语态是英语动词的一种表现形式,用来说明主语和谓语动词之间的关系。
语态有两种:主动语态和被动语态。
如果主语是动作的执行者,或者是说动作是由主语完成的,要用主动语态;如果主语是动作的承受者,或者是说动作不是由主语而是由其他人完成的,则用被动语态。
Ex: Cats eat fish. (主动语态)猫吃鱼。
Fish is eaten by cats. (被动语态)鱼被猫吃。
(一)被动语态的构成
由“助动词be +及物动词的过去分词”构成
助动词be 有人称、数和时态的变化,其变化规则与be 作为连系动词时完全一样。
Ex: My aunt will invite me to her dinner party next week.
→I will be invited by my aunt to her dinner party next week.
翻译:上周我阿姨请我去她的晚餐派对。

(二)八种时态的被动语态 (重点)
被动语态由“助动词be+及物动词的过去分词”构成。人称、数和时态的变化是通过be的变化表现出来的。现以speak为例说明被动语态在各种时态中的构成。
一般现在时:am/is/are+spoken 一般过去时:was/were+spoken
一般将来时:will/shall be+spoken 过去将来时: would/should be+ spoken
现在进行时:am/is/are being+spoken 过去进行时:was/were being+spoken
现在完成时:have/has been+spoken 过去完成时:had been + spoken
Ex: The boy broke the window. →_______________________________
没有人喜欢被嘲笑。______________________________________
这个工程(project)下个月将完工。_______________________________
被动语态的特殊结构形式
含有情态动词的被动语态: “情态动词+ be+ 及物动词的过去分词”
Ex: We can repair this watch in two days. →This watch can be repaired in two days.
They should do it at once. →________________________________________
(四)主动语态变被动语态的方法(难点)
(1) My aunt invited me to her dinner party.
主语 谓语 宾语
→ I was invited (by my aunt ) to her dinner party.

三步骤:
1.把主动语态的宾语变成被动语态的主语。
2.把主动语态的谓语变成被动语态的be + 过去分词,时态要与原句保持一致。
3.把主动语态的主语变为介词by 的宾语,放在被动语态里谓语动词之后,by 短语可以省略。如果原句主语是地点名词,在被动语态中用in + 地点名词作状语
Ex: The school set up a special class to help poor readers.
→ A special class to help poor readers was set up in the school.
People speak English as the first language in England.

(五)主动语态变被动语态应注意的问题(重点)
1.把主动语态变为被动语态时,应保留主动语态原来的时态。
Ex: She often cleans the house. –>The house is often cleaned by her.
2. 含有双宾语的主动句变被动句时,可分别将其中的一个宾语变为主语,另一个不变。
Ex: My uncle gave me a present on my birthday.
I was given a present on my birthday.
如果把直接宾语(指物)改为主语,则在间接宾语(指人)前加适当的介词,如上句还可以说:
A present was given to me yesterday.
I gave him a book yesterday. → He was given a book (by me) yesterday. (双宾语情况)
→ A book was given to him (by me) yesterday.
3) 当“动词+宾语+宾语补足语”结构变为被动语态时,将宾语变为被动结构中的主语,其余不动.
Ex: She told us to follow her instructions. →We were told to follow her instructions.
4)在使役动词have, make, get, let及感官动词see, watch, notice, hear, feel等变为被动结构时,要加to★
Ex: Someone saw a stranger walk into the building =A stranger was seen to walk into the building.
The teacher made me go out of the classroom.--> I was made to go out of the classroom (by the teacher).
5) 短语动词的被动语态
有些相当于及物动词的动词词组,如“动词+介词”,“动词+副词”等,也可以用于被动结构,但要把它们看作一个整体,不能分开。其中的介词或副词也不能省略。
Ex: The meeting is to be put off till Friday
我的妹妹会被我的奶奶照顾My sister will be taken care of by Grandma.
这个故事从没有被听说过 This story has never been heard of before.

Step 3 Grammar 2——被动语态2
一、系动词 taste, smell, feel, sound, prove等可用主动形式表达被动意义。如:
1. These flowers smell sweet. 2. The food tastes delicious.
某些与 can’t ,won’t 等连用的不及物动词,如move, lock, shut, open 等可用主动形式表达被动意义。
The box can’t move. 2. The door can’t shut.
某些可用来表示主语内在品质或性能的不及物动词,如 sell, write, wash, clean, last(耐久), wear(耐穿), 等可用主动形式表达被动意义. 如:
This kind of food sells well.
The floor doesn’t clean easily.
四, 表示“开始、结束、运动”的动词用主动式表被动义。(begin, start,stop,end,finish,shut, move,run,...)

五、在动词 require, need, want 等动词之后,可用动名词的主动形式表示被动意义。

六、形容词 worth 后面要用动名词的主动形式表示被动意义。如:
The novel is worth reading. The thing is worth doing.
七、特殊结构:make sb. heard / understood (使别人能听见/理解自己)等。例如:
Explain it clearly and make yourself understood.
Speak loudly so that you can make yourself heard.
八、除助动词be外,动词get有时也可跟过去分词构成被动语态,是比较口语化的一种被动语态。这种结构中很少用by短语:
I got lost in the market.
You might get killed/hurt if you lie.
His car got damaged in a road accident. ?
九、“have/get+宾语+过去分词”这个句型也表达了一种被动的意思。如:
I’ll have the bike repaired at once.
I had my wallet lost last Sunday when I was shopping.
He got his leg broken when playing football.
十、动词不定式的主动形式表示被动意义:
不定式作定语与被修饰的名词或代词构成动宾关系时,
I have a lot of things to do.
2. 在“系动词+形容词+不定式”结构中,常见句型有:
n. +be + too + adj. + to do… The plane is too high to see.
n. +be + adj. + enough + to do
The math problem is easy enough for me to work out.
3) n. + be + adj. + to do… The question is not easy to answer.
十一、注意:不及物动词及其短语无被动语态
Happen,take place,belong to, cost, take, appear,rise, come, go
E.g The accident was happened last week.
The accident happened last week.
常用的被动结构:
表示\"据说\"或\"相信\" 的词组,基本上由believe, expect, feel , report, say, see, suppose, think, understand等组成:
