  Have
you
heard
of
Bali,
a
place
south
of
Indonesia?
It’s
a
small
island,
but
it’s
becoming
more
famous
through
its
fascinating
tourist
attractions,
which
have
been
enjoyed
by
hundreds
of
thousands
of
people
from
all
around
the
world.
Bali
is
so
picturesque
that
you
could
be
fooled
into
thinking
it
was
a
painted
backdrop:
rice
fields
sit
upon
hillsides
like
giant
stairs,
volcanoes
soar
through
the
clouds,
the
forests
are
lush
and
tropical,
and
the
beaches
are
surrounded
by
the
warm
waters
of
the
Indian
Ocean.
In
terms
of
weather,
the
cooler
dry
season
from
April
to
October
is
the
best
time
to
visit
Bali.
The
rest
of
the
year
is
more
humid,
cloudier
and
has
more
rainstorms.
There
are
also
distinct
tourist
seasons.
The
European
summer
holidays
bring
the
biggest
crowds—July,
August
and
early
September
are
busy.
Accommodation
can
be
tight
in
these
months
and
prices
are
higher.
Balinese
festivals,
holidays
and
special
celebrations
take
place
all
the
time,
so
don’t
worry
about
timing
your
visit
according
to
local
events.
You
will
surely
enjoy
the
local
culture
and
traditional
food
there.

B
(2020·郑州高一检测)
People
often
ask
me
for
suggestions
about
how
to
learn
English.
As
for
it,
everyone
is
different.
I’ll
share
some
of
my
experience.
I
once
took
a
school
year
English
course
in
Wuhan
University,
but
I
mostly
learned
English
on
my
own.
  One
thing
I
can
tell
you
is
that,
once
you
start
learning,
you
should
try
to
think
in
English
as
much
as
you
can.
If
you
see
something
when
you’re
riding
your
bike
or
walking
down
the
street,
just
think
about
“How
would
I
say
them
in
English?

At
first,
it
might
be
with
simple
words
or
phrases,
but
later
you
should
think
about
longer
phrases
and
sentences.
Now
I
am
in
America,
and
for
most
of
the
time,
I
would
think
in
English
and
speak
it
directly.
It
is
amazing
how
much
this
helps.
  For
several
years
after
I
started
learning,
I
was
often
afraid
of
talking
with
others
in
English
because
I
did
not
want
to
make
mistakes.
Finally
I
got
it
over.
And
while
traveling
in
America,
I’d
try
to
hang
out
with
friends
who
couldn’t
speak
Chinese,
so
that
I’d
have
no
choice
but
to
speak
English.
And
I
also
decided
that
if
I
said
something
stupid
and
other
people
laughed
at
me,
then
so
be
it.
After
that,
my
English
started
improving
much
more
quickly.
  Besides,
it
may
be
a
good
idea
to
ask
your
American
friends
to
look
at
the
way
you’re
writing,
and
give
you
some
suggestions
for
improvement.
24.
How
long
did
the
author
learn
English
in
Wuhan
University?
A.
A
week.
 B.
A
Month.
 C.
A
term.
 D.
A
year.
25.
What
is
the
good
way
to
improve
your
English
according
to
the
author?
A.
Reading
English
books.
B.
Thinking
in
English.
C.
Watching
English
films.
D.
Learning
English
grammar.
26.
Where
did
the
author
improve
his
English
quickly?
A.
In
America.
B.
In
China.
C.
In
the
university.
D.
In
the
middle
school.
27.
What
is
the
best
title
for
the
text?
A.
My
University
Life
B.
American
English
C.
My
English
Learning
Experience
D.
The
Importance
of
Learning
English
C
It
can
be
really
hard
to
learn
a
new
language.
I
had
always
enjoyed
learning
languages
in
school,
but
only
recently
did
I
start
learning
German.
I
found
that
I
could
understand
and
learn
individual
words
easily,
but
when
it
came
to
literature,
I
really
struggled.
That
was
when
my
tutor
at
university
suggested
reading
some
children’s
books
printed
in
the
target
language.
  At
first,
I
felt
a
bit
silly
going
on
a
hunt
for
a
book
designed
for
someone
half
my
age,
but
then
I
realised
that
everyone
has
to
start
somewhere.
As
children,
we
are
given
these
basic
texts
to
familiarise
our
brains
with
certain
vocabulary
and
writing
structures,
and
from
there,
we
can
learn
and
develop.
I
started
with
books
which
are
taught
to
us
as
children
in
the
UK.
I
managed
to
find
Oliver
Twist
by
Charles
Dickens
and
James
and
the
Giant
Peach
by
Roald
Dahl.
  The
beauty
of
reading
books
that
were
introduced
to
you
as
a
child
is
that
you
are
already
familiar
with
the
plot.
Therefore
you
can
work
out
some
words
with
your
knowledge
of
the
story.
At
first,
I
used
to
read
with
the
book
in
one
hand
and
a
dictionary
in
the
other,
but
this
did
not
work
well.
The
method
I
would
recommend
is
to
read
a
chapter
first
and
at
the
end
of
that
chapter,
highlight
the
new
words
and
then
look
up
the
definitions.
If
you
can
wait
a
bit
before
using
a
dictionary,
you
may
be
surprised
what
you
can
understand
merely
from
the
context.
Additionally,
a
lot
of
children’s
books
have
pictures
which
may
give
you
a
clue
as
to
what
or
to
whom
the
passage
is
referring.
  If
you
can
find
a
translation
of
the
books
you
have
read
as
a
child,
I
would
strongly
advise
reading
those
if
you
are
a
complete
beginner.
However,
if
you
feel
a
bit
more
confident
reading
in
English,
I
would
personally
recommend
the
series
of
Harry
Potter
books
by
J.
K.
Rowling
or
any
of
the
Roald
Dahl
children’s
books.

