第二部分:阅读理解(共两节,满分50分)
第一节(共15小题;每小题2.5分,满分37.5分)
A
One
morning
more
than
thirty
years
ago,
I
entered
the
Track
Kitchen,
a
restaurant
where
everyone
from
the
humblest(卑微的)
to
the
most
powerful
came
for
breakfast.
I
noticed
an
empty
chair
next
to
an
elderly,
unshaven
man,
who
looked
somewhat
disheveled.
He
was
wearing
a
worn-out
hat
and
was
alone.
I
asked
if
I
might
join
him.
He
agreed
quietly
and
I
sat
down
to
have
my
breakfast.
We
cautiously
began
a
conversation
and
spoke
about
a
wide
range
of
things.
We
never
introduced
ourselves.
I
was
concerned
that
he
might
have
no
money
and
not
be
able
to
afford
something
to
eat.
So
as
I
rose
to
go
back
to
the
counter
and
buy
a
second
cup
of
coffee,
I
asked,
“May
I
get
you
something
?”
“A
coffee
would
be
nice.”
Then
I
bought
him
a
cup
of
coffee,
We
talked
more,
and
he
accepted
another
cup
of
coffee,
Finally,
I
rose
to
leave,
wished
him
well,
and
headed
for
the
exit.
At
the
door
I
met
one
of
my
friends.
He
asked,
“How
did
you
get
to
know
Mr.
Galbreath
?”
“Who?”
“The
man
you
were
sitting
with.
He
is
chairman
of
the
Board
of
Churchill
Downs.”
I
could
hardly
believe
it.
I
was
buying,
offering
a
free
breakfast,
and
feeling
pity
for
one
of
the
world’s
richest
and
most
powerful
men!
My
few
minutes
with
Mr.
Galbreath
changed
my
life.
Now
I
try
to
treat
everyone
with
respect,
no
matter
who
I
think
they
are,
and
no
matter
another
human
being
with
kindness
and
sincerity.

B
Growing
up
in
Philadelphia,
Lieberman
started
cooking
with
his
stay-at-home
dad
when
he
was
seven.His
food-loving
family
had
two
kitchens,
and
he
quickly
learned
what
was
the
best
way
to
bake
his
cakes.Lieberman
improved
his
kitchen
skills
greatly
during
a
year
abroad
before
college,
learning
from
a
cook
in
Italy
and
studying
local
specialties(地方特色菜)in
Germany,
Spain
and
France.At
Yale,
he
was
known
for
throwing
dinner
parties,
single-handedly
frying
and
baking
while
mixing
drinks
for
dozens
of
friends.Just
for
fun,
he
and
some
friends
decided
to
tape
a
show
named
Campus
Cuisine
about
his
cooking.Lieberman
was
a
real
college
student
showing
his
classmates
how
to
do
things
like
make
drinks
out
of
dining-hall
fruit.That
helped
the
show
become
very
popular
among
the
students.They
would
stop
Lieberman
after
classes
to
ask
for
his
advice
on
cooking.Tapes
of
the
show
were
passed
around,
with
which
his
name
went
beyond
the
school
and
finally
to
the
Food
Network.
Food
Network
producer
Flay
hopes
the
young
cook
will
find
a
place
on
the
network
television.He
says
Lieberman’s
charisma
is
key.“Food
TV
isn’t
about
food
anymore,”
says
Flay.“It’s
about
your
personality(个性)and
finding
a
way
to
keep
people’s
eyeballs
on
your
show.”
But
Lieberman
isn’t
putting
all
his
eggs
in
one
basket.After
taping
the
first
season
of
the
new
show,
Lieberman
was
back
in
his
own
small
kitchen
preparing
sandwiches.An
airline
company(航空公司)was
looking
for
someone
to
come
up
with
a
tasteful,
inexpensive
and
easy-to-make
menu
to
serve
on
its
flights,
Lieberman
got
the
job.

fine
cooking
skill.
7.

did
the
airline
company
give
Lieberman
the
job?

could
prepare
meals
in
a
small
kitchen.
B.
He
was
famous

his
shows
on
Food
TV.

