一、重点单词
1.sheep n.羊;绵羊
可数名词,单复数同形。
【拓展】单复数同形的名词还有deer,Chinese,Japanese等。
2.natural adj.自然的
其名词形式为nature(大自然;自然界);副词形式为naturally(自然地)。
3.visitor n.游客;访问者
由动词visit加后缀-or构成的名词。常见的由动词加后缀-or构成的名词有:act → actor(演员);invent → inventor(发明家);direct → director(导演);collect → collector(收藏家)。
4.tired adj.疲倦的;疲劳的
tired还有“厌倦;厌烦”之意。常用短语:be tired of… 表示“对……感到厌倦”。
5.stay v.停留;待
(1)作不及物动词时,意为“停留;逗留”,后常接介词短语表示停留在某地。
(2)作连系动词时,意为“维持;保持”,其后常接形容词作表语。
(3)作名词时,意为“停留;逗留(时间)”。
(4)常用短语: stay in 待在家里,不外出; stay at home 待在家里; stay out 待在户外; stay with sb.和某人待在一起。
二、重点句型
1. What did you do last weekend, Lucy?
你上周末做什么了,露西?
(1)这是一般过去时的特殊疑问句,由特殊疑问词what引导,一般用来询问他人在过去做了什么,结构为“What+did+主语+do+表示过去的时间状语?”,其中do为动词原形。注意回答时动词用过去式。如:
—What did you do last night?
—I watched TV.
—你昨晚做什么了?
—我看电视了。
(2)last+表示时间的词,如:night, Sunday, week, weekend, month, year等,构成表示过去的时间状语,其前通常省略at, on, in等介词。如:
He went to the beach last Sunday.
上个星期天他去海滩了。
2. —Who visited her grandma?
—Becky did.
—谁去看望了她的奶奶?
—贝姬看望了。
Becky did.是一个省略句,用did代替了上句中的行为动作,完整回答应为:Becky visited her grandma.,该结构是为了避免重复上文中的行为动作。在英语中常用do的适当形式(do, does, did)来代替上文出现的行为动作。如:
—Did you make a wish?
—No, but my friend Lily did.
—你许愿了吗?
—没有,但是我的朋友莉莉许了。(did等于made a wish)
3. I worked as a guide at the Natural History Museum.
我在自然历史博物馆当导游了。
work as 表示“从事……(工作)”,as在此处用作介词,意为“作为;当作”,其后接职业名词。
【拓展】与work相关的常用短语:
work for 为……工作; work on 从事,忙于; work out 算出,做出。
4. How interesting!
多么有趣啊!
这是省略了主语和谓语动词的感叹句,其完整结构应为:How interesting it was!
【拓展】感叹句的两种结构:
(1) How+形容词/副词(+主语+谓语动词)!
(2) What (+a/an)+形容词+名词(+主语+谓语动词)!
