A
A British friend told me he couldn’t understand why Chinese people love eating sunflower seeds as a snack so much. “I’ve met a lot of older Chinese and many have a crack(缝隙) in their front teeth; I believe that’s from cracking the seeds,” he said.
I had never noticed the habit, but once he mentioned(提及) it, I suddenly became more aware.I realized that whenever I’m watching TV or typing a report, I always start mindlessly(不自觉地) cracking sunflower seeds. My friend doesn’t like sunflower seeds, and, to him, it seems unnecessary to work so much just to get one small seed.
When we were young, the whole family would usually get together for Chinese New Year. Then, we all lived close to one another, usually in a small city, and sometimes even neighbors would go door-to-door on Chinese New Year’s Eve to check out what every household was making.
I remember my parents would be in the kitchen cooking. Out in the living room, a large table would already be laid out, complete with fancy tablecloth, ready-made dumpling fillings, and dishes full of candy, fruits and sunflower seeds. Some of the dishes were to be offered to our ancestors later, while others were for neighbors and children to eat before the evening feast. I must have learned how to crack sunflower seeds back then.
I don’t think it’s right to criticize(批评) one’s choice in food or eating habits, no matter how strange they may seem.
It’s not only in China. When I went abroad, I found people had all sorts of strange habits when it came to food. In Denmark, they put salted red fish on bread and eat it for dinner, no matter how much it ruins your breath. They think it抯 a delicacy, and it抯 connected to their culture. I think it抯 a wonderful tradition.
What did the writer become aware of?
She had ever typed a report about seeds.
She had various snacks while watching TV.
She had a habit of cracking sunflower seeds.
She damaged her teeth by eating sunflower seeds.
What does the writer prove by mentioning Chinese New Year?
The traditions of celebrating it disappear.
Children can eat delicious food on that day.
The families get together for it.
Eating sunflower seeds is related to it.
The writer’s attitude to Denmark’s way of eating bread is ????????.
A.acceptable B.critical C.neutral D.doubtful
What lesson can we learn from the story?
One kind of food doesn抰 necessarily suit everyone.
Eating habits come from a certain culture.
It is good to form healthy eating habits.
Changing your eating habits will change your life.

Do you think Great Britain and the United States are alike? Winston Churchill once joked that the people of Britain and the people of America are separated(分离) only by their language. Do you think that is true? The British and the Americans both speak English as the official language. However, each uses some different words. We Americans are similar to the British. After all, our country was once owned by Great Britain, so we have a lot in common. But there are many differences between us.
Great Britain has a king or queen, and the leader of the government is the Prime Minister. The United States has no kings or queens. Our leader is the President.
Both the British and Americans use pounds and ounces, pints, quarts, and gallons. Both use miles, yards and feet. Our money is different, though. The British use pounds and pence. Americans use dollars and cents.
Driving in a car is very different in England. They drive on the left side of the road. We drive on the right. What we call the hood of the car, the British call the 揵onnet. British cars run on 損etrol, which we call gasoline.
In our everyday lives, we do many of the same things as the British. But we describe them differently. A young mother here might push a baby in a baby carriage. A British mom pushes a pram. The British watch the 搕elly, while we watch TV. We like to eat French fries, but the British call them 揷hips. Millions of Americans drink coffee, but most British prefer tea.
So we are different in many ways. But we stay friendly anyway.

___ ___ happened on July 20, 1969.是一个限定性定语从句,修饰先行词human landing on the moon,关系词在从句中作主语,指物,因为landing前面有序数词the first修饰,此处不能用which,只能用that引导。故填that。
故填has been celebrated。
根据前面的one of the...
根据上文的in the United States可知,此处用the country特指美国。故填the。
in one’s own way意为“用某人自己的方式”。故填in。
故填them。
It be+adj. to do sth.“做某事是怎么样的。” 故填to educate。

故Therefore改为However。
结合上文the southern part of Ireland was unwilling可知应用一般过去时,故break改为broke。
结合下文they still have very different institution可知此处应用they的形容词性物主代词,故its改为their。
固定句式it is a pity that…“遗憾的是……”,故pity后加that。
