听第10段材料,回答第18至20题。
Hello,I’m
Jeff
Anderson
from
Coventry,England.And
in
today’s
program,I’d
like
to
share
with
you
a
special
kind
of
English
culture—the
football.A
lot
of
people
in
England
are
crazy
about
football.During
the
football
season
whenever
there
is
a
big
match,all
the
flags
for
local
football
teams,such
as
Liverpool
and
Newcastle,are
hung
outside
every
window,or
even
spread
proudly
on
T-shirts
or
scarves.There
is
an
atmosphere
of
excitement
in
the
air.Groups
of
young
men
crowd
into
dark,packed
pubs
staring
at
television
screens.Of
course
they
are
covered
head
to
toe
in
the
colours
of
their
team.They
shout
and
scream
in
sadness
when
their
team
loses
a
goal,or
with
joy
when
there
is
a
moment
of
success.You
do
not
have
to
be
a
fan
of
football
to
get
caught
up
in
the
excitement.As
far
as
victories
are
concerned,England
had
its
big
moment
in
1966
in
Wembley
Stadium.The
World
Cup
victory
is
in
the
hearts
and
minds
of
all
football
fans.Now,whenever
England
is
playing
a
big
match,red
and
white
covers
every
inch
of
every
pub,a
symbol
of
hope

the
English
flag.While
football
has
never
been
something
I
am
particularly
interested
in,for
years,I’ve
had
to
pretend
excitement
and
pick
a
team
to
support.You
cannot
say
you
don’t
like
or
do
not
follow
football
in
England,as
often
this
would
lead
to
a
long
dialogue
in
which
someone
would
begin
telling
you
why
you
should
support
their
team.
18.Where
do
young
men
go
to
watch
big
games
according
to
Jeff?
A.Pubs.
B.Stadiums.
C.Friends’
homes.
答案A
19.Why
does
Jeff
have
to
pick
a
team
to
support?
A.To
avoid
being
bothered.
B.To
open
a
conversation.
C.To
earn
respect
from
others.
答案A
20.What
does
Jeff
mainly
talk
about?
A.England’s
moment
of
success.
B.English
flag
as
a
symbol
of
hope.
C.England’s
all-time
favourite
sport.
答案C
第二部分 阅读(共两节,满分50分)
第一节(共15小题;每小题2.5分,满分37.5分)
阅读下列短文,从每题所给的A、B、C、D四个选项中选出最佳选项。
A
Your
first
big-screen
experience
is
likely
to
have
been
Disney
productions—whether
we
are
talking
about
SnowWhiteandtheSevenDwarfs
or
Frozen—that
have
long
been
considered
safe,healthy
choices
for
kids,and
pictures
that
parents
can
feel
they
don’t
need
to
screen
in
advance.
When
you
are
a
big
person,a
movie
seen
in
a
theatre
is
much
larger
than
life;when
you’re
a
little
person,it
can
be
like
a
new
entry
opening
in
the
universe.Those
experiences
matter,and
Disney
knows
the
power—and
the
profit
potential—of
what’s
in
its
values,which
helps
explain
the
studio’s
ongoing
strategy
of
remaking
its
most
popular
animated
films,often
in
live-action
versions.
How
do
you
feel
about
directors’
interpretation
of
these
movies,a
combination
of
live-action
filmmaking
techniques,virtual-reality
methods
and
computer-generated
imaginary,depends
largely
on
how
you
feel
about
the
original.The
stories,even
with
a
gently
updated
script,are
roughly
the
same.If
you’ve
seen
the
original,you
know
how
the
rest
of
them
go.
In
the
following
years,we’ll
also
watch
other
Disney’s
remakes
such
as
Mulan.Any
children
raised
by
Disney
films
would
think
that
this
is
a
great
time
to
be
alive.Right?
But
judging
by
critics’
ratings
of
some
live-action
movies,it
seems
that
the
powerful
studio
has
been
unable
to
wow
audiences.
So
why
more
live
actions?
Themoney
Let’s
face
it:Walt
Disney
Pictures
is
all
about
generating
more
revenue(收入).Even
though
it
did
not
manage
to
capture
critics,it
still
managed
to
catch
the
audience’s
hearts.And
that
is
more
than
enough.After
all,films
are
not
made
to
entertain
critics;it’s
all
about
creating
an
ultimate
cinematic
experience
for
casual
moviegoers.And
as
long
as
they’re
entertained
with
new
interpretations
of
beloved
stories,why
stop
making
live-action
films?
Inclusion
When
you
spend
your
entire
childhood
dancing
and
singing
along
to
these
characters,it’s
beyond
magical
to
see
them
again
when
you’re
an
adult
and
are
the
same
age
as
them.That’s
one
of
the
few
magical
effects
of
movies.Not
to
mention,Aladdin’s
South
Asian
cast
is
also
a
strong
statement
for
the
world.Perhaps
this
is
also
the
reason
why
Disney
wants
Mulan
to
have
an
all
Asian
cast.Let’s
hope
they’re
not
the
only
ones
and
Disney
is
bringing
more
diverse
stories
to
be
told.
Nostalgia(怀旧)
All
of
these
Disney
remakes
are
designed
to
fuel
the
nostalgia
of
boomers,Gen
X-ers
and
millennials,and
many
of
the
moviegoers
who
grew
up
with
these
movies,in
particular,now
have
young
kids
of
their
own.Little
wonder
the
studio
is
seeing
big
dollar
signs
in
them.

