Carol
is
a
teenage
girl.She
thinks
she’s
a
bit
too
big,but
she
doesn’t
know
how
she
became
that
way.Carol
has
made
up
her
mind
to
follow
other’s
example
and
plan
to
lose
weight
as
well.Sometimes
she
feels
so
unhappy
without
knowing
why.At
these
times,she
often
goes
out
to
restaurants,bars,and
cafeterias
for
food.Although
she
feels
very
full
in
her
stomach,she
can’t
stop
eating
because
of
the
enjoyment
she
gets.
She’s
a
little
worried
about
her
behaviour
and
thinks
that
she
might
have
an
unknown
disease
or
an
unhealthy
mind.With
these
questions,Carol
went
to
see
a
doctor.The
doctor
doesn’t
think
she
has
a
disease,but
suggests
that
she
needs
self-control.Since
Carol
said
she
enjoys
eating
although
she
feels
very
full,the
doctor
thinks
her
feeling
of
unhappiness
could
come
from
something
deeper,such
as
problems
with
family
members
or
friends.The
doctor
said
Carol
needs
to
find
something
that
can
bring
fun
to
her
life.Perhaps
she
should
give
up
the
habit
of
eating
too
much
and
do
something
else
instead,such
as
talking
to
someone
over
the
phone,playing
with
friends,or
drinking
more
tea.
These
methods
could
help
Carol
change
the
habit
of
eating
too
much
and
become
healthy
again.
18.What
do
we
know
about
Carol?
A.She
is
a
good
planner.
B.She
has
a
sweet
tooth.
C.She
is
overweight.
答案C
19.What
does
Carol
normally
do
when
she
feels
unhappy?
A.Do
some
shopping.
B.Eat
a
lot
of
things.
C.Drink
more
tea.
答案B
20.Which
might
be
the
doctor’s
suggestion
to
Carol?
A.Playing
with
friends.
B.Drinking
some
cola.
C.Getting
fun
from
eating.

Question:Lately,I
have
struggled
to
get
out
of

waking
up
at
a

time
to
go
to
my
lab.The
result
is
that
I
fall
asleep
again
and
end
up
going
to
the
lab
in
about
1~1.5
hours
later
than
I
really
want
to.How
do
I
make
myself
actually
get
up
when
I
wake
up?
●AyushSekhari:Sometimes,I

Alarm
app
on
my

setting
the
alarm,you’re
asked
to
choose
how
to
turn
it
off.There
is
an
option
which
says
to
turn
off
by
using
an
image.While
setting,you
can
set
an
image
as
the
off
key.When
the
alarm
rings,it
forces
you
to
capture
a
similar
image
and
turns
off
only
if
it’s
similar
to
the
pre-set
image.I
have
set
my
turn-off
image
as
a
toilet
basin,so
when
I
have
to
turn
off
the
alarm,I
have
to
search
for
my
slippers,walk
to
the
toilet
and
click
the
image
of
the
basin.This
is
annoying,but
wakes
me
up.
●AdityaDeorha:I

my

have
to
solve
a
maths
problem
in
order
to
turn
off
the

now,it’s
at
medium
difficulty.Once
I
set
it
to
the
hard
level,I
really
have
to
work
hard
to
figure
it
out.You
just
can’t

again
after
that.
●ShivamAgrawal:I

clock
launches
a

that
flies
around
the
room
as
the
alarm
sounds,and
it
won’t
stop
ringing
until
the
rotor
is
returned
to
the
alarm
clock
base,compelling
even
the
most
stubborn
sleepers
to
get
out
of
bed
on
time.
●EllenVrana:We
got

