Specialists
say
that
it
is
not
easy
to
get
used
to
life
in
a
new
culture.
“Culture
shock"
is
the
term
these
specialists
use
when
talking
about
the
feelings
that
people
have
in
a
new
environment.
There
are
three
stages
of
culture
shock,
say
the
specialists.
In
the
first
stage,
the
newcomers
like
their
new
environment.
Then,
when
the
fresh
experience
dies,
they
begin
to
hate
the
city,
the
country,
the
people,
and
everything
else.
In
the
last
stage,
the
newcomers
begin
to
adjust
to
their
surroundings
and,
as
a
result,
enjoy
their
life
more.
There
are
some
obvious
factors
in
culture
shock.
The
weather
may
be
unpleasant.
The
customs
may
be
different.
The
public
service
systems-the
telephone,
post
office,
or
transportation-may
be
difficult
to
work
out.
The
most
simple
things
seem
to
be
big
problems.
The
language
may
be
difficult.
Who
feels
culture
shock?
Everyone
does
in
this
way
or
that.
But
culture
shock
surprises
most
people.
Very
often
the
people
having
the
worst
culture
shock
are
those
who
never
had
any
difficulties
in
their
home
countries
and
were
successful
in
their
community.
Coming
to
a
new
country,
these
people
find
they
do
not
have
the
same
established
positions.
They
find
themselves
without
a
role,
almost
without
an
identity.
They
have
to
build
a
new
self-image.
Culture
shock
gives
rise
to
a
feeling
of
disorientation(迷惘).
This
feeling
may
be
homesickness.
When
homesick,
people
feel
like
staying
inside
all
the
time.
They
want
to
protect
themselves
from
the
strange
environment,
and
create
and
escape
inside
their
room
for
a
sense
of
security.
This
escape
does
solve
the
problem
of
culture
shock
for
the
short
term,
but
it
does
nothing
to
make
the
person
familiar
with
the
culture.
Getting
to
know
the
new
environment
and
gaining
experience-these
are
the
long
term
solutions
to
the
problem
of
culture
shock.

C.

to
the
culture
of
the
country
quickly
D.
will
never
be
familiar
with
culture
of

5.
According
to
the
passage,

causing
culture
shock

Bears
eat
human
food
when
they
can
get
some.But
in
a
new
study,
the
more
human
food
30
female
black
bears
ate,
the
less
time
those
bears
were
likely
to
spend
hibernating(冬眠).In
turn,bears
that
hibernated
less
were
likely
to
score
worse
in
a
test
for
aging.
The
new
research
grew
out
of
an
earlier
project
to
see
what
wild
black
bears
across
Colorado
were
eating,
says
Jonathan
Pauli,
a
researcher
from
the
University
of
Wisconsin-Madison.
Another
researcher
Rebecca
Kirby
checked
diets
of
hundreds
of
bears
across
the
state
when
she
was
a
Ph.D.student.
She
found
that
hunters
there
were
not
allowed
to
set
out
bear
bait(诱饵)。That
means
the
animals'
way
to
get
human
food
is
mostly
through
finding
human
food
themselves.
When
bears
eat
more
human
food,
their
bodies
pick
up
higher
levels
of
a
form
of
carbon
known
as
carbon-13.It
comes
from
plants
such
as
corn.
The
researcher
found
the
telltale(报警的)
form
of
carbon
in
an
earlier
study.
They
found
bears
in
some
places
ate
a
large
share
of
people's
leftovers(剩饭).Sometimes,these
leftovers
could
make
up
more
than
30
percent
of
a
bear's
diets,Pauli
note.
In
the
new
study,Kirby
looked
at
the
effect
of
diet
on
hibernation.
Bears
usually
sleep
for
four
to
six
months,during
which
female
bears
give
birth.
Kirby
and
her
colleagues
focused
on
30
female
bears
around
Durango,
Colo.
These
bears
were
watched
over
by
the
state's
parks
and
wildlife
department.
The
team
first
tested
bears
for
carbon-13.They
found
the
ones
that
ate
more
human-related
food
tended
to
hibernate
for
shorter
periods.
Studies
on
smaller
animals
show
that
hibernation
may
slow
the
aging
process.
If
true,
shortening
the
seasonal
sleep
may
have
an
ill
effect
on
bears.
To
test
it,
the
researchers
tested
for
relative
changes
in
the
length
of
telomeres(染色体端粒)。In
the
new
study,bears
that
hibernated
for
shorter
periods
tended
to
have
telomeres
that
shortened
more
quickly
than
those
of
other
bears.
This
suggests
the
animals
were
aging
faster,the
team
says.
The
bears
didn't
always
meet
Kirby's
needs
for
several
kinds
of
data,
so
she
can't
say
there
is
a
direct
and
"certain"
connection
between
what
bears
eat
and
aging.
So
far,Kirby
calls
the
evidence
"suggestive".
8.
What
does
the
new
study
show
about
bears?
A.
They
have
much
difficulty
in
getting
food.
B.
Hibernating
is
their
best
way
to
stay
young.
C.
Eating
human
food
might
cause
fast
aging.
D.
They
hibernate
for
shorter
periods
than
before.
9.
What
can
be
learned
from
Paragraphs
3-4?
A.
Hunters
usually
use
human
food
as
bear
bait.
B.
Carbon-13
levels
will
fall
if
bears
eat
human
food.
C.
Bears
seem
to
be
able
to
find
human
food
on
their
own.
D.
Many
bears
only
eat
people's
leftovers
as
their
diets.
10.
What
might
cause
a
bear's
telomeres
to
shorten
more
quickly?
A.
Hibernating
for
enough
time.
B.
Being
weak
with
hunger.
C.
Eating
much
human
food.
D.
Slowing
the
aging
process.

