1．合理恰当地运用主题句。如文章开头可以用“There have been a lot of changes in…over the years.”来概括家乡发生的巨大变化；第二段可以用“The transport has changed greatly.”来概括交通方式发生的变化；第三段可以用“The environment has also changed.”来概括自然环境发生的变化。

2．以小见大，体现变化。交通方式和自然环境的变化可能是由多个细节体现出来的，但是受到篇幅的限制，我们不可能描写过多的细节。所以，我们应该选择那些最具有代表性的事物来描写。
3．正确地使用时态。谈论过去的情况通常使用一般过去时，描写现在的情况通常使用一般现在时。但在有些情况下要用到现在完成时。