is
the
working
person’s
version
of
kids.I
get

at
6:30
a.m.
every

B
At
the
age
of
sixteen,I
joined
a
volunteer
group
with
my
dad.I
went
on
my
first
volunteer
project
in
West
Virginia.On
the
night
we
arrived,we
discovered
that
“our
family”
was
living
in
a
trailer(拖车)
that
was
in
poor
condition.A
crew
had
been
working
on
it
for
two
weeks,but
every
time
they
finished
one
problem,another
surfaced.
We
decided
the
only
reasonable
solution
was
to
build
a
new
house—something
unusual
but
necessary
under
these
circumstances.The
family
was
overjoyed
with
their
new
house
that
was
twenty
by
thirty
feet
with
three
bedrooms,a
bath
and
a
kitchen.
On
Tuesday
of
that
week,while
we
ate
lunch
together,I
asked
the
family’s
three
boys,Josh,Eric
and
Ryan,“What
do
you
want
for
your
new
room?”Expecting
toys
and
other
gadgets
that
children
usually
ask
for,we
were
surprised
when
Josh
responded,“I
just
want
a
bed.”
The
boys
had
never
slept
in
a
bed!They
were
accustomed
to
plastic
mats.That
night
we
had
a
meeting
and
decided
that
beds
would
be
the
perfect
gift.On
Thursday
night,a
few
adults
in
our
group
drove
to
the
nearest
city
and
bought
beds
and
new
bedding.
When
we
saw
the
delivery
truck
coming,we
told
the
family
about
the
surprise.We
could
hardly
contain
ourselves.It
was
like
watching
excited
children
on
Christmas
morning.
That
afternoon,as
we
fitted
the
frames
of
the
beds
together,Eric
ran
into
the
house
to
watch
us.Too
dirty
to
enter
his
room,he
observed
with
wide-eyed
enthusiasm
from
the
doorway.
As
my
father
slipped
a
pillowcase
onto
one
of
the
pillows,Eric
asked,“What
is
that?”
“A
pillow,”he
replied.
“What
do
you
do
with
it?”Eric
continued
to
ask.
“When
you
go
to
sleep,you
put
your
head
on
it,”
I
answered
softly.Tears
came
to
my
eyes
as
I
handed
Eric
the
pillow.
“Oh...that’s
soft,”he
said,hugging
it
tightly.
Now,when
my
sister
or
I
start
to
ask
for
something
that
seems
urgent,my
Dad
gently
asks,“Do
you
have
a
pillow?”
We
know
exactly
what
he
means.

big
challenge.Deaf
fans
believe
that
too
little
is
being
done
to
serve
their
needs.“I
don’t
go
to
live
shows
very
often
as
they’re
not
that
accessible,”
says
deaf
writer
Rebecca
Withey.?
Troi
Lee
has
taken
matters
into
his
own
hands.In
2003,he
founded
Deaf
Rave,a
quarterly(季度的)
event
designed
for
deaf
club
members.The
inspiration
came
from
his
experiences
at
warehouse(仓库)
parties
in
the
early
1990s.“It’s
something
I
can’t
quite
describe,”
he
says,“the
lights
shining
in
the
place
and
the
biggest
sound
systems
I
have
ever
seen
or
felt,shaking
the
entire
warehouse.”
From
that
moment
in
1991,he
set
out
to
convince
the
deaf
community
that
joining
the
club
was
as
much
a
part
of
their
culture
as
the
hearing
people.
Deaf
Rave
celebrates
its
15th
anniversary
this
year,but
Lee
says
there
is
still
much
to
be
done.Deaf
people
are
twice
as
likely
to
suffer
from
depression
as
hearing
people.There
is
still
a
huge
shame
attached
to
being
a
deaf
music
fan.“We
are
one
of
the
most
marginalized
groups(边缘人群)
in
society,owing
to
our
isolation,unemployment
and
the
daily
frustrations
of
communication
barriers.We
organized
Deaf
Rave
because
we
have
the
same
feeling
in
our
community.”

her
wedding
ring
was
inside.
Jim,42,didn’t
like
the
idea
that
a
theft
could
have
occurred
at
his
place.So
he
set
out
to
find
the
wallet.He
spent
hours
checking
the
video
tapes
from
16
different
surveillance
cameras(监控摄像机),watching
the
woman’s
every
step
in
the
bar
until
she
went
to
sit
on
a
bench
outside
and
left
when
her
ride
arrived.Within
minutes,a
young
man
approached
the
bench,quickly
put
something
in
his
pocket,and
walked
off.Jim
posted
a
clip
on
the
bar’s
Facebook
page.“I
just
asked
if
anybody
knew
who
the
guy
was,”
Jim
said.
Within
hours,Jim
got
a
text
from
17-year-old
Peter.Peter
admitted
to
having
taken
the
wallet
and
told
Jim
he’d
done
it
because
he
hadn’t
eaten
in
two
days.He
said
he
saw
the
ring
but
thought
it
was
fake,so
he
took
the
money
and
threw
the
wallet
off
the
public
docks
into
the
ocean.Then
he
bought
a
sandwich.
Jim,unsure
whether
he
believed
Peter,told
the
teen
to
meet
him
at
the
docks.There,they
got
to
talking,and
Peter
revealed
that
he
wasn’t
getting
along
with
his
family
and
had
been
living
in
the
woods
for
a
week.Jim,a
father
of
two,looked
closely
at
Peter

his
small
height,his
ruddy
cheeks

and
saw
him
for
what
he
was:
more
of
a
kid
than
a
criminal.
But
the
risks
were
high.The
police
were
already
on
the
case,and
because
of
the
missing
ring,Peter
could
be
facing
a
serious
crime
charge.“I
had
to
help
him
somehow,”
Jim
says.
The
police
wanted
Jim
to
bring
the
teen
down
to
the
station.Instead,Jim
called
the
police
and
told
them,“He’s
going
to
be
at
the
docks
with
me
tomorrow.”

