Good
evening.
You
are
listening
to
Pop
World
of
BCD
International.
I’m
Susan.
Well,
?first,
I
would
like
to
say
a
few
words
to
my
dear
listeners
who
are
not
very
familiar
with
this
programme.
Since
many
people
want
to
listen
to
and
understand
pop
songs,
radio
producers
at
BCD
International
have
made
hundreds
of
programs
over
the
years.
We
not
only
have
access
to
the
stars
of
the
music
world,
but
we
also
have
a
large
library
of
“golden
oldie”
classics,
as
well
as
the
“latest
releases”.
?For
those
of
you
who
like
a
bit
of
background
with
your
favourite
music—there’s
The
History
of
PO

The

Music.
?If
you
want
to
hear
from
the
artists
themselves,
there’s
a
new
series
called
About
the
Big
Hits.
This
is
based
on
interviews
with
popular
singers
and
songwriters.
If
you
want
to
understand
the
words
to
the
big
music
hits,
Pop
Words
is
the
programme
for
you.
After
all,
?it’s
hard
enough
for
native
English
speakers
to
understand
most
pop
songs—so,
if
English
isn’t
your
first
language,
you
shouldn’t
be
surprised
if
the
words
of
many
songs
leave
you
in
the
dark.
17.
What
did
the
speaker
do
at
the
beginning
of
the
programme?
A.
She
played
a
new
record.
B.
She
described
some
singers.
C.
She
introduced
the
programme.
答案:
C
18.
What
should
you
listen
to
if
you
want
to
hear
from
the
artists
themselves?
A.
About
the
Big

    B.
The
History
of
Pop.
C.

C.
Providing

A
Animal
Conservation
Many
animal
and
plant
species
have
become
extinct
and
many
more
are
in
critical
danger.
Finding
ways
to
protect
the
earth’s
wildlife
and
conserve
the
natural
world
they
inhabit(居住)
is
now
more
important
than
ever.
Dodos
The
dodo
is
a
classic
example
of
how
human
caused
damage
to
the
earth’s
biology.
The
flightless
dodo
was
native
to
the
Island
of
Mauritius
in
the
Indian
Ocean.
It
lived
on
fruit
fallen
from
the
island’s
trees
and
lived
unthreatened
until
humans
arrived
in
1505.
The
easily
controlled
bird
became
a
source
of
food
for
sailors
and
was
attacked
by
animals
introduced
to
the
island
by
humans
such
as
pigs,
monkeys
and
rats.
The
population
of
dodos
rapidly
decreased
and
the
last
one
was
killed
in
1681.
Rhinos
(犀牛)
The
rhino
horn
is
a
highly
prized
item
for
Asian
medicine.
This
has
led
to
the
animal
being
hunted
in
its
natural
habitat.
Once
widespread
in
Africa
and
Eurasia,
most
rhinos
now
live
in
protected
natural
parks
and
reserves.
Their
numbers
have
rapidly
decreased
in
the
last
50
years,
and
the
animals
remain
under
constant
threat
from
poachers.
The

is
far
from
certain.
As
few

in
the
world.
The
Chinese
government
has
set
up
33
panda
reserves
to
protect
these
beautiful
animals
and
made
poaching
them
punishable
with
20
years
in
prison.
However,
the
panda’s
distinct
black
and
white
patched
coat
fetches
a
high
price
on
the
black
market
and
determined
poachers
still
pose(造成)
one
of
the
most
serious
threats
to
the
animals’
continued
existence.
Tigers
The
last
100
years
has
seen
a
95%
reduction
in
the
numbers
of
remaining
tigers
to
between
5,
000
and
7,
000
and
the
Bali,
Javan,
and
Caspian
tiger
are
already
extinct.
The
South
China
tiger
is
precariously
close
to
disappearing,
with
only
20
to
30
still
alive.
Like
the
rhino
horn,
tigers’
bones
and
organs
are
sought
after
for
traditional
Chinese
medicines.
These
items
are
traded
illegally
along
with
tiger
skins.