Like
a
lot
of
people,
I've
always
wanted
to
be
self-employed,
but
I
was
afraid
to
make
the
leap.
Everything
I
had
read
about
starting
a
small
business
suggested
I
should
have
a
whole
lot
of
money
in
the
bank
before
I
even
considered
striking
out
on
my
own.
Three
kids,
my
own
college
loans,
and
several
medical
mishaps(灾祸)over
the
years
had
certainly
not
allowed
for
that.
I'd
had
jobs
I
liked,
but
somehow
I'd
never
been
satisfied.
Teaching
school
had
been
satisfying
for
about
ten
years,but
then
the
brightness
had
faded.
Jobs
as
a
college
instructor
and
corporate
training
designer
had
begun
to
become
boring,
too.
One
boring
day
at
the
office,
I
made
a
list
of
all
the
skills
I'd
got
over
the
years
in
my
jobs
and
as
a
freelancer(自由职业人)。The
list
was
long.
But
I
considered
my
dreams
of
self-employment
an
unlikely
project,
and
the
list
went
back
in
my
drawer,
only
to
appear
the
next
time
I
met
with
difficulties
in
my
job.
As
I
continued
to
work
at
various
tasks
and
learn
new
things
on
the
job,
my
list
grew.
Finally,the
little
list
stopped
growing
and
developed
instead
into
a
business
plan.
One
autumn
evening,I
showed
the
plan
to
my
husband
while
we
were
out
having
dinner.
“It
looks
practical,”
he
said."Maybe
someday.”
I
swallowed
my
disappointment.What
did
I
think
he
would
say?"Sure,hon,go
ahead.We
have
no
money
saved,
but
just
quit
your
job
and
give
this
a
try.
The
worst
thing
that
can
happen
is
we'll
lose
the
house.”
The
next
day
I
went
back
to
work,
and
the
list
went
back
in
my
drawer.
And
then
it
happened:I
got
greedy.
I
had
a
perfectly
good
job
at
a
perfectly
good
company.
A
good
salary.
A
great
boss.
But
another
perfectly
good
company
offered
me
more
money,
more
vacation
time,more
everything.
I
took
on
a
role
for
which
I
was
not
fully
prepared.
For
more
than
thirty
years,I
had
been
the
quick
learner,the
independent
worker,
the
self-starter.And
here
I
was,
in
my
early
fifties
at
a
new
job,not
able
to
catch
on
or
fit
in.
Now
what?
Looking
back,I
realize
it
wasn't
that
I
couldn't
still
learn
just
as
fast
as
I
ever
had;
it
was
that
I
had
entered
a
business
environment
where
lifelong
employees
had
developed
a
climate
so
particular
to
their
company
and
industry
that
newcomers
felt
more
like
outsiders
than
part
of
the
team.
If
I
had
done
my
homework,
I
would
have
known
this
was
a
poor
move.
Still,I
now
had
to
make
a
decision.
Stay
put
and
pretend
that
I“got
it"?
Financial
common
sense
would
suggest
that
I
do
just
that,no
matter
how
much
pain
it
gave
me.
But
I've
never
had
a
lot
of
common
sense
when
it
comes
to
following
my
heart
or
my
head.
My
heart
always
wins.
And
this
time
my
heart
won
in
more
ways
than
one:
when
I
again
brought
out
my
little
business
plan
during
dinner,
I
was
reminded
just
how
much
my
husband
of
over
thirty
years
loves
me."I
believe
in
you,"
he
said.
More
powerful
words
were
never
spoken.
I
began
my
small
business,
which
provides
editorial
and
design
services,a
few
weeks
later.
It
hasn't
been
easy.
I
found
out
quickly
that
self-employment
is
not
equal
to
“flexible
lifestyle".I
work
many
more
hours
now
than
I
did
when
in
the
employ
of
others.And
money
changes
often.
Some
days
are
good,and
some
days
I
still
search
the
want
ads
and
question
the
wisdom
of
my
decision.
No
guarantees(担保)exist
that
my
business
will
continue
to
grow.
But
no
guarantees
exist
either
that
another
employer
wouldn't
fire
me
or
that
I
wouldn't
find
myself
in
a
bad
job
situation
again.
I
made
the
choice
to
believe
in
myself.
And
that's
a
risk
worth
taking.