C
Women
are
friendly.But
men
are
more
competitive.Why?
Researchers
have
found
it's
all
down
to
the
hormone
oxytocin
(荷尔蒙催生素).Although
known
as
the
love
hormone,
it
affects
the
sexes
differently.
"Women
tend
to
be
social
in
their
behavior.They
often
share
with
others.But
men
lend
to
be
competitive.They
are
trying
to
improve
their
social
status,"
said
Professor
Ryan.
Generally,
people
believe
that
the
hormone
oxytocin
is
let
out
in
our
body
in
various
social
situations
and
our
body
creates
a
large
amount
of
it
during
positive
social
interactions
(互动)
such
as
falling
in
love
or
giving
birth.
But
in
a
previous
experiment
Professor
Ryan
found
that
the
hormone
is
also
let
out
in
our
body
during
negative
social
interactions
such
as
envy.
Further
researches
showed
that
in
men
the
hormone
oxytocin
improves
the
ability
to
recognize
competitive
relationships,
but
in
women
it
raises
the
ability
to
recognize
friendship.
Professor
Ryan's
recent
experiment
used
62
men
and
women
aged
20
to
37.Half
of
the
participants(参与者)received
oxytocin.The
other
half
received
placebo
(安慰剂).
After
a
week,
the
two
groups
switched
with
participants.They
went
through
the
same
procedure
with
the
other
material.
Following
each
treatment,
they
were
shown
some
video
pictures
with
different
social
interactions.Then
they
were
asked
to
analyze
the
relationships
by
answering
some
questions.The
questions
were
about
telling
friendship
from
competition.And
their
answers
should
be
based
on
gestures,
body
language
and
facial
expressions.
The
results
indicated
that,
after
treatment
with
oxytocin,
men's
ability
to
correctly
recognize
competitive
relationships
improved,
but
in
women
it
was
the
ability
to
correctly
recognize
friendship
that
got
better.
Professor
Ryan
thus
concluded:
"Our
experiment
proves
that
the
hormone
oxytocin
can
raise
people's
abilities
to
better
distinguish
different
social
interactions.And
the
behavior
differences
between
men
and
women
are
caused
by
biological
factors
(因素)
that
are
mainly
hormonal."
8.
What
causes
men
and
women
to
behave
differently
according
to
the
text?
A.
Placebo.
B.
Oxytocin.
C.
The
gesture.
D.
The
social
status.
9.
What
can
we
learn
from
Professor
Ryan's
previous
experiment?
A.
Oxytocin
affects
our
behavior
in
a
different
way.
B.
Our
body
lets
out
oxytocin
when
we
are
deep
in
love.
C.
Our
body
produces
oxytocin
when
we
feel
unhappy
about
others'
success.
D.
Oxytocin
improves
our
abilities
to
understand
people's
behavior
differences.
10.
Why
did
Professor
Ryan
conduct
the
recent
experiment?
A.
To
test
the
effect
of
oxytocin
on
the
ability
to
recognize
social
interactions.
B.
To
know
the
differences
between
friendship
and
competition.
C.
To
know
people's
different
abilities
to
answer
questions.
D.
To
test
people's
understanding
of
body
language.
11.
The
author
develops
the
text
by______.
A.
explaining
people's
behaviors
B.
describing
his
own
experiences
C.
distinguishing
sexual
differences
D.
discussing
research
experiments
D
When
asked
to
point
out
one
or
two
things
that
are
most
important
to
themselves,
many
put
friends
ahead
of
homes,
jobs,
clothes
and
cars.
A
true
friendship
carries
a
long
history
of
experience
that
determines
who
we
are
and
keeps
us
connected.
It
is
a
treasure
we
should
protect.
Unfortunately,
the
better
friends
you
are,
the
more
probably
you’ll
have
disagreements.
And
the
result
can
be
what
you
don’t
want

an
end
to
the
relationship.
The
good
news
is
that
most
troubled
friendships
can
be
mended.
First,
don’t
let
your
pride
get
in
your
way.
Most
of
us
can
forgive
each
other
when
differences
are
brought
out
in
the
open.
Second,
apologize
when
you’re
wrong

