Four
people
are
talking
about
their
problems
when
studying
English.
I
am
Denver.
I
work
50
hours
a
week
as
a
taxi
driver,
so
I
talk
to
people
all
day.
They
understand
me,
but
I
often
make
a
lot
of
mistakes.
No
one
corrects
me.
My
vocabulary
is
strong.
Grammar
is
my
problem.
I’m
trying
to
change
little
by
little.
For
example.
I
don’t
use
the
past
tense.
I
always
say.

practice
English.
I

my
writing
is
good,

I’m
very
nervous
when
I
speak
English.
I
don’t
want
to
make
any
mistakes
because
I’m
afraid
people
will
think
that
I’m
stupid.

pronunciation
isn’t
good.
When
I
speak,
people
often
say,
“What?
Say
that
again”.
I
am
Yoshi.
I
have
been
in
the
United
States
for
one
year.
I’m

grammar
well

the
vocabulary
is
very
difficult.
When
I
listen,
I
don’t
understand
many
of
the
words.
When
I
try
to
read,
there
are
three
or
four
new
words
in
every
sentence.
I
feel
discouraged.

In
New
Brighton,
Minnesota,
the
Bartz
brothers(Connor,
Austin,
and
Trevor)have
built
beautiful
snow
sculptures
in
their
front
yard
for
the
past
five
years.
But
they’re
not
ordinary
snowmen--they’re
huge
and
sea-themed!
The
tradition
began
in
2012,
after
a
family
fishing
trip
in
Florida,
where
Connor,
then
17,
caught
a
puffer
fish.
It
encouraged
the
boys
to
make
a
super-sized
fish
out
of
snow.
So
they
got
to
work,
collecting
as
much
snow
as
possible
from
around
their
neighborhood.
After
eight
hours
of
shoveling(用铲子铲)and
sculpting
snow
their
5-foot-tall
puffer
fish
was
complete.
And
it
was
a
big
hit!
Before
long.
the
locals
and
TV
reporters
began
stopping
by
their
front
yard
to
enjoy
their
creation.
“Each
winter,
we
decide
which
sea
animals
would
work
best
and
be
the
most
fun
to
build,”
Trevor
said.
Since
2012,
they’ve
made
a
shark,
a
turtle,
an
octopus(章鱼)and
so,
on,
Their
favorite
is
the
octopus,
which
they
built
in
2016.
It
is
their
biggest
sculpture
yet,
taking
nearly
500
hours(and
150
tons
of
snow)to
make!
The
brothers
also
made
sure
it
was
just
as
much
fun
for
visitors.
“We
liked
that
it
was
kid-friendly,
with
tentacles(触须)you
could
slide
under,”
Connor
said.
Named
by
Facebook
fans,
Octavius
the
octopus
was
a
star
appearing
on
national
news
stations.
To
make
the
most
of
their
project,
the
boys
decided
to
raise
money
for
a
good
cause.
“Given
that
our
work
is
made
from
snow,
it
made
sense
to
collect
money
to
help
provide
drinking
water
to
people
in
need,”
Austin
said.
They
teamed
up
with
One
Day’s
Wages,
an
organization
that
provides
clean
water
to
people
in
Haiti.
By
the
end
of
winter,
the
brothers
had
raised
$17,
263!
Their
advice
for
anyone
with
big
dreams:
“If
you
want
to
be
successful,
work
hard
and
have
a
good
attitude,”
Austin
said.
“Success
might
not
come
immediately.
but
take
joy
in
what
you
are
doing
now.
When
we
were
younger,
we
made
many
snow
creations
that
did
not
make
the
news,
but
we
still
had
a
pleasurable
experience!”
4.
What
inspired
the
Bartz
brothers
to
start
their
creations?
A.
Their
family
traditions.
B.
A
fish
caught
by
Connor.
C.
Austin’s
snowmen
D.
Their
neighbors’
praise.
5.
Which
one
is
TRUE
about
Octavius
the
octopus?
A.
It
was
the
boys’
first
creation.
B.
It
was
the
boys’
smallest
sculpture.
C.
It
helped
the
boys
make
a
lot
of
money.
D.
It
attracted
wide
attention.
6.
What
suggestion
did
the
Bartz
brothers
make?
A.
Think
twice.
B.
Learn
to
be
creative.
C.
Start
small
and
enjoy
it.
D.
Make
use
of
everything.
7.
Which
of
the
following
can
best
describe
the
Bartz
brothers?
A.
Imaginative
and
caring.
B.
Childish
and
friendly.
C.
Open-minded
and
smart.
D.
Hard-working
and
courageous.
C
We
all
know
it
is
important
for
students
to
get
a
good
night’s
sleep
every
night.
They
aren’t
able
to
do
their
best
unless
they
sleep
well.
Most
experts
agree
that
the
proper
number
of
hours
is
eight,
and
this
has
been
accepted
as
common
sense
for
as
long
as
I
can
remember.
However,
I
was
young
once
and
I
know
that
most
of
you
get
much
less
sleep
than
that-and
sometimes
this
affects
your
schoolwork.
I
read
an
article
in
a
teachers’
magazine
recently.
They
did
a
study
of
848
students
in
a
senior
school.
Worryingly,
the
results
suggested
that
teenagers
are
facing
a
new
problem.
They
may
go
to
bed
and
get
up
at
proper
times
but
a
growing
number
wake
up
in
the
middle
of
the
night,
not
to
use
the
bathroom
or
have
a
snack
but
because
of
FOMO-the
fear
of
missing
out!
According
to
the
article,
schoolchildren
suffer
because
of
an
increasing
trend
to
wake
up
during
the
night
to
check
social
media.
Afraid
of
missing
a
message
or
chance
to
take
part
in
a
discussion,
teens
wake
up
at
all
times
of
the
night
to
go
online
and
join
up
with
social
groups.
All
this
happens
when
they
should
be
sound
asleep.
The
report
gives
some
worrying
numbers.
23%
of
12-to
15-year-olds
wake
up
nearly
every
night
to
use
social
media.
Another
15%
wake
up
at
night
once
a
week
for
the
same
reason.
As
a
result,
one
in
three
students
are
constantly
exhausted
and
unable
to
do
well
at
school.
So,
I’d
like
to
ask
you
to
be
responsible
when
it
comes
to
social
media.
Be
brave
and
turn
off
your
phones
and
computers
at
night.
The
world
won’t
end
and
your
social
media
will
be
waiting
to
greet
you
in
the
morning.
I
give
you
my
word
that
you
won’t
have
missed
anything
important.
8.

