a

his
legs
and
left
arm
in
an
accident.
After
the
accident,
only
a
finger
and
thumb
on
his
right
hand
remained.
He
was
a
brilliant,
creative,
and
educated
man.
He
had
gained
a
lot
of
experience
while
traveling
around
the
world,
so
he
became
very
depressed
after
his
accident.
He
was
afraid
that
he
would
spend
the
rest
of
his
life
suffering
and
would
no
longer
be
able
to
spend
his
life
in
a
meaningful
way.
Then,
he
realized
that
he
still
had
partial
function
of
his
right
hand
and
could
still
write
even
though
it
was
very
difficult.
An
idea
occurred
to
him.
“Why
not
write
to
other
people
who
need
encouragement?”
He
wrote
to
the
prison
ministry
about
sending
letters
to
the
prisoners.
The
prison
minister
replied,
“Writing
to
the
prisoners
is
acceptable,
but
your
letters
will
not
be
answered.”
Filled
with
excitement,
the
man
knew
he
could
write
his
letters.
He
began
sending
one?way
messages
of
God's
love,
hope,
strength,
and
encouragement.
He
wrote
twice
a
week,
testing
his
strength
and
ability
to
the
limit.
He
poured
his
heart
and
soul
into
his
words
and
shared
his
experience,
sense
of
humor,
optimism,
and
faith.
It
was
difficult
to
write
those
letters,
especially
without
hope

“Please

Your
letters
are
passed
from

cell
until
they

A
new
study
suggests
that
people
who
drank
a
certain
amount
of
alcohol
had
a
lower
risk
of
cancer
and
death
than
those
who
drank
more
or
none
during
a
nine?year
period.
And
with
each
additional
drink
a
week,
the
risk
of
cancer
and
death
from
any
cause
increased,
the
scientists
reported.
However,
the
study
found
only
an
association
between
alcohol
and
cancer
and
death,
and
did
not
prove
cause
and
effect,
the
researches
said.
“What
sets
the
new
study
apart,”
said
lead
study
author
Andrew
Kunzmann,
“is
that
previous
studies
looked
at
cancer
and
death
separately.
What
our
study
does
is
to
combine
the
two
outcomes
together
and
we
find
that
lighter
drinking
is
associated
with
the
lowest
risk
of
cancer
or
death.”
But
Kunzmann
noted
that
the
participants
(参与者)
were
all
older
adults.
“That
means
that
we're
not
really
showing
what
happens
in
younger
people
if
they
drink,”
he
said.
“Also,
it's
difficult
to
account
for
other
lifestyles
that
could
have
affected
the
results.
These
could
also
influence
health.
But
the
results
did
take
differences
in
diet,
smoking
and
education
among
participants
into
consideration,”
Kunzmann
noted.
The
researchers
said
that
they
hoped
their
study
sparked
conversation
about
reducing
the
suggested
alcohol
intake
in
countries'
guidelines.
“We're
not
telling
people
what
they
can
or
can't
do
or
what
they
can
or
can't
drink,”
Kunzmann
said.
“We're
just
trying
to
give
them
reliable
evidence
so
that
they
can
make
their
own
informed,
healthy
decisions.”
28.What
is
the
finding
of
the
new
study?
A.Non?drinkers
are
least
likely
to
have
cancer.
B.Drinking
helps
lower
the
risk
of
cancer.
C.Lighter
drinking
is
helpful
to
health.
D.Heavy
drinkers
are
at
more
risk.
29.Which
of
the
following
explains
the
underlined
word
“previous”
in
Paragraph
2?
A.Future.
B.Present.
C.New.
D.Former.
30.What
is
the
main
idea
of
Paragraph
3?
A.The
result
is
of
little
value.
B.The
research
has
its
limitations.
C.The
participants
are
all
adults.
D.The
influence
of
diet
is
included.
31.What
do
the
researchers
suggest
people
do
about
drinking?
A.Make
their
own
decisions.
B.Reduce
the
amount
they
drink.
C.Have
additional
drinks
occasionally.
D.Drink
according
to
the
countries'
guidelines.

There
was
a
time
when
a
trip
to
the
supermarket
in
the
United
States
often
ended
with
a
seemingly
simple
question
from
the
cashier,
“Paper
or
plastic?”
Well,
which
type
of
bag
would
you
choose?
While
both
types
of
bags
have
some
influence
on
the
environment,
it
has
long
been
supposed
that
paper
bags
are
better.
They
are
made
from
a
renewable
source,
are
broken
down
easily,
burn
without
giving
off
thick
smoke
and
can
be
recycled.
However,
the
producing
process
behind
paper
bags
uses
more
energy
than
that
of
plastic
ones.
How
can
this
be
true?
Studies
show
that
paper
bag
production
requires
four
times
as
much
energy
as
plastic
bag
production.
And
the
amount
of
water
used
to
make
them
is
twenty
times
larger.
Besides,
the
influence
on
forests
is
very
serious.
It
takes
about
fourteen
million
trees
to
produce
ten
billion
paper
bags,
which
happen
to
be
the
number
of
bags
used
in
the
United
States
yearly.
In
terms
of
recycling,
the
idea
that
paper
bags
are
more
environment?friendly
than
plastic
ones
can
be
quickly
discarded.
Research
shows
it
requires
about
98%
less
energy
to
recycle
plastic
than
it
does
to
recycle
paper.
Even
though
paper
bags
might
be
more
harmful
than
plastic
ones,
plastic
still
seems
to
be
considered
as
the
more
harmful
of
the
two
by
governments.
In
Ireland,
for
example,
a
tax
has
been
introduced
to
discourage
the
use
of
plastic
bags.
People
have
to
pay
22
cents
for
every
plastic
bag,
and
as
a
result,
their
use
has
dropped
quickly.
There's
no
doubt
that
it
makes
more
sense
to
reuse
these
bags.
However,
we
don't
seem
to
be
doing
that
at
present.
That
may
be
because
they
fall
apart
quickly.
If
so,
cloth
bags
are
a
better
choice,
but
still,
their
production
also
has
a
bad
influence
on
the
environment.
So
what
to
do?
How
should
we
answer
the
question
of
“Paper
or
plastic?”
It
seems
that
we
first
need
to
ask
ourselves
one
more
general
question:
“What
can
I
do
to
help
the
environment?”
32.The
question
at
the
end
of
Paragraph
1
is
used
to
________.
A.introduce
the
point
for
discussion
B.tell
readers
how
to
save
money
C.express
the
author's
doubts
D.show
the
kindness
of

33.Compared
with
plastic
bags,
paper
bags
________.
A.take
more
time
to
break
down
B.require
less
energy
to
recycle
C.need
more
water
to
produce
D.have
less
influence
on

34.What
does
the
underlined
word
“discarded”
in
Paragraph

probably
mean?
A.Share.
B.Put
forward.