even
if
you’ve
been
wronged.
Over
the
course
of
a
friendship,
even
the
best
people
make
mistakes.
Sometimes,
it
may
be
best
if
the
wronged
person
takes
the
lead
and
apologizes.
When
you
apologize,
give
your
friend
a
chance
to
admit(承认)
that
he
has
been
wrong.
Third,
see
things
from
your
friend’s
point
of
view.
And
finally,
accept
that
friendships
change
as
our
needs
and
lifestyle
change.
Making
friends
can
sometimes
seem
easy.
The
hard
part
is
keeping
the
connections
strong
during
the
natural
ups
and
downs
that
have
an
effect
on
all
relationships.
My
suggestion:
consider
friendship
as
an
honor
and
a
gift,
and
worth
the
effort
to
treasure
and
nurture(培养).
12.
What
would
be
the
best
title
for
the
passage?
A.
Easy
Ways
to
Make
Friends
B.
Ups
and
Downs
in
Friendship
C.
How
to
Mend
a
Troubled
Friendship
D.
How
to
Take
the
Lead
in
Making
Friends
13.
The
“wronged
person”
underlined
in
the
passage
refers
to
a
person
____________.
A.
who
has
been
mistaken
for
another
B.
who
has
been
blamed
unfairly
C.
who
has
treated
friends
badly
D.
who
has
admitted
his
mistakes
14.
According
to
the
passage,
a
friendship
can
be
long
only
if
____________.
A.
we
have
much
in
common
B.
we
know
our
friends’
mistakes
C.
we
treat
our
disagreements
wisely
D.
we
have
known
one
another
her
desires
15.
What
should
we
do
if
we
follow
the
author’s
second
suggestion?
A.
Make
an
apology
first
B.
Avoid
making
mistakes.
C.
Stick
to
our
own
points
of
view.
D.
Change
our
lifestyles.

Compared
with
Mother’s
Day,
Father’s
Day
is
a
fairly
new
celebration
in
the
British
calendar.
In
reality,
Father’s
Day
was
first
celebrated
by
Americans,
inspired
by
the
actions
of
a
man
named
William
Smart,
a
veteran
of
the
US
Civil
War,
whose
wife
____21____
away
giving
birth
to
their
sixth
child.
He
raised
six
children
alone
without
remarrying,
which
was
undoubtedly
____22____
back
in
those
days.
His
daughter,
Sonora
Dodd,
____23____when
she
was
an
adult
what
her
father
had
sacrificed
for
his
children.
It
was
in
the
early
1900s
and
she
was
actually
____24____
one
day,
listening
to
a
sermon
on
___25___.
She
thought
there
should
also
be
a
Father’s
Day
celebration.
And
so
the
____26____
was
born,
on
the
third
Sunday
every
June,
close
to
the
anniversary
of
Sonora’s
father’s
death.
Britain
took
the
idea
of
Father’s
Day
from
the
American
celebration
and
it
has
been
celebrated
____27____
since
the
1970s.
Father’s
Day
is
never
quite
such
a
big
commercial
event
as
Mother’s
Day
is,
probably
because
it
hasn’t
been
in
____28____
for
so
long.
But
what
do
British
people
do
for
Father’s
Day?
Well,
most
people
would
buy
their
fathers
a
card.
The
card
would
probably
have
nice
message
in
it
____29____
what
a
great
Dad
their
father
is.
Some
people
do
buy
presents
as
well.
_____30_____
gifts
for
Dads
are
probably
ties,
chocolates
or
socks
because
there
are
things
that
Dads
can
_____31_____
use
even
if
they
don’t
want
them.
In
the
run-up
to
Father’s
Day,
or
indeed
Mother’s
Day,
there
will
be
advertisements
on
TV
giving
_____32_____ideas
of
CDs
or
gadgets
we
can
buy.
Card
shops
will
be
full
of
mugs
or
pens
and
similar
goods
with
“World’s
Greatest
Dad”_____33_____on
them.
Some
families
_____34_____
do
things
together
to
celebrate
Father’s
Day
like
going
for
a
meal.
As
a
special
treat,
British
people
might
give
their
Dad
a
bit
of
a
rest,
_____35_____
him
a
cup
of
tea,
or
even
wash
his
car
and
mow
the
lawn
to
make
him
feel

When
the

the
students
were
reminded
that
there
was
no
school
on
Monday—the
Labor
Day.
“Enjoy
your

the
teacher
to
her
class.
An
extra
day
of
fun
suited
Kayla
just
fine.
She
loved
breaks.
She
wanted
to
go
out
to
play
with
her
friends.
When
the
school
bus
dropped
Kayla
off,
she
ran
into
the
house
happily.
“How
was
school,
Kayla?”
asked
her
mom.
“It
was
great,
Mom.
I
am
excited
about
no

on
Monday.

