B
Kong
Zi,
also
called
Confucius(551—479B.C.)
,
and
Socrates(苏格拉底)
(469—399
B.C.)
lived
only
a
hundred
years
apart,
and
during
their
lifetimes
there
was
no
contact
between
China
and
Greece,
but
it
is
interesting
to
look
at
how
the
world
that
each
of
these
great
philosophers
came
from
shaped
their
ideas,
and
how
these
ideas
in
turn,
shaped
their
societies.
Neither
philosopher
lived
in
times
of
peace,
though
there
were
more
wars
in
Greece
than
in
China.
The
Chinese
states
were
very
large
and
feudal,
while
the
Greek
city-states
were
small
and
urban.
The
urban
environment
in
which
Socrates
lived
allowed
him
to
be
more
radical(激进的)
than
Confucius.
Unlike
Confucius,
Socrates
was
not
asked
by
rulers
how
to
govern
effectively.
Thus,
Socrates
was
able
to
be
more
idealistic,
focusing
on
issues
like
freedom,
and
knowledge
for
its
own
sake.
Confucius,
on
the
other
hand,
advised
those
in
government
service,
and
many
of
his
students
went
out
to
government
service.
Confucius
suggested
the
Golden
Rule
as
a
principle
for
the
conduct
of
life:“Do
not
do
to
others
what
you
would
not
want
others
to
do
to
you.”
He
assumed
that
all
men
were
equal
at
birth,
though
some
had
more
potential
than
others,
and
that
it
was
knowledge
that
set
men
apart.
Socrates
focused
on
the
individual,
and
thought
that
the
greatest
purpose
of
man
was
to
seek
wisdom.
Like
Confucius,
he
believed
that
the
superior
class
should
rule
the
inferior(下层的)
classes.
For
Socrates,
the
family
was
of
no
importance,
and
the
community
of
little
concern.
For
Confucius,
however,
the
family
was
the
centre
of
the
society,
with
family
relations
considered
much
more
important
than
political
relations.
Both
men
are
respected
much
more
today
than
they
were
in
their
lifetimes.

4.Which
of
the
following
is
TRUE
according
to
the

A.Socrates
and
Confucius
had
much
in
common.
B.Confucius
had
much
influence
on
Socrates’
ideas.
C.The
societies
were
influenced
by
the
philosophers’
ideas.
D.There
were
cultural
exchanges
between
China
and
Greece.
( )
5.Socrates
shared
with
Confucius
the
idea
that
.
A.all
men
were
equal
when
they
were
born
B.the
lower
classes
should
be
ruled
by
the
upper

to
( )
6.What
made
some
people
different
from
others
according
to
Confucius?
A.Family.
B.Potential.
C.Knowledge.
D.Community.

7.How
does
the

organize?
A.In
the
patter
of
time
and
events.
B.In
the

of
cause

C
The
idea
of
turning
recycled
plastic
bottles
into
clothing
is
not
new.
During
the
last
five
years,
a
large
number
of
clothing
companies,
businesses
and
environmental
organizations
have
started
turning
plastics
into
fabric
to
deal
with
plastic
pollution.
But
there’s
a
problem
with
this
method.
Research
now
shows
that
microfibers
could
be
the
biggest
source
of
plastic
in
the
sea.
Dr.
Mark
Browne
in
Santa
Barbara,
California,
has
been
studying
plastic
pollution
and
microfibers
for
10
years
now.
He
explains
that
every
time
synthetic(合成的)
clothes
go
into
a
washing
machine,
a
large
number
of
plastic
fibers
fall
off.
Most
washing
machines
can’t
collect
these
microfibers.
So
every
time
the
water
gets
out
of
a
washing
machine,
microfibers
are
entering
the
sewers
and
finally
end
up
in
the
sea.
In
2011,
Browne
wrote
a
paper
stating
that
a
single
piece
of
synthetic
clothing
can
produce
more
than
1,
900
fibers
per
wash.
Browne
collected
samples
from
seawater
and
freshwater
sites
around
the
world,
and
used
a
special
way
to
examine
each
sample.He
discovered
that
every
single
water
sample
contained
microfibers.
This
is
bad
news
for
a
number
of
reasons.
Plastic
can
cause
harm
to
sea
life
when
eaten.
Studies
have
also
shown
that
plastic
can
absorb
other
pollutants.
Based
on
this
evidence,
it
may
seem
surprising
that
companies
and
organizations
have
chosen
to
turn
plastic
waste
into
clothing
as
an
environmental
“solution.”
Even
though
the
science
has
been
around
for
a
while,
Browne
explains
that
he’s
had
a
difficult
time
getting
companies
to
listen.
When
he
asked
well-known
clothing
companies
to
support
Benign
by
Design—his
research
project
that
seeks
to
get
clothes
that
have
a
bad
effect
on
humans
and
the
environment
out
of
the
market,
Browne
didn’t
get
a
satisfying
answer.
Only
one
women’s
clothing
company,
Eileen
Fisher,
offered
Browne
funding.