答案与解析
【语篇解读】这是一篇说明文。文章介绍了我们日常使用的塑料瓶中含有BPA这种有害成分,最安全的方式是使用玻璃制品,并介绍了使用塑料瓶的注意事项。
1.what 考查连接词。分析句子结构可知,此处引导宾语从句,作动词watch的宾语,从句中缺宾语,所以填what。
2.called 考查非谓语动词。分析句子结构可知,此处应用非谓语动词;material与call构成被动关系,用过去分词作后置定语,故填called。
3.havebanned 考查动词时态。根据时间状语Since2011可知,此处应用现在完成时,且主语manycountries为复数,故填havebanned。
4.harmful 考查形容词。此处修饰名词effects,故填形容词harmful。
5.Studies 考查名词。根据设空处后的have可知,此处应用名词的复数形式,且位于句首要大写,故填Studies。
6.best 考查形容词最高级。根据语境以及前面的定冠词The可知,此处应用最高级形式,表示“最好的材料”,故填best。
7.which 考查非限定性定语从句。分析句子结构可知,此句引导非限定性定语从句,修饰先行词glass,从句中缺主语,故填关系代词which。
8.for/as 考查介词。根据句意可知,此处表示“对于”或“作为”,故填for/as。
9.toprotect 考查非谓语动词。分析句子结构可知,从句应用非谓语动词;根据句意可知,此处表示目的,故填toprotect。
10.keeping 考查非谓语动词。avoid后跟动词-ing形式作宾语,avoiddoingsth“避免做某事”,故填keeping。
Ⅵ.概要写作
阅读下面短文,根据其内容写一篇
60词左右的内容概要。
Every
morning,when
my
alarm
goes
off,I
wake
from
my
slumber
and
hit
the
snooze
button.Then
I
crawl
back
under
the
quilt
to
grab
a
few
more
minutes
of
shut-eye.“Tonight
I’ll
go
to
bed
early,”
I
tell
myself.But,evening
comes
and
I

a
second
wind,completely
forgetting
about
my
early
night.Why
am
I
finding
it
so
difficult
to
get
a
good
night’s
sleep?And
is
it
a
problem?
The
amount
we
sleep
has
declined
over
the
years
and
insomnia(失眠)
is
on
the
rise.Modern
technology
is
often
blamed.The
light
from
our
smartphone
affects
levels
of
melatonin—the
sleep-inducing
hormone—keeping
us
wide
awake
into
the
early
hours.
Lack
of
sleep
can
badly
affect
our
health
and
memory.We
need
deep
sleep
to
move
our
memories
from
short-term
storage
into
long-term
storage.If
we
don’t
get
enough
sleep,we
could
lose
these
memories.This
is
especially
disastrous
for
people
studying
for
exams.
So,how
can
we
learn
to
sleep
better?For
Professor
Till
Roenneberg,it’s
important
for
people
to
recognize
they
have
an
internal
body
clock.This
determines
whether
you
are
a
night
owl,an
early
bird
or
somewhere
in
the
middle.We
don’t
have
any
choice.“It’s
like
feet,”
he
said.“Some
people
are
born
with
big
feet
and
some
with
small
feet,but
most
people
are
somewhere
in
the
middle.”
Our
work
schedules
are
out
of
sync
with
our
natural
sleep
patterns.He
says
this
leads
to
“social
jetlag”
where
people
feel
like
they
are
constantly
in
the
wrong
time
zone.
Paul
Kelley

a
sleep
expert
from
the
University
of
Oxford—says
that
most
people
are
getting
up
too
early.He
believes
work
and
school
should
start
a
few
hours
later.Many
companies
are
starting
to
realize
more
sleep
can
mean
a
more
productive
workforce
and
are
changing
work
schedules.While
in
some
countries,office
workers
are
heading
to
relaxation
parlors
at
lunchtime
to
take
power
naps
in
hammocks
or
massage
chairs.This
is
much
healthier
than
catching
forty
winks
while
sitting
on
the
toilet
or
dropping
off
at
their
desks.
So,if
like
me
you
find
yourself
hitting
your
snooze
button
every
morning

don’t
feel
bad.It’s
just
our
body
clocks!

