Travelling
Abroad
Many
tourists
go
and
see
parks,
museums
and
castles
when
they
visit
a
new
place.
There
are
many
things
I
like
about
travelling,
but
waiting
in
line
to
buy
museum
tickets
and
then
having
your
visit
ruined
by
noisy
tour
groups
is
not
one
of
them.
The
things
that
make
places
special
are
all
around
the
famous
buildings,
not
inside
them.
My
recent
trip
to
India
is
a
good
example
of
this.
By
far
the
most
interesting
part
of
it
was
getting
to
know
people—bicycle-taxi
drivers,
policemen
riding
elephants
and
children
trying
to
earn
some
money
by
cleaning
shoes.
Meeting
various
people
was
all
so
amazing
that
I
didn't
need
to
do
any
"proper"
sightseeing.
I
also
have
fantastic
memories
of
Florence.
It
was
a
boiling
hot
day
and
people
lined
up
for
at
least
a
kilometer
long
outside
the
museum.
Instead
of
joining
it,
I
sat
in
a
shady
square,
ate
a
delicious
pizza
and
listened
to
a
man
singing
opera
songs
to
only
a
few
listeners.
If
I
had
waited
in
line,
I
would
have
missed
this
experience.
One
of
the
best
things
about
travelling
is
creating
memories
to
bring
back.
When
I
got
back
home
from
a
holiday
in
Malaysia,
I
made
some
of
the
dishes
I'd
tasted
in
the
food
market.
Maybe
my
results
weren't
as
good
as
the
real
thing,
but
they
reminded
me
of
the
places
and
the
people
I'd
met—far
better
than
anything
from
a
gift
shop.

If
you
want
to
be
a
volunteer,
you
have
to
answer
the
following
typical
questions.
Do
you
want
to
work
with
people,
animals
or
machines?
Do
you
want
to
work
indoors
or
outdoors,
directly
serve
people
in
need
or
serve
people
behind
the
scenes?
Every
year,
thousands
of
people
in
the
west
offer
volunteer
service.
Volunteering
greatly
strengthens
the
community
because
it
helps
the
old,
the
young,
the
weak,
the
sick,
and
the
disabled
and
the
injured
to
solve
problems.
Volunteers
usually
help
in
many
different
ways.
They
may
give
people
advice,
offer
friendship
to
the
young,
drive
the
elderly
to
church
(if
up
to
the
driving
age),
advise
kids

schools
or
nursing
homes,
raise
funds,
plant
trees,
help
out
in
local
libraries
and
do
many
other
things.
Volunteering
can
be
a
few
hours
a
week
or
a
few
hours
a
month.
Anybody
who
wants
to
serve
people
in
need
can
become
a
volunteer.
In
fact,
the
art
of
volunteering
is
a
process
(过程)of
both
giving
and
receiving.
Volunteering
allows
volunteers
to
meet
new
people,
make
new
friends
and
mix
with
people
from
all
walks
of
life.
Volunteering
is
an
excellent
way
to
experiment
and
try
out
new
techniques
and
skills,
discover
your
individual
(个人的)talents
and
explore
career
choice.
Being
a
volunteer
will
take
you
on
a
wonderful
journey
and
help
you
learn
more
than
what
you
can
get
from
books.
32.
As
a
volunteer,
only
when
you
grow
old
enough
can
you
_______.

plant
trees
on
hills
B.

to
others
C.
drive
the

第二节
七选五
(共5小题;每小题1.5分,满分7
.5分)
You
probably
know
you
should
say
"please"
and
"thank
you"
at
restaurants.
You
probably
know
the
rules
of
a
library.
You
know
you
should
respect
and
be
nice
to
your
classmates.
36
In
fact,
there
are
some
rules
about
playing
music.
·Keep
it
down.
37
You
should
not
play
your
music
so
loud
that
everyone
around
you
can
hear
it.
Some
people
might
even
get
angry.
Usually,
when
you
play
music
loud
on
an
MP3
player,
other
people
can't
hear
the
words
of
the
song.
They
just
hear
a
loud
sound.
No
one
wants
to
listen
to
this.
Very
loud
music
can
also
be
bad
for
your
ears.
·Turn
it
off.
You
need
to
know
when
to
turn
your
MP3
off
and
put
it
away.
Libraries
and
schools
don't
allow
MP3
players.
There
are
other
places,
like
museums,
that
don't
have
rules,
but
it
would
be
rude
to
have
your
MP3
player
on.
Sometimes,
it
doesn't
make
sense
to
listen
on
your
MP3
player
at
an
event.
38
You
would
miss
what
is
going
on
and
others
would
wonder
why
you
even
came.
·Take
one
out.
Once
in
a
while
it's
okay
just
to
take
out
one
earphone
and
not
the
other.
39
It
would
not
be
rude
to
take
out
one
earphone,
tell
him
the
way,
and
put
back
the
earphone
and
continue
listening.
You
can
also
do
this
when
you
order
food
at
a
fast
food
restaurant
or
when
you
answer
the
telephone
and
it's
not
for
you.
·
40
There
are
times
when
you
need
to
decide
what
is
best.
For
example,
some
people
can
listen
to
music
on
their
MP3
players
when
reading
books,
while
others
think
it
is
disturbing.
In
cases
like
this,
you
need
to
do
what
seems
right
for
you.
A.
It's
your
choice.
B.
Don't
make
your
voice
disturb
others.
C.
But
do
you
have
music
manners?
D.
You
have
to
notice
the
amount
of
sound
of
your
music.
E.
Why
would
you
listen
to
music
at
a
play,
a
movie
or
a
sporting
event?
F.
Imagine
you
are
listening
on
your
MP3

