Lesson41:Holidays
Analysis of book: This lesson is the second function of this unit. It is about days and months. Holidays expression is important in our life.
Analysis of the students: Students are farmilar with the holidays, but they have some difficulties in expressing dates.
Teaching aims:
Knowledge aim: Learn about new words:
climb, mountain ,present, national, international, usually, festival, during.
Ability aim: Can express holidays about 揥hat is it? , When is it? , 揥hat do you like to do in/on it?”
Value: Love holidays to do different things.
Importance: Can express holidays and dates.
Difficulty: The expression of festivals.
Teaching method: Task method with media.
Teaching process:
Step1: Leading in with music《Happy New Year》.
T: I like to make friends with you. And do you like to make friends with me?
S: Yes.
T: Thank you, as your new friend, I will give you a beautiful song, let’s enjoy it together.
T:Do you like this song? Do you know which holiday is it about?
S:New Year抯 Day.
T:Very good. Besides New Year抯 Day, we also have many holidays in China, Today let抯 learn them together.
Step2:New Words.
T: Class, first let抯 learn new words together.
1.Show the pictures.
T: Now, boys and girls, please stand up to remember new words, I give you three minutes, If you remember the new words and you can sit down.
2. Check the new words.
Step3: Listening:
T: Listen to the part 1 carefully and circle the festivals. How many festivals are there in this passage? What are they?
S: Six .They are :
New Year抯 Day
The Spring Festival
International Workers Day
Children抯 Day
Teachers Day
National Day
Step4: Reading
T: Read this passage quickly and underline the dates of these festivals. And match the festivals and dates.
S:
T: Now, let抯 play games, I will divide you into six groups, I need a student from each group to look at the sentence, and then tell it one by one. The last student needs to write down the sentence on the blackboard.
S:New Year抯 Day is on January 1.
The Spring Festival is in January or February
International Workers Day is on May 5
Children抯 Day is on June 1
Teachers Day is on September
National Day is on October 1
T:Class ,next look at part2 and answer the question: What do people like to do on/in holidays?
S:They like to go to the zoo, go mountain climbing, go shopping and so on.

S:I like to eat delicious food.
Step5 Read and make a dialogue:

Step6 Homework
Do you know any other festivals around the world? To find 3 festivals and write them down:

教后反思:学生对节日都比较感兴趣,对于自己喜欢的节日可以侃侃而谈,但又少数同学关于读写日期还有一定的困难,在以后的教学中我会加大力度训练。
