同位语从句与定语从
(?http:?/??/?www.21cnjy.com?)句的比较.
定语从句是形容词性的从句,
它与先行词是修饰与被修饰的关系。同位语从句是名词性从句,是对前面名词作进一步补充性解释。
试比较:
1.The
news
that
we
won
the
game
is
exciting.
(同位语从句)
that从句是对“消息”的内容的具体说明补充:“我们赢得了比赛”。
2.The
news
that
he
told
me
is
surprising.
(定语从句)
that
从句是对“消息”的限定修饰:“他告诉我的消息”。消息的内容不得而知。
易错警示
that引导同位语从句和
(?http:?/??/?www.21cnjy.com?)定语从句的区别:that引导定语从句时,that既起引导词的作用,又在从句中充当句子成分;如果在从句中作宾语that还可以省略,所修饰的名词指物时可用which替换。引导同位语从句时,that在从句中不充当任何句子成分,不能省略。
名词性从句与语法填空
1.首先确定空格处所在从
(?http:?/??/?www.21cnjy.com?)句是否为名词性从句。然后分析从句在整个句中所充当的成分,确定从句所属类型:主语从句、宾语从句、表语从句还是同位语从句。
2.判断从句中的连接词。
(1)若从句不缺少成分则要考虑句意是否完整,若句意不完整,则需用whether/if;若句意完整,则用that。
(2)若从句缺少主、宾或表语,则用连接代词。
(3)若从句缺少状语,则用连接副词。
另外,还需注意一些特殊的引导词(如whether,because,as
if
等)的用法
?主语从句
1.主语从句的引导词
连接词
that,whether,if
只起连接作用,不在从句中作成分
连接代词
what,who,whom,which,whichever,whatever,whoever
在从句中作主语、宾语、表语或定语
连接副词

在从句中作状语

Most
fashion
magazine
(?http:?/??/?www.21cnjy.com?)s
or
TV
advertisements
try
to
persuade
us
that
we
should
dress
in
a
certain
way
or
behave
in
a
certain
manner.
If
we
do,
they
tell
us,
we
will
be
able
to
meet
new
people
with
confidence
and
deal
with
every
situation
without
___(42)___.
Changing
fashion,
of
course,
does
not
apply
just
to
dress.
A
barber
today
does
not
cut
a
boy's
hair
in
the
same
way
as
he
used
to,
and
girls
do
not
make
up
in
the
same
way
as
their
mothers
and
grandmothers
did.
The
advertisers
show
us
the
latest
___(43)___
styles
and
we
are
___(44)___
under
pressure
to
follow
the
fashion
in
case
our
friends
think
we
are
odd
or
dull.
What
causes
fashions
to
change?
Sometimes
convenience
or
practical
necessity
or
just
the
fancy
of
an
influential
person
can
___(45)___
a
fashion.
Take
hats,
for
example.
In
cold
climates,
early
buildings
were
cold
inside,
so
people
wore
hats
indoors
as
well
as
outside.
In
recent
times,
the
late
President
Kennedy
caused
a(n)
___(46)___
in
the
American
hat
industry
by
not
wearing
hats:
more
American
men
followed
his
example.
Today,
society
is
much
freer
and
easier
than
it
used
to
be.
It
is
no
longer
necessary
to
dress
like
everyone
else.
Within
reason,
you
can
dress
as
you
like
or
do
your
hair
the
way
you
like
instead
of
the
way
you
should
because
it
is
the
fashion.
The
___(47)___
of
jeans
and
the
"untidy"
look
seems
to
be
a
reaction
against
the
increasingly
expensive
fashions
of
the
top
fashion
houses.
At
the
same
time,
a
(?http:?/??/?www.21cnjy.com?)ppearance
is
still
important
in
certain
circumstances
and
then
we
must
choose
our
clothes
___(48)___.
It
would
be
foolish
to
go
to
an
interview
for
a
job
in
a
law
firm
wearing
jeans
and
a
sweater;
and
it
would
be
___(49)___
to
visit
some
distinguished
scholar
looking
as
if
we
were
going
to
the
beach
or
a
night
club.
However,
you
need
never
feel
___(50)___
if
you
don't
look
like
the
latest
fashion
photo.
Look
around
you
and
you'll
see
that
no
one
else
does
either!