up.
35.Which

does

probably
hope
the

new

C.A
small
bag
or

What
do
babies,
puppies
and
cartoon
characters
have
in
common?
__36__
Cute
animals
and
babies
attract
our
attention
and
make
us
want
to
take
care
of
them,
which
gives
them
an
evolutionary
advantage,
according
to
Austrian
zoologist
Konrad
Lorenz.
__37__
When
we
look
at
babies,
we
are
attracted
to
certain
facial
features.
These
features
make
us
want
to
take
care
of
them
so
they
can
grow
up
healthily
and
pass
their
genes
on
to
the
next
generation.
Looking
at
baby
animals
and
cartoon
characters
also
causes
these
feelings.
Childlike
characteristics
make
babies
sweet
and
lead
us
to
build
close
ties
with
them.
__38__
There
are
several
features
that
can
cause
this
feeling.
__39__
If
a
baby
animal
or
human
wobbles
(摇摇摆摆)
a
bit
when
walking,
that
can
make
them
seem
even
cuter.
Of
course,
we
don't
raise
baby
animals
the
same
way
we
raise
human
babies,
and
we
don't
raise
cartoon
characters
at
all.
__40__
Cute
cartoon
characters
become
popular
this

some
of
the
things
that
you
find
cute,
and
you're
likely
to
see
that
they
have

a

A.The
science
behind
cuteness
is
still
unclear.
B.The
answer
is
that
they
all
look
cute.
C.This
even
works
when
we
see
things
that
remind
us
of
a
baby.
D.A

E.However,
babies

G.But
their

阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
The
event
that
stands
out
in
Tom's
memory
happened
one
morning
when
Tom
was
only
ten
years
old.
He
was
at
home
with
his
elder
sister
Jane.
Tom
was
doing
his
homework
when
he
heard
raised
voices.
At
first
he
thought
nothing
of
it
since
customers
in
the
motorcycle
shop
directly
below
their
flat
often
became
loud,
but
he
soon
realized
this
time
it
was
different.
“Quick!
Quick!
Remove
the
motorcycles
from
the
shop.”
Someone
shouted.
Then
a
thick
burning
smell
filled
the
air.
When
Tom
opened
the
front
door
of
their
flat
to
investigate,
a
thick
cloud
of
smoke
greeted
him.
The
motorcycle
shop
had
caught
fire
and
people
were
running
and
crying.
Jane,
who
had
been
playing
the
violin
in
her
room,
hurried
to
the
living
room.
They
rushed
out
of
the
door
and
along
the
corridor
(走廊)
through
the
smoke.
They
were
heading
towards
the
stairway
at
the
far
end
of
the
corridor
when
Jane
suddenly
stopped
in
her
track.
She
turned
around
and
headed
back
the
way
they
came.
Tom
had
no
idea
what
she
was
doing,
but
he
followed
her.
Jane
had
suddenly
remembered
the
lady
in
her
70s
who
lived
next
door
to
them,
who
they
called
Makcik.
Jane
began
banging
on
Makcik's
door,
but
got
no
answer.
As
the
smoke
thickened
around
them,
Tom
could
see
many
of
their
neighbors—some
still
in
their
pajamas
(睡衣)—running
for
safety.
The
thought
of
fear
crossed
his
mind.
“She
would
have
run
for
safety
like
everyone
else!”
Tom
cried.
However,
Jane
refused
to
give
up.
“I
know
Makcik's
still
inside.”
She
said
she
was
familiar
with
Makcik's
daily
routine
and
was
certain
she
would
still
be
sleeping.
She
pounded
against
the
door.
“Go
downstairs.
Go
now!
Go!”
注意:
1.续写词数应为150左右;
2.请按如下格式作答。
Tom
noticed
the
flame
was
reachingup.

第二部分
第一节
A
【语篇解读】 本文是一篇应用文,为《中国日报》英文版的四个职位招聘职员。
21.答案与解析:C 细节理解题。根据语篇中Senior
Business
Editor部分中“You
must:”的最后一项have
had
at
least
five
years'
editing
experience、Senior
Copy
Editor中“You
must:”的最后一项have
had
at
least
two
years'
editing
experience和Copy
Editor中“You
must:”的最后一项have
two
years'
editing
experience,可知C项正确。
22.答案与解析:D 细节理解题。根据Graphic
Designer的“You
must:”的应聘条件中的第六条可知A项是必备条件;根据第一条可知B项为必备条件;根据第四条可知C项为必备条件。D项为应聘Senior
Copy
Editor的必备条件,故选D。
23.答案与解析:A 推理判断题。语篇中详细列出了各职位要求,全篇最后一句For
enquiries
or
to
apply,
write
to
chinadaily..给出申请网址,故可推测本文为招聘广告。故选A。
B
【语篇解读】 这是一篇记叙文。文章讲述了一位聪明的男人,
在交通事故中失去双腿和左臂后,
凭借自己的能力和才华,
给监狱里的犯人写充满爱、希望和鼓励的信,让自己的生活充满意义。
24.答案与解析:D 细节理解题。根据文章第三段中的The
prison
minister
replied,
“Writing
to
the
prisoners
is
acceptable,
but
your
letters
will
not
be
answered.”
可知,
监狱长告诉故事主人公,
写信可以,
但是不会收到回信。
25.答案与解析:C 细节理解题。由第二段中的An
idea
occurred
to
him.
“Why
not
write
to
other
people
who
need
encouragement?”
以及第四段中的
He
began
sending
one?way
messages
of
God's
love,
hope,
strength,
and
encouragement.
可知,
故事主人公想出了给需要鼓励的人写信的主意,
并且在与监狱长确认后,
他开始写信。也就是说为了生活得更有意义,
故事主人公开始给需要鼓励的人写信。
26.答案与解析:A 主旨大意题。这是一篇记叙文,
文章中心体现在最后一段:
无论我们身处什么环境,
我们总有自己的长处,
并能找到方法去帮助那些需要鼓励和力量的人。选项A中的“Special
Letters”体现了故事主人公的处境,
“Encouragement”体现了故事主人公内心的力量。
27.答案与解析:B 推理判断题。由第六段中的Your
letters
are
passed
from
cell
to
cell
until
they
literally
fall
to
pieces!
可知,
故事主人公的信被从一个囚室传到另一个囚室,
直到碎成纸屑。可以推出故事主人公的信在犯人之间很受欢迎。
C
【语篇解读】 本文是说明文。一项新研究表明轻微饮酒有益于健康,对于饮酒多少研究人员建议由自己来决定。
28.答案与解析:C 细节理解题。根据第一段第一句可知,轻微饮酒有益于健康。
29.答案与解析:D 词义猜测题。画线单词所在句子的开头“What
sets
the
new
study
apart...”点明该句子要介绍新研究的不同之处,这种不同之处显然是和之前的研究作对比,故previous
studies指以前的研究,所以previous“先前的”。故选D。
30.答案与解析:B 段落大意题。在第三段Kunzmann指出因为之前的参与者都是老年人,所以无法判断年轻人喝酒会怎么样。而且也很难解释影响结果的其他的生活方式。由此体现了该研究具有局限性。
31.答案与解析:A 细节理解题。根据最后一段倒数第一、二句可知,研究人员建议饮酒多少由自己决定。
D
【语篇解读】 本文是一篇说明文,介绍了购物时纸袋的使用,并提出了一个问题:纸袋真的如人们想的那样对环境有益吗?
32.答案与解析:A 考查推理判断。根据第二段第一句话“While
both
types
of
bags
have
some
influence
on
the
environment,
it
has
long
been
supposed
that
paper
bags
are
better”可知,作者提出问题是为了引出下文的讨论“纸袋真的更好吗?”,故选A。
33.答案与解析:C 考查细节理解。根据第三段中的“And
the
amount
of
water
used
to
make
them
is
twenty
times
larger”可知,制作纸袋的用水量更大。故选C。
34.答案与解析:D 考查词义猜测。根据第三段中的“Research
shows
it
requires
about
98%
less
energy
to
recycle
plastic
than
it
does
to
recycle
paper”可知,回收塑料比回收纸要更节约能源,故“the
idea
that
paper
bags
are
more
environment?friendly
than
plastic
ones”可能很快会被放弃,故选D。
35.答案与解析:B 考查推理判断。根据最后一段中的“There's
no
doubt
that
it
makes
more
sense
to
reuse
these
bags”可知,作者建议人们循环使用纸袋,故选B。
第二节
【语篇解读】 本文主要分析了婴儿及带有婴儿特征的物品引起人们喜爱之情的原因。
36.答案与解析:B 在上一句中作者提出了一个问题,因此,本句为作者对该问题的回答。
37.答案与解析:F 根据本段空格后面的内容When
we
look
at
babies...可以推断出答案为F。
38.答案与解析:C 本文将human
babies和具有其特征的其他物品不断的进行对照和联想,如第2段的段内、第3段与第4段的段间。本段的段内结构也采用了这种写法。
39.答案与解析:D 该句是对本段的主题句There
are
several
features
that
can
cause
this
feeling.中features的解释。
40.答案与解析:G 该空前面提到
...don't
raise
baby
animals
the
same
way
...,后面提到...
become
popular
this
way...,因此可以推断,横线上的内容与人们对待baby
animals和cartoon
characters的态度及方式有关系,而G项正好吻合。
第三部分
第一节
【语篇解读】 本文是一篇记叙文,作者通过在新年前的雪夜里父子三人最终平安到家的经历认识到有没有礼物不重要,一家人都平安最重要。
41.答案与解析:B 根据下文的“outside
of
town”可知,这里指作者住(lived)在城外时的一个新年。
42.答案与解析:C 作者的哥哥在另一个城市工作,但他总是回家庆祝(celebrate)新年。