the
new
trend
among

up
at
night
to
get
something
to

D.
They
have
difficulty
in
falling
asleep
again
at
night.
9.
According
to
the
passage,
what
is
FOMO?
A.
A
fear
of
going
online.

Which
of
the
following
best
explains
the
underlined
word
in
Paragraph

A.
disappointed
B.
surprised

confused
D.
tired
11.
What’s
the
author’
attitude
towards
this
trend?
A.
Uninterested
B.
Supportive
C.
Concerned
D.
Doubtful
D
Though
you
might
think
you
were
taking
care
of
your
health
by
eating
enough
fruit
and
vegetables
every
day,
new
research
has
come
out
suggesting
that
you
might
be
swallowing
microplastic
particles(微塑科颗粒)along
with
all
those
vitamins,
minerals,
and
fibre.
A
study
published
in
the
journal
Environmental
Research
has
found
that
fruits
and
vegetables
absorb
microplastic
particles
from
the
soil
and
move
them
through
vegetal
tissues,
where
they
remain
until
eaten
by
hungry
diners,
thus
getting
transferred
to
human
bodies.
The
researchers,
who
are
from
the
University
of
Catania
in
Italy,
analyzed
a
variety
of
common
fruits
and
vegetables--carrots,
lettuce,
broccoli,
potatoes,
apples,
and
pears.
These
were
chosen
for
the
fact
that
they
are
frequently
consumed,
usually
one
per
day,
which
allowed
the
researchers
to
better
assess
the
dietary
intakes
of
MPs(microplastic
particles)and
NPs(nano-plastics).
The
samples
were
purchased
from
different
sources
in
the
city
of
Catania,
including
a
small
fruit
vendor
and
a
supermarket.
The
researchers
found
that
apples,
followed
by
pears,
were
the
most
polluted
fruit
samples,
and
carrots
were
the
most
polluted
vegetable.
In
the
study’s
discussion
section,
the
authors
wrote,
“We
can
assume
that
the
fruits
contain
more
MPs
not
only
because
of
the
very
high
vascularization(血资化)of
the
fruit
pulp(果肉)but
also
due
to
the
greater
size
and
complexity
of
the
root
system
and
age
of
the
tree(several
years)compared
to
the
vegetables(60-75
days
for
the
carrot).”
This
study
is
important
because
it’s
the
first
to
detect
microplastics
in
fruits
and
vegetables.
They
have
been
found
in
other
sources
before,
such
as
sea
salt,
beer,
water(bottled,
in
particular),
shellfish,
sugar,
soil,
and
even
air,
but
never
inside
fresh
produce.
It’s
an
alarming
discovery
that
raises
yet
another
red
flag
about
microplastic
pollution
in
the
natural
environment.
It’s
an
area
that
will
likely
see
a
lot
more
attention
in
coming
years,
with
the
study
authors
calling
for
further
research
into
the
question
of
microplastic
and
whether
it
harms
the
health
of
both
plants
and
humans.
12.
What
is
the
study
about?
A.
The
main
cause
of
soil
pollution.
B.
The
great
changes
in
people’s
diets.
C.
The
microplastic
pollution
in
fruits
and
vegetables.
D.
The
benefits
of
eating
fruits
and
vegetables.
13.
What
may
cause
fruits
to
contain
more
MPs
according
to
the
authors?
A.
The
large
amounts
of
the
fruit
pulp.
B.
The
planting
method.
C.
The
complex
preservation
method.
D.
The
long
growth
period
of
fruit
trees.
14.
What
makes
the
study
quite
special?
A.
It
discovered
MPs
in
fresh
produce
for
the
first
time.
B.
It
proved
the
source
of
microplastic
pollution
C.
It
presented
the
danger
of
MPs
to
human’s
body.
D.
It
showed
the
influences
of
MPs
on
plants.
15.
What
do
the
study
authors
think
of
the
research
on
microplastic?
A.
It
has
raised
people’s
awareness
of
health.
B.
It
wasted
them
quite
a
lot
of
time.
C.
It
needs
to
be
further
studied.
D.
It
has
attracted
people’s
attention
to
diets.