Acting
is
su
(?http:?/??/?www.21cnjy.com?)ch
an
over-crowded
profession
that
the
only
advice
that
should
be
given
to
a
young
person
thinking
of
going
on
the
stage
is
“Don’t!”.
But
it
is
useless
to
try
to
discourage
someone
who
feels
that
he
must
act,
though
the
chances
of
his
becoming
famous
are
slim.
The
normal
way
to
begin
is
to
go
to
a
drama
school.
Usually
only
students
who
show
promise
and
talent
are
accepted,
and
the
course
lasts
two
years.
Then
the
young
actor
or
actress
takes
up
work
with
a
repertory
company,
usually
as
an
assistant
stage
manager.
This
means
doing
everything
that
there
is
to
do
in
the
theatre:
painting
scenery,
looking
after
the
furniture,
taking
care
of
the
costumes,
and
even
acting
in
very
small
parts.
It
is
very
hard
work
indeed.
The
hours
are
long
and
the
salary
is
tiny.
But
young
actors
with
the
stage
in
their
blood
are
happy,
waiting
for
the
chances
of
working
with
a
better
company,
or
perhaps
in
films
or
television.
Of
course,
some
people
have
unusual
chances
which
lead
to
fame
and
success
without
this
long
and
dull
training.
Connie
Pratt,
for
example,
was
just
an
ordinary
girl
working
in
a
bicycle
factory.
A
film
producer
happened
to
catch
sight
of
her
one
morning
waiting
at
a
bus
stop,
as
he
drove
past
in
his
big
car.
He
told
the
driver
to
stop,
and
he
got
out
to
speak
to
the
girl.
He
asked
her
if
she
would
like
to
go
to
the
film
studio
to
do
a
test,
and
at
first
she
thought
he
was
joking.
Then
she
got
angry
and
said
she
would
call
the
police.
It
took
the
producer
twenty
minutes
to
tell
Connie
that
he
was
serious.
Then
an
appointment
was
made
for
her
to
go
to
the
studio
the
next
day.
The
test
was
successful.
They
gave
her
some
necessary
lessons
and
within
a
few
weeks
she
was
playing
the
leading
part
opposite
one
of
the
most
famous
actors
of
the
day.
Of
Course,
she
was
given
a
more
dramatic
name,
which
is
now
world-famous.
But
chances
like
this
happen
once
in
a
blue
moon!

The
gift
of
be
(?http:?/??/?www.21cnjy.com?)ing
able
to
describe
a
face
accurately
is
a
rare
one,
as
every
experienced
police
officer
knows
to
his
cost.
As
the
Lancet
put
it
recently,
“When
we
try
to
describe
faces
precisely,
words
fail
us,
and
we
resort
to
identikit
(拼脸型图)
procedures.”
Yet,
according
(?http:?/??/?www.21cnjy.com?)
to
one
authority
on
the
subject,
we
can
each
probably
recognize
more
than
1,000
faces,
the
majority
of
which
differ
in
fine
details.
This,
when
one
comes
to
think
of
it,
is
a
tremendous
feat,
though,
curiously
enough,
relatively
little
attention
has
been
devoted
to
the
fundamental
problems
of
how
and
why
we
acquire
this
gift
for
recognizing
and
remembering
faces.
Is
it
an
inborn
property
of
our
brains,
or
an
acquired
one?
As
so
often
happens,
the
experts
tend
to
differ.
Thus,
some
argue
(?http:?/??/?www.21cnjy.com?)that
it
is
inborn,
and
that
there
are
“special
characteristics
about
the
brain’s
ability
to
distinguish
faces”.
In
support
of
this,
they
note
how
much
better
we
are
at
recognizing
a
face
after
a
single
encounter
than
we
are,
for
example,
in
recognizing
an
individual
horse.
On
the
other
hand,
there
are
those,
and
they
are
probably
in
the
majority,
who
claim
that
the
gift
is
an
acquired
one.
The
arguments
in
(?http:?/??/?www.21cnjy.com?)
favor
of
this
latter
view,
it
must
be
confessed,
are
impressive.
It
is
a
habit
that
is
acquired
soon
after
birth.
Watch,
for
instance,
how
a
quite
young
baby
recognizes
his
mother
by
sight.
Granted
that
his
other
senses
help

