M:I
wonder
why
the
post
office
is
still
not
open.
I've
been
waiting
for
15
minutes.
W:It's
ten
past
eight.
You'll
have
to
wait
for
20
minutes
before
it
opens.
Text

W:Would
you
like
to
go
camping
with
Peter
and
me
during
the
summer
vacation?
M:I'd
like
to.
But
I'm
going
to
London
to
visit
my
parents
with
some
friends.
Text

W:Do
you
know
where
our
food
is?
We've
been
here
for
almost
half
an
hour.
M:I'm
sorry.
It
must
be
ready
now.
I'll
go
and
check.

W:Hello.
Is
Bill
there?
M:Sorry,
no.
This
is
his
brother,
Tom.
Can
I
take
a
message?
W:Yes,
please.
Tell
him
that
Angela
called
and
that
the
party
is
on
Friday
night
at
Amy's
flat.
It
starts
at
about
7:30
in
the
evening.
Could
you
please
ask
him
to
bring
some
of
his
CDs?
We'd
like
some
music
that
we
can
dance
to.
M:No
problem.
Text

M:You
know,
my
car
hasn't
been
the
same
since
I
bumped
into
that
telephone
box.
W:You'd
better
have
that
looked
into
before
you
drive
to
Florida.

M:Good
afternoon,
everyone.
I'm
glad
to
introduce
Ms
Linda
Smith,
who
is
famous
for
painting
stones.
Linda,
when
did
you
begin
painting
stones?
W:Actually,
I
started
around
six
months
ago.
I
happened
to
find
some
smooth
stones
on
the
beach
and
I
brought
them
home
and
began
to
paint
on
them.
I
was
amazed
that
they
looked
so
beautiful
so
I
continued.
M:How
many
have
you
painted
so
far?
W:About
a
hundred.
M:What
kind
of
pictures
do
you
paint?
W:It
depends
on
the
shape.
I
usually
paint
an
animal
or
a
scene
from
a
place
that
I
have
been
to.
Look
at
this
painting
of
a
Swiss
village.
On
this
stone,
you
can
see
my
neighbor's
cats.
M:They
are
so
colorful!
They
look
so
detailed,
even
though
they
are
on
such
a
tiny
stone.

M:Hi,
Jenny!
I'm
so
happy
to
see
you
again.
W:Me,
too.
It's
been
almost
three
years
since
we
met
in
Canada.
M:So,
how
has
everything
been
going?
W:I
really
don't
know
where
to
start.
I
worked
as
a
computer
programmer
in
Canada
for
eight
months
and
then
I
went
to
China
and
did
some
editing
work
for
China
Daily
for
about
two
years.
M:Really?
What
are
you
doing
at
the
moment?
W:I've
just
come
back
to
Britain.
I'm
on
my
way
to
an
interview
for
a
journalism
job
at
the
moment.
M:Oh!
Good
luck!
W:Thank
you!

M:Want
to
go
with
me
to
get
some
pizza,
Sophie?
W:No,
Black.
I'm
waiting
for
a
package
to
be
delivered.
M:This
is
why
I
hate
shopping
online.
It
would
be
faster
to
just
get
what
you
want
from
the
store.
Now
you
have
to
sit
here
all
day.
Isn't
Mom
home?
W:No,
Mom
went
to
work.
M:Just
download
an
app
to
keep
track
of
your
package.
You
can
just
come
back
when
you
get
a
delivery
notice.
W:No,
thanks,
Mr
Bossy.
Even
if
they
leave
the
package
for
a
short
time,
someone
could
steal
it.
M:You
just
don't
want
to
be
seen
with
your
little
brother!
W:It's
not
that.
I
really
did
plan
to
stay
home
and
wait
for
this
package.
Why
don't
we
just
have
pizza
delivered?
M:Great.
More
waiting.

W:Good
afternoon!
Welcome
to
the
Service
Center.
What
can
I
do
for
you?
M:Good
afternoon.
I'd
like
to
rent
a
two?bedroom
apartment.
W:OK,
do
you
have
a
specific
location
in
mind?
M:Well,
I'd
like
to
live
near
the
elementary
school,
or
at
least
within
2
miles.
W:Do
you
teach
at
the
school?
M:No.
I
teach
at
the
university,
but
my
son
goes
to
school
there.
W:OK.
What
price
range
can
you
afford?
M:$500
to
$580
a
month.
W:Would
you
prefer
an
apartment
with
furniture
or
an
empty
one?
M:With
furniture,
and
we'd
like
to
be
able
to
cook
at
home.
W:OK.
Here
are
the
photos
of
two
apartments
that
I
think
will
fit
your
needs.
You
can
choose
between
them.
M:Thank
you.
Ah,
the
one
on
the
Broadway
Avenue
looks
nicer
than
the
one
on
Main
Street.
When
can
I
have
a
look?
W:You
can
look
around
now
if
you'd
like.
Let
me
get
the
key
for
you.
If
you
are
satisfied,
we
can
sign
an
agreement
today.
M:Great.
Thanks.
How
much
do
you
charge
for
the
service?
W:$100.
M:All
right.

