here
for
two

before
we
pick
her
up,
Margret.
3.答案:B

who
I
should
contact

M:
Oh,

You
started
work
with
us
last
month,
didn't
you?
Have
you

We

take
traveler's

M:

5.答案:C

I
heard
your
area
was
hit
by
a

the
other

W:
That's
right.
Our
neighborhood
got
the
worst
of
it;
our

was
cut
off
for
several
days.
M:
That

have
been
tough.

Well,

at
7:10
am
from
Terminal

the

the
meetings,
you'll
have
some
time
for
afternoon
tea.
Your
flight
back
will
leave
at
5:00
pm.
It
gets
back
here
at
6:30

M:
That's
fine.
Then
I'll
be
able
to
have
dinner
with
my
wife.
答案:8-10.AAB
解析:W:
Can
I
see
your
license,
please?
M:
What's
the
matter,
officer?
Did
I
do
something
wrong?
W:
You
were
speeding.
M:
I
was
speeding?
W:
You
certainly
were.
Do
you
have
any
idea
how
fast
you
were
going?
M:
I'm
not
sure.
But
I
think
I
was
going
about
35.
W:
This
street
is
a
25
mile-per-hour-speed
zone,
you
know?
M:
It
is.
W:
In
this
state,
the
speed
limit
in
business
areas
is
25.
Didn't
you
see
all
the
signs
all
along
the
street?
M:
I'm
sorry,
officer.
I
guess
I
didn't
notice.
I
was
busy
thinking
of
my
job
interview.
You
see
it's
my
first
time
here.
W:
Well,
since
it's
your
first
time
in
this
city,
I'll
just
give
you
a
warning
this
time.
But
be
careful
not
to
speed
again.
答案:11.A;1
2.B;
13.C
解析:
W:
How
can
I
help
you,
Mr
Daniels?
M:
Well,
I
started
having
headaches
a
couple
of
weeks
ago
and
they're
getting
worse.
I
can't
sleep
properly.
I
feel
tired
all
the
time.
And
the
worst
thing
is
my
hair
is
going
grey
and
I'm
only
30.
W:
I
see.
Let
me
ask
you
some
questions.
Do
you
smoke?
M:
No.
I
gave
it
up
a
month
ago.
W:
Right.
I
see
you're
a
salesman.
How
many
hours
a
week
do
you
work?
M:
Normally,
I
do
eight
hours
a
day.
But
at
the
moment
I'm
working
at
least
10
hours
and
some
Saturdays.
W:
That's
too
much.
What
do
you
do
when
you
don't
have
to
work?
M:
Well,
I
usually
sit
in
front
of
the
TV
with
a
sandwich
and
a
few
beers.
W:
Hmm.
Do
you
do
any
exercise
at
the
moment?
M:
Not
really.
But
I'm
losing
a
lot
of
weight
and
I
don't
know
why.
W:
I
think
you
are
suffering
from
overwork.
I
want
you
to
eat
a
wider
variety
of
food
and
do
some
exercise.
Come
back
and
see
me
in
four
weeks
and
I'll
give
you
a
check-up.
答案:14-16.AAC
解析:M:
So,
what's
your
plan
for
this
weekend?
W:
I
just
want
to
stay
at
home.
M:
How
about
going
to
see
a
movie?
W:
Sorry.
I've
been
tired
these
days.
I
just
want
to
have
a
good
rest.
M:
But
I
think
going
to
movies
is
a
better
way
to
relax
yourself.
W:
You're
probably
right.
M:
Maybe
we
should
go
out
to
eat
first.
W:
Yeah,
I
think
so.
M:
I
know
pizza's
been
your
favorite.
Let's
meet
at
Summer
Pizza
House.
I
heard
they
just
came
up
with
a
new
pizza.
W:
Really?
I
haven't
been
there
for
a
long
time.
When
shall
we
meet?
M:
Well.
The
movie
is
at
2
p.m.
and
4
p.m.
W:
Why
don't
we
go
to
the
2
p.m.
show?
M:
No
problem.
We
can
meet
at
Summer
Pizza
House
at
11
a.m.
W:
Perfect.
If
so,
we
can
have
plenty
of
time
to
enjoy
our
pizza.
答案:17.A;
18.B;
19.A;
20.B
解析:
M:Color
plays
an
essential
role
in
our
life.
For
example,
color
is
used
to
communicate
life-saving
information.
To
the
driver
of
a
vehicle,
the
green
color
means
go
and
the
red
color
means
stop.
You
should
always
pull
up
when
the
traffic
lights
turn
red.
Besides,
colors
can
irritate
your
eyes,
increase
your
appetite,
or
even
change
your
mood.
A
delicious
meal
with
appropriate
colors
can
certainly
make
your
mouth
water.
Good
colors
also
help
us
in
many
other
ways.
Statistics
show
that
in
a
sports
competition
a
team
wearing
red
has
a
higher
chance
of
winning.
Of
course,
it
is
largely
due
to
the
psychology
of
wearing
red.
Luck
and
ability
can
be
more
important.
For
animals,
colors
reflect
their
environment
and
their
characteristics.
For
instance,
a
male
peacock
has
its
tail
feathers
of
bright
colors
to
win
the
attention
of
female
peacocks.
People
often
think
that
a
rainbow
is
the
most
colorful,
but
for
our
artists,
all
they
need
are
three
colors,
namely,
red,
blue
and
yellow.
They
are
called
the
primary
colors,
colors
that
can
not
be
made
by
mixing
others
together.
And
our
artists
can
mix
them
together
to
create
any
color
in
the
rainbow
and
hundreds
of
other
shades
in
making
art.