activities.
They
do
well
in
their
classes
and
feel
more
connected
to
school.
Research
shows
that
students
in
extracurricular
activities
have
better
attendance
and
grades.
Extracurricular
activities
also
help
students
make
new
friends
and
lasting
relationships.
___17___
Even
though
we
became
friends
a
long
time
ago,
we
are
still
close
today.
While
these
activities
have
many
advantages,
students
should
consider
the
downside
as
well.
___18___
Extracurricular
activities
can
be
too
much
for
students
who
do
not
practice
good
time
management.
Students
need
to
be
good
at
managing
their
time
between
different
activities.
Another
downside
to
extracurricular
activities
involves
transportation.
___19___
This
situation
limits
students’
extracurricular
choices
to
those
outside
the
school
and
closer
to
home.
A
few
of
my
classmates
joined
the
school’s
cultural
club.
They
later
discovered
that
it
met
after
school.
These
students
dropped
out
of
the
club
because
they
had
to
catch
their
buses.
Only
you
can
decide
if
extracurricular
activities
are
right
for
you.
Activities
outside
the
school
can
help
you
succeed
in
many
areas
of
your
life.
___20___
Are
you
up
for
a
challenge?
A.
I
met
my
best
friend
when
we
were
on
the
YMCA
swim
team.
B.
We
were
both
in
the
eight-and-under
age
group.
C.
Taking
part
in
extracurricular
activities
has
many
advantages.
D.
One
downside
is
that
it
can
create
a
busy
life
for
students.
E.
However,
you
need
good
time
management
skills
to
deal
with
a
busy
life.
F.
Many
students
are
tired
from
all
the
things
they
have
to
do.
G.
Some