Hello,
everyone,
and
welcome
to
the
White
House!
I'll
be
your
guide
today.
The
building
known
as
the
White
House
is
the
home
of
the
president
of
the
United
States
and
his
family.
The
president
also
has
his
office
here.
In
1790,
America's
first
president,
George
Washington,
wanted
to
build
a
new
presidential
home.
A
competition
was
held
to
find
a
designer
to
build
it.
The
architect
James
Hoban
won
the
contest.
He
planned
a
building
of
grayish?white
sandstone.
The
color
gave
the
house
its
name.
The
work
started
in
1792.
But
the
house
was
not
ready
before
the
end
of
President
Washington's
term.
America's
second
president,
John
Adams,
and
his
wife
moved
into
the
house
on
Nov.
1,
1800.
By
then,
the
building
had
six
completed
rooms.
Many
of
the
rooms
were
still
empty
when
John
Adams
left
office
a
few
months
later.
Other
presidents
tried
to
complete
the
White
House.
But
the
British
burned
it
down
during
the
War
of
1812.
The
White
House
was
rebuilt
after
that
war.
Since
then,
it
has
been
enlarged,
repaired
and
almost
totally
rebuilt.
Today,
the
White
House
has
132
rooms.
Visitors
can
walk
through
some
of
the
public
ones.

Dear
Mr
Brown,
I'm
really
glad
to
receive
your
letter.
As
you
have
seen,
many
Chinese
choose
to
stick
the
character
Fu
on
the
door
upside
down
during
the
Spring
Festival.
This
actually
expresses
their
best
wishes
for
the
new
year.
In
Chinese,
the
character
for
“upside
down”
sounds
the
same
as
the
character
for
“to
arrive”
so
this
means
that
happiness
is
arriving.
Quite
interesting,
isn't
it?
By
the
way,
I'd
like
to
invite
you
to
celebrate
the
Dragon
Boat
Festival
with
my
family
after
the
College
Entrance
Exam.
It's
a
day
in
memory
of
the
great
poet
Qu
Yuan
and
we
usually
eat
zongzi
and
enjoy
dragon
boat
races.
It'll
be
a
good
opportunity
to
experience
truly
great
Chinese
culture
and
tradition.
Looking
forward
to
your
reply.
Yours,
Li
Hua

B
For
Western
designers,
China
and
its
rich
culture
have
long
been
an
inspiration
for
Western
creative.
“It's
no
secret
that
China
has
always
been
a
source
(来源)
of
inspiration
for
designers,”
says
Amanda
Hill,
chief
creative
officer
at
A+E
Networks,
a
global
media
company
and
home
to
some
of
the
biggest
fashion
(时尚)
shows.
Earlier
this
year,
the
China
Through
A
Looking
Glass
exhibition
in
New
York
exhibited
140
pieces
of
China?inspired
fashionable
clothing
alongside
Chinese
works
of
art,
with
the
aim
of
exploring
the
influence
of
Chinese
aesthetics
(美学)
on
Western
fashion
and
how
China
has
fueled
the
fashionable
imagination
for
centuries.
The
exhibition
had
record
attendance,
showing
that
there
is
huge
interest
in
Chinese
influences.
“China
is
impossible
to
overlook,”
says
Hill.
“Chinese
models
are
the
faces
of
beauty
and
fashion
campaigns
that
sell
dreams
to
women
all
over
the
world,
which
means
Chinese
women
are
not
just
consumers
of
fashion—they
are
central
to
its
movement.”
Of
course,
not
only
are
today's
top
Western
designers
being
influenced
by
China—some
of
the
best
designers
of
contemporary
fashion
are
themselves
Chinese.
“Vera
Wang,
Alexander
Wang,
Jason
Wu
are
taking_on
Galliano,
Albaz,
Marc
Jacobs—and
beating
them
hands
down
in
design
and
sales,”
adds
Hill.
For
Hill,
it
is
impossible
not
to
talk
about
China
as
the
leading
player
when
discussing
fashion.
“The
most
famous
designers
are
Chinese,
so
are
the
models,
and
so
are
the
consumers,”
she
says.
“China
is
no
longer
just
another
market;
in
many
senses
it
has
become
the
market.
If
you
talk
about
fashion
today,
you
are
talking
about
China—its
influences,
its
direction,
its
breathtaking

