连词
定义:连词是连接词与词,短语与短语,句子与句子的一类单词,它在句中不能单独用作句子成分。
分类:
(1)并列连词:连接两个互不从属,而是平行、并列对等的单词、短语或句子。
表义角度:
a:表示结合意思:and, both…and, as well as, not only…but also…,
b:表示选择项目:or,either…or, neither…nor,
c:表示转折意思:but, yet, however,, unless
d:表示因果关系:for, so
(2)从属连词:用来连接从句和主句。
功能角度:
a:连接宾语从句:that , whether,if
b:连接状语从句:
时间状语从句:when,while,as,before,after,until,till,sine,
地点状语从句:where,
原因状语从句:because, as,sine
条件状语从句:if,unless
目的状语从句:so that, so ,
结果状语从句:so…that, such…that, so that, so
比较状语从句:than, as
方式状语从句:as,as if, as though
让步状语从句:although, though ,even though,while
用法角度:
并列连词 1)表结合:
and :和,同,与
三个以上成分连接时,and放在最后一个成分之前。
Tom,Mike and I will go to study abroad next mouth.
连接两个名词,代词共同做主语时,视为复数。连接的两个名词共用一个冠词,指的是兼有两种身份的一个人。视为单数。
The owner and chief editor of this Publishing House is a friend of my father”s.
The owner and the chief editor of this Publishing House are friends of my father”s.
连接两个句子。表示“只要……就……”
Just go straight ahead and you will find the post office.
both A and B…:……和……二者都……; 既……也……;A 和B必须是同等成分
Both my mother and my father are teachers.
My little brother both speaks and writes English.
not only A…but also B….;不但…..而且…
He not only studies in a college but also works part-time in a restaurant。
as well as :既…..也…..
this examination is important for me as well as for you.
#(谓语动词要与前面部分保持一致):
the students as well as their teacher are running on the ground。

or :或者 ,还是 ,否则
Would you like tea or coffee?
Get up earlier, or you won’t arrive there on time .
either A…or…B不是…就是…
You may come either today or tomorrow。
neither A nor B:既不…..也不…

3)表转折,对比
but:但是,然而
She came here,but shi didn’t do anything .
yet 然而,但是
He worked hard,yet he failed his English examination。
4)表因果
for:因为
He can’t come today, for he has taken a bad cold。
so : 因而 ,所以
He was sick ,so he was quiet。
学习窍门
A一山不容二虎的情况
so与 because but与although/ though
B 因为 for because as since的不同用法。
位置的角度:as/since放句首 for放句末 二者兼有
because 与 for 放在句末时,because前不加逗号,for加逗号
语气的角度:because 最强,for最弱
表原因内容的角度:
because 表示产生某原因的必然原因,
as 意为“因为,由于”
since 意为“既然”往往表示一些显而易见的原因;
for 对前面分句加以解释或表示推断的原因
it must be rained last night, for the ground is wet.
as she was in bad mood, we left her alone
since we are all here ,let’s begin our meeting.
she didn’t come because she was ill in bed.
C、由either A or B; neither A nor B; not only A but alsoB构成的词组做主语时,谓语动词要与B的人称和数保持一致。