violent
snowstorm
with
powerful
winds”可知,新年的前几天我们经历了(experienced)一场狂风暴雪,故D项正确。
44.答案与解析:D 根据下文情节可知,新年的前一天比我想象的更加难忘(memorable)。popular受欢迎的;enjoyable令人愉快的;important重要的。
45.答案与解析:B 根据本空后的“to
stay
overnight
because
of
the
storm”可知,由于暴风雪,我哥哥被迫在一个陌生人家里过夜。
46.答案与解析:A 根据本空后的“enough
to
let
him
stay

morning”可知,那人是心地善良的(kind)。
47.答案与解析:C 根据本空后的“was
that
he
couldn't
get
his
car
to
start
and
there
was
no
assistance
available”可知,问题(problem)是我哥哥的车发动不起来,而且也没有援助。
48.答案与解析:B 哥哥的车发动不起来,无法回家,于是,我和爸爸出发(set
out)去找他。
49.答案与解析:B 车发动不起来,哥哥只能在那里等着,我和爸爸到了他等着的(waiting)地方。
50.答案与解析:C 哥哥本来是要回家的,临时决定要回到他的住处,自然是要朝相反的(opposite)方向开车。
51.答案与解析:D 根据本空后的“We
placed
a
shovel
about
ten
feet
behind
the
car
to
warn
anyone
else
that
there
was
an
obstruction
ahead.”可知,我们做了一个决定(decision),把一个铲子放在车后约十英尺的地方以警告别人前方有障碍物。
52.答案与解析:A 上文说这是一个暴风雪的天气,车陷入雪堆里,自然是把车留在雪里,故A项正确。
53.答案与解析:C 由于车陷在雪里面,所以只好步行(walked)回家。
54.答案与解析:D 根据本空后的“for
the
next
mile
walk
home”可知,我们沿着这条路走了大约一英里,到了一个邻居家的农舍,我们在那里暖和了一下,准备再走一英里回家,故D项正确。

gift
of
life,
home
with
our
family
safe
and
sound.”可知,我们都得到了礼物——全家人都平安。
第二节
【语篇解读】 本文是一篇记叙文。作者从很小的时候起,就对艺术产生了兴趣,特别是对文森特·梵高的画很着迷。本文介绍了文森特·梵高的艺术经历及部分作品。
56.答案与解析:Considered 考查非谓语动词。这位荷兰后印象派艺术家一直被认为是最伟大的艺术家之一,对20世纪的艺术产生了巨大的影响。consider和句子主语this
Dutch
Post?Impressionist
artist之间是逻辑上的动宾关系,所以此处用过去分词作状语,故填Considered。
57.答案与解析:the 考查冠词。表示“第几世纪”要用定冠词the。
58.答案与解析:successful 考查形容词。他后来试图成为一名牧师,但并没有成功。be动词后面应用形容词作表语,故填successful。
59.答案与解析:it 考查代词。“make
it+形容词+for
sb.+动词不定式”为固定结构,其中it是形式宾语,其后的动词不定式为真正的宾语。
60.答案与解析:that 考查强调句型。直到1880年,文森特才开始了他的艺术家生涯。此处是强调句型,强调时间状语“until
1880”,故填that。
61.答案与解析:were
produced。考查动词的时态和语态。本句的主语是被创作的对象,且此处表示的动作发生在过去,故用一般过去时的被动语态。
62.答案与解析:seriously 考查副词。此处用副词修饰后面的形容词ill。
63.答案与解析:on 考查介词。on
exhibition为固定短语,意为“在展览中”。
64.答案与解析:paintings 考查名词的数。painting在此表示“绘画,油画”,为可数名词,且本空前面有several修饰,故应用其复数形式。
65.答案与解析:setting 考查非谓语动词。此处应用v?ing短语作结果状语,表示自然而然的结果。

A
Israeli
scientists
believe
that
they
have
identified
why
Arabic
is
particularly
hard
to
read
for
new
learners.
A
university
team
says
that
people
use
both
sides
of
their
brains
when
they
begin
reading
a
language,
but
when
learning
Arabic,
this
is
wasting
effort.
The
details
of
Arabic
characters
mean
that
students
should
use
only
the
left
side
of
their
brains,
which
are
better
at
distinguishing
details.
When
someone
learns
to
read
Arabic,
they
have
to
work
out
which
letters
are
which,
and
which
ones
go
with
which
sounds.
It's
the
ability
to
tell
letters
apart
that
seems
to
work
differently
in
Arabic,
because
telling
the
characters
apart
involves
looking
at
very
small
details
like
the
placement
of
dots.
The
professor
who
led
the
research
team
said,
“The
particular
characteristics
of
Arabic
make
it
hard
for
the
right
hemisphere
(大脑半球)
to
be
involved.
When
you
are
starting
something
new,
there
is
a
lot
of
right
hemisphere
involvement.”
The
researchers
looked
at
37
university
students.
All
of
them
were
native
Arabic
speakers
and
also
spoke
and
read
Hebrew
(希伯来语)
and
English.
To
work
out
which
side
of
the
brain
reads
words,
the
researchers
flashed
words
for
less
than
a
fifth
of
a
second
onto
a
screen—either
just
on
the
left
or
right,
or
different
words
on
both
sides.
When
the
eyes
see
something
for
just
a
short
time,
and
it's
at
one
side
of
a
screen,
only
one
brain
hemisphere
is
quick
enough
to
process
the
image.
The
team
measured
how
fast
and
how
correct
the
students
were
when
they
tried
to
tell
words
apart
separately
in
Arabic,
in
Hebrew
and
in
English.
The
students
used
both
left
and
right
hemispheres
to
tell
Hebrew
and
English
words
apart.
Characters
in
English
and
Hebrew
are
easier
to
tell
apart.
When
they
looked
at
the
students'
reading
of
Arabic
words,
it
gave
the
team
a
clue
about
why
children
find
the
language
difficult
to
read.
These
Arabic?speaking
adults
only
used
the
left
hemispheres
to
tell
Arabic
words
apart.
When
the
Arabic
readers
saw
simple
words
with
the
right
hemispheres,
they
couldn't
tell
them
apart
at
all.