8.What
has
happened
during
the
past
five
years?
A.Fabric

B.Plastic
pollution
has
been
less
serious.
C.Many
plastic
bottles
have
been
reused.
D.Microfibers
have
been
greatly
improved.
( )
9.What
does
Browne
think
of
washing
synthetic
clothes?
A.It
is
adding
microfibers
to
the
clothes.
B.It
is
worsening
environmental
problems.
C.It
is
making
synthetic
clothes
last
longer.
D.It
is
doing
great
damage
to

machines.
( )
10.What
can
be
inferred
about

【语篇解读】本文是一篇议论文。在过去的五年里,大量的服装公司、企业和环保组织已经开始将塑料变成织物来处理塑料污染。研究表明,微纤维可能是海洋中塑料的最大来源。
8.C 推理判断题。由第一段内容可知,许多服装公司、企业和环保组织开始将塑料转变成织物来处理塑料污染。由此可推断出,在过去的五年里许多塑料瓶已被重新利用。
9.B 推理判断题。由第二段内容可知,每次合成纤维衣服进入洗衣机,都会有大量塑料纤维脱落。大多数洗衣机无法收集这些微纤维。因此,每当水从洗衣机中流出时,微纤维就会进入下水道,最终流入大海。所以通过Browne的解释可以判断出,布朗认为洗合成纤维衣服正在使环境恶化。故选B项。
10.D 推理判断题。由最后一段“When
he
asked
well-known
clothing
companies
to
support
Benign
by
Design…Browne
didn’t
get
a
satisfying
answer.”可知,当他要求知名服装公司来支持他的研究项目时,Browne并没有得到令人满意的答复,由此判断出Browne要使服装公司支持他的研究项目是很困难的,故布朗的Benign
by
Design正面临一些困难。故选D项。
11.C 标题归纳题。通读全文可知,文章围绕“回收塑料服装:是解决方案还是污染”而展开论述。故选C项。
D
Do
you
enjoy
eating
ketchup
on
your
fries?
If
so,
you
must
like
the
essential
ingredient
in
the
sauces,
tomatoes.
The
tomato
originally
comes
from
South
America
and
has
been
eaten
by
people
there
for
thousands
of
years.
Today,
tomatoes
are
popular
all
over
the
world.
However,
when
they
were
first
introduced,
there
was
quite
a
bit
of
controversy
and
apprehension
surrounding
them.
Tomatoes
were
first
planted
by
the
Aztecs
(阿兹特克人)
in
Central
America.
In
fact,
ancient
Aztec
writings
mention
recipes
for
dishes
of
tomatoes.
Spanish
soldiers
conquered
the
Aztecs
and
brought
tomato
seeds
back
with
them
to
Europe.
In
Europe,
these
yellowish
tomatoes
were
first
called
“apples
of
gold”.
For
a
long
time,
people
in
Northern
Europe
and
North
America
did
not
eat
these
“apples
of
gold”.
The
tomato
plant
looked
similar
to
the
nightshade
plant,
a
deadly
poison,
so
they
were
afraid
to
eat
them.
German
people
even
thought
that
if
someone
ate
tomatoes,
he
or
she
would
change
into
a
werewolf(狼人)
.
But
finally,
by
the
mid-1800s
people
all
over
the
world
had
accepted
the
tomato.
However,
the
tomato
was
due
for
more
controversy.
Do
you
think
the
tomato
is
a
fruit
or
vegetable?
Actually
the
tomato
is
a
fruit.
But
in
America,
the
tomato
is
a
vegetable
by
law.
Why
is
the
tomato
legally
a
vegetable
in
America?
In
the
1800s,
there
was
no
import
tax
in
fruit
from
other
countries.
At
that
time,
many
tomatoes
were
coming
from
other
countries
into
America,
and
American
tomato
farmers
became
worried
about
making
a
living.
The
government
made
the
tomato
a
vegetable
by
law
so
that
non-American
tomatoes
would
be
taxed.
Actually,
it
is
easy
to
tell
that
the
tomato
is
really
a
fruit.
Cut
into
a
tomato
and
look
inside.
You
can
see
many
seeds
in
the
center,
which
is
one
sign
of
a
fruit.
In
fact,
tomatoes
are
similar
to
strawberries.
Both
have
seeds
inside,
and
both
grow
from
the
flowers
of
a
plant.
And
both
have
delicious
flesh
surrounding
the
seeds.
Tomatoes
and
strawberries
are
actually
in
the
same
family.

