40,000

year!
But
France

not
always
good.
Paris,
the
city
of

My
father
used
to
work
in
the
city
and
seldom
stayed
at
home.
But
he
would
come
back
help
to
harvest(收割)
rice
every
year.
One
autumn,
he
promised
to
help
our
neighbor,
who
lost
his
arms
in
a
traffic
accident
in
1999,
to
harvest
his
rice.
After
Father
harvested
our
town,
his
little
rice
picker
broke.
What’s
worse,
he
had
to
return
to
work
the
next
day
because
his
partner
was
ill
in
hospital.
It
meant
that
Father
wouldn’t
be
back
in
a
few
days.
It
now
seemed
impossible
to
help
out
the
neighbor.
Father
told
us
that
be
wouldn’t
let
the
neighbor’s
rice
rot(?糜烂)
in
the
field.
He
decided
to
harvest
it
by
hand
without
a
machine.
“If
tonight’s
weather
is
clear,
I
think
I
can
do
it.”
added
my
father.
In
fact,
he
was
rather
tired
after
a
day’s
harvest
work.
After
dinner,
Father
had
a
short
rest
and
made
his
way
to
the
field.
A
full
moon
was
glowing
(发光)
in
the
sky
and
the
weather
was
cold
but
clear.
He
spent
the
whole
night
keeping
his
word.
I
would
never
forget
the
image(画面):Father
was
cutting
rice
in
the
light
of
the
harvest
moon.
Behind
him,
row
after
row
of
rice
stocks(秸秆)
stood
at
attention,
showing
respect
for
a
man
who
kept
his
word.
60.
Did
Father
always
stay
with
the
family?
______________________________________________________________
61.
What
happened
to
the
neighbor
in
1999?
______________________________________________________________
62.
Why
was
Father
required
to
return
to
work?
______________________________________________________________
63.
How
did
Father
help
the

harvest
rice
in
the
field?

64.
How
long
did
Father
spend
in
harvesting
the

The
World
Wide
Web(www.万维网)turned
25
years
old
on
March
12th.
It
has
become
a
very
important
part
in
our
daily
lives.
We
can’t
imagine
living
without
the
web,
the
short
form
of
the
World
Wide
Web.
In
1989,
a
British
engineer
named
Tim
Berners-Lee
came
up
with
the
idea
of
the
Web.
It
is
a
group
of
“pages”
of
information
that
are
connected
to
each
other
around
the
world.
That
is
the
very
beginning
of
the
Web.
Since
then,
the
Web
has
greatly
changed
the
way
people
live.
With
a
click(点击)of
a
mouse
we
can
read
news,
buy
things,
make
friends
and
learn
anything
we’re
interested
in.
Now,
25
years
after
its
birth,
how
will
the
Web
influence
life
in
the
future?
Scientists
believe
there
are
both
advantages
and
disadvantages.
A
growing
Web
will
help
build
“better
relationships”
between
different
cultures.
Also
in
the
future,
everyday
items
could
be
connected
to
the
Web.
We
could
share
plenty
of
information
to
make
our
daily
lives
more
convenient(方便的).
So
one
day
in
the
future,
your
front
door
could
send
you
a
message.
“Dear
sir,
everyone
has
left
the
house,
but
I’
m
still
open!”
But
scientists
warn(警告)us
that
if
we
share
personal
information
on
the
Internet
it
could
get
into
the
wrong
hands.
“It’s
not
wise
to
spend
a
whole
day
in
front
of
the
screen.
People
need
to
get
close
to
nature
and
enjoy
the
sun.
Never
be
controlled
by
the
Internet.”
said
Berners-Lee.
How
old
is
the
World
Wide
Web?