At
the

all
of

Ⅱ.七选五
Every
year,
wildfires
destroy
millions
of
hectares
of
forest
land.
__1__
Smokejumpers
help
to
stop
this.
__2__
Smokejumpers
are
a
special
type
of
firefighter.
They
jump
from
planes
or
are
lowered
by
helicopters
into
areas
that
are
difficult
to
reach
by
car
or
on
foot,
such
as
the
middle
of
a
mountain
forest.
They
race
to
put
out
fires
as
fast
as
they
can.
At
a
fire
site,
smokejumpers
first
examine
the
land
and
decide
how
to
fight
the
fire.
Their
main
goal
is
to
stop
a
fire
from
spreading.
Using
basic
equipment
such
as
shovels
and
axes,
smokejumpers
clear
land
of
flammable
material,
like
plants
and
other
dry
material.
__3__
Although
the
majority
of
smokejumpers
are
men,
more
women
are
joining.
__4__
For
example,
smokejumpers
employed
in
the
US
must
be
120
to
200
pounds
so
they
don't
get
blown
away
by
the
strong
winds
or
get
hurt
when
they
land.
Smokejumpers
must
also
be
capable
of
surviving
in
the
wilderness.
In
Russia,
many
smokejumpers
know
how
to
find
food
in
the
forest
and
even
make
simple
furniture
from
trees.
__5__
But
for
these
firefighters,
smokejumping
isn't
just
a
job.
They
love
being
able
to
jump
out
of
planes,
fight
fires,
and
live
in
the
forest.
As
28?year?old
Russian
smokejumper
Alexi
Tishin
says,
“This
is
the
best
job
for
tough
guys.”
A.What
is
a
smokejumper?
B.How
do
smokejumpers
do
it?
C.More
important
are
your
height
and
weight.
D.It
means
the
work
is
dangerous
and
takes
a
long
time.
E.And
homes
are
damaged,
and
thousands
of
people
die.
F.They
carry
water
with
them,
too,
but
only
a
limited
amount.
G.Hot
weather
and
fast?moving
winds
often
make
these
fires
more
dangerous.

A
【语篇解读】 本文是一篇说明文。研究人员发现,学习阿拉伯语时左脑的作用更大,因为左脑更善于辨识细节。
1.答案与解析:B 细节理解题。由第三段内容可知,37名学生参与者的母语都是阿拉伯语,此外,他们也说希伯来语和英语。
2.答案与解析:B 推理判断题。由第四段可知,英语和希伯来语的字母很好区分,与阿拉伯语比起来,这两种语言的各个字母之间差异更加鲜明。
3.答案与解析:A 推理判断题。由第五段可知,讲阿拉伯语的成年人辨识阿拉伯语单词时仅用到了左脑。当阿拉伯语阅读者看到简单的单词并用右脑处理这一信息时,他们根本就分辨不出这些单词。
B
【语篇解读】 本文是一篇记叙文。作者去印度时发现那里的人们缺乏清洁的饮用水,由此得到启发,回国后参加了探索教育3M青年科学家挑战赛,有机会与吉姆·琼扎博士合作,开发了一个利用太阳能的净水系统。作者凭自己的发明在决赛中获奖,荣获“美国顶尖青年科学家”的称号。
4.答案与解析:B 推理判断题。根据第一段最后一句I
was
troubled
to
learn
that
millions
of
people,
most
of
them
children
in
developing
countries,
die
each
year
because
of
water?related
diseases.可知,作者提到自己去印度的经历是为了说明人们缺乏清洁水的问题。故选B项。
5.答案与解析:D 词义猜测题。根据My
invention
is
green
and
cost?effective可知作者有了某项发明,再由画线词后的内容可知作者希望自己的发明用到有水污染的地方,故implementing是“应用”的意思。
6.答案与解析:C 细节理解题。根据第三段You
could
hear
a
pin
drop
as
he
opened
the
paper
with
the
winner's
name可知,宣布获奖名单时,你甚至可以听到大头针落地的声音。由此可知,观众都非常安静地坐着,故选C项。
7.答案与解析:A 推理判断题。根据全文可知,作者主要按时间顺序回顾了自己在探索教育3M青年科学家挑战赛中夺冠的经历。故选A项。
Ⅱ.七选五
【语篇解读】 本文是一篇说明文,介绍了空降消防员这一特殊的职业。
1.答案与解析:E 根据后一句话Smokejumpers
help
to
stop
this.中的“this”指代火造成的损失和伤害可知,E项(同时,家园被毁,成千上万的人死去)与前文森林被烧毁是并列关系,符合语境。故选E项。
2.答案与解析:A 根据这一段解释了什么是smokejumper可知,空格处与Smokejumpers
are
a
special
type
of
firefighter.构成了问答的关系。故选A项。
3.答案与解析:F 根据上文谈到的空降消防员在工作期间需要携带的东西可知,F项(他们也会携带水,只是数量很有限)符合语境。故选F项。
4.答案与解析:C 根据后文For
example...可知后文举例说明了这一职业对于体重的要求,所以C项(更重要的是你的身高和体重)切题。故选C项。
5.答案与解析:D 根据下文的But
for
these
firefighters,
smokejumping
isn't
just
a
job.
They
love
being
able
to
jump
out
of
planes,
fight
fires,
and
live
in
the
forest.可知,但是对于他们来说,这不仅仅是一份工作,他们还很喜欢自己能跳下飞机救森林大火,并且喜欢住在森林里。由But表转折可知,选项中与空后内容形成对比的只有D项(这项工作既危险还费时),故选D项。
Ⅲ.语法填空
【语篇解读】 本文讲述了Christopher用玩具蒸汽机带动缝纫机使轮子转动,想为母亲减轻工作负担的故事。
1.答案与解析:turns 考查动词的时态和主谓一致。分析句子可知本句含有if引导的条件状语从句,主句为一般将来时,从句用一般现在时表将来,从句主语为a
machine,谓语动词用单数形式。
2.答案与解析:so 考查连词。句意:Christopher知道她总是有很多工作,而且她很固执,以至于他几乎做任何事都无法改变她的想法。so...that...如此……以至于……,引导结果状语从句。
3.答案与解析:her 考查代词。此处指Christopher的母亲的想法,change
one's
mind意为“改变某人的想法”。
4.答案与解析:bought 考查非谓语动词。此处为过去分词短语作后置定语。buy与其逻辑主语a
toy
steam
engine构成被动关系,应用过去分词形式。
5.答案与解析:doing 考查非谓语动词。finish后面跟动名词作宾语。
6.答案与解析:by 考查介词。by
hand意为“用手,手工”。
7.答案与解析:have
worked 考查动词的时态。根据下文for
too
many
years可知应用现在完成时。
8.答案与解析:disappointed 考查形容词。句意:Christopher感到非常失望。根据上文felt可知此处应填形容词作表语,应用?ed结尾的形容词。disappointed意为“失望的”。
9.答案与解析:behavior/behaviour 考查名词。根据上文mother's为名词所有格可知此处应填behave的名词形式。
10.答案与解析:which 考查定语从句。此处为非限制性定语从句,且从句中缺少主语,指物,故填which。