main
idea
of

about
tomatoes
have
changed.
B.How
to
grow
tomatoes.
C.The
history
of
tomatoes
planting.
D.The
history
of
famous
tomato
dishes.
( )
13.What
is
NOT
a
reason
why
people
didn’t
eat
tomatoes
at
first?
A.They
thought
tomatoes
could
change
them
into
monsters.
B.They
thought
tomatoes
were
similar
to
a
deadly
plant.
C.They
thought
tomatoes
cost
too
much
to
grow.
D.They
thought
tomatoes
were
poisonous.
( )
14.What
does
the
US
government
say
tomatoes
are?
A.Both
a
fruit
and
a

B.A
kind
of

C.A
kind
of
fruit.
D.Neither
a
fruit
nor
a

A.Tomatoes
do

14.B 根据第三段中的“But
in
America,
the
tomato
is
a

【语篇解读】这是一篇说明文。旅行是一种很有趣也很有意义的人生经历。本文给没有足够的钱去旅行的学生如何准备旅行提出了一些具体的建议。
16.C 从文章“总分总”的写作结构可以看出,这句话引出下文的建议。浏览选项,选项C中“Here
are
some…”
是比较经典的引出下文的句型。且其中的“some
useful
suggestions”与下文各项建议呼应。故选C项。
17.G 小标题是“Save”,选项G中的“Cut
expenses
to
fatten
your
wallet”与其呼应。由于小标题与所在段落内容应保持一致。故选G项。
18.F 小标题是“Plan
ahead”,选项F中的“Giving
yourself
several
months
to
get
ready(给你自己几个月的时间去准备)
”与其呼应。由于小标题与所在段落内容应保持一致。故选F项。
19.D 根据小标题“Travel
in
groups”可确定,选项D“Find
someone
who
is
interested
in
visiting
the
same
places.(找到也想去你所想去的地方旅行的人)
”与其呼应,语境内容一致。故选D项。
20.B 首先根据其他几个小标题可以推断,此处小标题应该是一个简短的祈使句,所以把答案可锁定在A、B项上。再根据选项B中的necessary与空格后的“The
most
important
things(最重要的事情)
”相呼应。故选B项。