“You

Already

asked
Kayla’s

with
a
laugh.
Kayla

Saturday
was
her

It

Kayla

her

Then
it

But
Kayla

He

she

to

this

just
a
bad

“Kayla,

today.

Kayla

her
parents,
“Are

“Yes,

One

more

ago,
I
entered
the
Track
Kitchen,
a
restaurant
where
everyone
from
the
humblest(卑微的)

for
breakfast.
I
noticed
an
empty

next
to
an
elderly,
unshaven

who
looked
somewhat
disheveled.
He
was
wearing
a
worn-out
hat
and
was
alone.
I
asked
if

him.

down
to
have
my
breakfast.
We
cautiously
began
a
conversation

introduced
ourselves.
I
was
concerned
that
he
might
have
no
money

not
be
able

afford
something

eat.
So
as
I
rose
to
go

buy
a

I
asked,
“May
I

him

more,

wished
him

met
one
of

“Who?”
“The

it.

buying,
offering
a

feeling
pity
for
one
of
the
world’s
richest
and
most
powerful

My
few
minutes
with
Mr.
Galbreath
changed
my
life.
Now
I
try
to
treat
everyone
with
respect,
no
matter
who
I
think
they
are,
and
no
matter
another

C
Women
are
friendly.But
men
are
more
competitive.Why?
Researchers
have
found
it's
all
down
to
the
hormone
oxytocin
(荷尔蒙催生素).Although
known
as
the
love
hormone,
it
affects
the
sexes
differently.
"Women
tend
to
be
social
in
their
behavior.They
often
share
with
others.But
men
lend
to
be
competitive.They
are
trying
to
improve
their
social
status,"
said
Professor
Ryan.
Generally,
people
believe
that
the
hormone
oxytocin
is
let
out
in
our
body
in
various
social
situations
and
our
body
creates
a
large
amount
of
it
during
positive
social
interactions
(互动)
such
as
falling
in
love
or
giving
birth.
But
in
a
previous
experiment
Professor
Ryan
found
that
the
hormone
is
also
let
out
in
our
body
during
negative
social
interactions
such
as
envy.
Further
researches
showed
that
in
men
the
hormone
oxytocin
improves
the
ability
to
recognize
competitive
relationships,
but
in
women
it
raises
the
ability
to
recognize
friendship.
Professor
Ryan's
recent
experiment
used
62
men
and
women
aged
20
to
37.Half
of
the
participants(参与者)received
oxytocin.The
other
half
received
placebo
(安慰剂).
After
a
week,
the
two
groups
switched
with
participants.They
went
through
the
same
procedure
with
the
other
material.
Following
each
treatment,
they
were
shown
some
video
pictures
with
different
social
interactions.Then
they
were
asked
to
analyze
the
relationships
by
answering
some
questions.The
questions
were
about
telling
friendship
from
competition.And
their
answers
should
be
based
on
gestures,
body
language
and
facial
expressions.
The
results
indicated
that,
after
treatment
with
oxytocin,
men's
ability
to
correctly
recognize
competitive
relationships
improved,
but
in
women
it
was
the
ability
to
correctly
recognize
friendship
that
got
better.
Professor
Ryan
thus
concluded:
"Our
experiment
proves
that
the
hormone
oxytocin
can
raise
people's
abilities
to
better
distinguish
different
social
interactions.And
the
behavior
differences
between
men
and
women
are
caused
by
biological
factors
(因素)
that
are
mainly
hormonal."

can
we
learn
from
Professor
Ryan's
previous
experiment?
A.
Oxytocin
affects
our
behavior
in

Our
body
lets
out
oxytocin
when
we
are
deep
in
love.
C.