Frederic
Francois
Chopin,
a
well?known
composer
and
pianist,
was
born
in
Poland
on
February
22,1810,
to
a
French
father
and
Polish
mother.
Although
Chopin
later
attended
the
Lyceum
where
his
father
taught,
his
early
training
began
at
home
from
his
mother.
By
six,
Chopin
created
original
pieces,
showing
innate
wonderful
musical
ability.
At
sixteen,
he
attended
the
Warsaw
Conservatory
of
Music,
directed
by
composer
Joseph
Eisner,
who
insisted
on
the
traditional
training
associated
with
classical
music
but
allowed
his
students
to
investigate
the
more
original
imaginations
of
the
Romantic
style
as
well.
Later,
Chopin
was
sent
to
Vienna,
the
unquestioned
center
of
music
of
that
day.
He
gave
piano
concerts
and
then
had
his
pieces
published.
While
Chopin
was
in
Austria,
Poland
and
Russia
faced
off
in
the
apparent
beginnings
of
war.
He
returned
to
Warsaw
to
get
his
things
in
preparation
of
a
permanent
move.
While
there,
he
was
given
a
silver
goblet
(高脚酒杯)
filled
with
Polish
soil.
He
kept
it
always,
as
he
was
never
able
to
return
to
his
beloved
Poland.
French
by
heritage,
and
desirous
of
finding
musical
acceptance,
Chopin
ventured
(冒险)
to
Paris.
Interestingly,
other
young
musicians
had
gathered
in
the
city
of
fashion
with
the
very
same
hope.
Chopin
joined
Franz
Liszt,
etc,
all
proponents
(拥护者)
of
the
“new”
Romantic
style.
News
of
the
war
in
Poland
inspired
Chopin
to
write
many
sad
musical
pieces
expressing
his
grief
for
“his”
Poland.
Hit
by
poor
health
as
well
as
his
homesickness,
Chopin
found
comfort
in
summer
visits
to
the
country.
Here,
his
most
complex
yet
harmonic
creations
found
their
way
to
the
brilliant
composer's
hand.
As
the
war
continued
in
Warsaw
and
then
reached
Paris,
Chopin
retired
to
Scotland
and
sank
into
a
deeper
depression.
A
window
in
the
fighting
made
it
possible
for
Chopin
to
return
to
Paris
as
his
health
worsened.
Surrounded
by
those
he
loved,
Chopin
died
at
the
age
of
39.
He
was
buried
in
Paris.
Chopin's
last
request
was
that
the
Polish
soil
in
the
silver
goblet
be
sprinkled
over
his
grave.

John
von
Neumann
was
the
oldest
of
3
children
of
a
banker,
and
his
speed
of
learning
new
ideas
and
solving
problems
stood
out
early.
At
17,
his
father
tried
to
persuade
him
not
to
become
a
mathematician
because
he
might
lead
a
poor
life
being
a
mathematician,
so
von
Neumann
agreed
to
study
chemistry
as
well.
In
1926,
at
23,
he
received
a
degree
in
chemical
engineering
and
a
Ph.D.
in
mathematics.
From
then
on,
mathematics
provided
well
enough
for
him,
and
he
never
had
to
turn
to
chemistry.
In
1930,
von
Neumann
visited
Princeton
University
for
a
year
and
then
became
a
professor
there.
His
first
book
was
published
in
1932.
In
1933,
the
Institute
for
Advanced
Study
was
formed,
and
he
became
one
of
the
6
full?time
people
in
the
School
of
Mathematics
(Einstein
was
one
of
the
others).
World
War

hugely
changed
von
Neumann's
areas
of
interest.
Until
1940
he
had
been
a
great
pure
mathematician.
During
and
after
the
war,
he
became
one
of
the
best
mathematicians
who
put
mathematical
theories
into
practice.
During
the
last
part
of
the
war
he
became
interested
in
computing
machines
and
made
several
fundamental
contributions.
After
the
war,
von
Neumann
continued
his
work
with
computers,
and
was
generally
very
active
in
government
service.
He
received
many
awards,
was
president
of
the
American
Mathematical
Society
and
was
a
member
of
the
Atomic
Energy
Commission.
He
died
of
cancer
in
1957.
Von
Neumann
made
several
great
contributions
and
any
one
of
them
would
have
been
enough
to
earn
him
a
firm
place
in
history.
He
will
be
remembered
as
one
of
the
greatest
minds
of
the
20th
century.
Von
Neumann
really
was
a
legend
in
his
own
time,
and
there
are
a
number
of
stories
about
him.
His
driving
ability
is
a
part
of
his
legend.
He
reported
one
accident
this
way:“I
was
driving
down
the
road.
The
trees
on
the
right
were
passing
me
in
an
orderly
fashion
at
60
miles
per
hour.
Suddenly
one
of
them
stepped
in
my
path.”

8.From
the
last
paragraph,
we
can
infer
John
von
Neumann
was
________.
A.calm
B.brave
C.intelligent
D.humorous
C
Like
many
children,
young
Lotte
Reiniger
was
crazy
about
movies,
which
at
the
time
were
a
completely
new
invention.
She
taught
herself
how
to
cut
paper
silhouettes
(剪影)
of
people,
animals,
and
objects.
“I
could
cut
silhouettes
almost
as
soon
as
I
could
manage
to
hold
a
pair
of
scissors,”
Reiniger
said.
“I
could
paint,
too,
and
read...But
everybody
was
surprised
at
the
scissor
cuts.”
At
first,
Reiniger
wanted
to
be
an
actress,
but
her
skill
at
making
silhouettes
drew
the
attention
of
the
German
film
industry.
Before
1927,
films
were
silent.
To
help
the
audience
understand
the
film,
title
cards
with
printed
text
appeared
during
the
film
between
scenes.
Reiniger
helped
create
title
cards
for
films,
using
her
silhouettes.
In
1918,
she
was
asked
to
provide
stop?motion
animation
(定格动画),
in
which
objects
are
photographed
in
a
series
of
slightly
different
positions
and
then
those
photos
are
replayed
at
high
speed
so
that
the
objects
appear
to
move
on
their
own.
It
was
for
wooden
rats
in
the
movie
The
Pied
Piper
of
Hamelin.
It
was
a
breakthrough
that
led
to
her
own
films,
first
short
films
and
then,
in
1926,
The
Adventures
of
Prince
Achmed,
the
first
full?length
animated
film.
Although
Reiniger
once
described
herself
as
“a
primitive
(原始的)
caveman
artist”,
her
work
is
not
simple.
She
carefully
cut
bits
of
card,
paper,
and
wire,
creating
wonderful
shapes,
and
then
made
them
move
and
dance
by
hands.
The
black
shapes
were
then
placed
on
colorful
backgrounds.
She
made
more
than
60
films,
around
40
of
which
still
survive,
all
cut
by
her
own
hands.
Most
were
based
on
timeless
fairy
tales,
like
Cinderella
and
Sleeping
Beauty.
Reiniger
was
truly
a
pioneer
both
in
animation
and
for
women
in
film?making.
Though
her
last
film
came
out
in
1980,
her
style
is
still
influential
and
can
often
be
seen
in
today's
films.
9.What
do
we
know
about
Reiniger's
cuts?
A.Paper
silhouettes
were
her
favorite.
B.Painting
and
reading
helped
her
cuts.
C.She
had
a
gift
for
cutting
silhouettes.
D.Movies
excited
her
interest
in
silhouettes.
10.What
did
Reiniger
do
to
help
the
audience
understand
the
silent
films?
A.She
replayed
the
film
between
scenes.
B.She
cut
silhouettes
for
title
cards
in
films.
C.She
broke
up
long
films
into
shorter
ones.
D.She
made
photos
of
the
objects
in
the
film.
11.What
does
the
underlined
word
“It”
in
Paragraph
2
refer
to?
A.Creating
title
cards
for
films.
B.Making
wooden
rats
for
a
film.
C.Producing
The
Adventures
of
Prince
Achmed.
D.Bringing
stop?motion
animation
into
a
film.
12.Which
of
the
following
words
can
best
describe
Reiniger?
A.Gifted
and
generous.
B.Creative
and
productive.
C.Honest
and
self?confident.
D.Traditional
and
hard?working.

