阅读理解(10分)
"How
are
you?"
is
a
nice
question.It's
a
friendly
way
that
people
in
the
U.S.A
greet
each
other.But
"How
are
you?"
is
also
a
very
unusual
question.It's
a
question
that
often
doesn't
need
an
answer.The
person
who
asks
"How
are
you?"
hopes
to
hear
the
answer
"Fine",
even
if
the
person's
friend
isn't
fine.The
reason
is
that
"How
are
you?"
isn't
really
a
question
and
"Fine"
isn't
really
an
answer.They
are
simply
other
ways
of
saying
"Hello"
or
"Hi".
Sometimes,
people
also
don't
say
exactly
what
they
mean.For
example,
when
someone
asks
"Do
you
agree?",
the
other
person
might
think,
"No,
I
disagree.I
think
you're
wrong?..."
But
it
isn't
very
polite
to
disagree
so
strongly,
so
the
other
person
might
say
"I'm
not
sure."
It's
a
nicer
way
to
say
that
you
don't
agree
with
someone.
People
also
don't
say
exactly
what
they
are
thinking
when
they
finish
talking
with
other
people.For
example,
many
talks
over
the
phone
finish
when
one
person
says
"I've
to
go
now."
Often,
the
person
who
wants
to
hang
up
gives
an
excuse."Someone's
at
the
door."
"Something
is
burning
on
the
stove
(炉灶)."
The
excuses
might
be
real,
or
not.Perhaps
the
person
who
wants
to
hang
up
simply
doesn't
want
to
talk
any
more,
but
it
isn't
polite
to
say
that.The
excuse
is
more
polite,
and
it
doesn't
hurt
the
other
person.
When
they
are
greeting
each
other,
talking
about
an
idea,
or
finishing
a
talk,
people
don't
say
exactly
what
they
are
thinking.It's
an
important
way
that
people
try

Everyone
enjoys
music.
But
do
you
know
it
could
improve
(改善)
the
lives
of
sick
kids?
A
famous
musician
once
said
music
could
change
the
world.
In
fact
in
Australia,
a
scientist,
Catherine,
has
made
a
music
program.
1
"Music
can
make
you
happy;
music
can
make
you
sad;
music
can
make
you
feel
relaxed
and
take
away
any
stress,"
said
Catherine.
For
thousands
of
years
people
have
believed
that
music
has
a
great
effect
on
both
the
mind
and
the
body,
but
it
is
only
about
70
years
ago
that
scientists
began
to
study
its
medical
benefits(益处

2
Since
then,
music
has
been
used
to
help
patients.
People
even
used
it
to
help
kids
in
schools
get
better
marks
because
it
allows
them
to
relax
and
pay
more
attention.
Now
music
is
being
used
in
a
special
program
called
Music
Therapy
(音乐疗法).
It
helps
people
improve
their
quality
of
life
in
many
different
ways
by
using
music.

Many
cities
offer
public
bikes
for
people
to
ride.1.This
is
a
good
way
to
solve
traffic
problems
in
cities
and
protect
the
environment
at
the
same
time.
New
York
starts
a
new
bike-sharing
program.2.
这个项目为人们提供了很多公共自行车。
But
it
has
a
special
rule:
the
bikes
are
only
for
people
less
than
260
pounds.3.“The
user
of
a
public
bike
shouldn't
be
over
260
pounds,
because
the
weight
is
too
heavy
for
the
bike
to
carry,”
explains
The
New
York
Post,
a
local
newspaper.
The
leaders
of
the
program
think
the
rule
is
very
necessary.They
say
that
many
bike
factories
suggest
they
should
do
so.They
think
it
will
be
safer
if
fat
people
don't
ride
bikes.
However,
many
people
are
against
this
rule.
4.
They
think
everyone
has
the
right(权利)
to
ride
a
public
bike.
5.“许多肥胖的人想通过骑自行车减肥。They
should
be
allowed
to
do
that,”
says
a
20-year-old
student.“But
the
new
rule
doesn't
give
them
the
chance.”
Many
people
say
that
260
pounds
won't
break
a
bike,
and
some
owners
of
bike
shops
agree
with
that.
Others
say
that
the
rule
won't
be
successful,
because
there
are
so
many
fat
people
in
this
city.