Work
Your
Mind
  Here’s
something
to
think
about
the
next
time
you
ask
your
teacher
for
help:
struggling
with
schoolwork
on
your
own
can
help
you
learn.
According
to
a
recent
study,
the
more
you
struggle
while
you
are
learning
new
information,
the
better
you
can
remember
it
later.
  This
theory
might
surprise
you.
When
teachers
are
presenting
new
information,
they
often
give
students
lots
of
help.
But
a
new
study
shows
this
may
not
be
the
best
way
to
support
learning.
“Don’t
be
too
quick
to
get
help
when
learning
something
new,

education
expert
Manu
Kapur
told
TFK.
“Try
to
work
on
it
yourself
even
if
it
means
trying
different
ways.

  Kapur
came
up
with
the
idea
that
struggling
can
lead
to
better
learning.
Then
he
tested
it
out
on
students
in
Singapore.
He
separated
students
into
two
groups.
In
the
first
group,
students
were
asked
to
solve
math
problems
with
the
teacher’s
help.
In
the
second
group,
students
were
asked
to
solve
the
same
problems
by
helping
one
another,
instead
of
getting
help
from
the
teacher.
  With
the
teacher’s
help,
students
in
the
first
group
were
able
to
find
the
correct
answers.
Students
in
the
second
group
did
not
solve
the
problems
correctly.
But
they
did
come
up
with
a
lot
of
good
ideas.
The
students
were
then
tested
on
what
they
had
learned.
The
group
without
any
help
from
a
teacher
scored
much
higher
than
the
group
who
had
help.
Kapur
said
working
to
find
the
answers
helped
students
understand
the
process,
not
just
the
solution.
  Kapur’s
advice
for
kids
is
to
put
a
lot
of
effort
into
learning
something
new
rather
than
going
to
your
teacher
for
help.
“Simply
doing
a
little
work
or
nothing
at
all
won’t
work,

says
Kapur.
“The
struggle
needs
to
be
a
genuine
attempt
to
figure
out
or
solve
a
problem
in
as
many
ways
as
possible.