23.Which
of
the
following
best
describes
the

Meat?
A.Fresh.
B.Green.
C.Expensive.
D.Personalized.
解析:选B 推理判断题。根据

enhance
natural
grazing
(放牧)
to
improve
animal

B
When
a
friend
comes
to
you
after
a
stressful
day,
how
do
you
comfort
him?
Do
you
let
him
complain?
Do
you
pour
him
a
glass
of
coffee?
Those
could
work.
But
a
new
study
finds
that
a
very
effective
technique
is
also
simple
and
easy
—
hugging.
“Individuals
who
reported
noticing
the
availability
of
a
network
of
supportive
individuals
tend
to
show
better
adaptation
when
faced
with
stress.
But
just
because
you
have
a
support
network
does
not
mean
that
you
absolutely
feel
that
support,”
said
Michael
Murphy,
a
psychology
expert
at
Carnegie
Mellon
University
in
Pittsburgh.
He
wanted
to
know
if
people
who
received
hugs
regularly
could
handle
anxiety
and
stress
better.
So
Murphy
and
his
team
interviewed
404
men
and
women
every
evening
for
two
weeks.
During
these
interviews,
the
participants
were
asked
a
simple
yes
or
no
question
—
whether
somebody
had
hugged
them
that
day
—
and
a
simple
yes
or
no
question
of
whether
they
had
experienced
conflict
with
somebody
that
day.
They
also
were
asked
to
respond
to
questions
about
negative
and
positive
mood
states.
And
the
researchers
found
that
people
who
experienced
a
conflict
were
not
as
negatively
affected
if
they
received
a
hug
that
day
as
participants
who
experienced
conflict
and
didn't
get
a
hug.
And
they
were
also
found
not
to
carry
the
negative
effect
to
the
next
day,
while
those
who
did
not
receive
one
would.
The
findings
are
in
PLOS
ONE.
Murphy
does
include
this
warning:“So
our
findings
should
not
be
taken
as
proof
that
people
should
just
start
hugging
anyone
and
everyone
who
seems
upset.
A
hug
from
one
boss
at
work
or
a
stranger
on
the
street
could
be
viewed
as
neither
agreeable
nor
positive.”
语篇解读:本文是一篇说明文。文章主要介绍了心理学家Michael

24.What
does
Paragraph

A.A
lead?in.
B.A
background.
C.An

D.A
summary.
解析:选A 篇章结构题。第一段通过举例和三个问题引出本文的主题“拥抱”,因此第一段充当了引子。故选A项。
25.Why
did
the
researchers
interview
those
people?
A.To
find
out
causes
of
their

