教学目标:
Knowledge objective
To know the new words of U9 and perceive the past tense.
Ability objective
Can use the sentences “It was…. It’s….” and “ They were…. They’re…”to describe the things.
Emotion objective
The students will experience the great joy from learning,
participating in activities, cooperating and competing.
Moral objective
Let them know we should make our things tidy and clean,and we should protect the earth.
教学重点: to grasp the new words and understand the past tense.
教学难点 : to use “was” and “were” exactly.
教学过程:
I. Warm-up
1.Greetings
2. Let’s sing: Hot, hot, so hot!
Ⅱ.Presentation
1.What’s the weather like in summer Is it hot in spring (Present and teach “warm”.)
2.What’s the weather like in winter Is it cold in fall (Present and teach “cool”.)
3.Look and say: What’s the weather like today It is warm.
What was the weather like yesterday It was cool.
(Present and teach “was”.)
4.Compare my hands, present and teach “dirty” and “clean”.
5.Wash my dirty hand, present and teach “wet”; compare with the other hand: “dry”; make my wet hand dry: Is it wet now Was it wet before (Emphasize “ now” and “before”)
6.Present and teach “messy” and “tidy” with the books on the desk.
7.Practice the words, tell them these’re antonyms, and practice in sentences.
8.Change the position of a book and pratice:Where is my book now Where was my book before
8.Change the position of many books and ask:Where are my books now Where were they before (Present and teach “were”)
9.Target:
1) Look and say: It was messy this morning. It is tidy now. They were on the floor this morning. They are on the desk now.
2) Present the sentences in Target, let students try to read.
3) Read after the tape.
4) Pair work: practice the dialogue in pairs.
5)Role play.
6) Answer: What was Gogo’s bedroom like this morning Is it tidy now Where were the books this morning Where are they now
Ⅲ.Consolidation and extension
Present the antonyms, practice in groups.

Look, listen and say
Look at the video twice, listen to me and answer the questions: Ken is not happy.Why Discuss in groups of four students and find out the problems.
