探究一 People speak English as their first language in many countries.在许多国家人们把英语作为他们的第一语言。
(1) as介词.作为,像 He works as a driver.他是一名司机
As a student,you must study hard.作为一名学生,你必须刻苦学习。
(2) 同样的 You are as tall as your brother,你和你哥哥一样高。
(3) 因为(常位于句首,表示理所当然的原因)

(4) 按照;当……的时候 You must do it as I say.你一定要按照我说的做。

探究二 Which countries are close to China and which ones are far away?
哪些国家靠近中国,哪些远?
句中的close是什么用法?你知道吗?
(1)近的,接近;关系很近的,亲密的。He is my close frlend.他是我的密友。
(2)接近靠近Come doses。1 want to tell you something.走近些,我要告诉你一些事。
(3) 关;闭。 The shop closes at 5:30商店5点30分关门。