meet
before
or

A
couple,
Peter
and
Alice,
had
a
nice
home
and
two
lovely
children,
a
boy
and
a
girl.
Peter
had
a
good
job
and
had
just
been
asked
to
go
on
a
business
trip
to
another
city
and
would
be
gone
for
several
days.
It
was
decided
that
Alice
needed
an
outing
and
would
go
along
too.
So
they
hired
a
reliable
woman
called
Mary
to
care
for
their
children
and
made
the
trip.
Days
later,
they
returned
home
a
little
earlier
than
they
had
planned.
As
they
drove
into
their
town
feeling
glad
to
be
back,
they
noticed
smoke,
so
they
went
off
their
usual
route
to
see
what
it
was.
They
found
a
house
in
flames.
Alice
said.
“Oh,
well,
it
isn’t
our
fire.
Let’s
go
home.”
But
Peter
drove
closer
and
screamed
in
surprise.
“That
house
belongs
to
Fred
Jones
who
works
in
the
same
company
with
me.
He
wouldn’t
be
off
work
yet,
maybe
there
is
something
we
can
do.”
“It
has
nothing
to
do
with
us,”
protested
(抗议)
Alice.
“You
have
your
good
clothes
on.
Let’s
not
get
any
closer.”
But
Peter
drove
up
and
stopped.
They
were
both
shocked
to
see
the
whole
house
in
flames.
A
woman
on
the
lawn
was
in
hysterics
screaming,
“The
children!
Get
the
children!”
Peter
seized
her
by
the
shoulder,
saying,
“Get
a
hold
of
yourself
and
tell
us
where
the
children
are!”
“In
the
basement,”
sobbed
the
woman,
“down
the
hall
and
to
the
left.”
In
spite
of
Alice’s
protests,
Peter
turned
on
a
tap,
used
the
water
to
wet
his
clothes,
put
his
wet
handkerchief
on
his
head
and
dashed
into
the
basement
which
was
full
of
smoke.
He
got
to
the
door
and
found
two
children.
Holding
one
under
each
arm.
Peter
headed
outside.
As
he
left,
he
could
hear
some
more
whimpering
(呜咽声).
He
delivered
the
two
badly
frightened
children
into
his
arms
and
started
back
asking
how
many
more
children
were
down
there.

In
New
Brighton,
Minnesota,
the
Bartz
brothers(Connor,
Austin,
and
Trevor)have
built
beautiful
snow
sculptures
in
their
front
yard
for
the
past
five
years.
But
they’re
not
ordinary
snowmen--they’re
huge
and
sea-themed!
The
tradition
began
in
2012,
after
a
family
fishing
trip
in
Florida,
where
Connor,
then
17,
caught
a
puffer
fish.
It
encouraged
the
boys
to
make
a
super-sized
fish
out
of
snow.
So
they
got
to
work,
collecting
as
much
snow
as
possible
from
around
their
neighborhood.
After
eight
hours
of
shoveling(用铲子铲)and
sculpting
snow
their
5-foot-tall
puffer
fish
was
complete.
And
it
was
a
big
hit!
Before
long.
the
locals
and
TV
reporters
began
stopping
by
their
front
yard
to
enjoy
their
creation.
“Each
winter,
we
decide
which
sea
animals
would
work
best
and
be
the
most
fun
to
build,”
Trevor
said.
Since
2012,
they’ve
made
a
shark,
a
turtle,
an
octopus(章鱼)and
so,
on,
Their
favorite
is
the
octopus,
which
they
built
in
2016.
It
is
their
biggest
sculpture
yet,
taking
nearly
500
hours(and
150
tons
of
snow)to
make!
The
brothers
also
made
sure
it
was
just
as
much
fun
for
visitors.
“We
liked
that
it
was
kid-friendly,
with
tentacles(触须)you
could
slide
under,”
Connor
said.
Named
by
Facebook
fans,
Octavius
the
octopus
was
a
star
appearing
on
national
news
stations.
To
make
the
most
of
their
project,
the
boys
decided
to
raise
money
for
a
good
cause.
“Given
that
our
work
is
made
from
snow,
it
made
sense
to
collect
money
to
help
provide
drinking
water
to
people
in
need,”
Austin
said.
They
teamed
up
with
One
Day’s
Wages,
an
organization
that
provides
clean
water
to
people
in
Haiti.
By
the
end
of
winter,
the
brothers
had
raised
$17,
263!
Their
advice
for
anyone
with
big
dreams:
“If
you
want
to
be
successful,
work
hard
and
have
a
good
attitude,”
Austin
said.
“Success
might
not
come
immediately.
but
take
joy
in
what
you
are
doing
now.
When
we
were
younger,
we
made
many
snow
creations
that
did
not
make
the
news,
but
we
still
had
a
pleasurable
experience!”

