A
number
of
Americans
predict
that
driverless
cars
will
revolutionize
the
form
of
travelling
in
cities
and
on
highways.
However,
recent
experiments
have
shown
that
autonomous
vehicles
also
have
the
potential
to
improve
the
quality
of
life
for
millions
of
Americans,
especially
the
elderly
and
disabled,
so
long
as
the
government
and
lawmakers
carry
out
smart
policies
that
pave
the
way
for
innovation.
A
retirement
community
in
Alabama
which
has
been
transformed
by
a
small
group
of
driverless
taxis
shows
the
potential
of
self-driving
cars
to
change
people’s
lives
in
America.
Although
the
modified
Ford
Fusions
are
currently
limited
to
a
two-mile
road,
residents
are
already
having
the
benefits
of
these
autonomous
vehicles,
which
allow
them
to
take
part
in
social
activities
which
they
would
otherwise
be
unable
to
enjoy
simply
because
they
could
not
get
to
them.
When
the
experimental
run
finally
reaches
15

these
residents
whose
average
age
is
77
will
also
have
a
convenient

new
way
to
keep
their

Because
these
cars
continue
to
serve
residents
there,
it
is
not

why
California
is
gradually
simplifying
regulations
for
the

In

ahead-thinking
policies
have
the
potential
to
unlock
other
hidden
benefits
of
autonomous
vehicles,
especially
for
those
with
physical

The
New
Jersey
Disability
Rights
Coalition
has
strongly
advocated
for
the
development
of
this
technology,
saying
that
it
could
give
people
with
disabilities
greater
opportunities
in
the
workforce
and
enable
them
to
lead
more
satisfying
and
independent
lives.
Many
Americans
admit
that
autonomous
vehicles
will
be
the
future
of
transportation,
but
it
is
too
often
overlooked
that
this
future
cannot
arrive
fast
enough
for
millions
of
Americans
who
are
forced
to
depend
on
others
for
day-to-day
travel.
The
policymakers
should
follow
the
lead
of
places

California
and

regulations
to

these
hidden
benefits
of

4.
【解析】第四句relating改为related。Related是形容词,意为“相关的,有关的”。
5.
【解析】第五句在elder前加and。逗号前后是两个并列句,缺少连词;再结合句意,故elder前加and。

Parking
in
the
CBD
of
any
Australian
city
is
expensive,
hard
to
come
by
and
often
an
unavoidable
headache.
But
Rylan
Kindness,
a
16-year-old
entrepreneur
(企业家)
from
Brisbane,
thinks
he
might
have
the
answer
to
this
problem.
It
was
after
Rylan
realized
his
parents
were
spending
hours
to
try
and
find
parking
deals
in
the
city
that
he
came
up
with
the
idea
for
a
centralized
system.
This
system
shows
users
the
best
price
for
parking
in
the
area
they
want
and
offers
users
a
daily
deal
with
a
discount.
Rylan
now
doubles
as
a
high
school
student
and
the
CEO
of
Parking
Deals
Australia,
a
role
he
took
on
four
months
ago
when
he
launched
the
business
from
his
bedroom.
Parking
Deals
Australia
isn’t
even
Rylan’s
first
business.
When
he
was
barely
11,
Rylan
came
up
with
an
idea
to
sell
wholesale
(批发的)
scooter
parts
online,
purely
because
he
just
wanted
some
extra
money.
On
the
side,
he’s
succeeding
in
other
passions
as
well.
And
despite
Rylan
clearly
being
a
high-achiever
and
having
a
knack
(诀窍)
for
business,
he
admitted
it
hasn’t
always
been
smooth
sailing.
“I’ve
learned
so
many
crazy
things
through
trial
and
error.
Every
day
I
fail
somewhere
but
I
always
try
to
get
better.
My
biggest
failure
was
when
I
first
set
up
everything
and
thought
it
was
what
everyone
else
would
like
but
it’s
a
shock
when
you
see
people
not
enjoying
what
you’re
doing.
It
makes
you
want
to
cry
a
little
bit
but
then
you
polish
the
product
and
keep
going,”
he
said.
While
Rylan
didn’t
want
to
say
exactly
how
much
his
now-bustling
company
is
worth,
he
did
admit
he’s
making
a
tidy
profit.
“I
earn
more
in
one
day
than
I
was
earning
for
three
months
work
in
a
cafe
but
I’m
investing
it
all
back
into
the
business.
What
I’ve
learned
is
that
if
you’re
starting
a
business
just
to
make
money,
you’re
definitely
going
to
fail.
I’m
there
to
help
millions
of
people
and
that’s
what
really
gets
me
going,”
he
said.
Rylan’s
goal
with
Parking
Deals
Australia
is
to
take
it
countrywide.
“We
want
to
be
everyone’s
second
step
in
their
parking
journey
and
save
millions
of
people
millions
of
dollars,”
he
said.