Assistant

just
35

and
a
longer

has
also
been
designed,which
includes

Each
SunCube
FemtoSat
has
its
own
communication,data

and
propulsion(推进)systems
and
is
powered
by
solar
panels.It
is
made
of
off-the-shelf
parts
that
are
available
in
shops,and
the
energy-efficient
solar
panels
are
cut
from

of
this
size,any
university
can
do
it,”
says
Thanga.“That’s
part
of
our
major
goal—space
discovery
for
everybody.”
The
team
says
that
while
launching
your
own
satellite
would
usually
cost
between
US
$60,000-70,000
per
kilo,it
would
only
cost
$1,000
to
send
a
SunCube
FemtoSat
to
the
International
Space
Station,and
$3,000
to
send
it
into
low
earth
orbit.Leaving
the
earth’s
gravity
would
cost
an
estimated
$27,000.
The
FemtoSat
would
be
packed
with
a
“jack
in
the
box”
style
system
that
matches
standard
CubeSat
sizes
(around
10
cubic
cm),simplifying
the
process
of
getting
the
tiny
satellite
into
orbit.NASA
has
sent
30
CubeSats
into
space
over
the
last
few
years,with
another
50
awaiting
launch.
Thanga
and
his
staff
view
the
FemtoSat
as
a
starting
point
for
scientists
and
students,and
even
hope
the
device
could
be
bought
on
the
website
like
Amazon
one
day.Thanga
imagines
developing
four
main
applications
for
the
device,including
hands-on
testing
experiences
for
students,and
artificial
gravity
experiments.In
addition,groups
of
SunCube
FemtoSats
could
eventually
be
able
to
do
the
job
of
larger
spacecraft
at
a
vastly
discounted
cost.

The

Returning
to
a
book
you’ve
read
many
times
can
feel
like
drinks
with
an
old
friend.There’s
a
welcome
familiarity—but
also
sometimes
a
slight
suspicion
that
time
has
changed
you
both,and
thus
the
relationship.But
books
don’t
change,people
do.And
that’s
what
makes
the
act
of
rereading
so
rich
and
transformative.
The
beauty
of
rereading
lies
in
the
idea
that
our
bond
with
the
work
is
based
on
our
present
mental
register.It’s
true,the
older
I
get,the
more
I
feel
time
has
wings.But
with
reading,it’s
all
about
the
present.It’s
about
the
now
and
what
one
contributes
to
the
now,because
reading
is
a
give
and
take
between
author
and
reader.Each
has
to
pull
their
own
weight.
There
are
three
books
I
reread
annually.The
first,which
I
take
to
reading
every
spring,is
Ernest
Hemingway’s
AMoveableFeast.Published
in
1964,it’s
his
classic
memoir
of
1920s
Paris.The
language
is
almost
intoxicating(令人陶醉的),an
aging
writer
looking
back
on
an
ambitious
yet
simpler
time.Another
is
Annie
Dillard’s
HolytheFirm,her
poetic
1975
ramble(随笔)
about
everything
and
nothing.The
third
book
is
Julio
Cortzar’s
SaveTwilight:SelectedPoems,because
poetry.And
because
Cortzar.
While
I
tend
to
buy
a
lot
of
books,these
three
were
given
to
me
as
gifts,which
might
add
to
the
meaning
I
attach
to
them.But
I
imagine
that,while
money
is
indeed
wonderful
and
necessary,rereading
an
author’s
work
is
the
highest
currency
a
reader
can
pay
them.The
best
books
are
the
ones
that
open
further
as
time
passes.But
remember,it’s
you
that
has
to
grow
and
read
and
reread
in
order
to
better
understand
your
friends.