answer!
___16___
There
are
so
many
styles
and
types
of
books.
This
is
because
people
have
different
likes.
For
fun,
go
and
read
the
1-star
Amazon
reviews
of
your
favorite
popular
book.
Many
people
hate
it
and
can't
finish
it!
___17___Maybe,
it
depends
on
your
preferences.
Art
is
highly
subjective.
There
are
certainly
many
good
books
on
writing
and
story
structure,
but
they're
more
general
guides
than
step-by-step
guides.
Since
books
have
no
hidden
parts
(all
the
words
are
there
on
the
page),
it's
necessary
to
study
the
books
you
and
others
think
are
good
reads
and
ask,”___18___

Most
serious
writers
have
early
readers
who
read
drafts
and
provide
their
opinions___19___They
learn
which
parts
aren't
as
good
as
they
think.
And
then
they
rewrite
the
drafts.
A
good
read
is
usually
the
result
of
many
improvements
of
a
bad
one.
One
difficulty
in
writing
is
that
it
is
hard
to
find
people
who
can
give
useful
opinions
beyond
“I
like
it”
or
“I
hate
it.”
.
___20___.
And
you
have
to
try
to
be
willing
to
listen
to
things
that
you
don't
want
to
hear.
At
the
same
time
be
glad
to
make
changes
to
a
draft
based
on
what
you
learned.
A.
Why
do
people
like
reading
books?
B.
Does
this
mean
the
book
is
actually
terrible?
C.
Why
does
this
work
the
way
that
it
does?
D.
You
have
to
try
to
find
good
advice
givers.
E.
They
don't
know
how
to
produce
good
books.
F.
These
writers
are
learning
from
actual
readers.
G.
What

may
not
work
for
another.

阅读下面短文,然后按要求写一篇150词左右的英语短文。
“He

shows
Chinese
people’s
traditional
belief
in
the
vital
role
that
hardship
plays
in
a
person’s
life
as
they
grow
up.
But
today,
as
our
lives
have

do
we

“We

said
Wang

girl
in
Jiangxi.
“Many
children

everything

as
they’ve

Youth
Daily,
81.8
percent
of
the
interviewees
supported

Qiao

also
supports
the
idea.

said
the

But
while
it

Sun

deputy

told

Specialists
say
that
it
is
not
easy
to
get
used
to
life
in
a
new
culture.
“Culture
shock"
is
the
term
these
specialists
use
when
talking
about
the
feelings
that
people
have
in
a
new
environment.
There
are
three
stages
of
culture
shock,
say
the
specialists.
In
the
first
stage,
the
newcomers
like
their
new
environment.
Then,
when
the
fresh
experience
dies,
they
begin
to
hate
the
city,
the
country,
the
people,
and
everything
else.
In
the
last
stage,
the
newcomers
begin
to
adjust
to
their
surroundings
and,
as
a
result,
enjoy
their
life
more.
There
are
some
obvious
factors
in
culture
shock.
The
weather
may
be
unpleasant.
The
customs
may
be
different.
The
public
service
systems-the