B.To
test
the

of
hugging.
C.To
ask
for

on
relieving

D.To

解析:选B 细节理解题。根据第二段中的“He
wanted
to
know
if
people
who
received
hugs
regularly
could
handle
anxiety
and
stress
better”可知,研究者进行这项实验(采访)的目的是看看人们获得拥抱后是否能够更好地应对焦虑和压力,故B项“为了检验拥抱的作用”正确。

refer
to?
A.404
interviewees.
B.Murphy
and
his
team.
C.Participants
getting
a
hug.
D.People
receiving
no
hugs.
解析:选C 代词指代题。根据画线词前一句和后面的“while
those
who
did
not
receive
one
would”可知,与他人发生过冲突后,获得拥抱的人比那些没有得到拥抱的人受到的负面影响小,他们第二天也不再携带负面情绪,而那些没有获得拥抱的人则不然。故they指代那些获得了拥抱的人。
27.What
do
Murphy's
words
warn
in
the
end?
A.The
interview
results
prove
their
findings.
B.A
boss
should
comfort
workers
by
hugging.
C.People
should
hug
others
regularly
and
actively.
D.There
are
some
limitations
of
their
findings.
解析:选D 推理判断题。根据最后一段中Murphy的话可知,工作中老板的拥抱和来自大街上陌生人的拥抱并不能带来积极的影响,即Murphy表明他们的发现是有局限性的,故选D项。
C
Every
morning
I
walk
outside
and
bring
the
morning
newspaper
in.
There
was
a
time
when
every
house
on
both
sides
of
the
street
had
a
newspaper
in
the
driveway.
There
was
also
a
time
when
every
house
had
a
landline
telephone,
but
not
anymore.
Not
for
a
long
time.
My
husband
is
less
willing
to
accept
the
downward
trend
of
printed
newspapers,
as
he
has
worked
in
newspapers
since
the
age
of
16.Even
before
that,
he
was
what
you
would
call
an
“independent
publisher”.
Recently,
we
were
at
a
Chicago
park
with
our
grandchildren.
My
husband
had
a
newspaper
folded
under
his
arm.
He
sat
down
and
put
the
paper
on
the
bench
beside
him.
A
young
girl
walked
over,
looked
at
the
newspaper,
picked
it
up
and
asked,
“What’s
this?”
I
thought
he
was
going
to
fall
over.
The
color
faded
from
his
face.
His
eyes
rolled
back
in
his
head
and
his_legs_were_giving_out.
I
rolled
up
his
paper
and
waved
it
under
his
nose.
The
smells
from
the
ink
woke
him
up.
Some
people
simply
love
papers
—
the
feel,
the
portability,
and
the
pleasure
of
piling
them
higher
and
higher
until
their
wife
cries,
“Enough!”
My
husband
was
happy
when
he
spent
time
with
our
youngest
daughter
and
her
husband.
When
they
lived
with
us,
they
raced
to
pull
the
crossword
puzzle
from
the
paper
every
day.
But
it’s
hard
to
do
a
crossword
online.
Now
my
husband
will
be
very
excited
that
I
have
found
further
proof
that
there
may
still
be
hope
for
the
survival
of
printed
newspapers.
I
was
chatting
with
a
young
mother
who
subscribes
to
the
daily
newspaper.
I
asked
why
she
did
something
so
conservative.
She
looked
shocked.
“Because
it’s
printed!”
she
said.
“I
love
the
printed!
When
the
paper
didn’t
come
one
day,
would
you
believe
I
called
to
let
them
know
and
the
lady
said,
‘Why
don’t
you
just
subscribe
to
the
online
version?’”
She
shook
her
head
in
disbelief.
My
husband
will
be
so
thrilled
that
he
might
write
this
young
woman
into
his
will.I
say
we
leave
her
all
our
piles
of
old
newspapers.