The
Meredith

lived
in
a
small
community.
As
the
economy
was
in
decline,
some
people
in
the
town
had
lost
their
jobs.
Many
of
their
families
were
struggling
to

People
were

the
challenges.
Mrs.
Meredith
was
a
most
kind
and
thoughtful
woman.
She
spent
a
great
deal
of
time
visiting
the
poor.
She
knew
they
had
problems,
and
they
needed
all
kinds
of
help.
When
she
had
time,
she
would
bring
food
and

to
them.
One
morning
she
told
her
children
about
a
family
she
had
visited
the
day
before.
There
was
a
man
sick
in
bed,
his
wife,
who
took

him
and
could
not
go
out
to

and
their
little

The
little
boy

interested
her
very
much.
“I
wish

she
said
to
her
own
children,
John,
Harry,
and
Clara.
“He

to
his
mother.
He
wants
very
much
to
earn
some
money,
but
I
don't
see

After
their
mother
left
the
room,
the
children
sat
thinking
about
Bernard.
“I
wish
we
could
help
him
to
earn
money,”
said
Clara.
“His
family
is
suffering
so
much.”
“So
do
I,”
said
Harry.
“We
really
should
do
something
to
assist
them.”
For
some
moments
John
said
nothing,
but,
suddenly,
he
sprang
to
his
feet
and
cried,
“I
have
a
great
idea!
I
have
a
solution
that
we
can
all
help
accomplish(完成).”
The
other
children
also
jumped
up
all
attention.
When
John
had
an
idea,
it
was
sure
to
be
a
good
one.
“I
tell
you
what
we
can
do,”
said
John.
“You

us?
Well,
we

第二节
When
Mrs.
Meredith
heard
of
John’s
idea,
she
thought
it
was
a
good
one,
too.
So,
they
went
to
the
local
supermarket
together.
They
bought
a
bag
of
corn
and
some
special
bags
for
popcorn.
When
they
got
home,
they
made
a
lot
of
popcorn
and
put
it
in
the
special
bags.
With
the
popcorn,
they
went
to
Bernard’s
home.
They
told
Bernard
how
to
sell
the
popcorn.
Bernard
and
his
parents
were
very
grateful.
And
the
Meredith
family
also
felt
very
happy
to
help
this
family.
With
everything
ready,
Bernard
started
out
on
his
new
business.
He
took
the
popcorn
around
to
the
houses
and
sold
all
his
popcorn.
He
earned
a
lot
of
money.
Then,
he
wanted
to
be
self-dependent.
Therefore,
he
asked
Mrs.
Meredith
to
teach
him
how
to
make
popcorn.
After
that,
not
only
did
he
sell
popcorn,
but
he
also
added
cream
and
salt
to
the
popcorn
to
make
it
taste
better.
Bernard
grew
up
to
be
a
remarkable
man.
He
did
not
forget
the
help
of
Meredith’s
family,
and
he
also
did
what
he
could
to
help
those
in
need.

The

it

I

news

We
have
some
cold
weather
headed
toward

this
Thursday
evening.
It
will
start
raining
tonight
around
five
or
six.
And
the
temperature
will
drop
below
freezing
overnight,
which
means
snow
during
the
night!
I
predict
it
will
pile
up
to
three
or
four
inches.
In
the
morning,
it
may
get
even
more
dangerous.
The
snow
may
turn
into
frozen
rain
and
become
ice
everywhere.
Even
though
the
town
is
putting
salt
on
the
roads
to
prepare
for
the
weather,
the
roads
will
still
be
very
icy
and
bad
to
drive
on.
High
schools
around
the
area
have
already
closed
for
tomorrow,
and
the
local

is
considering
shutting.
I
recommend
buying
a

of
food

and
staying
inside
for
the
next
one

two

It
may
take

the

to
push
all
the
snow
off
the
road.
Thanks

be
careful
out
there.