32.
What
can
you
do
when
you
have
doubt
on
schoolwork?
A.
Ask
my
teacher
for
help.
B.
Make
it
clear
by
myself.
C.
Ask
my
classmates
to
help
me.
D.
Ask
my
parents
for
help.
33.
What’s
Manu
Kapur’s
educational
idea
on
learning
new
knowledge?
A.
Give
students
much
help
as
soon
as
possible.
B.
Let
students
learn
it
by
themselves
in
one
way.
C.
Let
students
learn
it
by
themselves
in
the
same
way.
D.
Let
students
learn
it
by
themselves
in
different
ways.
34.
How
did
Kapur
check
his
idea
on
better
learning?
A.
By
asking
questions.
B.
By
solving
art
problems.
C.
By
group
comparations.
D.
By
solving
science
problems.
35.
What
is
the
most
important
in
learning
knowledge?
A.
Getting
the
teacher’s
help.
B.
Getting
the
student’s
help.
C.
Grasping
the
learning
course.
D.
Receiving
the
final
solution.

After
entering
high
school,
you
must
wonder
how
to
study
well.
Here
are
some
good
skills
for
you.
  Go
to
class.
  If
you
want
to
do
well
at
school,
going
to
class
is
the
first
step
in
studying
well.
If
you
miss
classes,
you
will
miss
what
the
teacher
thinks
is
important;
as
a
result,
you’ll
miss
what
is
the
most
likely
to
end
up
on
the
test.
 36 ?
  Take
good
notes.
  Try
not
to
write
down
everything.
 37 Write
down
unfamiliar
terms.
After
class,
review
your
notes
as
soon
as
possible.
You
can
fill
in
details
that
you
missed
and
review
the
material
while
it
is
still
fresh
on
your
mind.
?
   38 ?
  If
you
are
struggling
in
class,
talk
to
your
teacher.
He
or
she
may
be
able
to
give
you
more
help
or
tutor
you
before
or

class.
Most
teachers
have
little
sympathy(同情)
for
students
who
just
become
worried
about
failing
during
the

of
the

  Take
part
in
class

  In
order
to
learn
more
in

it
is

to
take
part
in
class
discussions.

questions
and
having
eye
contact
with
your

can
increase
your
participation(参与)
and
your
focus
during
the
class
discussion.

This
helps
you

your
point
clear
in

sure
that
everyone
is

Be
careful!
Sometimes
group

A.
Don’t
be
late
for
your

B.
Talk
to
your
teacher
if
you
need

C.
You
should
write
down
all
the
new
terms.
D.
So
if
you
want
to
study
well,
go
to
every
class.
E.
Get
students
together
who
want
to
do
well
in
class.
F.
All
you
need
is
to
put
the
main
points
in
your

G.
If
the

you’d

it
before

  After

  YouTube
hosts
millions
of
videos
of
people
attempting
dangerous
actions.
Many
of
them
are
by
kids
and
young
adults.
Some
experts
say
that
by
hosting
these
videos,
YouTube
encourages
young
viewers
to
take
deadly
risks.
Research
by
the
Centers
for
Disease
Control
and
Prevention
shows
that
more
than
180,
000
Americans
die
from
accidental
injuries
each
year.
That’s
one
person
every
three
minutes.
More
than
14,
000
of
those
killed
are
kids
under
the
age
of
19.
Is
YouTube
to
blame?
  People
have
always
found
it
interesting
to
watch
others
try
risky
things.
Audiences
are
mad
about
these
kinds
of
things.
Some
of
the
earliest
Greek
comedies
had
characters
followed
by
wild
animals
and
knocking
into
walls.
Now,
in
the
age
of
the
Internet,
anyone
with
a
camera
and
a
YouTube
account
can
create
this
kind
of
“fun”.
Many
viewers,
especially
teenagers,
are
influenced
by
what
they
see
and
want
to
try
it
themselves.
“YouTube
has
taken
the
playing
in
the
neighborhood
to
a
worldwide
level,