lost
his
balance
and
became

us
with
the
example
of

young

have
found
further
proof
that

be
hope
for
the
survival
of
printed
newspapers.”可以推断,作者举这个年轻妈妈的例子是为了说明仍然有年轻人喜欢纸质报纸,故选C。

the
author
mainly
talk
about
in
the
passage?
A.The
new
rise
of
digital
newspapers.
B.A

love
for
printed
newspapers.
C.The
pleasure
of
looking
through
daily
newspapers.
D.A
family’s
memory
of
reading
printed
newspapers.
解析:选B 主旨大意题。根据第二段的内容可知,作者的丈夫从16岁起就开始从事报纸方面的工作;文章接着主要通过三件事(作者的丈夫对一个女孩不知道什么是纸质报感到震惊;小女儿和女婿争做纸质报上的纵横填字游戏时,丈夫很高兴;当作者找到更多的证据证明纸质报纸仍然有生存下去的希望时,作者的丈夫会很兴奋)讲述了作者的丈夫对于纸质报的永恒的热爱,故选B。

How
to
Cultivate
Confidence?
When
faced
with
a
big
challenge
where
potential
failure
seems
to
appear
at
every
corner,
maybe
you’ll
hear
this
advice:
Be
more
confident.
36
Take
the
belief
that
you
are
precious
and
capable,
also
known
as
self?esteem.
Confidence
turns
thoughts
into
action.
It
comes
from
the
genes
you
are
born
with,
the
way
people
get
used
to
treating
you
as
well
as
the
choices
you
make.
While
it
isn’t
possible
to
completely
separate
these
three
factors,
the
personal
choices
we
make
obviously
play
a
major
role
in
confidence
development.
As
a
result,
by
keeping
certain
practical
tips
in
mind,
we
do
actually
have
the
power
to
cultivate
our
own
confidence.
37
If
you’re
looking
for
a
long?term
change,
consider
the
way
you
think
about
your
abilities
and
talents.
Do
you
think
they
are
fixed
at
birth,
or
that
they
can
be
developed?
These
beliefs
matter
because
they
can
influence
how
you
act
in
the
face
of
setbacks.
If
you
have
a
fixed
mindset,
meaning
that
your
talents
are
locked
in
the
place,
you
might
give
up,
assuming
you’ve
discovered
something
you’re
not
good
at.
But
if
you
have
a
growth
mindset,
and
think
your
abilities
can
improve,
a
challenge
will
become
an
opportunity
to
learn
and
grow.
Neuroscience
(神经科学)
supports
the
latter.
The
connections
in
your
brain
do
get
stronger
and
grow
with
study
and
practice.
38
Practicing
failure
is
a
must.
Failure
happens.

语篇解读:文章主要介绍了两条非常实用的培养自信心的建议:第一,相信自己的能力可以提高;第二,从失败中汲取经验教训。
36.选A 前一句给出要更加自信的建议,后一句是说相信自己是有价值的,有能力的,这也是自尊,故A项“但是什么是自信?”衔接上下文,符合语境。

38.选G 根据上文中的“But
if
you
have
a
growth
mindset
...grow
with
study
and
practice.”可知,如果你有成长的心态,认为你的能力可以提高,一项挑战将变成学习和成长的机会,你大脑里的联系就会更强并且随着学习和练习而增加,由此可知,空处应是进一步说明有成长心态的人的优势,故G项符合语境。
39.选C 空前一句是说失败很常见,空后两句又举例说明一些名人在成功前遭遇的失败,故C项“每个人都有可能经历失败”衔接上下文,符合语境。
40.选E 空前一句是说那些经常失败但一直坚持的人会积极应对挑战,故E项“他们学着尝试不同的策略并坚持不懈”符合语境。