Will
the

The
Chongyang
Festival
falls
on
the
ninth
day
of
the
ninth
lunar
month
and
is
also
called
the
Double
Ninth
Festival.
As
both
the
month
and
the
day
are
nine,
it
got
this
name.To
celebrate
the
day,
people
usually
climb
mountains
and
enjoy
chrysanthemum(菊花),
so
the
festival
is
also
known
as
the
Height
Ascending(登高)
Festival
or
the
Chrysanthemum
Festival.
In
China.
nine
has
the
similar
pronunciation
with
the
word"forever",
meaning
long
life.So
the
Chinese
government
set
the
day
as
the
Seniors'
Day.
The
festival
has
a
history
of
over
2,000
years.
During
the
Warring
States
Period.
There
was
the
Chongyang
Festival.
But
it
was
only
celebrated
in
the
palace.
From
the
Han
dynasty,
it
began
to
be
popular
among
the
common
people.
The
name
of
the
Chongyang
Festival
first
appeared
in
the
Three
Kingdoms
Period.
During
the
Jin
Dynasty,
there
were
customs
of
enjoying
chrysanthemum
and
drinking
wines
on
the
day.
It
was
not
officially
set
as
a
festival
until
the
Tang
Dynasty.
Since
then,
all
the
people
have
spent
the
festival
with
kinds
of
activities.
In
the
Ming
and
Qing
Dynasties,
people
in
the
palace
all
ate
flower
cakes
to
celebrate.
The
emperor
climbed
the
mountain
on
the
day
as
well.
In
1989,
the
Chinese
government
set
the
day
as
the
Seniors'
Day.
As
September
has
the
clear
sky
and
fresh
air,
it
is
a
very
good
time
to
climb
the
mountain.
There
will
be
a
happy
sense
of
excitement
by
climbing
the
mountain.
Also
,it
is
good
for
health.
In
the
Western
Han
Dynasty,
people
started
to
have
the
custom
of
climbing
on
the
Chongyang
Festival.
On
the
day,
enjoying
chrysanthemum
is
very
popular
as
the
flower
means
long
life.Drinking
chrysanthemum
is
regarded
as
a
special
way
to
prevent
diseases
and
bad
things.Eating
Chongyang
cakes
is
another
tradition
on
the
festival.
There
is
no
fixed
way
of
the
cake
but
the
one
with
nine
layers(层)with
two
sheep
on
it
is
the
best.
Two
sheep
mean
Chongyang.
Nine
layers
show
people
could
do
well
in
everything.
60.
How
many
other
names
does
the
Chongyang
Festival
have?
61.
During
the
Warring
States
Period,
the
Chongyang
Festival
wasn't
very
popular,
was
it?
62.
Why
is
September
a
very
good
time
to
climb
the
mountain?
63.
When
did
people
have
the
custom
of
climbing
on
that
day?
64.
What
is
the
special
way
to
prevent
diseases
and
bad
things
according
the
passage?

As
William
Shakespeare
is
to
literature
in
English,
so
is
the
poet
Du
Fu
to
the
Chinese
literary
tradition.
Recently,
a
new
BBC
documentary,
which
is
aiming
at
introducing
the
beauty
and
fascination
of
traditional
literature,
was
brought
to
the
public.
It
records
the
poet
-
Du
Fu’s
life
experiences.
Bom
in
712,
Du
lived
under
the
rule
of
die
Tang
Emperor
Xuanzong
(713-756)
(唐玄宗统治时期)
a
golden
time
in
the
long
history
of
China.
However,
as
the
An
Lushan
Rebellion
(安史之乱)
of
755
broke
out,
Du,
had
to
take
his
family
on
the
road
as
refugees
(难民)
and
suffered
a
lot
along
the
way.
Through
ups
and
downs,
the
poet
never
stopped
writing
and
about
1,500
poems
have
been
kept
over
the
ages.
In
these
poems,
he
stated
his
worries
for
his
country
and
people
as
well
as
the
importance
of
celebrating
the
simple
joys
of
life.
“Chinese
people
really
value
the
recording
of
history
and
Du
is
better
than
anyone
at
doing
that
in
his
poems.
Historical
events
are
mirrored
both
in
his
own
life
and
spiritual
journey,”
Zeng
Xiangbo,
a
professor
told
China
Daily.
Even
though
he
never
held
a
high
position
in
the
government,
Du
still
cared
about
common
people.
For
example,
in
the
poem
My
Cottage
Unroofed
By
Autumn
Gales
(《茅屋为秋风所破歌》),
he
wrote
that
“Could
I
get
mansions
covering
ten
thousand
miles,
I’d
house
all
scholars
poor
and
make
them
beam
with
smiles.”
“That’s
why
he
was
honored
as
a
Poet
Sage
(诗圣)
by
Chinese
people.
A
difficult
life
and
his
spirit
of
caring
about
the
world
helped
him
create
so
many
great
works,”
Shi
Wenxue
told
the
Global
Times.
60.
What
is
the
purpose
of
the
new
BBC
documentary?