C
We
all
know
it
is
important
for
students
to
get
a
good
night’s
sleep
every
night.
They
aren’t
able
to
do
their
best
unless
they
sleep
well.
Most
experts
agree
that
the
proper
number
of
hours
is
eight,
and
this
has
been
accepted
as
common
sense
for
as
long
as
I
can
remember.
However,
I
was
young
once
and
I
know
that
most
of
you
get
much
less
sleep
than
that-and
sometimes
this
affects
your
schoolwork.
I
read
an
article
in
a
teachers’
magazine
recently.
They
did
a
study
of
848
students
in
a
senior
school.
Worryingly,
the
results
suggested
that
teenagers
are
facing
a
new
problem.
They
may
go
to
bed
and
get
up
at
proper
times
but
a
growing
number
wake
up
in
the
middle
of
the
night,
not
to
use
the
bathroom
or
have
a
snack
but
because
of
FOMO-the
fear
of
missing
out!
According
to
the
article,
schoolchildren
suffer
because
of
an
increasing
trend
to
wake
up
during
the
night
to
check
social
media.
Afraid
of
missing
a
message
or
chance
to
take
part
in
a
discussion,
teens
wake
up
at
all
times
of
the
night
to
go
online
and
join
up
with
social
groups.
All
this
happens
when
they
should
be
sound
asleep.
The
report
gives
some
worrying
numbers.
23%
of
12-to
15-year-olds
wake
up
nearly
every
night
to
use
social
media.
Another
15%
wake
up
at
night
once
a
week
for
the
same
reason.
As
a
result,
one
in
three
students
are
constantly
exhausted
and
unable
to
do
well
at
school.
So,
I’d
like
to
ask
you
to
be
responsible
when
it
comes
to
social
media.
Be
brave
and
turn
off
your
phones
and
computers
at
night.
The
world
won’t
end
and
your
social
media
will
be
waiting
to
greet
you
in
the
morning.
I
give
you
my
word
that
you
won’t
have
missed
anything
important.
8.

is
the
new
trend
among
teenagers?
A.

up
at
midnight
to
go
online.
C.
They

up
at

to
get
something
to

D.
They
have
difficulty
in
falling
asleep
again
at
night.
9.
According
to
the
passage,
what
is
FOMO?
A.
A
fear
of

B.
A
need
to

C

Though
you
might
think
you
were
taking
care
of
your
health
by
eating
enough
fruit
and
vegetables
every
day,
new
research
has
come
out
suggesting
that
you
might
be
swallowing
microplastic
particles(微塑科颗粒)along
with
all
those
vitamins,
minerals,
and
fibre.
A
study
published
in
the
journal
Environmental
Research
has
found
that
fruits
and
vegetables
absorb
microplastic
particles
from
the
soil
and
move
them
through
vegetal
tissues,
where
they
remain
until
eaten
by
hungry
diners,
thus
getting
transferred
to
human
bodies.
The
researchers,
who
are
from
the
University
of
Catania
in
Italy,
analyzed
a
variety
of
common
fruits
and
vegetables--carrots,
lettuce,
broccoli,
potatoes,
apples,
and
pears.
These
were
chosen
for
the
fact
that
they
are
frequently
consumed,
usually
one
per
day,
which
allowed
the
researchers
to
better
assess
the
dietary
intakes
of
MPs(microplastic
particles)and
NPs(nano-plastics).
The
samples
were
purchased
from
different
sources
in
the
city
of
Catania,
including
a
small
fruit
vendor
and
a
supermarket.
The
researchers
found
that
apples,
followed
by
pears,
were
the
most
polluted
fruit
samples,
and
carrots
were
the
most
polluted
vegetable.
In
the
study’s
discussion
section,
the
authors
wrote,
“We
can
assume
that
the
fruits
contain
more
MPs
not
only
because
of
the
very
high
vascularization(血资化)of
the
fruit
pulp(果肉)but
also
due
to
the
greater
size
and
complexity
of
the
root
system
and
age
of
the
tree(several
years)compared
to
the
vegetables(60-75
days
for
the
carrot).”
This
study
is
important
because
it’s
the
first
to
detect
microplastics
in
fruits
and
vegetables.
They
have
been
found
in
other
sources
before,
such
as
sea
salt,
beer,
water(bottled,
in
particular),
shellfish,
sugar,
soil,
and
even
air,
but
never
inside
fresh
produce.
It’s
an
alarming
discovery
that
raises
yet
another
red
flag
about
microplastic
pollution
in
the
natural
environment.
It’s
an
area
that
will
likely
see
a
lot
more
attention
in
coming
years,
with
the
study
authors
calling
for
further
research
into
the
question
of
microplastic
and
whether
it
harms
the
health
of
both
plants
and
humans.
12.
What
is
the
study
about?
A.
The
main
cause
of
soil
pollution.
B.
The
great
changes
in
people’s
diets.
C.
The
microplastic
pollution
in
fruits
and
vegetables.
D.
The
benefits
of
eating
fruits
and
vegetables.
13.
What
may
cause
fruits
to
contain
more
MPs
according
to
the
authors?
A.
The
large
amounts
of
the
fruit
pulp.
B.
The
planting
method.
C.
The
complex
preservation
method.
D.
The
long
growth
period
of
fruit
trees.
14.
What
makes
the
study
quite
special?
A.
It
discovered
MPs
in
fresh
produce
for
the
first
time.
B.
It
proved
the
source
of
microplastic
pollution
C.
It
presented
the
danger
of
MPs
to
human’s
body.
D.
It
showed
the
influences
of
MPs
on
plants.
15.
What
do
the
study
authors
think
of
the
research
on
microplastic?
A.
It
has
raised
people’s
awareness
of
health.
B.
It
wasted
them
quite
a
lot
of
time.
C.
It
needs
to
be
further
studied.
D.
It
has
attracted
people’s
attention
to
diets.