【语篇解读】本文是一篇记叙文。文中的丈夫是一个乐于助人、勤劳顾家的人。虽然多次爆发心脏病和中风,不过依然果断坚定;虽然身患残疾,但依然乐于助人。
21.D 根据前面的“He
would
help
friends
and
family
when
needed.”可知,丈夫乐于帮助他人。
22.A 根据上文“My
husband
was
a
truck
driver.”可知,丈夫的工作就是驾驶卡车,又根据后面的“off
the
truck”可知,这里描述的是“不工作的时候”,即在家(home)
。
23.C 根据下文“Since
then
he
has
had
4
heart
attacks…”可知,本句描述的是第一次(first)
发病的时候。
24.B 根据下文“…he
would
not
cut
off…
walk
again
without
a
walking
stick.”可知,这是医生对丈夫的嘱咐。
25.B 根据下文“…he
did
learn
how
to
talk
again
and
walk
without
a
stick
and
cut
off
the
supply
of
oxygen.”可知。故选B项。
26.A 根据下文“…overcome
any
obstacle(障碍)
that
came
his
way…”可知,丈夫非常的坚定(determined)
。
27.D 根据下文“…knowing
she
could
not
make
a
trip
to
any
28
that
wasn’t
close…”可知,丈夫的妈妈不能去远的地方,所以丈夫尽力地把车开到离他母亲家更近的(closer)
地方。
28.B 根据上文“…as
he
was
having
his
4th
attack…”可知,丈夫知道母亲无法带他到较远的医院(hospital)
去给他看病。
29.A 根据上文的“…
so
he
could
make
it
home 27 ”可知,丈夫在患有中风的情况下,驱车3000英里成功(make
it)
到家。
30.D recognize“识别,认可”;declare“宣布”;explain“解释”;learn“得知,学习”。句意:他从47岁起就患有糖尿病,深知虽然不能像以前那样在卡车上工作,但他开始教别人如何开卡车。
31.D 根据前面的“…he
started
to
teach
others.”可以推断,丈夫自己开不了卡车了,是教别人如何(how)
驾驶。
32.C 下文“
he
kept
having
epileptic(癫痫)
seizures”与上文“…he
would
never
walk
or
talk
again,
or
use
his
right
side…”构成因果关系。
33.C 根据上文“he
kept
having
seizures
epileptic(癫痫)
”可知,这次患病对身体的危害(damage)
更大。
34.D 根据下文“he
did
learn
how
to
talk
again
and
walk
without
a
stick
and
cut
off
the
supply
of
oxygen”可知,丈夫的情况与医生的判断截然相反,故证明医生是错误的(wrong)
。
35.B 句意:即使他残疾了,不能再开车或工作,他仍然非常坚定。正是因为他所经历的这些苦难挫折,(所以)
他是我(心中)
的英雄。结合全文内容可知,丈夫非常坚强,即使多次生病,但始终与病魔抗争,很自然丈夫是“我”心中的英雄。

for
Today看到的关于中学生使用手机的利弊的报告。
36.interested 考查形容词。feel/be
interested
in…意为“对……感兴趣”,为固定搭配。interested是形容词,通常修饰人或者与人有关的事物。
37.with 考查介词。with表示伴随状态,指“他们带着手机来上学”。
38.it 考查代词。分析句子结构可知,本句中it是形式主语,真正的主语是后面的不定式
“to
get
in
touch
with
others
with
the
cell-phone”。
39.which 考查关系代词。分析句子结构可知,
“…also
makes
them
feel
safe
especially
in
time
of
trouble”为非限制性定语从句,从句缺少主语,故用which指代主句内容。
40.various 考查词性转化。修饰名词functions用形容词various。
41.a 考查冠词。本句后面的must是可数名词,指“必备的事物”,这里表示“手机是一个必备品”,故用不定冠词a。
42.making 考查现在分词。making在句中作结果状语,指意料之中的结果,与其逻辑主语构成主动关系。
43.messages 考查名词复数。message为可数名词,这里表示发送“不同信息”,故用复数形式。
44.be
wasted 考查语态。句意:另外,会浪费大量的时间和金钱。分析句子可知,本句缺少谓语,waste与主语为动宾关系,故用被动语态,故be
wasted。
45.freely 考查词性转化。修饰动词use用副词freely。