【语篇解读】 本文是一篇记叙文,介绍了一位90岁的英国女性仍然坚持每周工作40个小时而获得“年度女性奖”的事迹。语篇以积极工作为切入点,宣扬劳动精神,引导考生培养劳动意识。

2.答案与解析:which 考查非限制性定语从句的引导词。分析句子结构可知,逗号后是非限制性定语从句,the
pet
shop是先行词,定语从句中缺少opened的宾语,故用which引导非限制性定语从句。
3.答案与解析:finally 考查副词。副词修饰动词acknowledge。
4.答案与解析:declared 考查时态。分析句子结构可知,主句中缺少谓语动词;结合后面的had可知,此处应使用一般过去时。

call。

Ⅰ.阅读
Jacob
and
Wilhelm
Grimm
were
two
young
men
from
Germany
who
loved
a
good
story.
As
university
students,
they
became
interested
in
folktales—traditional
stories
that
people
memorized
and
told
again
and
again.
They
began
to
collect
traditional
folktales
from
storytellers
all
over
Germany.
Many
were
similar
to
stories
told
in
France,
Italy,
Japan,
and
other
countries.
Between
1812
and
1814,
the
brothers
published
two
books
in
German.
These
included
stories
like
“Hansel
and
Gretel”
and
“Little
Red
Riding
Hood”.
Despite
the
fact
that
Jacob
and
Wilhelm
Grimm
are
often
associated
with
Snow
White
and
Rapunzel,
the
brothers
didn't
actually
write
any
of
those
stories.
In
fact,
the
stories
existed
long
before
the
two
men
were
born
in
Germany
in
the
mid
1780s.
The
fairy
tales,
in
fact,
were
part
of
a
rich
oral
tradition—passed
down
from
generation
to
generation,
often
by
women
seeking
to
pass
the
time
during
household
chores.
In
1812,
Jacob
and
Wilhelm
published
the
stories
as
part
of
a
collection
titled
Nursery
and
Household
Tales,
or
what
is
now
known
as
Grimm's
Fairy
Tales.
The
Grimm
brothers'
tales
were
about
traditional
life
and
beliefs.
For
example,
forests
are
common
in
Germany,
and
this
image
often
appears
in
the
Grimms'
stories.
In
the
past,
many
people
believed
forests
were
dangerous
places.
In
the
Grimms'
stories,
a
forest
is
the
home
of
evil
witches,
talking
animals,
and
other
magical
beings.
Although
most
people
today
think
of
these
stories
as
fairy
tales
for
children,
the
brothers
first
wrote
them
for
adults.
Many
of
their
early
tales
were
dark
and
a
little
scary.
Later,
the
brothers
changed
the
text
of
some
of
the
original
stories.
They
“softened”
many
of
the
tales
and
added
drawings.
This
made
them
more
appropriate
(合适的)
for
children.
Like
the
early
tales,
though,
each
story
still
has
a
moral:_work
hard,
be
good,
and
listen
to
your
parents.
Actually,
university?trained
philologists
(语言学者)
and
librarians,
Jacob
and
Wilhelm
Grimm
published
more
than
fairy
tales.
They
wrote
books
about
mythology,
and
published
scholarly
works
on
linguistics
and
medieval
studies.

the
nineteenth

It
was
a
time
when
women's
education
was
not
considered
important
in
the
United
States.
States
did
require
each

pleasure.
Sometimes
this

some
kind
of
pain.
No
matter
how
healthy
you're,
you
should
always
pay
attention
to
how
your
body
reacts.
If

you
greater

satisfaction.
So
don't

【语篇解读】 本文是一篇记叙文。文章介绍了玛丽·莱昂是19世纪女性教育的领导者,她为争取美国女性与男性获得同样的教育机会作出了卓越的贡献。
1.答案与解析:B 细节理解题。根据第一段中的Most
young
women
were
not
able
to
continue
their
education.
If
they
did,
they
often
were
not
taught
much
except
the
French
language,
how
to
sew
clothing,
and
music.可知,大多数年轻女性无法继续接受教育。即使她们能接受教育,除了法语、如何缝制衣服和音乐之外,她们通常不会学到多少东西。所以19世纪美国女性的教育问题是她们能选择的学习科目很少。故选B项。
2.答案与解析:C 推理判断题。根据第二段中的Mary
Lyon
felt
that
women's
education
was
extremely
important.以及Mary
opened
a
school
for
young
women
in
the
village
of

own
its
own
property,

would
not
depend

2.答案与解析:D 考查上下文逻辑关系。根据下文There,you'll
have
an
opportunity
to
find

the
necessary
sportswear.可推知本句强调的是要去专门的体育用品店,在那里才有机会找到并购买所有必要的体育用品,故D项“最好的准备方法之一就是去专门的商店。”符合上下文语境。
3.答案与解析:F 考查上下文逻辑关系。根据下文Actually,
it
usually
just
takes
you
15
minutes
to
increase
the
range
of
motion
of
our
joints
and
warm
up
every
muscle
of
the
body.可知是在说明慢跑前进行的热身运动,故F项“因此,你应该养成慢跑前热身的习惯。”符合上下文语境。
4.答案与解析:A 本句为本段小标题,根据下文中的No
matter
how
healthy
you're,
you
should
always
pay
attention
to
how
your
body
reacts.可知本段主要讲述的是在慢跑时关注自己身体的反应和信号。故A项“倾听你的身体信号。”符合上下文语境。
5.答案与解析:E 考查上下文逻辑关系。根据下文I
hope
these
tips
will
help
you
prepare
yourself
for
jogging
and
avoid
some
serious
issues.可知本句是在强调遵守上面提到的规则,为慢跑做好准备,避免一些严重的问题。故E项“参加慢跑吧,但记住要遵守以上规则。”符合上下文语境。