To

the

an

last
Friday.
All

took
an
active
part
in
it.
The
playground
and
the
classrooms
were
cleaned
to
look
tidy
and
the
trees
and
the
flowers
were
watered
so
that
they
could
grow
better.
Also,
students
were
encouraged
to
collect
old
newspapers
and
books,
as
well
as
used

which
were

and
recycled.
Additionally,

阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
A
couple,
Peter
and
Alice,
had
a
nice
home
and
two
lovely
children,
a
boy
and
a
girl.
Peter
had
a
good
job
and
had
just
been
asked
to
go
on
a
business
trip
to
another
city
and
would
be
gone
for
several
days.
It
was
decided
that
Alice
needed
an
outing
and
would
go
along
too.
So
they
hired
a
reliable
woman
called
Mary
to
care
for
their
children
and
made
the
trip.
Days
later,
they
returned
home
a
little
earlier
than
they
had
planned.
As
they
drove
into
their
town
feeling
glad
to
be
back,
they
noticed
smoke,
so
they
went
off
their
usual
route
to
see
what
it
was.
They
found
a
house
in
flames.
Alice
said.
“Oh,
well,
it
isn’t
our
fire.
Let’s
go
home.”
But
Peter
drove
closer
and
screamed
in
surprise.
“That
house
belongs
to
Fred
Jones
who
works
in
the
same
company
with
me.
He
wouldn’t
be
off
work
yet,
maybe
there
is
something
we
can
do.”
“It
has
nothing
to
do
with
us,”
protested
(抗议)
Alice.
“You
have
your
good
clothes
on.
Let’s
not
get
any
closer.”
But
Peter
drove
up
and
stopped.
They
were
both
shocked
to
see
the
whole
house
in
flames.
A
woman
on
the
lawn
was
in
hysterics
screaming,
“The
children!
Get
the
children!”
Peter
seized
her
by
the
shoulder,
saying,
“Get
a
hold
of
yourself
and
tell
us
where
the
children
are!”
“In
the
basement,”
sobbed
the
woman,
“down
the
hall
and
to
the
left.”
In
spite
of
Alice’s
protests,
Peter
turned
on
a
tap,
used
the
water
to
wet
his
clothes,
put
his
wet
handkerchief
on
his
head
and
dashed
into
the
basement
which
was
full
of
smoke.
He
got
to
the
door
and
found
two
children.
Holding
one
under
each
arm.
Peter
headed
outside.
As
he
left,
he
could
hear
some
more
whimpering
(呜咽声).
He
delivered
the
two
badly
frightened
children
into
his
arms
and
started
back
asking
how
many
more
children
were
down
there.

【答案】One
possible
version:
Paragraph
1:
The
woman
told
him
there
were
two
more.
Knowing
that
Peter
was
ready
to
dash
into
the
basement
again,
Alice
screamed,
“Peter!
Don't
go
back!
It's
dangerous!”
However,
Peter
went
back
to
the
basement
by
feeling
his
way
down
the
smoke
and
into
the
room.
It
was
after
what
seemed
like
a
century
that
he
finally
found
both
children
and
started
back.
Paragraph
2:
At
that
moment,
Peter
seemed
to
feel
something
familiar
in
his
arms.
As
he
climbed
up
the
endless
steps,
the
feeling
became
much
stronger.
Considering
they
would
be
trapped
in
the
fire,
Peter
made
all
his
efforts
to
get
out.
Fortunately,
Peter
was
finally
safe
with
the
two
children.
To
his
great
surprise,
the
children
he
had
just
rescued
were
his
own
kids.
Realizing
what
had
happened,
Alice
ran
to
them
in
tears
and
the
whole
family
hugged
together.
It
turned
out
later
that
Mary
asked
the
woman
to
look
after
the
two
kids
while
she
was
shopping.