第二节 (满分25分)
阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
I
have
been
in
the
teaching
profession
for
more
than
thirty
years,
and
one
of
the
best
teachers
I
have
ever
known
is
Mr.Rowe.
I
was
lucky
enough
to
teach
fourth
grade
together
with
him.
Mr.Rowe
had
endless
patience
and
understanding
and
I
learned
so
much
from
watching
him.
He
could
perform
miracles,
like
the
one
he
performed
with
Steven,
one
of
the
unhappiest
kids
I
had
ever
seen.
Steven
couldn’t
stand
school.
He
didn’t
like
being
picked
last
for
kickball.
He
didn’t
like
the
kids
who
raised
their
hands
and
knew
the
answers,
and
most
importantly,
he
didn’t
like
himself.
The
first
day
he
walked
into
Mr.Rowe’s
classroom,
he
ignored
the
other
students,
looking
angry
and
annoyed,
and
slid
into
his
chair,
knocking
a
couple
of
textbooks
onto
the
floor.
Mr.Rowe
walked
over
to
him
and
touched
Steven’s
shoulder,
but
Steven
pulled
away.
Nevertheless,
Mr.Rowe
welcomed
him:“Hi,
Steven.
I’m
happy
you
are
in
my
class.
We
are
gonna
have
a
great
year.”
Steven
looked
around
the
room
as
if
Mr.
Rowe
were
mistaken.
No
teacher
in
his
right
mind
would
want
Steven
to
be
part
of
his
class.
So,
while
Mr.Rowe
seemed
cheerful
and
relaxed
that
day
of
school,
it
seemed
that
Steven
was
angry
and
confused.
That
day
after
classes,
Mr.Rowe
chose
Steven
to
pitch(投球)
the
kickball
at
recess.
“Hey,
Steven,”
Mr.Rowe
commented,
“You
are
good
at
pitching.
Let
me
show
you
my
secret
trick.”
Mr.Rowe
taught
Steven
one
of
the
tricks
that
not
a
single
kid
could
perform.
Steven
learned
fast
and
did
quite
well!
Everyone
cheered
for
him!
After
the
kickball,
Steven
sat
as
close
to
Mr.Rowe
in
classes
as
he
could.
When
a
question
was
asked,
Steven
lit
up;
when
he
knew
the
answer,
he
raised
his
hand;
when
he
answered
the
question,
his
voice
shook.
However,
he
got
the
answer
right!
He
said,
with
Mr.Rowe,
his
days
of
the
fourth
grade
promised
wonderful.
That
is
not
to
say
that
every
day
went
smoothly,
but
it
was
obvious
that
Steven
grew
to
love
Mr.Rowe
more
and
more
with
each
passing
day.

【答案】
Time
passed
quickly
that
year,
and
before
we
all
knew
it,
it
was
the
last
day
of
school.
Our
school
had
a
very
special
tradition
on
the
last
day.
All
the
teachers
filled
the
sidewalk,
waving
goodbye
to
the
kids
as
the
bus
pilled
out
with
their
horns
honking.
But
on
that
particular
day,
Steven
walked
slowly
to
the
bus,
his
head
down,
tears
in
his
eyes.
He
boarded
the
bus
reluctantly,
hesitated,
and
then
ran
back
off
the
bus
to
hug
Mr.
Rowe.
“I
don’t
want
to
leave
you.”
He
sobbed.
Touched
and
tearful,
Mr.
Rowe
comforted
him,
“I
will
miss
you,
too.”

B
Kong
Zi,
also
called
Confucius(551—479B.C.)
,
and
Socrates(苏格拉底)
(469—399
B.C.)
lived
only
a
hundred
years
apart,
and
during
their
lifetimes
there
was
no
contact
between
China
and
Greece,
but
it
is
interesting
to
look
at
how
the
world
that
each
of
these
great
philosophers
came
from
shaped
their
ideas,
and
how
these
ideas
in
turn,
shaped
their
societies.
Neither
philosopher
lived
in
times
of
peace,
though
there
were
more
wars
in
Greece
than
in
China.
The
Chinese
states
were
very
large
and
feudal,
while
the
Greek
city-states
were
small
and
urban.
The
urban
environment
in
which
Socrates
lived
allowed
him
to
be
more
radical(激进的)
than
Confucius.
Unlike
Confucius,
Socrates
was
not
asked
by
rulers
how
to
govern
effectively.
Thus,
Socrates
was
able
to
be
more
idealistic,
focusing
on
issues
like
freedom,
and
knowledge
for
its
own
sake.
Confucius,
on
the
other
hand,
advised
those
in
government
service,
and
many
of
his
students
went
out
to
government
service.
Confucius
suggested
the
Golden
Rule
as
a
principle
for
the
conduct
of
life:“Do
not
do
to
others
what
you
would
not
want
others
to
do
to
you.”
He
assumed
that
all
men
were
equal
at
birth,
though
some
had
more
potential
than
others,
and
that
it
was
knowledge
that
set
men
apart.
Socrates
focused
on
the
individual,
and
thought
that
the
greatest
purpose
of
man
was
to
seek
wisdom.
Like
Confucius,
he
believed
that
the
superior
class
should
rule
the
inferior(下层的)
classes.
For
Socrates,
the
family
was
of
no
importance,
and
the
community
of
little
concern.
For
Confucius,
however,
the
family
was
the
centre
of
the
society,
with
family
relations
considered
much
more
important
than
political
relations.
Both
men
are
respected
much
more
today
than
they
were
in
their
lifetimes.