When
baby
turtles
first
come
out
of
eggs,
they
head
to
the
sea
by
nature.
The
beach
surface
goes
down,
which
is
one
directional
clue
they
follow.
Another
is
light:
The
horizon
(地平线)

the

is
brighter
than
the
horizon

But
lights
from
towns
and
beach

can
confuse
the

The

can
mislead
them
to

And
particularly
bright

draw
them

the

swim
for
about
a
day
to
get
to
their
destination
in
the
sea.
In
a
normal
trip
from
nests
to
waves,
the
babies
build
up
chemicals
that
show
they
have
been
pushing
themselves.
Some
researchers
took
the
baby
turtles
to
a
lab,
where
they
ran
on
a
treadmill
and
swam
in
a
tank
while
their
blood
and
breathing
were
monitored.
The
finding
is
surprising:
even
after
hours
of
crawling,
the
turtles
were
fine
by
all
measures
and
swam
as
well
as
turtles
that
didn’t
have
an
extra
crawling
period.
The
reason
is
that
they
often
stop
while
crawling
if
they
are
doing
U
for
a
long
time,
unlike
the
disturbed
trip
they
make
when
heading
straight
to
the
water.
So
misled
turtles
are
not
worn
out.
But
the
misleading
lights
are
still
a
problem
for
the
babies.
The
longer
they
spend
on
the
beach
wandering,
the
more
they
are
exposed
to
natural
enemies.
They
can
also
end
up
losing
their
lives
in
the
heat
of
the
sun.

Good
evening.
You
are
listening
to
Pop

of
BCD
International.
I’m
Susan.
Well,
?first,
I
would
like
to
say
a
few
words
to
my
dear
listeners
who
are
not
very
familiar
with
this
programme.
Since
many
people
want
to
listen
to
and
understand
pop
songs,
radio
producers
at
BCD
International
have
made
hundreds
of
programs
over
the
years.
We
not
only
have
access
to
the
stars
of
the
music
world,
but
we
also
have
a
large
library
of
“golden
oldie”
classics,
as
well
as
the
“latest
releases”.
?For
those
of
you
who
like
a
bit
of
background
with
your
favourite
music—there’s
The
History
of
PO
or
The
Road
to
Music.
?If
you
want
to
hear
from
the
artists
themselves,
there’s
a
new
series
called
About
the
Big
Hits.
This
is
based
on
interviews
with
popular
singers
and
songwriters.
If
you
want
to
understand
the
words
to
the
big
music
hits,
Pop
Words
is
the
programme
for
you.
After
all,
?it’s
hard
enough
for
native
English
speakers
to
understand
most
pop
songs—so,
if
English
isn’t
your
first
language,
you
shouldn’t
be
surprised
if
the
words
of
many
songs
leave
you
in
the
dark.
17.
What
did
the
speaker
do
at
the
beginning
of
the
programme?
A.
She
played
a
new
record.
B.
She
described
some
singers.
C.
She
introduced
the
programme.
18.
What
should
you
listen
to
if
you
want
to
hear
from
the

themselves?
A.
About
the

    B.

C.

19.
What
is
the
programme
The
Road

intended
for?
A.
Introducing
new
songwriters.
B.
Hearing
from
listeners’
opinions.
C.
Providing
the

with
music.
20.
Which
is
important
to

Animal
Conservation
Many
animal
and
plant
species
have
become
extinct
and
many
more
are
in
critical
danger.
Finding
ways
to
protect
the
earth’s
wildlife
and
conserve
the
natural
world
they
inhabit(居住)
is
now
more
important
than
ever.
Dodos
The
dodo
is
a
classic
example
of
how
human
caused
damage
to
the
earth’s
biology.
The
flightless
dodo
was
native
to
the
Island
of
Mauritius
in
the
Indian
Ocean.
It
lived
on
fruit
fallen
from
the
island’s
trees
and
lived
unthreatened
until
humans
arrived
in
1505.
The
easily
controlled
bird
became
a
source
of
food
for
sailors
and
was
attacked
by
animals
introduced
to
the
island
by
humans
such
as
pigs,
monkeys
and
rats.
The
population
of
dodos
rapidly
decreased
and
the
last
one
was
killed
in
1681.
Rhinos
(犀牛)
The
rhino
horn
is
a
highly
prized
item
for
Asian
medicine.
This
has
led
to
the
animal
being
hunted
in
its
natural
habitat.
Once
widespread
in
Africa
and
Eurasia,
most
rhinos
now
live
in
protected
natural
parks
and
reserves.
Their
numbers
have
rapidly
decreased
in
the