D.reply
解析:选C 根据上文中的“whenever
I
prepared
for
a
presentation”,并结合本空前的“walking
to
the
front”可推知,作者害怕的不是准备专题研究的辛苦而是去教室前面展示自己。
52.A.held
B.put
C.broke
D.seemed
解析:选D 奇怪的是一种单一的情绪对于作者来讲似乎是一种灾难。这与上文提到的作者一做展示就焦虑不安的状况呼应。
53.A.awful
B.familiar
C.practical
D.natural
解析:选A 根据该句中的“everyone
gets
nervous
and
public
speaking
is
the
number
one
fear”可推知,这听起来并没有什么可怕的,每一个人都会焦虑,而且公开演讲是最令人害怕的。awful“可怕的”。
54.A.Therefore
B.Moreover
C.However
D.Otherwise
解析:选C 根据上句中的“everyone
gets
nervous
and
public
speaking
is
the
number
one
fear”和本句中的“social
anxiety
isn’t
just
a
fear
of
public
speaking”可推知,该处与上文为逻辑上的转折关系。
55.A.reduce
B.cause
C.handle
D.remove
解析:选B 对于某些人来讲,参加一场考试或者做出一个退出某个组织的决定都可能导致焦虑。
56.A.fond
B.aware
C.proud
D.scared
解析:选D 根据上文中的“the
number
one
fear”可推知,对于作者来讲,焦虑就是恐惧尝试新事物。
57.A.boring
B.successful
C.busy
D.private
解析:选A 根据本句中的“worse”,并结合选项可推知,此处指比原本就枯燥无聊的生活更糟。
58.A.show
off
B.give
up
C.get
along
D.set
out
解析:选B 根据下一句“And
I
also
made
some
friends
in
my
class.”,并结合该句中的“After
accepting
that
this
is
just
me”可推知,作者认清了自己的性格之后,并没有因为自己的缺点而放弃,而是逐步地自我改善,这与下文中的“I’m
now
improving
little
by
little”呼应。
59.A.assistance
B.interest
C.experience
D.confidence
解析:选D 根据该句中的“even”并结合选项可推知,作者现在即使在对答案并不那么自信的情况下也举手发言。
60.A.professional
B.aggressive
C.reserved
D.consistent
解析:选C 根据上文可知,作者很害怕公开演讲,展示时会焦虑,由此可推知,作者在参与班级活动时,比其他同学更矜持。reserved“矜持的,内向的”,故选C。aggressive“侵略的,好斗的”;consistent“始终如一的,一致的”。

When
a
friend
comes
to
you
after
a
stressful
day,
how
do
you
comfort
him?
Do
you
let
him
complain?
Do
you
pour
him
a
glass
of
coffee?
Those
could
work.
But
a
new
study
finds
that
a
very
effective
technique
is
also
simple
and
easy
—
hugging.
“Individuals
who
reported
noticing
the
availability
of
a
network
of
supportive
individuals
tend
to
show
better
adaptation
when
faced
with
stress.
But
just
because
you
have
a
support
network
does
not
mean
that
you
absolutely
feel
that
support,”
said
Michael
Murphy,
a
psychology
expert
at
Carnegie
Mellon
University
in
Pittsburgh.
He
wanted
to
know
if
people
who
received
hugs
regularly
could
handle
anxiety
and
stress
better.
So
Murphy
and
his
team
interviewed
404
men
and
women
every
evening
for
two
weeks.
During
these
interviews,
the
participants
were
asked
a
simple
yes
or
no
question
—
whether
somebody
had
hugged
them
that
day
—
and
a
simple
yes
or
no
question
of
whether
they
had
experienced
conflict
with
somebody
that
day.
They
also
were
asked
to
respond
to
questions
about
negative
and
positive
mood
states.
And
the
researchers
found
that
people
who
experienced
a
conflict
were
not
as
negatively
affected
if
they
received
a
hug
that
day
as
participants
who
experienced
conflict
and
didn't
get
a
hug.
And
they
were
also
found
not
to
carry
the
negative
effect
to
the
next
day,
while
those
who
did
not
receive
one
would.
The
findings
are
in
PLOS
ONE.
Murphy
does
include
this
warning:“So
our
findings
should
not
be
taken
as
proof
that
people
should
just
start
hugging
anyone
and
everyone
who
seems
upset.
A
hug
from
one
boss
at
work
or
a
stranger
on
the
street
could
be
viewed
as
neither
agreeable
nor
positive.”