post
office,
or

be

The

Who
feels
culture
shock?
Everyone
does
in
this
way
or
that.
But
culture
shock
surprises
most
people.
Very
often
the
people
having
the
worst
culture
shock
are
those
who
never
had
any
difficulties
in
their
home
countries
and
were
successful
in
their
community.
Coming
to
a
new
country,
these
people
find
they
do
not
have
the
same
established
positions.
They
find
themselves
without
a
role,
almost
without
an
identity.
They
have
to
build
a
new
self-image.
Culture
shock
gives
rise
to
a
feeling
of
disorientation(迷惘).
This
feeling
may
be
homesickness.
When
homesick,
people
feel
like
staying
inside
all
the
time.
They
want
to
protect
themselves
from
the
strange
environment,
and
create
and
escape
inside
their
room
for
a
sense
of
security.
This
escape
does
solve
the
problem
of
culture
shock
for
the
short
term,
but
it
does
nothing
to
make
the
person
familiar
with
the
culture.
Getting
to
know
the
new
environment
and
gaining
experience-these
are
the
long
term
solutions
to
the
problem
of
culture
shock.

【4题详解】
细节理解题。根据第一段中“Specialists
say
that
it
is
not
easy
to
get
used
to
life
in
a
new

【5题详解】
细节理解题。根据第二段中“The
weather
may
be

The
customs
may
be
different.
The
public
service
systems-the

be
big
problems.
The
language
may
be
difficult.(天气可能不太好。习俗可能不同。公共服务系统——电话、邮局或交通——可能很难解决。最简单的事情似乎都是大问题。语言可能很难)”可知,语言交流,天气条件和习俗,公共服务设施都会引起文化冲击,除了D选项“思乡”。故选D。
【6题详解】
细节理解题。根据第三段中“Very

C
Bears
eat
human
food
when
they
can
get
some.But
in
a
new
study,
the
more
human
food
30
female
black
bears
ate,
the
less
time
those
bears
were
likely
to
spend
hibernating(冬眠).In
turn,bears
that
hibernated
less
were
likely
to
score
worse
in
a
test
for
aging.
The
new
research
grew
out
of
an
earlier
project
to
see
what
wild
black
bears
across
Colorado
were
eating,
says
Jonathan
Pauli,
a
researcher
from
the
University
of
Wisconsin-Madison.
Another
researcher
Rebecca
Kirby
checked
diets
of
hundreds
of
bears
across
the
state
when
she
was
a
Ph.D.student.
She
found
that
hunters
there
were
not
allowed
to
set
out
bear
bait(诱饵)。That
means
the
animals'
way
to
get
human
food
is
mostly
through
finding
human
food
themselves.
When
bears
eat
more
human
food,
their
bodies
pick
up
higher
levels
of
a
form
of
carbon
known
as
carbon-13.It
comes
from
plants
such
as
corn.
The
researcher
found
the
telltale(报警的)
form
of
carbon
in
an
earlier
study.
They
found
bears
in
some
places
ate
a
large
share
of
people's
leftovers(剩饭).Sometimes,these
leftovers
could
make
up
more
than
30
percent
of
a
bear's
diets,Pauli
note.
In
the
new
study,Kirby
looked
at
the
effect
of
diet
on
hibernation.
Bears
usually
sleep
for
four
to
six
months,during
which
female
bears
give
birth.
Kirby
and
her
colleagues
focused
on
30
female
bears
around
Durango,
Colo.
These
bears
were
watched
over
by
the
state's
parks
and
wildlife
department.
The
team
first
tested
bears
for
carbon-13.They
found
the
ones
that
ate
more
human-related
food
tended
to
hibernate
for
shorter
periods.
Studies
on
smaller
animals
show
that
hibernation
may
slow
the
aging
process.
If
true,
shortening
the
seasonal
sleep
may
have
an
ill
effect
on
bears.
To
test
it,
the
researchers
tested
for
relative
changes
in
the
length
of
telomeres(染色体端粒)。In
the
new
study,bears
that
hibernated
for
shorter
periods
tended
to
have
telomeres
that
shortened
more
quickly
than
those
of
other
bears.
This
suggests
the
animals
were
aging
faster,the
team
says.
The
bears
didn't
always
meet
Kirby's
needs
for
several
kinds
of
data,
so
she
can't
say
there
is
a
direct
and
"certain"
connection
between
what
bears
eat
and
aging.
So
far,Kirby
calls
the
evidence
"suggestive".
8.
What
does
the
new
study
show
about
bears?
A.
They
have
much
difficulty
in
getting
food.
B.
Hibernating
is
their
best
way
to
stay
young.
C.
Eating
human
food
might
cause
fast
aging.
D.
They
hibernate
for
shorter
periods
than
before.
9.
What
can
be
learned
from
Paragraphs
3-4?
A.
Hunters
usually
use
human
food
as
bear
bait.
B.
Carbon-13
levels
will
fall
if
bears
eat
human
food.
C.
Bears
seem
to
be
able
to
find
human
food
on
their
own.
D.
Many
bears
only
eat
people's
leftovers
as
their
diets.
10.
What
might
cause
a
bear's
telomeres
to
shorten
more
quickly?
A.
Hibernating
for
enough
time.
B.
Being
weak
with
hunger.
C.
Eating
much
human
food.
D.
Slowing
the
aging
process.

