I. Teaching Objectives教学目标
1. Knowledge objectives:
a. To make the students remember some useful words and expressions about materials and products.
b. To enable them to talk about what products are made of and where they were made.
2. Ability objectives:
a. To train the students the ability of listening, speaking, reading and writing.
b. To improve the students’ ability of grammar learning--- The Passive Voice with present tense.
3. Emotion objectives:
To arouse students’ awareness of studying harder to make our country stronger.
II. Key Points and Difficult Points 重难点
The key points focus on some useful expressions like: chopsticks, coin, fork, blouse, silver, glass, cotton, steel, produce, widely, process
And also some target languages on talking about what products are made of and where they were made:
A: What is/are it/they made of?
B: I think it/they is/are made of …
A: Where was/were it/they made?
B: It/they was/were made in …
And as for the difficult points, students should learn to get information and express themselves with the passive voice.
III. Teaching Methods and Learning Strategies 教学方法与学习策略
Teaching methods: To make students become the main part of our class, I will adopt the TBLT method and CLT method, namely Task-based Language teaching method and Communicative Language teaching method.
Learning strategies: We all know “Learning by doing”, “Learning by using”, “Learning by practicing”. Students will take part in the activities between the teacher and the students.

Guessing Game
Let students watch and listen to the teacher carefully: Can you guess what it is?
Students watch and listen to the teacher carefully.
It is small, round circle. It is yellow. It is made of gold. I wear it on my finger. Guess what it is!
They are pairs of thin sticks. They can be made of wood, bamboo, plastic, silver, gold or steel. They are used for lifting food to your mouth. They are popular in China, Japan and Korea. Guess what they are.
It is said, “Well begun is half done”. And I will say, a wonderful class depends on a good leading, which can arouse the curiosity of the students and bring up students’ learning interest.

Task1.
看图说话
Let Ss look at the pictures and say what materials and products they are.
Look at the pictures and say them in English: silver, glass, cotton, steel…
chopsticks, coin, fork, blouse…
To use the pictures to arouse students’ interest in speaking English because pictures are very lively, direct and easy to see.
Task 2.
七嘴八舌
Ask students to use the target language “What are these things made of?”.
Look at the pictures and say at once.
Ss look at the pictures and say at once with
the target language “ They are made of…”
To use the target language to talk about the materials of things. What’s more, students can also make predictions about the next listening task..
Task3.
听力对对碰
Ask students to listen and match the products with what they are made of and where they were made.
Ask students to watch the video and follow it.
Then explain the key points: The Simple Present is used to say what a product is made of.
The Simple Past is used to talk about where a product was made.
Students will listen and match the products with what they are made of and where they were made.
Then watch the video and follow it.
Think about the explanation.
After finishing the first two tasks, students have got a main impression of the passive voice. They are supposed to understand the listening material in details and solve some language goals.
Task 4.
对话活动
Show some pictures of products to the students and ask Ss to describe it with “be made of/in”.
Ss are expected to make conversations with the key structures.
A: What is/are it/they made of?
B: I think it/they is/are made of …
A: Where was/were it/they made?
B: It/they was/were made in …
This part aims at checking up the students’ listening effects in a speaking way.
Task 5.
动动耳动动脑
Play the listening material twice to guide Ss to finish 2a&2b.
Guide them to check the answers.
Finish the tasks.
2a. Listen and check (√) the main topic of Nick and Marcus’ conversation.
2b. Listen again. Write short answers to the questions.
This part aims to improve students’ listening ability by further input.
Task 6.

1. Play a video for students.
Ask them to watch it carefully and answer a question: How many kinds of Chinese tea in the video?
2. Let Ss read the dialogue in 2d, then answer the questions and complete the mind-map(思维导图).