growing
for
biometric(生物测量)technologies—like

At

This

the

The

offer
a
strong

by
analyzing
things

the
force
of
a

typing
and
the
time

are
unique
to

Thus,

whether
they

Data
collected
from
the
device
could
be
used
to

different
participants
based
on
how
they
typed,
with
very
low

rates.
The
researchers
say
that
the

is

plastic-like
parts.

阅读理解
A
(2020·北京高二检测)
Job
sharing
refers
to
the
situation
in
which
two
people
divide
the
responsibility
of
one
full-time
job.
The
two
people
willingly
act
as
part-time
workers,
enough
hours
between
them
to
fulfill
the
duties
of
a
full-time
worker.
If
they
each
work
half
the
job,
for
example,
they
each
receive
50
per
cent
of
the
job’s
wages,
its
holidays
and
its
other
benefits.
Job
sharing
differs
from
conventional(常规的)
part-time
work
in
that
it
occurs
mainly
in
the
more
highly
skilled
and
professional
areas,
which
require
higher
levels
of
responsibility
and
employee
commitment.
Job
sharing
should
not
be
confused
with
the
term
work
sharing,
which
refers
to
increasing
the
number
of
jobs
by
reducing
the
number
of
hours
of
each
existing
job,
thus
offering
more
positions
to
the
growing
number
of
unemployed
people.
Job
sharing,
by
contrast,
is
not
designed
to
address
unemployment
problems;
its
focus,
instead,
is
to
provide
well-paid
work
for
skilled
workers
and
professionals
who
want
more
free
time
for
other
activities.
As
would
be
expected,
most
job
sharers
are
women.
A
survey
carried
out
in
1988
by
Britain’s
Equal
Opportunities
Commission
showed
that
78
percent
of
sharers
were
female,
the
majority
of
whom
were
between
20
and
40
years
of
age.
Subsequent
studies
have
come
up
with
similar
results.
Many
of
these
women
were
re-entering
the
job
market
after
having
had
children,
but
they
chose
not
to
seek
part-time
work
because
it
would
have
meant
lower
status.
Job
sharing
also
offered
an
acceptable
shift
back
into
full-time
work
after
a
long
absence.
The
necessity
of
close
cooperation
when
sharing
a
job
with
another
person
makes
the
actual
work
quite
different
from
conventional
one-position
jobs.
However,
to
ensure
a
greater
chance
that
the
partnership
will
succeed,
each
person
needs
to
know
the
strengths,
weaknesses
and
preferences
of
his
or
her
partner
before
applying
for
a
position.
Moreover,
there
must
be
a
fair
division
of
both
routine
tasks
and
interesting
ones.
In
sum,
for
a
position
to
be
job-shared
well,
the
two
individuals
must
be
well
matched
and
must
treat
each
other
as
equals.

Many
people
have
long
dreamed
of
being
able
to
fly
around
as
simply
as
riding
a
bicycle.
Yet
the
safety
and
strength
of
a

was
always
a
big
problem.
Over

10
years,
developments
in

have

the
dream
of
personal
flying
vehicles
closer
to
reality.
Now,
two
groups
of
inventors
say
such
vehicles
may
be
available
soon.
The
British

he

the
company’s
main
concern.
He

the
designers
solved
the
safety
issue
by
using
overlapping
rotors
to
power
the
vehicle.
The
company

a
full-size
prototype
of
the
Hoverbike,
which

Aircraft
Company

Peter
Coker
is
the
CEO
of
Martin
Aircraft
Company.
He
said
the
Jetpack
is
built
around
safety
from
the
start.
In
his
words,
“Reliability
is
the
most
important
element
of
it.
We
have
safety
built
into
the
actual
structure
itself,
very
similar
to
a
Formula
One
racing
car.
”
The
Jetpack
uses
a
gasoline-powered
engine
that
produces
two
powerful
jet
streams.
Mr
Coker
says
it
also
has
a
parachute
that
would
be
used,
if
there
should
be
an
emergency.
“It
starts
to
work
at
very
low
altitude
and
actually
saves
both
the
aircraft
and
the
pilot,”
he
adds.
Mr
Coker
says
the
Jetpack
will
be
ready
for
sale
soon.