the
sound,
his
sense
of
smell,
the
distinctive
way
she
handles
him.
But
of
all
these,
sight
is
predominant.
Formed
at
the
very
beginning
of
life,
the
ability
to
recognize
faces
quickly
becomes
an
established
habit,
and
one
that
is,
essential
for
daily
living,
if
not
necessarily
for
survival.
How
essential
and
valuable
it
is
we
probably
do
not
appreciate
until
we
encounter
people
who
have
been
deprived
of
the
faculty.
This
unfortunate
inabi
(?http:?/??/?www.21cnjy.com?)lity
to
recognize
familiar
faces
is
known
to
all,
but
such
people
can
often
recognize
individuals
by
their
voices,
their
walking
manners
or
their
spectacles.
With
typical
human
ingenuity,
many
of
these
unfortunate
people
overcome
their
handicap
by
recognizing
other
characteristic
features.

同位语从句与定语从句的比较.
(?http:?/??/?www.21cnjy.com?)
定语从句是形容词性的从句,
它与先行词是修饰与被修饰的关系。同位语从句是名词性从句,是对前面名词作进一步补充性解释。
试比较:
1.The
news
that
we
won
the
game
is
exciting.
(同位语从句)【出处:21教育名师】
that从句是对“消息”的内容的具体说明补充:“我们赢得了比赛”。
2.The
news
that
he
told
me
is
surprising.
(定语从句)【版权所有:21教育】
that
从句是对“消息”的限定修饰:“他告诉我的消息”。消息的内容不得而知。
易错警示
that引导同位语从句和
(?http:?/??/?www.21cnjy.com?)定语从句的区别:that引导定语从句时,that既起引导词的作用,又在从句中充当句子成分;如果在从句中作宾语that还可以省略,所修饰的名词指物时可用which替换。引导同位语从句时,that在从句中不充当任何句子成分,不能省略。
名词性从句与语法填空
1.首先确定空格处所在从句是否为名词性从句
(?http:?/??/?www.21cnjy.com?)。然后分析从句在整个句中所充当的成分,确定从句所属类型:主语从句、宾语从句、表语从句还是同位语从句。
2.判断从句中的连接词。
(1)若从句不缺少成分则要考虑句意是否完整,若句意不完整,则需用whether/if;若句意完整,则用that。21

com
(2)若从句缺少主、宾或表语,则用连接代词。
(3)若从句缺少状语,则用连接副词。
另外,还需注意一些特殊的引导词(如whether,because,as
if
等)的用法
?主语从句
1.主语从句的引导词
连接词
that,whether,if
只起连接作用,不在从句中作成分
连接代词
what,who,whom,which,whichever,whatever,whoever
在从句中作主语、宾语、表语或定语

3.宾语从句的时态
一般情况下,宾语从句须与主
(?http:?/??/?www.21cnjy.com?)句的时态保持一致,即当主句是一般现在时时,从句可根据具体情况选用合适的时态;当主句为过去的某种时态时,从句须用相应的过去的某种时态。当从句的内容为真理或客观事实时,须用一般现在时。

Acting
is
(?http:?/??/?www.21cnjy.com?)such
an
over-crowded
profession
that
the
only
advice
that
should
be
given
to
a
young
person
thinking
of
going
on
the
stage
is
“Don’t!”.
But
it
is
useless
to
try
to
discourage
someone
who
feels
that
he
must
act,
though
the
chances
of
his
becoming
famous
are
slim.
The
normal
way
to
begin
is
to
go
to
a
drama
school.
Usually
only
students
who
show
promise
and
talent
are
accepted,
and
the
course
lasts
two
years.
Then
the
young
actor
or
actress
takes
up
work
with
a
repertory
company,
usually
as
an
assistant
stage
manager.
This
means
doing
everything
that
there
is
to
do
in
the
theatre:
painting
scenery,
looking
after
the
furniture,
taking
care
of
the
costumes,
and
even
acting
in
very
small
parts.
It
is
very
hard
work
indeed.
The
hours
are
long
and
the
salary
is
tiny.
But
young
actors
with
the
stage
in
their
blood
are
happy,
waiting
for
the
chances
of
working
with
a
better
company,
or
perhaps
in
films
or
television.
www.21-cn-jy.com
Of
course,
some
people
have
unusual
chances
which
lead
to
fame
and
success
without
this
long
and
dull
training.
Connie
Pratt,
for
example,
was
just
an