says
Clair
Mellenthin,
a
researcher
from
the
Centers.
  Supporters
of
YouTube
argue
that
it
isn’t
YouTube’s
responsibility
to
examine
its
content.
“Parents
should
be
the
ones
to
make
sure
that
kids
are
behaving
safely,

they
say.
In
fact,
YouTube
has
a
rule
on
content.
For
example,
dangerous
activities
that
have
a
risk
of
serious
physical
harm
or
death
are
not
allowed.
Staff
of
YouTube,
carefully
watch
the
website
24
hours
a
day,
looking
for
videos
that
are
against
their
rules.
But
is
this
enough?

  Have
you
heard
of
Bali,
a
place
south
of
Indonesia?
It’s
a
small
island,
but
it’s
becoming
more
famous
through
its
fascinating
tourist
attractions,
which
have
been
enjoyed
by
hundreds
of
thousands
of
people
from
all
around
the
world.
Bali
is
so
picturesque
that
you
could
be
fooled
into
thinking
it
was
a
painted
backdrop:
rice
fields
sit
upon
hillsides
like
giant
stairs,
volcanoes
soar
through
the
clouds,
the
forests
are
lush
and
tropical,
and
the
beaches
are
surrounded
by
the
warm
waters
of
the
Indian
Ocean.
In
terms
of
weather,
the
cooler
dry
season
from
April
to
October
is
the
best
time
to
visit
Bali.
The
rest
of
the
year
is
more
humid,
cloudier
and
has
more
rainstorms.
There
are
also
distinct
tourist
seasons.
The
European
summer
holidays
bring
the
biggest
crowds—July,
August
and
early
September
are
busy.
Accommodation
can
be
tight
in
these
months
and
prices
are
higher.
Balinese
festivals,
holidays
and
special
celebrations
take
place
all
the
time,
so
don’t
worry
about
timing
your
visit
according
to
local
events.
You
will
surely
enjoy
the
local
culture
and
traditional
food
there.

People
often
ask
me
for
suggestions
about
how
to
learn
English.
As
for
it,
everyone
is
different.
I’ll
share
some
of
my
experience.
I
once

a
school
year

Wuhan
University,
but
I
mostly
learned
English
on
my
own.
  One
thing
I
can
tell
you
is
that,
once
you
start
learning,
you
should
try
to
think
in
English
as
much
as
you
can.
If
you
see
something
when
you’re
riding
your
bike
or
walking
down
the
street,
just
think
about
“How
would
I
say
them
in
English?

At
first,
it
might
be
with
simple
words
or
phrases,
but
later
you
should
think
about
longer
phrases
and
sentences.
Now
I
am
in
America,
and
for
most
of
the
time,
I
would
think
in
English
and
speak
it
directly.
It
is
amazing
how
much
this
helps.
  For
several
years
after
I
started
learning,
I
was
often
afraid
of
talking
with
others
in
English
because
I
did
not
want
to
make
mistakes.
Finally
I
got
it
over.
And
while
traveling
in
America,
I’d
try
to
hang
out
with
friends
who
couldn’t
speak
Chinese,
so
that
I’d
have
no
choice
but
to
speak
English.
And
I
also
decided
that
if
I
said
something
stupid
and
other
people
laughed
at
me,
then
so
be
it.
After
that,
my
English
started
improving
much
more
quickly.
  Besides,
it
may
be
a
good
idea
to
ask
your
American
friends
to
look
at
the
way
you’re
writing,
and
give
you
some
suggestions
for
improvement.

