《最后一片叶子》是美国作家欧-亨利的作品。该作品描写了一位老画家为患肺炎而奄奄一息的穷学生画最后一片长春藤叶的故事。老画家贝尔曼是一个在社会底层挣扎了一辈子的小人物,一生饱经风霜、穷困潦倒,却热爱绘画艺术,为挽救一个青年画家的生命而献出了自己的生命。
作者通过对穷苦朋友间友谊的描写,刻画出一个舍己为人的以自己生命为代价创造真正杰作的画家形象,讴歌了以贝尔曼为代表的普通人的高尚,体现了人们通过自己的深思而得到的重生。