International
tourism
is
becoming
interestingly
popular,
and
large
numbers
of
people
from
all
over
the
world
come
to
visit
famous
places
such
as
the
Great
Wall
of
China
and
the
Sistine
Chapel
in
the
Vatican.
__31__
They've
thrown
rubbish
everywhere,
brought
more
traffic
and
even
done
serious
damage
to
ancient
relics.
As
for
the
damage,
there
are
many
different
causes.
For
example,
the
paintings
in
the
Sistine
Chapel
are
being
damaged
by
people
breathing
onto
them
when
they
visit.
__32__
That
may
raise
the
humidity
(湿气)
of
the
air
and
damage
the
paintings.
Damage
in
other
places
such
as
the
Great
Wall
is
because
of
tourists
climbing
on
delicate
(脆弱的)
areas.
Besides,
roads
have
also
been
built
to
help
visitors
climb
the
Wall
easily.
These
activities
can
cause
a
lot
of
damage
to
the
area.
__33__
Firstly,
we
have
to
cut
down
tourist
numbers,
because
fewer
visitors
will
result
in
less
damage.
Secondly,
we
should
make
strict
rules
about
which
areas
people
can
visit
and
what
they
can
do
when
they
get
there.
__34__
People
will
not
be
allowed
to
walk
off
the
paths.
Visitors
to
indoor
places
can
be
asked
to
wear
masks
to
protect
the
paintings.
In
short,
it
is
necessary
to
control
tourism
at
famous
places.
__35__
And
people
who
live
hundreds
of
years
later
will
have
no
chance
to
see
these
great
places.
A.For
example,
special
paths
can
be
built.
B.What
can
we
do
to
deal
with
these
problems?
C.The
Great
Wall
was
built
over
2,000
years
ago.
D.However,
these
visitors
have
caused
many
problems.
E.Traveling
is
the
best
way
for
us
to
get
to
know
the
world.
F.If
we
do
not
do
this,
these
places
will
disappear
from
our
planet.
G.Their
breath
contains
very
small
drops
of
water
that
are
present
in
the
air.

第二节 概要写作(满分25分)
阅读下面短文,根据其内容写一篇60词左右的内容概要。
Almost
everyone
has
read
about
the
Taj
Mahal
in
India.
It
is
one
of
the
most
beautiful
buildings
in
the
world.
Over
three
hundred
years
ago,
Shah
Jehan
built
the
Taj
Mahal
as
the
tomb
for
his
wife.
Shah
Jehan
wanted
his
wife's
tomb
to
be
perfect.
He
did
not
care
about
time
or
money.
He
brought
together
workmen
from
all
Asia.
Altogether,
over
20,000
men
worked
on
the
building,
and
it
took
them
over
seventeen
years
to
finish
it.
The
building
rests
on
a
platform
of
red
sandstone.
Four
thin
white
towers
rise
from
the
corners
of
the
platform.
A
large
dome
rests
from
the
centre
of
the
building.
Around
this
large
dome
there
are
four
smaller
ones.
The
building
is
made
of
fine
white
and
coloured
marble.
It
has
eight
sides
and
many
arches.
There
is
an
open
corridor
just
inside
the
outer
walls.
From
this
corridor,
the
visitor
looks
through
the
marble
screen
to
a
central
room.
The
bodies
of
Shah
Jehan
and
his
wife
lie
in
a
tomb
below
this
room.
A
beautiful
garden
surrounds
the
Taj
Mahal.
The
green
trees
make
the
marble
look
even
whiter.
In
front
of
the
main
entrance
to
the
building
there
is
a
long,narrow
pool.
If
you
look
in
this
pool,
you
can
see
all
the
beauty
of
the
Taj
Mahal
in
the
reflection
from
the
water.
Many
people
think
the
Taj
Mahal
is
the
most
beautiful
at
sunset.
Then
the
marble
picks
up
the
colour
of
the
sunset,
and
the
building
and
its
reflection
in
the
pool
gleam
like
red
jewels.
