1. How does Mary get to school? 玛丽是怎样到学校的？
本句是how引导的特殊疑问句，用于询问交通方式。how疑问副词，意为“如何，怎样，用什么样的方式”。 其回答方式主要有两种：
①动词短语（在句中作谓语）：take +a/the +表示交通工具的名词+to（乘坐……去……）
ride a bike to（骑自行车去……）； walk to （步行去……）
②介词短语（在句中作状语）：by+表示交通工具的单数名词；on/in a/the+表示交通工具的单数名词；on foot步行。例如：
I walk to school./I get to school on foot.我步行去上学。
I ride a bike to school./I get to school by bike. /I get to school on my bike.
我骑自行车到学校。
I take the bus to school./I get to school by bus. /I get to school on the bus.
我乘公共汽车到学校。
【温馨提示】on foot，by bike, by bus, by subway, by train by car等词组中的名词前不能加冠词或其他修饰词。
2. one hundred and five 一百零五
hundred数词，意为“百”。当hundred前面有具体的数词时，被修饰的名词用复数，hundred本身还用单数形式。即：“基数词+hundred”。
例如：There are about eight hundred students in our school.我们学校大约有800名学生。
【拓展】当hundred 与of连用时，它后边的名词和它本身都用复数。hundreds of意为“数以百计”，此时不能与数词连用。例如：
There are hundreds of people in the restaurant.这个餐馆里有数百人。
3. How far is it from your home to school? 从你家到学校多远？
how far 意为“多远”，用来提问距离或路程的远近。
常用句型：How far is it from A to B? 或How far is B from A?意为
“从A到B有多远？
例如：--How far does your uncle live from here?
你叔叔住的地方离这儿有多远？
--It’s 5 kilometers.五千米。
【拓展】①how often 意为“多久一次”，提问频率。
例如： --How often do you go to see your grandparents? 你多长时间去看你的祖父母一次？
--Every week. 每周一次。
② how soon 意为“多久”，询问从现在往后还有多久，常对“in +时间段”进行提问。
例如：-How soon will your brother get back?你哥哥将多久回来？
--In two days.两天后。
4. –How long does it take you to get to school? 你到学校需要多长时间？
（1）how long意为“多长时间”，用于询问某动作持续的时间。
例如：--How long will we stay there? 我们要在那儿待多久？
--About a week.大约一周。
（2）take 此处作及物动词，意为“花费”。It takes sb. some time to do sth. 意为“花费某人多长时间做某事”。it是形式主语，真正的主语是位于句子后面的动词不定式to do sth.。例如：It takes me half an hour to walk to school.走到学校要花费我半小时。