50

and
the

from

the

and
7,
000
and

extinct.
The
South
China

is
precariously
close
to
disappearing,
with
only
20

alive.
Like
the
rhino

tigers’
bones

organs
are
sought
after
for
traditional
Chinese

These

A.
The

B
(2020·潍坊高二检测)
When
baby
turtles
first
come
out
of
eggs,
they
head
to
the
sea
by
nature.
The
beach
surface
goes
down,
which
is
one
directional
clue
they
follow.
Another
is
light:
The
horizon
(地平线)
over
the
sea
is
brighter
than
the
horizon
over
land.
But
lights
from
towns
and
beach
developments
can
confuse
the
baby
turtles.
The
sky
shining
above
a
city
can
mislead
them
to
wander.
And
particularly
bright
lights
can
draw
them
away
from
the
sea.
You’d
think
the
extra
time
crawling
(爬行)
might
wear
out
baby
turtles,
which
need
energy
once
they
get
in
the
water
to
swim
for
about
a
day
to
get
to
their
destination
in
the
sea.
In
a
normal
trip
from
nests
to
waves,
the
babies
build
up
chemicals
that
show
they
have
been
pushing
themselves.
Some
researchers
took
the
baby
turtles
to
a
lab,
where
they
ran
on
a
treadmill
and
swam
in
a
tank
while
their
blood
and
breathing
were
monitored.
The
finding
is
surprising:
even
after
hours
of
crawling,
the
turtles
were
fine
by
all
measures
and
swam
as
well
as
turtles
that
didn’t
have
an
extra
crawling
period.
The
reason
is
that
they
often
stop
while
crawling
if
they
are
doing
U
for
a
long
time,
unlike
the
disturbed
trip
they
make
when
heading
straight
to
the
water.
So
misled
turtles
are
not
worn
out.
But
the
misleading
lights
are
still
a
problem
for
the
babies.
The
longer
they
spend
on
the
beach
wandering,
the
more
they
are
exposed
to
natural
enemies.
They
can
also
end
up
losing
their
lives
in
the
heat
of
the
sun.
24.
What
attracts
the
baby
turtles
away
from
the
sea?
A.
Bright
lights.
     B.
Vast
beaches.
C.
Buildings
in
cities.
D.
Noises
from
towns.
25.
What
does
the
underlined
word
“they”
refer
to
in
paragraph
3?
A.
Chemicals.
B.
Nests.
C.
Waves.
D.
Baby
turtles.
26.
Why
don’t
the
baby
turtles
feel
exhausted
after
long
crawling?
A.
They
travel
by
night.
B.
Their
trip
is
undisturbed.
C.
They
take
frequent
breaks.
D.
They
are
refreshed
by
city
lights.
27.
What
may
happen
to
the
baby
turtles
exposed
to
misleading
lights?
A.
They
are
in
great
danger.
B.
They
avoid
their
natural
enemies.
C.
They
will
wander
on
the
beach
for
a
while.
D.
They
are
more
likely
to
find
the
destination.