The
idea
of
turning
recycled
plastic
bottles
into
clothing
is
not
new.
During
the
last
five
years,
a
large
number
of
clothing
companies,
businesses
and
environmental
organizations
have
started
turning
plastics
into
fabric
to
deal
with
plastic
pollution.
But
there’s
a
problem
with
this
method.
Research
now
shows
that
microfibers
could
be
the
biggest
source
of
plastic
in
the
sea.
Dr.
Mark
Browne
in
Santa
Barbara,
California,
has
been
studying
plastic
pollution
and
microfibers
for
10
years
now.
He
explains
that
every
time
synthetic(合成的)
clothes
go
into
a
washing
machine,
a
large
number
of
plastic
fibers
fall
off.
Most
washing
machines
can’t
collect
these
microfibers.
So
every
time
the
water
gets
out
of
a
washing
machine,
microfibers
are
entering
the
sewers
and
finally
end
up
in
the
sea.
In
2011,
Browne
wrote
a
paper
stating
that
a
single
piece
of
synthetic
clothing
can
produce
more
than
1,
900
fibers
per
wash.
Browne
collected
samples
from
seawater
and
freshwater
sites
around
the
world,
and
used
a
special
way
to
examine
each
sample.He
discovered
that
every
single
water
sample
contained
microfibers.
This
is
bad
news
for
a
number
of
reasons.
Plastic
can
cause
harm
to
sea
life
when
eaten.
Studies
have
also
shown
that
plastic
can
absorb
other
pollutants.
Based
on
this
evidence,
it
may
seem
surprising
that
companies
and
organizations
have
chosen
to
turn
plastic
waste
into
clothing
as
an
environmental
“solution.”
Even
though
the
science
has
been
around
for
a
while,
Browne
explains
that
he’s
had
a
difficult
time
getting
companies
to
listen.
When
he
asked
well-known
clothing
companies
to
support
Benign
by
Design—his
research
project
that
seeks
to
get
clothes
that
have
a
bad
effect
on
humans
and
the
environment
out
of
the
market,
Browne
didn’t
get
a
satisfying
answer.
Only
one
women’s
clothing
company,
Eileen
Fisher,
offered
Browne
funding.

Do
you
enjoy
eating
ketchup
on
your
fries?
If
so,
you
must
like
the
essential
ingredient
in
the
sauces,
tomatoes.
The
tomato
originally
comes
from
South
America
and
has
been
eaten
by
people
there
for
thousands
of
years.
Today,
tomatoes
are
popular
all
over
the
world.
However,
when
they
were
first
introduced,
there
was
quite
a
bit
of
controversy
and
apprehension
surrounding
them.
Tomatoes
were
first
planted
by
the
Aztecs
(阿兹特克人)
in
Central
America.
In
fact,
ancient
Aztec
writings
mention
recipes
for
dishes
of
tomatoes.
Spanish
soldiers
conquered
the
Aztecs
and
brought
tomato
seeds
back
with
them
to
Europe.
In
Europe,
these
yellowish
tomatoes
were
first
called
“apples
of
gold”.
For
a
long
time,
people
in
Northern
Europe
and
North
America
did
not
eat
these
“apples
of
gold”.
The
tomato
plant
looked
similar
to
the
nightshade
plant,
a
deadly
poison,
so
they
were
afraid
to
eat
them.
German
people
even
thought
that
if
someone
ate
tomatoes,
he
or
she
would
change
into
a
werewolf(狼人)
.
But
finally,
by
the
mid-1800s
people
all
over
the
world
had
accepted
the
tomato.
However,
the
tomato
was
due
for
more
controversy.
Do
you
think
the
tomato
is
a
fruit
or
vegetable?
Actually
the
tomato
is
a
fruit.
But
in
America,
the
tomato
is
a
vegetable
by
law.
Why
is
the
tomato
legally
a
vegetable
in
America?
In
the
1800s,
there
was
no
import
tax
in
fruit
from
other
countries.
At
that
time,
many
tomatoes
were
coming
from
other
countries
into
America,
and
American
tomato
farmers
became
worried
about
making
a
living.
The
government
made
the
tomato
a
vegetable
by
law
so
that
non-American
tomatoes
would
be
taxed.
Actually,
it
is
easy
to
tell
that
the
tomato
is
really
a
fruit.
Cut
into
a
tomato
and
look
inside.
You
can
see
many
seeds
in
the
center,
which
is
one
sign
of
a
fruit.
In
fact,
tomatoes
are
similar
to
strawberries.
Both
have
seeds
inside,
and
both
grow
from
the
flowers
of
a
plant.
And
both
have
delicious
flesh
surrounding
the
seeds.
Tomatoes
and
strawberries
are
actually
in
the
same
family.

