Step1. Lead-in
Ask students two questions and show Ss the eight directions.
Step2. Presentation
1. Show pictures to students to talk about where the places are.
2. Show the map of China to describe where the cities are.
3. Practise using directions by talking about the cities.
Step3. Practice
1. Ask students to find the places in Part A on P43.
2. Talk about the transport to different places on PPT.
3. Practice the dialogue in Part B on P43 and make a similar dialogue.
4. Listen to the tape and answer the questions, then act the dialogue out.
Step4. Comic strip
1.Listen to the dialogue and answer some questions.
2.Practice in pairs and try to act it out.
Step5. Study skills
1. Learn about the falling tone and the rising tone.
2. Practice reading the dialogue with correct tones in pairs on P51.
Step6. Homework
Finish off the teaching and learning paper.