C.It’s
a
substitute
for
drinking
with
a
friend.
D.It

the

59.gradually 考查词形转换。此处应用副词修饰其后的“expanded”。
60.how 考查宾语从句。此处表示在中国人们的生活正在变得多么便利。分析句子结构可知,此处引导宾语从句,又根据语境可知,此处表示程度,故用连接副词how“多么”。
61.that 考查定语从句。分析句子结构可知,空处引导定语从句,指代先行词theonlycompany,在从句中作主语,又根据先行词前面有theonly修饰,故用that引导该定语从句。
62.on/upon 考查介词。此处表示专注于研发AI技术和智能宾馆。focuson/upon是固定搭配,意为“集中”,故填on/upon。
63.Travellers 考查名词。此处表示通过SmartLYZ的微信网页,旅客们就能预订房间。根据语境可知,此处应用名词的复数形式。
64.given 考查形容词。根据空前的a和空后的名词passcode可知,此处应用形容词given“特定的”。
65.creating 考查非谓语动词。分析句子结构可知,主语TheAISmartRoom与create为逻辑上的主谓关系,故用create的现在分词形式creating。

答案与解析
【语篇解读】本文是一篇说明文。如果一个人形机器人请求你不要关掉它,你会表示同情吗?文章介绍了被称作Nao的乞讨机器人。
1.intended 考查非谓语动词。分析句子结构可知,此处应用非谓语动词;experiment与intend构成逻辑上的被动关系,用过去分词作后置定语;beintendedto...表示“旨在……”,故填intended。
2.The 考查冠词。根据语境可知,此处特指“上文提到的实验”,且此处位于句首要大写首字母,故填定冠词The。
3.werepublished 考查动词时态和语态。根据主句中的wasconducted可知,此处时态应用一般过去时,表示过去发生的事情;复数名词findings与publish构成被动关系,故填werepublished。
4.which 考查非限制性定语从句。分析句子结构可知,此处引导非限制性定语从句,修饰先行词Therobot,指物,从句中缺主语,故填which。
5.tomeasure 考查非谓语动词。分析句子结构可知,此处应用非谓语动词;beusedtodosth表示“被用来做某事”,动词不定式作目的状语,故填tomeasure。
6.speaking 考查非谓语动词。分析句子结构可知,此处应用非谓语动词;根据ortaking以及either...or...结构连接两个相同的成分可知,应填speaking。
7.suggests 考查动词时态。根据语境可知,此处应用一般现在时陈述客观事实,故填suggests,表示“表明,暗示”。
8.especially 考查副词。此处应该用副词修饰形容词social,故填副词especially。
9.explanation 考查名词。根据不定冠词a以及形容词possible可知,此处应用名词单数形式,故填explanation。
10.as 考查介词。regard...as...为固定词组,表示“把……视作……”,故填介词as。
Ⅵ.概要写作
阅读下面短文,根据其内容写一篇60词左右的内容概要。
YourRobotTeacheroftheFuture
Will
your
job
be
done
by
a
robot
in
the
future?Bank
of
England
economists
predict
that
almost
half
of
all
UK
jobs
are
under
threat
of
automation.Those
most
at
risk
involve
repetitive
manual
labour,such
as
factory
positions.But
could
even
the
respected
profession
of
teaching
soon
have
to
compete
against
powerful
electronic
educators?
At
first
glance,teaching
might
seem
unlikely
to
be
replaced
by
robots.Teachers
use
a
range
of
soft
skills
that
machines
find
hard
to
replicate.They
judge
pupils’
needs
and
tailor
feedback
accordingly.They
adapt
materials
to
make
them
more
attractive
and
effective.And
they
look
out
for
students
who
lag
behind
or
disrupt
the
class.
Nonetheless,some
believe
the
future
of
education
will
be
technological.In
an
interview
with
BusinessInsider
magazine,futurist
Thomas
Frey
predicts
that
“by
2030
the
largest
company
on
the
Internet
is
going
to
be
an
education-based
company
that
we
haven’t
heard
of
yet.”
He
thinks
that
online
robot
teachers
will
make
education
so
efficient.Students
will
be
able
to
get
an
undergraduate
degree
into
six
months
of
learning.A
bot
learns
what
your
“interests”
and
“reference
points”
are,“and
it
figures
out
how
to
teach
you
in
a
faster
and
faster
way
over
time,”
according
to
Frey.
Whether
or
not
such
incredible
speeds
will
be
reached,over
the
last
decade
there
has
been
a
huge
increase
in
online
learning
platforms.Some
companies
produce
courses
that
allow
millions
to
learn
at
home
for
free,at
their
own
pace.But
there
are
limitations.Without
the
face-to-face
stimulation
of
a
classroom
environment,the
majority
of
students
fail
to
complete
online
courses.How
to
sustain
motivation
to
learn
is
one
more
skill
that
online
teachers
will
need
to
master.
Indeed,Frey
admits
there
is
some
way
to
go:“Nobody
has
quite
cracked
the
code
for
the
future
of
education.”
What
do
teachers
themselves
think
about
this?Professor
Donald
Clark
from
Derby
University
in
the
UK
thinks
that
we
should
welcome
change,even
though
people
will
lose
their
jobs.
“Artificial
intelligence
will
destroy
jobs—so
why
not
use
it
for
a
social
good
such
as
learning?”
he
asked.