C
It
can
be
really
hard
to
learn
a
new
language.
I
had
always
enjoyed
learning
languages
in
school,
but
only
recently
did
I
start
learning
German.
I
found
that
I
could
understand
and
learn
individual
words
easily,
but
when
it
came
to
literature,
I
really
struggled.
That
was
when
my
tutor
at
university
suggested
reading
some
children’s
books
printed
in
the
target
language.
  At
first,
I
felt
a
bit
silly
going
on
a
hunt
for
a
book
designed
for
someone
half
my
age,
but
then
I
realised
that
everyone
has
to
start
somewhere.
As
children,
we
are
given
these
basic
texts
to
familiarise
our
brains
with
certain
vocabulary
and
writing
structures,
and
from
there,
we
can
learn
and
develop.
I
started
with
books
which
are
taught
to
us
as
children
in
the
UK.
I
managed
to
find
Oliver
Twist
by
Charles
Dickens
and
James
and
the
Giant
Peach
by
Roald
Dahl.
  The
beauty
of
reading
books
that
were
introduced
to
you
as
a
child
is
that
you
are
already
familiar
with
the
plot.
Therefore
you
can
work
out
some
words
with
your
knowledge
of
the
story.
At
first,
I
used
to
read
with
the
book
in
one
hand
and
a
dictionary
in
the
other,
but
this
did
not
work
well.
The
method
I
would
recommend
is
to
read
a
chapter
first
and
at
the
end
of
that
chapter,
highlight
the
new
words
and
then
look
up
the
definitions.
If
you
can
wait
a
bit
before
using
a
dictionary,
you
may
be
surprised
what
you
can
understand
merely
from
the
context.
Additionally,
a
lot
of
children’s
books
have
pictures
which
may
give
you
a
clue
as
to
what
or
to
whom
the
passage
is
referring.
  If
you
can
find
a
translation
of
the
books
you
have
read
as
a
child,
I
would
strongly
advise
reading
those
if
you
are
a
complete
beginner.
However,
if
you
feel
a
bit
more
confident
reading
in
English,
I
would
personally
recommend
the
series
of
Harry
Potter
books
by
J.
K.
Rowling
or
any
of
the
Roald
Dahl
children’s
books.

Work
Your
Mind
  Here’s
something
to
think
about
the
next
time
you
ask
your
teacher
for
help:
struggling
with
schoolwork
on
your
own
can
help
you
learn.
According
to
a
recent
study,
the
more
you
struggle
while
you
are
learning
new
information,
the
better
you
can
remember
it
later.
  This
theory
might
surprise
you.
When
teachers
are
presenting
new
information,
they
often
give
students
lots
of
help.
But
a
new
study
shows
this
may
not
be
the
best
way
to
support
learning.
“Don’t
be
too
quick
to
get
help
when
learning
something
new,

education
expert
Manu
Kapur
told
TFK.
“Try
to
work
on
it
yourself
even
if
it
means
trying
different
ways.

  Kapur
came
up
with
the
idea
that
struggling
can
lead
to
better
learning.
Then
he
tested
it
out
on
students
in
Singapore.
He
separated
students
into
two
groups.
In
the
first
group,
students
were
asked
to
solve
math
problems
with
the
teacher’s
help.
In
the
second
group,
students
were
asked
to
solve
the
same
problems
by
helping
one
another,
instead
of
getting
help
from
the
teacher.
  With
the
teacher’s
help,
students
in
the
first
group
were
able
to
find
the
correct
answers.
Students
in
the
second
group
did
not
solve
the
problems
correctly.
But
they
did
come
up
with
a
lot
of
good
ideas.
The
students
were
then
tested
on
what
they
had
learned.
The
group
without
any
help
from
a
teacher
scored
much
higher
than
the
group
who
had
help.
Kapur
said
working
to
find
the
answers
helped
students
understand
the
process,
not
just
the
solution.
  Kapur’s
advice
for
kids
is
to
put
a
lot
of
effort
into
learning
something
new
rather
than
going
to
your
teacher
for
help.
“Simply
doing
a
little
work
or
nothing
at
all
won’t
work,

says
Kapur.
“The
struggle
needs
to
be
a
genuine
attempt
to
figure
out
or
solve
a
problem
in
as
many
ways
as
possible.