did
Du

Many
of
us
might
want
to
take
on
traditional
jobs
when
we
grow
up,
such
as
being
a
doctor
or
a
lawyer.
However.
there
are
many
more
choices
than
just
these
that
are
available
today.
In
October,
a
job-hunting
website
Zhaopin.
com
gave
a
report
after
surveying
people
who
work
in
more
than
800
different
jobs
in
major
Chinese
cities.
These
jobs
include
early
childhood
educator,
fitness
coach
and
make-up
artist.
Most
of
the
jobs
pay
well,
with
one
in
three
workers
making
more
than
8,000
yuan
a
month.
The
top-paying
is
vet-about
29
percent
of
these
animal
doctors
make
over
20,000
yuan
per
month.
These
workers’
educational
background
is
also
impressive(令人印象深刻的).Over
60
percent
of
the
surveyed
workers
have
a
college
degree
or
above,
the
report
says.
Most
of
the
workers
said
they
chose
their
jobs
because
of
love
and
interest
in
the
area.
Many
of
the
jobs
are
no
longer
taken
by
only
one
sex.
For
example,the
report
found
that
one-third
of
child
care
workers
are
men.
These
positions
used
to
be
filled
almost
only
by
women.
Many
of
these
jobs
are
in
the
service
industry.
Economic(经济的)
development
means
more
people
are
in
greater
need
of
high-quality
services,
China
News
Service
noted.
For
example.
a
number
of
people
have
started
to
raise
pets.
Pet
owners
spent
about
4,800
yuan
on
one
pet
in
2019,
an
increase
of
20
percent
from
2018,Xinhua
reported.
Thee
growing
need
for
animal
care.
therefore,
has
encouraged
more
people
to
become
vets.
60.
What
are
vets?
61.
According
to
the
passage.
why
did
most
workers
choose
their
jobs?
62.
Are
child
care
workers
only
women?
63.
With
the
development
of
economy,what
do
people
need
more
now?
64.
How
much
did
pet
owners
probably
spend
on
one
pet
in
2018?

The
Oscar
awards
(奥斯卡奖)
started
in
1929.
Their
full
title
is
“The
Academy
of
Motion

Sciences
Awards”
The
Academy
is
a
group
of
people
who
have
worked
in
the
film
industry
for
many
years.
They
decide
who
will
receive
the
awards.
The
awards
are
often
referred
to
as
the
“Oscar”.
This
is

given
to
the
awards
by

Herrick.
She
was
once
the
director
of
the
Academy
and
she
once
said
that
the
little
gold
statue
(雕像)
reminded
her
of
her
uncle
Oscar!
The
Oscar
is
always
an
exciting
event.
Each
year,
at
least
one
unusual
thing
happens.
When
the
Italian
actor
and
director
Roberto
Benigni
won
an
Oscar
for
best
foreign
film,
he
danced
on
stage!
When
Gwyneth

won
the
Oscar
for
best
actress,
she
could
not
make
her
acceptance

because
she
was

so
much
with

In
1987,
Roberto
Benigni
won
the
award
for
best
director
for
a
film
about
the
last
emperor
of
China.
Since
then,
Chinese
film
and
actors
have
started
to
make
an
influence
at
the

was
a
huge

and
it

award
for
best
foreign

film
in
2001.
It
also
won
several
technical
awards
for
its
amazing
“flying”
people.
We
expect
to
see
more
awards
for
Chinese
film
in
the
near
future.
The
aim
of
the
Oscar
is
to
encourage
the
creation
and
development
of
excellent
movie.
It
is
not
only
the
most
important
activity
for
American
film
industry,
but
also
attracted
world
attention.
It’s
time
for
the
Oscar
again.
Once
more,
the
stars
will
dress
up
in
their
finest
and
go
to
Kodar
Theater.
There,
they
will
find
out
who
had
won
the
awards
for
best
actor,
best
actress
and
best
director.
Millions
of
people
watch
the
awards
every
year
to
find
out
who
the
winners
are.
Some
people
watch
it
to
see
the
stars
crying
and
laughing
as
they
receive
their
awards.

were
the

called