girl

factory.
A
film
producer
happened
to
catch
sight
of
her
one
morning
waiting
at
a
bus
stop,
as
he
drove
past
in
his
big
car.
He
told
the
driver
to
stop,
and
he
got
out
to
speak
to
the
girl.
He
asked
her
if
she
would
like
to
go
to
the
film
studio
to
do
a
test,
and
at
first
she
thought
he
was
joking.
Then
she
got
angry
and
said
she
would
call
the
police.
It
took
the
producer
twenty
minutes
to
tell
Connie
that
he
was
serious.
Then
an
appointment
was
made
for
her
to
go
to
the
studio
the
next
day.
The
test
was
successful.
They
gave
her
some
necessary
lessons
and
within
a
few
weeks
she
was
playing
the
leading
part
opposite
one
of
the
most
famous
actors
of
the
day.
Of
Course,
she
was
given
a
more

which
is
now
world-famous.
But

(C)
The
gift
of
being
(?http:?/??/?www.21cnjy.com?)able
to
describe
a
face
accurately
is
a
rare
one,
as
every
experienced
police
officer
knows
to
his
cost.
As
the
Lancet
put
it
recently,
“When
we
try
to
describe
faces
precisely,
words
fail
us,
and
we
resort
to
identikit
(拼脸型图)
procedures.”
Yet,
according
t
(?http:?/??/?www.21cnjy.com?)o
one
authority
on
the
subject,
we
can
each
probably
recognize
more
than
1,000
faces,
the
majority
of
which
differ
in
fine
details.
This,
when
one
comes
to
think
of
it,
is
a
tremendous
feat,
though,
curiously
enough,
relatively
little
attention
has
been
devoted
to
the
fundamental
problems
of
how
and
why
we
acquire
this
gift
for
recognizing
and
remembering
faces.
Is
it
an
inborn
property
of
our
brains,
or
an
acquired
one?
As
so
often
happens,
the
experts
tend
to
differ.
Thus,
some
a
(?http:?/??/?www.21cnjy.com?)rgue
that
it
is
inborn,
and
that
there
are
“special
characteristics
about
the
brain’s
ability
to
distinguish
faces”.
In
support
of
this,
they
note
how
much
better
we
are
at
recognizing
a
face
after
a
single
encounter
than
we
are,
for
example,
in
recognizing
an
individual
horse.
On
the
other
hand,
there
are
those,
and
they
are
probably
in
the
majority,
who
claim
that
the
gift
is
an
acquired
one.
The
arguments
(?http:?/??/?www.21cnjy.com?)
in
favor
of
this
latter
view,
it
must
be
confessed,
are
impressive.
It
is
a
habit
that
is
acquired
soon
after
birth.
Watch,
for
instance,
how
a
quite
young
baby
recognizes
his
mother
by
sight.
Granted
that
his
other
senses
help

the
sound,
his
sense
of
smell,
the
distinctive
way
she
handles
him.
But
of
all
these,
sight
is
predominant.
Formed
at
the
very
beginning
of
life,
the
ability
to
recognize
faces
quickly
becomes
an
established
habit,
and
one
that
is,
essential
for
daily
living,
if
not
necessarily
for
survival.
How
essential
and
valuable
it
is
we
probably
do
not
appreciate
until
we
encounter
people
who
have
been
deprived
of
the
faculty.
This
unfortunate
(?http:?/??/?www.21cnjy.com?)inability
to
recognize
familiar
faces
is
known
to
all,
but
such
people
can
often
recognize
individuals
by
their
voices,
their
walking
manners
or
their
spectacles.
With
typical
human
ingenuity,
many
of
these
unfortunate
people
overcome
their
handicap
by
recognizing
other
characteristic
features.