Every
morning
I
walk
outside
and
bring
the
morning
newspaper
in.
There
was
a
time
when
every
house
on
both
sides
of
the
street
had
a
newspaper
in
the
driveway.
There
was
also
a
time
when
every
house
had
a
landline
telephone,
but
not
anymore.
Not
for
a
long
time.
My
husband
is
less
willing
to
accept
the
downward
trend
of
printed
newspapers,
as
he
has
worked
in
newspapers
since
the
age
of
16.Even
before
that,
he
was
what
you
would
call
an
“independent
publisher”.
Recently,
we
were
at
a
Chicago
park
with
our
grandchildren.
My
husband
had
a
newspaper
folded
under
his
arm.
He
sat
down
and
put
the
paper
on
the
bench
beside
him.
A
young
girl
walked
over,
looked
at
the
newspaper,
picked
it
up
and
asked,
“What’s
this?”
I
thought
he
was
going
to
fall
over.
The
color
faded
from
his
face.
His
eyes
rolled
back
in
his
head
and
his_legs_were_giving_out.
I
rolled
up
his
paper
and
waved
it
under
his
nose.
The
smells
from
the
ink
woke
him
up.
Some
people
simply
love
papers
—
the
feel,
the
portability,
and
the
pleasure
of
piling
them
higher
and
higher
until
their
wife
cries,
“Enough!”
My
husband
was
happy
when
he
spent
time
with
our
youngest
daughter
and
her
husband.
When
they
lived
with
us,
they
raced
to
pull
the
crossword
puzzle
from
the
paper
every
day.
But
it’s
hard
to
do
a
crossword
online.
Now
my
husband
will
be
very
excited
that
I
have
found
further
proof
that
there
may
still
be
hope
for
the
survival
of
printed
newspapers.
I
was
chatting
with
a
young
mother
who
subscribes
to
the
daily
newspaper.
I
asked
why
she
did
something
so
conservative.
She
looked
shocked.
“Because
it’s
printed!”
she
said.
“I
love
the
printed!
When
the
paper
didn’t
come
one
day,
would
you
believe
I
called
to
let
them
know
and
the
lady
said,
‘Why
don’t
you
just
subscribe
to
the
online
version?’”
She
shook
her
head
in
disbelief.
My
husband
will
be
so
thrilled
that
he
might
write
this
young
woman
into
his
will.I
say
we
leave
her
all
our
piles
of
old
newspapers.
28.How
did
the
author’s
husband
feel
when
a
girl
asked
a
question
in
the
park?
A.Shocked.
B.Thrilled.
C.Disappointed.
D.Confused.
29.What
does
the
author
probably
mean
by
saying
“his
legs
were
giving
out”?
A.He
was
feeling
tired

A
Japanese
telecom
company
has
released
a
robot
that
is
said
to
have
emotions.But
rather
than
run
it
in
fear,
we’ve
welcomed
it
into
our
homes:
Pepper,
the
“emotional
robot”,sold
out
within
a
minute
of
going
on
sale.
Created
by
Aldebaran
Robotics
and
Japanese
mobile
giant
SoftBank,
Pepper
went
on
sale
to
the
general
public
in
Japan
on
June
20.“It
is
the
first
humanoid
robot
designed
to
live
with
humans,”
Aldebaran
says
on
its
website.Pepper
costs
about
D|S1,600.And
like
all
good
mobile
products,
there’s
a
D|S120
per
month
data
fee,
as
well
as
an
D|S80
per
month
damage
insurance
fee.According
to
a
news
release,
Pepper
can
pick
up
on
human
emotions
and
create
its
own
using
a
“multi?layer
neural
(神经的)
network.”Pepper’s
touch
sensors
and
cameras
are
said
to
influence
its
mood,
which
is
displayed
on
the
tablet?sized
screen
on
its
chest.
Pepper
will
sigh
when
unhappy,
and
can
go
around
your
house
recording
your
family’s
daily
activity.Aldebaran
says
Pepper
can
feel
“joy,
surprise,
anger,
doubt
and
sadness”,but
it
doesn’t
say
how
strongly
it
can
feel
these
emotions.What
happens
when
Pepper
is
having
a
bad
day?
Will
it,
like
many
humans,
become
uncooperative?
Will
it
ask
for
some
time
alone?
What
happens
if
it
figures
out
that
its
purpose
in
life
is
just
to
engage
in
small
talks?
Thankfully,
Pepper
is
only
about
four
feet
tall,
with
roller
balls
instead
of
legs,
so
if
it
is
angry
with
and
even
turns
on
its
owners,
you’ll
be
safe
if
you
can
make
it
upstairs.
Aldebaran
says,
in
reality,
they’re
probably
quite
a
few
decades
away
from
artificial
intelligence
that
could
generate
real
emotions.Aldebaran
wasn’t
immediately
available
for
comment
on
when
Pepper
will
be
available
outside
of
Japan,
but
additional
sales
are
scheduled
for
July
after
the
first
1,000
units
sell
out.SoftBank
currently
uses
the
robots
in
its
stores
as
greeters,
and
it
plans
to
offer
Pepper
to
other
stores
in
the
future.Hopefully,
“boredom”
is
not
an
emotion
Pepper
can
feel.
32.What
can
we
learn
about
Pepper
according
to
the
author?
A.It
is
very
popular
among
customers.

