一、导入环节（2分钟）

探究一 People speak English as their first language in many countries.在许多国家人们把英语作为他们的第一语言。
(1) as介词．作为，像 He works as a driver．他是一名司机
As a student，you must study hard．作为一名学生，你必须刻苦学习。
（2） 同样的 You are as tall as your brother,你和你哥哥一样高。
(3) 因为(常位于句首，表示理所当然的原因)
As it is very hot．you’d better open all the windows．因为天气非常热，你最好把所有的窗子都打开。
(4) 按照；当……的时候 You must do it as I say．你一定要按照我说的做。
As he was a child，he lived in the country．他小时候住在乡下。
探究二 Which countries are close to China and which ones are far away?
哪些国家靠近中国，哪些远?
句中的close是什么用法?你知道吗?
(1)近的，接近；关系很近的，亲密的。He is my close frlend．他是我的密友。
(2)接近靠近Come doses。1 want to tell you something.走近些，我要告诉你一些事。
(3) 关；闭。 The shop closes at 5:30商店5点30分关门。
