Danny and Brian are babysitting Danny's cousin Debbie. First, Debbie is on monkey bars. Danny says “Hold on. Don't .” Then Debbie plays on the swings . Brain wants to give her a , but she wants Danny to. At last, Debbie

1. Hold on, Debbie!
①hold on 抓住; 抓紧
eg:Hold on to the rope, or you will fall off.
抓紧绳子,否则你会摔下去的。
② hold on 意为“抓住;抓紧”。表示“紧紧抓住某物”时其后要加介词to。
eg:He told me to hold on to the bar.

③hold on 还可表示“(在困境或危险中)坚持住”。

4. She gets off the swing.
get off 下来;从……上下来。其反义词是get on。E.g.:

Danny wrote in his diary about his day as a babysitter. Put the paragraphs in the correct order.
Dear Diary,
( 1 ) I woke up before the sun rose this morning. Today I would be a babysitter! I thought about it all day at school.
(  ) Next, I pushed her on the swing. Brian wanted to give her a push, but Debbie said no. She loves her big cousin!

(  ) First, Debbie climbed up very high. I was scared that she would hurt herself, but she held on well.
(  ) I can’t write any more tonight. I’m too tired. Anyway, it was a good day.