Wilma犹豫了一下。shout大声说;hesitate犹豫;interrupt打断;laugh笑。

Each
Tuesday
afternoon,
after
the

are
learning
how
to

But
in
fact,
bridge

a
very
challenging
game
that
helps

math
skills,”
she
said.
Li

Intelligence
makes
for
better
leaders.
It
certainly
makes
sense
that
handling
a
market
shift
or
anything
like
that
requires
intelligence.
But
new
research
on
leadership
suggests
that,
at
a
certain
point,
having
a
higher
IQ
stops
helping
and
starts
hurting.
Decades
ago,
Dean
Simonton,
a
psychologist
from
the
University
of
California,
Davis,
came
up
with
that
brilliant
leaders'
words
may
simply
go
over
people's
heads,
that
their
solutions
could
be
more
complicated
to
carry
out
and
that
followers
might
find
it
harder
to
relate
to
them.
Now
Simonton
and
two
colleagues
have
finally
tested
that
idea,
publishing
their
results
in
Journal
of
Applied
Psychology.
The
researchers
looked
at
379
male
and
female
business
leaders
in
30
countries
across
fields
including
banking,
retail
and
technology.
The
managers
took
IQ
tests
and
each
was
rated
(划分等级)
on
the
leadership
style
and
effectiveness
by
an
average
of
eight
co?workers.
The
IQ
positively
correlated
(相互关联)
with
ratings
of
leader
effectiveness,
strategy
formation,
vision
and
several
other
characteristics—up
to
a
point.
The
ratings
peaked
at
an
IQ
of
around
120,
which
is
higher
than
roughly
80
percent
of
office
workers.
Beyond
that,
the
ratings
decreased.
The
researchers
suggest
the
“ideal”
IQ
could
be
higher
to
140
or
lower
to
100
in
various
fields,
depending
on
whether
technical
or
social
skills
are
more
valued
in
a
given
work
culture.
“It's
an
interesting
and
thoughtful
paper,”
says
Paul
Sackett,
a
management
professor
at
University
of
Minnesota,
who
was
not
involved
in
the
research.“To
me,
the
right
interpretation
(理解)
of
the
work
would
be
that
it
highlights
a
need
to
understand
it
is
what
high?IQ
leaders
do
that
leads
to
lower
understanding
by
followers,”
he
says.
“The
wrong
interpretation
would
be
‘Don't
hire
high?IQ
leaders’.”
The
study's
lead
author,
John
Antonakis,
a
psychologist
at
the
University
of
Lausanne
in
Switzerland,
suggests
leaders
should
use
their
intelligence
to
use
creative
language
that
will
persuade
and
inspire
others—the
way
former
U.S.
President
Barack
Obama
did.
“I
think
the
only
way
a
smart
person
can
signal
their
intelligence
properly
and
still
connect
with
people,”
Antonakis
says,
“is
to
speak
in
charming
ways.”

Claims
for
the

growing
food
in
basements
range
from
feeding
people
in
desert
environments
to
transforming
the
negative
environmental

Plantagon's
early

reflect
this
new
optimism.
Petterson
calls
the
farm's
approach
“agritechture”
:
the
combination
of
agriculture,
technology
and
architecture
hoping
to
revolutionize
how
we
live
and

The_term
may
be

but
the
concept
isn't.
Indoor
farming
is
made
possible
by
agricultural
technologies
such
as
hydroponics
(growing
plants
without
soil)
and
aeroponics
(in
which
plants
are
grown
in
air
over
containers).
Food

Plantagon
plans

in
a

rather
than
soil.
Water

it

Energy
is
also
a
key
issue
for
indoor
urban
farms,
which
have
to
create
artificial
sunlight.
Although
advances
in
the

This

第二节 读后续写(满分25分)
阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
At
noon
that
day,
I
drove
back
to
my
house
after
the
performance.
Just
as
I
entered
the
living
room,
I
heard
a
gentle
sound
coming
from
the
bedroom
upstairs—it
was
the
sound
of
my
favorite
violin.
“Thief!”
I
dashed
to
the
upstairs.
Sure
enough,
as
expected,
a
boy
about
12
years
old
was
petting
my
violin.
The
boy
had
messy
hair
and
a
thin
face
and
his
oversized
coat
seemingly
filled
with
something.
At
first
glance,
I
found
a
new
pair
of
shoes
missing.
It
seemed
that
he
was
surely
a
thief.
Then,
I
saw
his
eyes
full
of
fear
and
despair.
My
anger
was
immediately
replaced
by
a
smile.
I
asked,
“Are
you
Mr.
Ram's
nephew,
Michael?
I'm
his
housekeeper.
Two
days
ago,
I
heard
his
nephew
living
in
the
countryside
will
come.
It
must
be
you.
You're
really
like
him!”
On
hearing
my
words,
the
boy
was
first
astonished,
but
then
quickly
said,
“Has
my
uncle
gone
out?
I
think
I'd
better
first
go
out
for
a
walk
and
visit
him
again
in
a
while.”
I
nodded
and
asked
the
boy,
who
was
preparing
to
lay
down
the
violin,
“Do
you
like
to
play
the
violin
so
much?”
“Yes,
but
I'm
so
poor
that
I
can't
afford
it,”
the
boy
replied.
“Then,
I
give
this
violin
to
you.”
The
boy
looked
at
me
questioningly,
but
he
picked
up
the
violin.
Going
out
to
the
living
room,
he
suddenly
saw
on
the
wall
a
huge
color
photo
of
me
playing
the
violin
in
the
Sydney
Opera
House.
He
involuntarily
trembled
for
a
moment
and
ran
out
without
looking
back.
I
was
sure
that
the
boy
had
understood
what
happened,
because
no
one
would
decorate
(装饰)
the
living
room
with
the
housekeeper's
photo.

1.续写词数应为150左右;

M:
Why
didn't
you
make
a
birthday
cake
for
Peter?
W:
Because
I
didn't
have
enough
butter
and
you
weren't
here
to
buy
any.
I
really
had
my
hands
full.

W:
You

have
known
that
it
may
do
you
harm
if
you
don't
cover
your
head
on
such
a
cold
winter
day.
M:
It
doesn't
matter.
I'm
used
to
it.
Text

M:
Would
you
like
to
come
over
and
study
tonight,
Mary?
W:
Oh,
I'm
sorry,
Tom.
I
forgot
to
tell
you
that
my
parents
are
in
town
and
want
to
take
me
to
the
concert
tonight.
Text

W:
Good
morning,
Hank.
It
is
wonderful
to
be
back
in
England.
M:
I'm
so
glad
to
see
you
again.
It's
over
ten
years
now
since
we
left
university.
Text
5
W:
Good
morning.
Can
I
help
you?
M:
Yes.
I'd
like
a
double
room.
W:
How
many
nights
do
you
plan
to
stay
with
us?
M:
Three.
I
will
be
checking
out
on
Friday
morning.

M:
Can
I
help
you?
W:
Yes.
I
bought
this
MP4
just
yesterday,
but
it
stopped
working
this
morning.
M:
Let
me
have
a
look.
W:
I'd
like
to
change
it
for
another
one.
M:
Well,
have
you
got
your
receipt,
madam?
W:
Yes,
here
it
is.
M:
Just
a
moment,
madam.
I
need
to
talk
to
the
manager.

M:
Come
in.
What
can
I
do
for
you?
W:
Professor
Smith,
are
you
giving
your
advanced
math
course
again
next
term?
M:
Yes.
I'm
planning
on
it.
W:
I
wonder
if
I
could
take
the
course.
I
know
it's
a
senior
course
and
I'm
only
a
junior,
but...
M:
You're
a
bit
young.
I've
allowed
seniors
to
take
the
course
and
they
usually
have
a
hard
time
keeping
up.
W:
I
know,
but
math
is
my
favorite
subject.
Last
term
I
took
Professor
Baker's
course
and
I
didn't
find
it
hard
for
me.
M:
I
see.
Well,
I'll
speak
to
Professor
Baker.
If
he
thinks
you're
ready,
I'll
let
you
take
it.
W:
Thank
you,
Professor
Smith,
that's
really
very
nice
of
you.