feel
unhappy
about
others'
success.
D.
Oxytocin
improves
our
abilities
to
understand
people's
behavior
differences.
10.
Why
did
Professor
Ryan
conduct
the
recent
experiment?
A.
To
test

improved,
but
in
women
it
was
the
ability
to

【11题详解】
推理判断题。本文中举出了多个实验以及实验结构,表明作者是通过讨论研究实验结果来展开全文的,故选D。
D
When
asked
to
point
out
one
or
two
things
that
are
most
important
to
themselves,
many
put
friends
ahead
of
homes,
jobs,
clothes
and
cars.
A
true
friendship
carries
a
long
history
of
experience
that
determines
who
we
are
and
keeps
us
connected.
It
is
a
treasure
we
should
protect.
Unfortunately,
the
better
friends
you
are,
the
more
probably
you’ll
have
disagreements.
And
the
result
can
be
what
you
don’t
want

an
end
to
the
relationship.
The
good
news
is
that
most
troubled
friendships
can
be
mended.
First,
don’t
let
your
pride
get
in
your
way.
Most
of
us
can
forgive
each
other
when
differences
are
brought
out
in
the
open.
Second,
apologize
when
you’re
wrong

even
if
you’ve
been
wronged.
Over
the
course
of
a
friendship,
even
the
best
people
make
mistakes.
Sometimes,
it
may
be
best
if
the
wronged
person
takes
the
lead
and
apologizes.
When
you
apologize,
give
your
friend
a
chance
to
admit(承认)
that
he
has
been
wrong.
Third,
see
things
from
your
friend’s
point
of
view.
And
finally,
accept
that
friendships
change
as
our
needs
and
lifestyle
change.
Making
friends
can
sometimes
seem
easy.
The
hard
part
is
keeping
the
connections
strong
during
the
natural
ups
and
downs
that
have
an
effect
on
all
relationships.
My
suggestion:
consider
friendship
as
an
honor
and
a
gift,
and
worth
the
effort
to
treasure
and
nurture(培养).
12.
What
would
be
the
best

for
the
passage?
A.
Easy
Ways
to
Make
Friends
B.
Ups
and
Downs
in
Friendship
C.
How
to
Mend
a
Troubled
Friendship
D.
How
to
Take
the
Lead
in
Making
Friends
13.
The
“wronged
person”
underlined
in
the
passage
refers
to
a
person
____________.
A.
who
has
been
mistaken
for
another
B.
who
has
been
blamed
unfairly
C.
who
has
treated
friends
badly
D.
who
has
admitted
his
mistakes
14.
According
to
the
passage,
a
friendship
can
be
long
only
if
____________.
A.
we
have
much
in
common
B.
we
know
our
friends’
mistakes
C.
we
treat
our
disagreements
wisely
D.
we
have
known
one
another
her
desires
15.
What
should
we
do
if
we
follow
the
author’s
second
suggestion?
A.
Make
an
apology
first.
B.
Avoid
making
mistakes.
C.
Stick
to
our
own
points
of
view.
D.
Change
our

It
is
a
treasure
we
should
protect.第三段的具体做法,文章最后的总结?My
suggestion:
consider
friendship
as
an
honor
and
a
gift,
and
worth
the
effort
to
treasure
and
nurture(培养).可知,要保护友谊,明智的处理分歧,友谊才能长久,故选C。
【15题详解】
细节理解题。由第三段作者提的第二点建议Second,
apologize
when
you’re
wrong

even
if
you’ve
been
wronged.(当你错的时候要道歉——即使你被冤枉。)可知作者建议我们先道歉,故选A。
【点睛】猜测词义题:阅读材料中的每个词与它前后的词语或句子甚至段落都有联系,我们可以利用语境(各种已知信息)推测、判断某些生词的词义。做这种类型的题,要根据词、词组、句子所在的语境来判断其意义,因此熟练掌握一些猜词技巧是做好这类题的关键。我们要特别注意熟词生义,切不可脱离语境想当然。在句子或段落中,我们可以利用熟悉的词语,根据语言环境所表示的关系推断生词词义。特别注意划线上下句的内容,抓关键词。小题2由文中第三段语句理解apologize
when
you’re
wrong
----
even
if
you’ve
been
wronged.当你错的时候要道歉——即使你被冤枉。再根据后面一句When
you
apologize,
give
your
friend
a
chance
to
admit(承认)
that
he
has
been
wrong当你道歉的时候,要给你朋友一个改正错误的机会。可知作者建议“被冤枉的人”先道歉,给犯错的人承认的机会。故选B。