Regularly

a
sauna
(桑拿房)
may
help
keep
the

healthy
and
extend
life,say
Finnish
scientists
in
the
journal
JAMAInternalMedicine.
Researchers
from
the
University
of
Eastern
Finland
(UEF)
studied
2,300
middle-aged
men
for
an
average
of
20
years.They
divided
the
men
into
three
groups
according
to
how
often
they
used
a
sauna
each
week.Over
the
course
of
the
study,49%
of
men
who
went
to
a
sauna
once
a
week
died,compared
with
38%
of
those
who
went
two
to
three
times
a
week
and
just
31%
of
those
who
went
four
to
seven
times
a
week.Frequent
visits
to
a
sauna
were
also
linked
with
lower
death
rates
from
heart
disease.
The
results
don’t
surprise
Dr.Thomas
H.Lee,founding
editor
of
the
HarvardHeartLetter.“The
beneficial
effects
of
a
sauna
have
been
well
documented
in
the
past.It
lowers
blood
pressure,and
there
is
every
reason
to

that
its

your

says
Dr.Lee.
Sauna
use
is
deeply
rooted
in
Finnish
culture.A
nation
of
5.5
million
people,Finland
has
as
many
saunas
as
television
sets—around
3.3
million.Most
of
the
saunas
are
in
people’s
homes,although
they’re
also
in
offices
and
factories.
The
very
nature
of
the
Finnish
sauna
is
designed
to
reduce
stress,the
researchers
say.The
sauna
has
been
a
gathering
place
for
family
and
friends
for
centuries.And
a
basic
sauna
rule,which
discourages
people
from
discussing
controversial
topics
while
bathing,is
taught
to
the
Finns
during
childhood.
The
Finnish
researchers
suggest
that
saunas
may
provide
similar
benefits
to
exercise
because
the
high
temperatures
can
drive
heart
rates
to
levels
often
achieved
by
moderate-intensity
(中等强度的)
physical
activities.
So
can
sitting
in
a
sauna
take
the
place
of
exercising?“I
don’t
know
if
I
would
take
a
sauna
for
exercise,”
Dr.Lee
says.“But
exercising
and
then
taking
a
sauna
seems
like
a
very
healthy
lifestyle.”

A
shirt,tie
and
blazer
may
not
be
my
favorite,but
if
I
were
given
the
choice,I
wouldn’t
throw
away
the
idea
of
school
uniform.Wearing
a
uniform
is
a
badge
of
pride,creates
an
identity
for
a
school
and
is
an
important
part
of
being
a
school
student.
My
school
is
one
of
many
that
seem
to
be
shifting
to
a
more
formal
uniform—this
September
I
will
be
wearing
a
shirt
and
blazer
instead
of
my
old
jumper
and
polo
shirt.A
number
of
students
have
complained
about
the
change,but
some
people
believe
that
a
school
uniform
can
improve
learning
by
reducing
distraction,sharpening
focus
on
schoolwork
and
making
the
classroom
a
more
serious
environment,allowing
students
to
perform
better
academically.Perhaps
most
importantly,a
uniform
means
students
don’t
have
to
worry
about
peer
pressure
when
it
comes
to
their
clothes.When
everyone
is
dressed
the
same,worrying
about
what
you
look
like
isn’t
so
important.There
is
no
competition
about
being
dressed
in
the
latest
trend,which
would
put
a
great
deal
of
financial
pressure
on
students
and
parents.Potential
bullies
have
one
less
target
for
their
insults;it’s
hard
to
make
fun
of
what
someone
is
wearing
when
you’re
dressed
exactly
the
same.
In
America,where
a
majority
of
schools
do
not
have
a
uniform,roughly
160,000
children
miss
school
every
day
due
to
fear
of
attack
or
intimidation
by
other
students.This
might
not
be
directly
linked
to
what
they’re
wearing,but
having
a
uniform
can
be
a
safety
net
for
many
students
who
might
otherwise
suffer
from
bullying.A
strict
uniform
gives
the
impression
that
rules
are
strict
too,perhaps
helping
maintain
a
sense
of
order
at
school.
My
uniform
might
not
be
what
I
would
wear
in
my
own
time,but
it
gives
me
a
sense
of
belonging,takes
away
the
pressure
of
what
to
wear
and
stops
the
bullies.School
uniform
isn’t
fashionable,but
that’s
exactly
why
I
think
it
should
be
here
to
stay.
【语篇解读】本文是一篇议论文。在学校“我”选择穿校服,因为校服是学校的标志,学生统一穿校服能使教室成为严肃的场所,让学生更加专注于学习;此外,穿校服还能减少校园欺凌事件的发生。
1.Why
does
the
writer
mention
American
children
without
uniforms
in
the
passage?