答案与解析
【语篇解读】本文主要讲述了如何才能当一名记者。如:提高交际技巧;尊重事实;避免出现自己的观点;决定为哪家媒体服务;寻找有趣的故事等。
1.B 上文提到“你是否告诉别人在工作场所或学校发生的事情”,B项“如果这样的话,你在报道这个事件”与上文语意相符。
2.F 本部分的小标题是“Improveyourcommunicationskills.”,F项中提到了“youwillneedtoread,write,speakandlisten”。我们知道,“听、说、读、写”是交际的四种基本形式,所以选F项。
3.G 前面提到“不要做出假设和编造故事”,后面应该提到这样做的后果。G项“说谎、编故事或者错误引用别人的话只能毁坏你的可信度”符合语境。
4.C 通读本段内容可知,本段主要讲述的是媒体选择的问题,故C项符合语境。
5.A 根据第一句“Chancesaregoodthatotherswillfindtheminteresting,too”可知,上文应提到“interesting”,所以选A项。Unit1SCIENCEFICTION

“Now
I
just
don’t

that.”
Surely
all
of
us,at
some
point,have
watched
a
movie
and
thought:It’s
simply
badly
researched,or,the
makers
must
think
we’re
idiots.
The
British
newspaper
TheDailyTelegraph
ran
a
humorous
piece
on
unconvincing
tech
moments
from
some
top
movies.Let’s
see
what
they
are
all
about.
TheDailyTelegraph
writer
Tom
Chivers’
first
example
is
from
the
end-of-the-world
movie
IndependenceDay,in
which
a
character
comes
up
with
a
virus
which
destroys
Windows,the
computer
system
the
alien
spacecraft
uses.“It’s
a
good
thing
they
didn’t
have
Norton
Anti-virus,”
jokes
Chivers.
It’s
just
one
case
of
a
movie
that
takes
a
lot
of
license
with
its
science.Another
one
Chivers
mentions
is
from
StarWars,where
glowing
beams
of
light
traveling
through
space
look
very
impressive.But
the
problem
is
that
in
space
there
are
no
air
particles
for
the
light
to
reflect
off.In
reality,they’d
be
invisible,which
wouldn’t
look
so
cool
on
the
big
screen.
Chivers’
second
piece
of
StarWars
nonsense
is
the
sound
the
fighters
make
in
the
movies:“the
bellow
(咆哮)
of
an
elephant
mixed
with
a
car
driving
on
a
wet
road”.But
sound
needs
a
medium
to
travel
through,like
air.In
space,there
wouldn’t
actually
be
any
sound
at
all.
Few
people
would
deny
that
the
mind-bending
Matrix
films
are
made
for
great
viewing,but
for
Chivers,the
science
in
the
movies
is
a
little
silly.
And
finally,as
Chivers
points
out,DNA
is
not
replaceable.But
this
bit
of
elementary
genetics
passed
the
makers
of
the
2002