【分析】这是一篇说明文。讲述了吃人类食物对熊的冬眠时间和染色体长短的影响。
【详解】1.细节理解题。根据倒数第三段“
They
found
the
ones
that
ate
more
human-related
food
tended
to
hibernate
for
shorter
periods.”他们发现,那些吃了更多与人类有关的食物的人往往冬眠时间较短以及倒数第二段“This
suggests
the
animals
were
aging
faster”可知,这表明这些动物衰老得更快。由此可知吃人类的食物会加速衰老,故选C。
2.细节理解题。根据第三段“That
means
the
animals'
way
to
get
human
food
is
mostly
through
finding
human
food
themselves.”可知,这意味着动物获取人类食物的方式主要是通过自己寻找人类食物。故选C。
3.推理判断题。根据最后一段“bears
that
hibernated
for
shorter
periods
tended
to
have
telomeres
that
shortened
more
quickly
than
those
of
other
bears.
”可知,冬眠时间更短的熊往往染色体更短,根据倒数第三段“They
found
the
ones
that
ate
more
human-related
food
tended
to
hibernate
for
shorter
periods.”可知,吃更多人类食物的熊冬眠时间更短,由此判断出吃很多人类食物的熊的染色体缩短得更快,故选C。
D
Like
a
lot
of
people,
I've
always
wanted
to
be
self-employed,
but
I
was
afraid
to
make
the
leap.
Everything
I
had
read
about
starting
a
small
business
suggested
I
should
have
a
whole
lot
of
money
in
the
bank
before
I
even
considered
striking
out
on
my
own.
Three
kids,
my
own
college
loans,
and
several
medical
mishaps(灾祸)over
the
years
had
certainly
not
allowed
for
that.
I'd
had
jobs
I
liked,
but
somehow
I'd
never
been
satisfied.
Teaching
school
had
been
satisfying
for
about
ten
years,but
then
the
brightness
had
faded.
Jobs
as
a
college
instructor
and
corporate
training
designer
had
begun
to
become
boring,
too.
One
boring
day
at
the
office,
I
made
a
list
of
all
the
skills
I'd
got
over
the
years
in
my
jobs
and
as
a
freelancer(自由职业人)。The
list
was
long.
But
I
considered
my
dreams
of
self-employment
an
unlikely
project,
and
the
list
went
back
in
my
drawer,
only
to
appear
the
next
time
I
met
with
difficulties
in
my
job.
As
I
continued
to
work
at
various
tasks
and
learn
new
things
on
the
job,
my
list
grew.
Finally,the
little
list
stopped
growing
and
developed
instead
into
a
business
plan.
One
autumn
evening,I
showed
the
plan
to
my
husband
while
we
were
out
having
dinner.
“It
looks
practical,”
he
said."Maybe
someday.”
I
swallowed
my
disappointment.What
did
I
think
he
would
say?"Sure,hon,go
ahead.We
have
no
money
saved,
but
just
quit
your
job
and
give
this
a
try.
The
worst
thing
that
can
happen
is
we'll
lose
the
house.”
The
next
day
I
went
back
to
work,
and
the
list
went
back
in
my
drawer.
And
then
it
happened:I
got
greedy.
I
had
a
perfectly
good
job
at
a
perfectly
good
company.
A
good
salary.
A
great
boss.
But
another
perfectly
good
company
offered
me
more
money,
more
vacation
time,more
everything.
I
took
on
a
role
for
which
I
was
not
fully
prepared.
For
more
than
thirty
years,I
had
been
the
quick
learner,the
independent
worker,
the
self-starter.And
here
I
was,
in
my
early
fifties
at
a
new
job,not
able
to
catch
on
or
fit
in.
Now
what?
Looking
back,I
realize
it
wasn't
that
I
couldn't
still
learn
just
as
fast
as
I
ever
had;
it
was
that
I
had
entered
a
business
environment
where
lifelong
employees
had
developed
a
climate
so
particular
to
their
company
and
industry
that
newcomers
felt
more
like
outsiders
than
part
of
the
team.
If
I
had
done
my
homework,
I
would
have
known
this
was
a
poor
move.
Still,I
now
had
to
make
a
decision.
Stay
put
and
pretend
that
I“got
it"?
Financial
common
sense
would
suggest
that
I
do
just
that,no
matter
how
much
pain
it
gave
me.
But
I've
never
had
a
lot
of
common
sense
when
it
comes
to
following
my
heart
or
my
head.
My
heart
always
wins.
And
this
time
my
heart
won
in
more
ways
than
one:
when
I
again
brought
out
my
little
business
plan
during
dinner,
I
was
reminded
just
how
much
my
husband
of
over
thirty
years
loves
me."I
believe
in
you,"
he
said.
More
powerful
words
were
never
spoken.
I
began
my
small
business,
which
provides
editorial
and
design
services,a
few
weeks
later.
It
hasn't
been
easy.
I
found
out
quickly
that
self-employment
is
not
equal
to
“flexible
lifestyle".I
work
many
more
hours
now
than
I
did
when
in
the
employ
of
others.And
money
changes
often.
Some
days
are
good,and
some
days
I
still
search
the
want
ads
and
question
the
wisdom
of
my
decision.
No
guarantees(担保)exist
that
my
business
will
continue
to
grow.
But
no
guarantees
exist
either
that
another
employer
wouldn't
fire
me
or
that
I
wouldn't
find
myself
in
a
bad
job
situation
again.
I
made
the
choice
to
believe
in
myself.
And
that's
a
risk
worth
taking.

