I am Mike Smith, a doctor from London. I really feel that life in China is changing so quickly. Recently I had a business trip to Tianjin. I left my Beijing apartment and walked half a street to the subway station. About twelve stops later, I reached the high speed rail station. After two minutes of security(安检), I picked up my ticket, which I had bought on my phone while on the subway. Then I walked to the terminal(终点) and got on the train. Twenty-eight minutes later I was in the center of a beautiful city — Tianjin. I could enjoy a nice walk along the riverside towards my hotel. It is amazing that the whole experience took no more than a few hours, with no cars, no airports, no credit cards(信用卡) and no long lines, just my smart phone, only a few US dollars and comfortable walking shoes. In most places in the developed world, there is no experience like this. But China is different.
So in my opinion, if we think highly of China's modern wonders, I believe its high speed rail system must be one of them. And it's one symbol of a new China and a sign of China's strength as well.

27.How did Mike buy his ticket to Tianjin? He bought it .?

B. from the high speed rail ticket office
C. from the subway ticket office
D. with the help of his friend
28. How many traffic tools did Mike use from his apartment to his hotel in Tianjin?
A. One. B. Two. C. Three. D. Four.
29.According to the passage, Mike thinks that the trip is so .?
A. comfortable and expensive
B. convenient and expensive
C. cheap but tiring
D. comfortable and cheap
30.What is Mike's attitude to Chinese high speed rail train? He it.?
A. looks down upon B. dislikes
C. praises(赞扬) D. hates

Dear Mum and Dad,
I'm writing this letter to you from the centre of Australia. At the moment we're staying near Uluru — that's the Aboriginal(土著的) name for Ayers Rock. On the first day, we took a balloon(气球) tour over the rock, and I was surprised at how big it was: 3 kilometres long and 348 metres high. The colours of the rock are fantastic, and at different times of the day, they change from purple to red.
The Australians have many British relatives(亲属). That's why they're like us in many ways. Their family life is similar to ours, and they enjoy the same food and hobbies. The food and drink that most Australians like are grapes, lamb, ham and especially(尤其) wine that they make in the south of the country. They love all sports, but football is the most popular. Most Australians live near the coast, so they also love going to the beach, swimming and surfing.
Although it's December, it's summer over here. The sunshine is very bright, and near the coast the countryside is very green. There are lots of sheep in the fields and on the hills, but the outback(澳大利亚的内地) is more like a desert, full of rocks and sand.
The next day after we arrived at Uluru, we went on a camel(骆驼) ride. The camel that I rode had a bad temper. When I sat on its back, it became very angry and refused(拒绝) me. So everyone else thought it was very funny that my camel kept lying down...
Finally, later this evening, we're taking the plane back to Sydney and coming home. It's been a fantastic trip!
Tony

When you visit the Great Wall, you can't help wondering how the Chinese people were able to build such a great wall thousands of years ago. Without any modern machines, it was really difficult to build it. They had to do all the work by hand. It took millions of men many years to build it.