When
people
see
machines
that
respond
like
humans,or
computers
that
perform
amazing
functions,they
sometimes
joke
about
a
future
in
which
humanity
will
need
to
accept
robot
overlords(霸主).But
buried
in
the
joke
is
a
seed
of
unease.Science-fiction
writing
and
popular
movies
have
shown
us
about
artificial
intelligence
(AI)
that
escapes
its
creators’
control.
Even
in
the
real
world,not
everyone
is
ready
to
welcome
AI
with
open
arms.In
recent
years,as
computer
scientists
have
pushed
the
boundaries(界限)
of
what
AI
can
accomplish,leading
figures
in
technology
and
science
have
warned
people
about
the
frightening
dangers
that
artificial
intelligence
may
pose
to
human
beings,even
suggesting
that
AI
could
destroy
the
human
race.But
why
are
people
so
frightened
about
the
idea
of
AI?
Elon
Musk
is
one
of
the
voices
that
have
raised
redflags
about
AI.In
July
2017,Musk
told
people
at
a
meeting
of
the
National
Governors
Association,“I
have
exposure
to
the
very
cutting-edge
AI,and
I
think
people
should
be
really
concerned
about
it.I
keep
sounding
the
alarm
bell.But
until
people
see
robots
going
down
the
street
killing
people,they
don’t
know
how
to
react,because
it
seems
so
impossible.”?
Earlier,in
2014,Musk
had
labeled
AI
“our
biggest
existential
threat”,and
in
August
2017,he
declared
that
humanity
faced
a
greater
risk
from
AI
than
the
terrorists.
Physicist
Stephen
Hawking,who
died
on
March
14,2018
also
expressed
concerns
about
AI,telling
the
BBC
in
2014
that
“the
development
of
full
artificial
intelligence
could
spell
the
end
of
the
human
race”.
It’s
also
less
than
reassuring
that
some
programmers

particularly
those
with
MIT
Media
Lab
in
Cambridge,Massachusetts

seem
determined
to
prove
that
AI
can
be
terrifying.

People

in
the
Mars.Turtex
told
me,“Let
us
go
to
the
Earth
to
have
a
cup
of
coffee.”
I
laughed
for
such
a
childish
joke
and
I
also
jokingly
asked
him,“Is
there
no
coffee
shop
in
the
Mars?”
He
replied,“It
has
but
they
can’t
prepare
coffee
as
tasty
as
that
on
the
Earth.”
However,for
a
while
I
thought
it
would
be
better
to
take
a
cup
of
tasty
coffee
from
Ramu’s
Coffee
Shop
located
at
our
village,Kushmandi.
Turtex
told
me
to
enter
a
room
near
his
laboratory.We
entered
there
and
found
that
the
room
was
internally
coated
with
some
materials
like
sponge.Turtex
closed
the
door
of
the
room
with
a
clap.I
saw
some
colourful
buttons
inside
the
room.After
a
few
seconds
I
heard
another
clap
and
noticed
that
the
door
opened.
Turtex
said,“Come
with
me.”
I
asked,“Where?”
He
replied,“Now
we
are
at
Kushmandi.”
I
shouted,“What?”
We
came
out
of
the
room
and
I
astonishingly
viewed
the
sky-scrapers
around
me.Turtex
said
loudly,“What’s
wrong
with
you?Come
with
me.”
Eventually
we
entered
a
coffee
club
designed
like
a
Five
Star
Restaurant.Suddenly
I
noticed
a
display
board
with
an
electronic
text
on,“Welcome
to
Kushmandi.Now
you
are
in
famous
Ramu’s
Coffee
Shop.Enjoy
the
taste
of
the
best
coffee
on
the
Earth.”
Suddenly
many
hazy
and
crazy
questions
came
to
my
mind.
“What
was
the
nearby
room
of
the
lab?How
was
it
possible
to
travel
an
enormous
distance
from
the
Mars
to
the
Earth?Is
it
like
opening
my
favourite
TV
channel
with
a
remote?How
the
poor
coffee
stall
of
our
village
turned
into
a
Five
Star
Coffee
Club?In
which
century
were
we?”
