Step1. Pre-listening(8min)
Activity1: Greeting and words game
T greets Ss and gives a video. Then have a words game.
T: Good afternoon boys and girls. What’s the date today?
Ss: It’s April 24.
T: Yes, it’s April 24. So it’s late spring now. How do you feel? Do you feel cool?
Ss: Yes.
T: Yes, I feel cool too. Do you know: Why do you feel cool today?
Ss: Because there are many clouds in the sky.
T: Yes, so what’s the weather like today?
Ss: It’s cloudy.
T: Yes, It’s cloudy day. Today, our topic is about weather. Before our class, let’s have a words game! Please look and listen carefully. You should answer my questions.

Activity 2: Look and say
T shows different pictures about weather and asks Ss to choose right words in the sentences.
T: Now, the whole class. Please look at the pictures, and choose the right words into the blank, OK?

T:Look, it’s a sun. Sun-sunny, read after me. Sun-sunny.
Ss: Sun-sunny.
T&Ss: Look at the sun. It’s sunny day.
T: Good! XXX, look at the cloud.
S1: It’s cloudy today. .
T: Yes, it’s cloudy today. Read after me, cloud-cloudy.
Ss: cloud-cloudy.
T: It’s cloudy today. Now, it is raining.
Ss: It’s cloudy today. Now, it is raining.
T: This is the wind. Wind-windy. Read after me.
SS: Wind-windy. You please.
S2: Look at the wind. It’s windy today.
T: Thank you, sit down please.
T: And look! What is it?
Ss: It’s the rain.
T: Rain-rainy.
Ss: Rain-rainy.
T: And this word is a little special. We can say “It’s rainy today.” And we can also say “It’s raining today.” Read after me. Rain-rainy-raining.
Ss: Rain-rainy-raining.
T&Ss: Look at the rain. It’s rainy today. Now, it is raining.
T: The last one is the beautiful snow. Snow-snowy.
Ss: Snow-snowy.
T: And it also can say “It’s snowing today.” Like this one. (Point the “rain” on the blackboard.)
Activity 3: Find the rules
T sum up the law of following transformation:
T: I believe that you must find the rule. (show the all words and read it together.)
T: Have anyone can tell me the rule?
S3: Adding a “y”.
T: Yes, very good. This line is none. And this line is adjective words. We can add a “y” at the end of the none. Then, it will become an adjective one. But, please pay attention to the “Sunny”, the “n” should be doubled.

Activity4: Matching
T asks Ss to finish 1a according to the pictures in 1a.
T: You know. Different places have different weather right?
Ss: Yes.
T: Now, Peter is in Shanghai. Tom lives in Moscow. They are talking about weather in different cities. Please match the words with the pictures. Do it quickly. I think it is easy for you.

Step2. While-listening(3mins)
Activity1: Listening and matching
Let Ss listen the tape and finish 1b.
T: Those cities are very famous. At first, let’s read it together.
Ss: OK!
(Read the cities’ names in 1b)
T: Now, Please listen the tape and write these city names in the boxes in 1a.
Ss: OK!
(After listening. T checks the answer.)
Activity2: Pair work
Make conversations according to 1c then T invites some pair of Ss to show their dialogue
T: Different places have different weather. Please imagine you are in one of these three places. And you are talking about the weather with your friends on the phone. After 1 minute, I will choose some of you to show your dialogues.
A: Hi! How’s the weather in Beijing?
B: It’s sunny.
Step 3: Post-listening (4mins)
Activity1: Sing
Sing a song about weather. To help Ss remember the new pattern and words.
T: Now, let’s sing a song. This is very easy. The first two sections you can listen careful and clap your hands. And the last three sections please sing it together OK!

Activity2: Let’s review.
T asks Ss look at the blackboard to review what they have learned today.