can
not
only
run
but
also
show
fear.
C.It
is
going
to
be
sold
all
over
the
world.
D.It
can
deal
with
many
kinds
of
housework.
33.How
much
do
you
need
to
pay
for
Pepper’s
data
and
damage
insurance
fee
each
year?
A.80
dollars.
B.120
dollars.
C.1,440
dollars.
D.2,400
dollars.
34.Why
are
Pepper’s
height
and
roller
balls
mentioned?
A.To
introduce
its
appearance.

tell
Pepper
won’t
get
angry.
C.To
show
that
safety
isn’t
a
big
issue.
D.To
explain
robots
have
strong
emotions.
35.What
can
we
infer
from
the
last
paragraph?
A.Pepper
cannot
produce
real
emotions.
B.Pepper
can
feel
joy,
surprise
and
boredom.
C.Pepper
will
be
sold
in
other
countries
next

How
to
Cultivate
Confidence?
When
faced
with
a
big
challenge
where
potential
failure
seems
to
appear
at
every
corner,
maybe
you’ll
hear
this
advice:
Be
more
confident.
36
Take
the
belief
that
you
are
precious
and
capable,
also
known
as
self?esteem.
Confidence
turns
thoughts
into
action.
It
comes
from
the
genes
you
are
born
with,
the
way
people
get
used
to
treating
you
as
well
as
the
choices
you
make.
While
it
isn’t
possible
to
completely
separate
these
three
factors,
the
personal
choices
we
make
obviously
play
a
major
role
in
confidence
development.
As
a
result,
by
keeping
certain
practical
tips
in
mind,
we
do
actually
have
the
power
to
cultivate
our
own
confidence.
37
If
you’re
looking
for
a
long?term
change,
consider
the
way
you
think
about
your
abilities
and
talents.
Do
you
think
they
are
fixed
at
birth,
or
that
they
can
be
developed?
These
beliefs
matter
because
they
can
influence
how
you
act
in
the
face
of
setbacks.
If
you
have
a
fixed
mindset,
meaning
that
your
talents
are
locked
in
the
place,
you
might
give
up,
assuming
you’ve
discovered
something
you’re
not
good
at.
But
if
you
have
a
growth
mindset,
and
think
your
abilities
can
improve,
a
challenge
will
become
an
opportunity
to
learn
and
grow.
Neuroscience
(神经科学)
supports
the
latter.
The
connections
in
your
brain
do
get
stronger
and
grow
with
study
and
practice.
38
Practicing
failure
is
a
must.
Failure
happens.
39
J.K.
Rowling
was
rejected
by
twelve
different
publishers
before
one
picked
up
Harry
Potter.
The
Wright
brothers
built
on
history’s
failed
attempts
at
flight
before
designing
a
successful
airplane.
Studies
show
that
those
who
fail
regularly
and
keep
trying
anyway
are
better
equipped
to
respond
to
challenges
in
constructive
ways.
40
So,
think
of
a
challenge
you
want
to
take
on,
realize
it’s
not
going
to
be
easy,
accept
that
you’ll
make
mistakes,
and
be
kind
to
yourself
when
you
do.
You’ll
feel
the
excitement,
knowing
that
whatever
the
result,
you’ll
have
gained
greater
knowledge
and
understanding.
A.But
what
is
confidence?
B.So
can
confidence
be
easily
cultivated?
C.Everyone
is
likely
to
encounter
failure.
D.Being
a
talented
person
is
quite
necessary.
E.They
learn
to
try
different
strategies
and
persevere.
F.Believing
in
your
abilities
to
improve
is
the
first
step.
G.It
also
turns
out
that
people
with
a
growth
mindset
are
better
at
dealing
with
challenges.