【解析】
这是一篇说明文。本文主要讲述了要使得一本书很容易阅读并且受很多人欢迎并不容易,并介绍了几点建议。
【16题详解】
根据上文“What
makes
a
book
a
good
read?
It
is
a
great
question,
but
there's
no
easy
answer!(什么使一本书成为好书?这是一个很好的问题,但是没有简单的答案!)”以及后文“There
are
so
many
styles
and
types
of
books.
This
is
because
people
have
different
likes.(
书的风格和类型很多。这是因为人们有不同的喜好)”可知,上文提到什么书是好书并没有简单的答案,故此处是在说明原因,这是因为人们的爱好各不相同,即一个人感兴趣的东西对另一个人可能并不适用。故G选项“一个人感兴趣的东西对另一个人可能并不适用”符合语境,故选G。
【17题详解】
根据上文“For
fun,
go
and
read
the
1-star
Amazon
reviews
of
your
favorite
popular
book.
Many
people
hate
it
and
can't
finish
it!(有趣的是,去亚马逊上看看你最喜欢的畅销书的一星评论。许多人讨厌它,无法读成它!)”以及后文“Maybe,
it
depends
on
your
preferences.(
也许,这取决于你的喜好)”可知,上文提到畅销的书许多人却讨厌,甚至读不完,因此本句承接上文,提出疑问:这是不是意味着这些书实际上很糟糕?后文则给出了答案,上文中favorite
popular
book可对应到B选项中the
book。故B选项“这是否意味着这本书实际上很糟糕?”符合语境,故选B。
【18题详解】
根据空格前面内容“it's
necessary
to
study
the
books
you
and
others
think
are
good
reads(学习你和别人认为好的书籍是很有必要的)”且“ask”表明填空处应为疑问句,是在对上文要和别人学习好的书籍的行为表示疑问。故C选项“为什么要这样做?”符合语境,故选C。
【19题详解】
根据上文“Most
serous
writers
have
early
readers
who
read
drafts
and
provide
their
opinions(大多数严谨的作家都有早期的读者,这些读者阅读草稿并提供他们的意见)”可知,本句承接上文说明,这些作者让早期读者提供意见的原因是:他们是在向真实的读者学习,且上文中Most
serous
writers可对应到F选项中These
writers。故F选项“这些作家是在向真实的读者学习”符合语境,故选F。
【20题详解】
根据上文“One
difficulty
in
writing
is
that
it
is
hard
to
find
people
who
can
give
useful
opinions
beyond
‘I
like
it’
or
‘I
hate
it.’.(写作的一个困难在于,很难找到除了“我喜欢它”或“我讨厌它”之外还能给出有用意见的人。”)”
可知很难有读者提出真正有用的意见,所以要设法找到好的建议提供者,上文中find
people
who
can
give
useful
opinions可对应到D选项中find
good
advice
givers。故D选项“你必须设法找到好的建议提供者”符合语境,故选D。
第三部分:完形填空(共20小题;每小题1.5分,满分30分)