M:
Is
there
anywhere
you'd
like
to
go
this
weekend?
W:
Nowhere
in
particular.
Do
you
have
anything
in
mind?
M:
Well,
John
and
I
are
going
up
north.
Would
you
like
to
join
us?
We're
going
to
stay
at
Mary
White's.
W:
Is
there
enough
room
for
everybody?
M:
Sure,
there's
plenty
of
room.
W:
In
that
case,
I'd
love
to.
Thank
you
very
much
for
the
invitation,
Bob.
M:
We'll
start
tomorrow
first
thing.
How's
that?
W:
I
am
starting
to
feel
excited
about
going.
What
should
we
wear?
M:
Bring
warm
clothes.
W:
Anything
else?
M:
Not
really.
Maybe
a
camera
if
you're
interested
in
taking
some
photos.

M:
Here's
the
store
I
was
telling
you
about.
I
think
you
can
solve
your
problem
here.
W:
I
hope
so.
Buying
a
gift
for
my
mother's
birthday
gets
harder
and
harder
every
year.
Getting
something
for
people
who
have
almost
everything
isn't
easy.
M:
Well,
we
can
begin
by
looking
around
the
store.
They
have
all
kinds
of
great
things.
W:
Look
at
this
frying
pan.
I
wonder
what
it's
for.
M:
It's
for
making
eggs,
I
e
over
here.
These
biscuits
look
delicious.
I
wonder
how
they
taste.
There's
a
sign
that
says:
“Help
yourself
to
a
free
biscuit”.
W:
These
are
delicious,
but
they
don't
solve
my
problem.
M:
What
about
these
wine
glasses?
Would
your
mother
like
them?
W:
I
doubt
it.
She
has
dozens
of
wine
glasses
already.
M:
Here's
an
usual
gift

a
beautiful
Chinese
teapot.
And
it's
not
expensive
at
all.
It's
only
$10.45.
Do
you
think
your
mother
would
like
it?
W:
It's
hard
to
make
up
my
mind.
But
I
think
this
is
a
good
choice.
Thanks
for
helping
me.

Some
time
ago,
a
friend
of
mine
who
worked
in
a
part
of
the
city
I
didn't
know
very
well,
invited
me
to
call
on
him.
It
took
me
hours
to
get
there
and
I
took
great
trouble
to
find
a
proper
spot
to
park
my
car.
As
I
was
already
three?quarters
of
an
hour
late,
I
parked
my
car
quickly.
At
noon,
just
as
I
was
leaving
my
friend's
office,
it
suddenly
struck
me
that
I
had
no
idea
where
I
had
parked
my
car.
I
could
hardly
go
up
to
a
policeman
and
tell
him
that
I
had
lost
a
small
green
car
somewhere!
Walking
down
street
after
street,
I
examined
each
car
closely
and
was
very
happy
to
see
a
small
green
car
just
behind
an
old
car.
But
how
disappointed
I
was
to
discover
that
though
the
car
was
exactly
like
my
own,
it
belonged
to
someone
else!
Feeling
quite
tired
now,
I
went
off
for
lunch.
Some
time
later,
I
left
the
restaurant
and
walked
down
the
street.
Turning
the
corner,
I
nearly
jumped
for
joy:
my
car
was
right
in
front
of
me,
and
there
was
no
problem
this
time.
To
tell
the
truth,
driving
in
crowded
cities
is
far
from
being
a
pleasure
and
it
is
much
easier
to
walk
than
to
drive.

the
top
of
your
bucket_list,_the
ever?changing

mind.”虽然冬天去北极旅游可能不是你的首选,但这不断变化的冰旅馆可能会改变你的想法。由该句中的“visiting
the
North
Pole”和“the
ever?changing
ICEHOTEL”,并结合语境可推知,画线词意为“旅游目的地的列表”,故选B。
2.答案与解析:A 细节理解题。根据第一段中的“Lying

km
north
of
the
Arctic
Circle
in
the
Swedish
village
of
Jukkasjarvi,
the
hotel,
which
is
carved
entirely
from
ice,
is
rebuilt
annually.”可知,这家完全由冰建成的旅馆每年都会重建,故选A。
3.答案与解析:C 细节理解题。根据第三段中的“The
suite
is
inspired
by
global
warming
and
the
overfishing
that
affects
our
oceans”可知,这间套房的灵感来自全球变暖和影响海洋的过度捕捞,故选C。
4.答案与解析:D 主旨大意题。根据第一段中的“Lying
200
km
north
of
the
Arctic
Circle
in
the
Swedish
village
of
Jukkasjarvi,
the

【语篇解读】 本文是一篇说明文,介绍了伊利运河的作用及修建过程。
5.答案与解析:C 细节理解题。根据第一段中的“The
Erie
Canal
helped
New
York
develop
into
the
nation's
largest
city.”及全段内容可知,伊利运河对纽约的发展起到了巨大的作用。故选C。
6.答案与解析:B 推理判断题。根据第一段中的“It
crossed
New
York
from
Buffalo
on
Lake
Erie
to
Albany...with
the
Atlantic
Ocean.”可知,运河从伊利湖到哈德逊河,横跨了纽约,把五大湖和大西洋连接了起来,由此可推断哈德逊河流入大西洋。故选B。
7.答案与解析:D 推理判断题。根据最后一段第一句中的“...on
July
4,1817,
broke
ground
for
the
canal
in
Rome,
N.Y.”和第二段中的“Between
1825,
when
the
canal
was
opened...”可知,从运河破土动工到开通一共持续了八年时间。故选D。
Ⅱ.七选五
【语篇解读】 本文是说明文,介绍了新鲜空气对人体的益处。
1.答案与解析:E 过渡句。根据设空处前句“go
out
and
get
some
fresh
air”,空格处马上针对呼吸新鲜空气这件事情进行提问,然后设空处后一句就是针对提问的回答“the
answer
is
a
big
YES”,所以选E。
2.答案与解析:A 主题句。设空处后面一整段都是在阐述呼吸新鲜空气的好处,尤其两次提到oxygen(氧气),且设空处位于段首,所以设空处是整段的主题句,而且话题需要一致,oxygen与A项中的lungs有联系,所以选A。
3.答案与解析:G 细节句。设空处前一句中的关键词healing与G项中的Healing对应,G项中的recovery与设空处后一句中的recovery对应。此外,G项中出现Healing
Gardens,后一句马上出现In
these
places来指代Healing
Gardens,因此答案是G。
4.答案与解析:C 主题句。根据本段的第三句In
these
places
patients
can
go
to
be
near
nature
during
their
recovery.可知,此段讲了接近大自然有助于病人的康复,而下文对有哪些帮助进行了进一步说明,所以在本段的最后再次进行总结,话题依然是与大自然有关,而且是总结性质的句子,所以选C。C项中nature与话题一致,与设空处后一句均是对本段话题的收尾。
5.答案与解析:D 主题句。根据设空处位置可以推测此处为主题句,是对本段话题的开启。设空处后一句中的the
sun's
rays与D项中的sunlight对应。而D项中的Another
side
benefit
of
getting
fresh
air又是对前面段落中阐述呼吸新鲜空气有好处的延伸,因此D项是最佳选项。

hotel是先行词,________
he
could
communicate
with