dishes.

13.What
is
NOT
a
reason
why
people
didn’t
eat
tomatoes
at
first?
A.They
thought
tomatoes
could
change
them
into
monsters.
B.They
thought
tomatoes
were
similar
to
a
deadly
plant.
C.They
thought
tomatoes
cost
too
much
to
grow.

thought
tomatoes
were
poisonous.

are?
A.Both
a

kind
of
fruit.

a
fruit
nor

is
the

He

he

But
in

第二节 (满分25分)
阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
I
have
been
in
the
teaching
profession
for
more
than
thirty
years,
and
one
of
the
best
teachers
I
have
ever
known
is
Mr.Rowe.
I
was
lucky
enough
to
teach
fourth
grade
together
with
him.
Mr.Rowe
had
endless
patience
and
understanding
and
I
learned
so
much
from
watching
him.
He
could
perform
miracles,
like
the
one
he
performed
with
Steven,
one
of
the
unhappiest
kids
I
had
ever
seen.
Steven
couldn’t
stand
school.
He
didn’t
like
being
picked
last
for
kickball.
He
didn’t
like
the
kids
who
raised
their
hands
and
knew
the
answers,
and
most
importantly,
he
didn’t
like
himself.
The
first
day
he
walked
into
Mr.Rowe’s
classroom,
he
ignored
the
other
students,
looking
angry
and
annoyed,
and
slid
into
his
chair,
knocking
a
couple
of
textbooks
onto
the
floor.
Mr.Rowe
walked
over
to
him
and
touched
Steven’s
shoulder,
but
Steven
pulled
away.
Nevertheless,
Mr.Rowe
welcomed
him:“Hi,
Steven.
I’m
happy
you
are
in
my
class.
We
are
gonna
have
a
great
year.”
Steven
looked
around
the
room
as
if
Mr.
Rowe
were
mistaken.
No
teacher
in
his
right
mind
would
want
Steven
to
be
part
of
his
class.
So,
while
Mr.Rowe
seemed
cheerful
and
relaxed
that
day
of
school,
it
seemed
that
Steven
was
angry
and
confused.
That
day
after
classes,
Mr.Rowe
chose
Steven
to
pitch(投球)
the
kickball
at
recess.
“Hey,
Steven,”
Mr.Rowe
commented,
“You
are
good
at
pitching.
Let
me
show
you
my
secret
trick.”
Mr.Rowe
taught
Steven
one
of
the
tricks
that
not
a
single
kid
could
perform.
Steven
learned
fast
and
did
quite
well!
Everyone
cheered
for
him!
After
the
kickball,
Steven
sat
as
close
to
Mr.Rowe
in
classes
as
he
could.
When
a
question
was
asked,
Steven
lit
up;
when
he
knew
the
answer,
he
raised
his
hand;
when
he
answered
the
question,
his
voice
shook.
However,
he
got
the
answer
right!
He
said,
with
Mr.Rowe,
his
days
of
the
fourth
grade
promised
wonderful.
That
is
not
to
say
that
every
day
went
smoothly,
but
it
was
obvious
that
Steven
grew
to
love
Mr.Rowe
more
and
more
with
each
passing
day.
