
on
it.
Then
he
began
playing
the
violin.
Before
long,
the
young
artist
was
surrounded
with
many
passers-by,
who
were
all
attracted
by
the
words
on
that
paper.
It
said,
“Last
night,
a
gentleman
named
George
Sang
put
an
unexpected
thing
into
my
hat
by
mistake.
Please
come
to
claim
it
as
soon
as
possible.”
It
caused
a
great
excitement
and
curiosity.
They
were
dying
to
know
what
the
unexpected
thing
could
be.
After
about
half
an
hour,
a
middle-aged
man
ran
there
in
a
hurry
and
rushed
through
the
crowd
to
the
violinist
and
grabbed
his
shoulders
and
said,
“Yes,
it's
you.
You
did
come
here.
I
knew
that
you
were
an
honest
man
and
would
certainly
come
here.”
The
young
violinist
asked
calmly,
“Are
you
Mr
George
Sang?”
The
man
nodded.
The
violinist
asked,
“Did
you
lose
something?”
“Lottery.
It's
lottery,”
replied
the
man.
The
violinist
took
out
a
lottery
ticket
on
which
George
Sang's
name
was
seen.
“Is
it?”
he
asked.
George
nodded
promptly
and
seized
the
lottery
ticket
and
kissed
it,
and
then
he
danced
with
Joseph.
The
story
turned
out
to
be
this:
George
Sang
is
an
ordinary
office
clerk.
This
was
the
scene
just
now.
Out
of
curiosity,
some
passers-by
asked
Joseph

The
story
turned
out
to
be
this:
George
Sang
is
an
ordinary
office
clerk.
He
bought
a
lottery
ticket
the
other
day.
To
his
surprise,
he
was
exactly
the
lucky
dog.
Overjoyed,
George
took
out
50
dollars
when
hearing
wonderful
music
on
his
way
home.
However,
the
lottery
ticket
was
also
thrown
in.
When
Joseph
was
cleaning
up
his
hat
after
ending
a
day's
work,
he
found
the
unexpected
thing.
Thinking
the
owner
must
be
anxious,
he
cancelled
the
flight
and
returned
to
where
he
was
given
the
lottery
ticket.
This
was
the
scene
just
now.
Out
of
curiosity,
some
passers-by
asked
Joseph
why
he
didn't
take
it
for
himself
since
he
was
badly
in
need
of
money.
Joseph
answered,
“It
goes
without
saying
that
if
I
took
it
in
a
dishonest
way,
I
would
succeed
temporarily.
But
in
the
long
run,
I
am
bound
to
be
a
loser.”
Just
as
the
saying
goes,
honesty
is
the
best
policy.
Therefore
we
should
bear
in
mind
that
being
honest
is
what
makes
us
a
good
man.