【解析】
【分析】本文是一篇新闻报道。文章报道了巴黎市长关于巴黎市区香榭丽舍大街改造工程的计划。
【36题详解】
考查时态。句意:巴黎市长说2.5亿欧元的香榭丽舍大街改造工程将会继续,尽管在法国首都举办2024年夏季奥运会之前,这一雄心勃勃的转变不会实现。根据从句的一般将来时时态will
not
happen,“香榭丽舍大街改造工程”是将来要继续进行,因此用一般将来时。故填will
go。
【37题详解】
考查形容词。句意:
巴黎市长说2.5亿欧元的香榭丽舍大街改造工程将会继续,尽管在法国首都举办2024年夏季奥运会之前,这一雄心勃勃的转变不会实现。修饰名词transformation,应用形容词形式;ambition是名词,形容词为ambitious。故填ambitious。
【38题详解】
考查连词。句意:巴黎市长说2.5亿欧元的香榭丽舍大街改造工程将会继续,尽管在法国首都举办2024年夏季奥运会之前,这一雄心勃勃的转变不会实现。根据句意,应是“在法国首都举办2024年夏季奥运会之前”这项改造工程不会进行,应用before引导时间状语从句;也可用until
引导时间状语从句,意思为“直到……才”。故填before
/
until。
【39题详解】
考查过去分词。句意:Anne
Hidalgo表示,这项计划好的工程于2019年由当地社区领导人和企业公布,将把巴黎市中心1.9公里长的区域变成“一个非凡的花园”。plan和所修饰词work之间为逻辑上的被动关系,因此用过去分词作定语。故填planned。
【40题详解】
考查冠词。句意:Anne
Hidalgo表示,这项计划好的工程于2019年由当地社区领导人和企业公布,将把巴黎市中心1.9公里长的区域变成“一个非凡的花园”。此处用不定冠词an表泛指,意思为“一个”;extraordinary的发音以元音音素开头,应用不定冠词an。故填an。
【41题详解】
考查动名词。句意:这些计划包括减少一半的车辆空间,将道路变成行人区和绿地,以及创建树木隧道以改善空气质量。and是并列连词,此处连接三个并列的动名词形式;根据turning
…and
creating…,reduce应用动名词形式,作include的宾语。故填reducing。
【42题详解】
考查介词。句意:这些计划包括减少一半的车辆空间,将道路变成行人区和绿地,以及创建树木隧道以改善空气质量。此处是短语
turn…
into“把……变成”故填into。
【43题详解】
考查不定式。句意:这些计划包括减少一半的车辆空间,将道路变成行人区和绿地,以及创建树木隧道以改善空气质量。此处用不定式作目的状语,意思为“为了改善……”。故填to
improve。
【44题详解】
考查时态和语态。句意:“这条八车道的高速公路平均每小时有3000辆车行驶,多数是通过,比繁忙的巴黎环城公路污染更严重”他补充道。句子是叙述客观事实,应用一般现在时;the
eight-lane
highway
和use之间是逻辑上的被动关系,应该用一般现在时的被动语态。故填is
used。
【45题详解】
考查比较级。句意:“这条八车道的高速公路平均每小时有3000辆车行驶,多数是通过,比繁忙的巴黎环城公路污染更严重”他补充道。分析句子结构,该空作is后的表语,用形容词,根据than可知,此处意思为“污染更严重”,用比较级。故填more
polluted。

【分析】这是一篇读后续写作文。
【详解】通过阅读所给文章可知,文章主要记叙了本来以为劳动节放假可以休息的Kayla,早上被爸爸吵醒,告诉她为了庆祝劳动节,全家会打扫屋子内外。Kayla不明白,父亲告诉她这么做是为了让她明白劳动节的由来。
续写部分分为两段,第一段开头是:一开始,Kayla对父母的假期计划感到失望。所以后文应该是讲述Kayla内心对这个计划的看法,她虽然反对,但是也别无选择。讲述了Kayla做家务的经过。第二段开头是:但随着她开始做家务,情况开始发生变化。本段应该写Kayla在做家务过程中的感受,她发现了做家务的乐趣,觉得做家务有意义。
最后还要注意所续写短文的词数应为150左右。
【点睛】本文描写详略得当,使用了高级词汇和高级句子。如:play