28.
Why
are
some
bird
species

affected?
A.
They
can’t
find
enough
food
and
water.
B.
They
lose
many
proper

D.
They
become
ill
easily
because
of
other
animals’
death.
29.

improve
the
serious
situation?
A.
Building
fences
between
the
park

D
  With
only
about
1,
000
pandas
left
in
the
world,
China
is
desperately
trying
to
clone
(克隆)
the
animal
and
save
the
endangered
species
(物种).
That’s
a
move
similar
to
what
a
Texas
A
&
M
University
researchers
have
been
undertaking
for
the
past
five
years
in
a
project
called
“Noah’s
Ark”.
Noah’s
Ark
is
aimed
at
collecting
eggs,
embryos(胚胎),
semen
and
DNA
of
endangered
animals
and
storing
them
in
liquid
nitrogen.
If
certain
species
should
become
extinct,
Dr.
Duane
Kraemer,
a
professor
in
Texas
A
&
M’s
College
of
Veterinary
Medicine,
says
there
would
be
enough
of
the
basic
building
blocks
to
reintroduce
the
species
in
the
future.
It
is
estimated
that
as
many
as
2,
000
species
of
mammals,
birds
reptiles
will
become
extinct
in
over
100
years.
The
panda,
native
only
to
China,
is
in
danger
of
becoming
extinct
in
the
next
25
years.
This
week,
Chinese
scientists
said
they
grew
an
embryo
by
introducing
cells
from
a
dead
female
panda
into
the
egg
cells
of
a
Japanese
white
rabbit.
They
are
now
trying
to
implant
the
embryo
into
a
host
animal.
The
entire
procedure
could
take
from
three
to
five
years
to
complete.
“The
nuclear
transfer
(核子移植)
of
one
species
to
another
is
not
easy,
and
the
lack
of
available
(capable
of
being
used)
panda
eggs
could
be
a
major
problem,

Kraemer
believes.
“They
will
probably
have
to
do
several
hundred
transfers
to
result
in
one
pregnancy
(having
a
baby).
It
takes
a
long
time
and
is
difficult,
but
this
could
be
groundbreaking
science
if
it
works.
They
are
certainly
not
putting
any
live
pandas
at
risk,
so
it
is
worth
the
effort,

adds
Kraemer,
who
is
one
of
the
leaders
of
the
Project
at
Texas
A
&
M,
the
first-ever
attempt
at
cloning
a
dog.
“They
are
trying
to
do
something
that’s
never
been
done,
and
this
is
very
similar
to
our
work
in
Noah’s
Ark.
We’re
both
trying
to
save
animals
that
face
extinction.
I
certainly
appreciate
their
effort
and
there’s
a
lot
we
can
learn
from
what
they
are
attempting
to
do.
It’s
a
research
that
is
very
much
needed.

32.
The
aim
of
“Noah’s

project
is
to

?
A.
make
efforts
to

B.
save

C.

33.
According
to
Professor

the
major
problem
in
cloning

would
be
the
lack
of
______.
?
A.
available
panda
eggs
B.

C.

D.

根据短文内容,
从短文后的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项,
选项中有两项为多余选项。
Penguins
are
flightless
birds
that
spend
half
their
time
on
land
and
half
in
the
water.
 36 They
have
dark
and
white
feathers,
and
their
wings
have
evolved
into
flippers(脚蹼).
Most
penguins
feed
on
fish,
squid
and
other
forms
of
sea
life
caught
while
swimming.
?
 37
They
are
mostly
found
in
groups
that
include
thousands
of
penguins.
Penguins
each
have
their
own
unique
mating
call,
and
they
use
that
to
locate
their
mates
and
chicks
in
such
a
large
group.
?
Although
almost
all
penguin
species
are
native
to
the
Southern
Hemisphere,
they
are
not
found
only
in
cold
Antarctica.
 38
Several
species
are
even
found
in
the
temperate
zone,
and
one
species,
the
Gal?tpagos
penguin,
lives
near
the
equator(赤道).
?
Unfortunately,
many
penguin
species
worldwide
are
facing
threats.
The
biggest
is
climate
change
and
global
warming.
As
the
earth
warms
up,
the
sheets
of
ice
have
melted,
and
the
algae(藻类)that
grow
under
the
ice
decrease.
The
algae
are
eaten
by
tiny
creatures
called
zooplankton.
When
there
is
a
drop
in
zooplankton,
it
affects
the
fish
that
depend
on
it.
 39 ?
Another
major
threat
is
from
oil
spills.
If
coated
with
oil,
penguins
cannot
float
or
swim
in
water.
Also,
if
oil
is
swallowed,
penguins
will
die
from
poison.
 40 ?
A.
These
birds
are
very
social.
B.
In
fact,
only
a
few
of
them
live
so
far
south.
C.
Penguins
are
highly
adapted
for
life
in
the
water.
D.
The
biggest
threat
for
penguins
comes
from
humans.
E.
They
have
a
tendency
to
live
in
a
community
together.
F.
As
a
result,
penguins
have
less
fish
to
eat
and
thus
starve.
G.
Others
include
overfishing,
illegal
egg
harvesting,
and
natural
enemies.