A.To
show
pity
for
American
kids.
B.To
raise
the
government’s
attention.
C.To
prove
the
benefits
of
school
uniform.
D.To
inform
readers
of
American
kids’
uniforms.
答案C
解析推理判断题。根据第三段的内容可知,在美国,大多数学校没有统一的校服,每天大约有16万名儿童因为害怕受到其他学生的攻击或恐吓而缺课。这可能与他们的穿着没有直接的联系,但是对于许多可能遭受欺凌的学生来说,校服是一种保护,而且也帮助学校维持一种秩序感。据此可推知,作者在此提及美国儿童没有穿统一的校服旨在说明校服的好处,故C项正确。
2.What
is
the
writer’s
attitude
towards
school
uniforms?
A.Disapproving.
B.Confused.
C.Suspicious.
D.Favorable.
答案D
解析观点态度题。根据最后一段中的“...itgivesmeasenseofbelonging,takesawaythepressureofwhattowearandstopsthebullies.Schooluniformisn’tfashionable,butthat’sexactlywhyIthinkitshouldbeheretostay.”可知,“我”的校服给了“我”一种归属感,消除了穿什么衣服的压力,阻止了那些欺负“我”的人;虽然校服并不时尚,但这正是“我”认为它应该留在这里的原因。据此可推知,作者对校服持赞同的态度,故D项正确。
3.Which
is
the
advantage
of
wearing
school
uniforms
for
school
kids?
A.It
sharpens
concentration
on
outdoor
tasks.
B.It
removes
the
teachers’
financial
pressure.
C.It
satisfies
students’
dressing
tastes
and
favorites.
D.It
helps
students
maintain
a
sense
of
order
at
school.
答案D
解析细节理解题。根据第三段最后一句“Astrictuniformgivestheimpressionthatrulesarestricttoo,perhapshelpingmaintainasenseoforderatschool.”可知,严肃的校服也会给人留下规章制度严格的印象,有助于维持学校的秩序,故D项正确。
4.What
is
the
best
title
for
the
passage?
A.My
Cool
School
Uniform
B.The
Point
of
School
Uniform
C.The
Idea
of
Dressing
Properly
D.The
Way
of
Guarding
Kids’
Safety
答案B
解析标题归纳题。通读全文可知,在学校里“我”选择穿校服,因为校服是学校的标志,学生统一穿校服能使教室成为严肃的场所,让学生更加专注于学习;此外,穿校服还能减少校园欺凌事件的发生。故B项最适合作本文的标题。

阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。续写的词数应为150左右。
One
snowy
day,the
winds
grew
stronger
and
the
snow
turned
into
a
blinding
snowstorm.A
farmer
sat
down
to
relax
before
the
fire
for
the
evening.Then
he
heard
a
loud
knock,something
hitting
against
the
window.He
looked
outside
but
could
not
see
anything.So
he
went
outside
for
a
better
view.In
the
field
near
his
house
he
saw,of
all
the
strangest
things,a
group
of
swans(天鹅).
They
were
apparently
flying
to
look
for
a
warmer
area
down
south,but
they
had
been
caught
in
the
snowstorm.The
storm
had
become
too
blinding
and
violent
for
the
swans
to
fly
or
see
their
way.They
were
trapped
on
his
farm,with
no
food
or
shelter,unable
to
do
more
than
wave
their
wings
and
fly
in
aimless
circles.He
had
compassion
for
them
and
wanted
to
help
them.
He
thought
to
himself,the
barn(谷仓)
would
be
a
great
place
for
them
to
stay.It
was
warm
and
safe;surely
they
could
spend
the
night
and
wait
out
the
storm.So
he
opened
the
barn
doors
for
them.He
waited,watching
them,hoping
they
would
notice
the
open
barn
and
go
inside.
However,they
did
not
notice
the
barn
or
realize
what
it
could
mean
for
them.He
moved
closer
toward
them
to
get
their
attention,but
they
just
moved
away
from
him
out
of
fear.He
went
into
the
house
and
came
back
with
some
bread,broke
it
up,and
made
a
bread
trail
to
the
barn.They
still
did
not
catch
on.
Starting
to
get
frustrated,he
went
over
and
tried
to
drive
them
toward
the
barn.They
panicked
and
scattered
into
every
direction
except
toward
the
barn.Nothing
he
did
could
get
them
to
go
into
the
barn
where
there
was
warmth,safety,and
shelter.Feeling
totally
frustrated,he
exclaimed,“Why
don’t
they
follow
me?Can’t
they
see
this
is
the
only
place
where
they
can
survive
the
storm?How
can
I
possibly
get
them
into
the
place
to
save
them?”
