Ⅲ.阅读理解(20分)
A
Can
plants
eat
people?
Probably
not,
but
there
are
many
plants
that
eat
meat.
Some
of
them
are
big.
And
they
can
eat
small
animals.
One
famous
meat-eating-
plant
is
Venus
flytrap(捕蝇草)
The
Venus
flytrap
is
a
very
strange
plant.
It
grows
in
dry
parts
of
the
United
States.
Its
leaves
are
like
pages
of
book.
They
can
open
and
close
very
quickly.
Inside
the
leaves,
there
are
three
small
hairs.
If
fly
touches
one
of
the
hairs,
the
leaf
closes
quickly,
so
the
fly
cannot
get
out.
In
about
half
an
hour,
the
leaf
presses
the
fly
until
it
is
dead.
Then,
the
plant
covers
the
fly
and
slowly
eats
it.
Why
do
plants
do
that?
Most
plants
get
what
they
need
from
the
sun,
the
air,
and
the
ground.
In
some
places,
the
ground
is
very
poor.
It
doesn't
have
all
these
important
things,
especially
nitrogen(氮).
Animal
meat
has
a
lot
of
nitrogen,
so
some
plants
eat
meat
to
get
what
they
need.
Let's
hope
that
bigger
plants
don't
get
the
same
idea.

)26.
The
Venus
flytrap
is
kind
of___________.
A.plant
B.animal
C.food
D.meat

)27.
The
Venus
flytrap
grows

A.
most
parts
of
the
world
B.
parts
of
Africa
C.
dry
parts
of
the
United
States
D.
wet
parts
of
England

)28.
From
the
passage,
we
learn
that___________.
A.
all
plants
can
eat
people
B.
all
plants
can
eat
animals
C.
some
plants
can
eat
people
D.
some
plants
can
eat
animals

)29.

"presses"probably
means”
in

A.挤压
B.关上
C.打开
D.松开

)30.
Why
do
some
plants
eat
animal
meat?
Because___________.
A.
plants
are
dangerous
to
animals
B.
animals
are
dangerous
to
plants
C.
plants
want
to
get
what
they
need
from
animal
meat
D.
plants
want
to
protect
themselves
against
animals
B
The
long
trunk
of
an
elephant
is
a
wonderful
example
of
skill.
The
neck
of
four-footed
animals
is
usually
long,
to
have
them
reach
their
food
without
difficulty.
But
the
elephant
has
a
short
neck,
to
make
him
more
easily
support
the
weight
of
his
huge
head
and
heavy
teeth.
His
long
trunk
lets
him
get
his
food
easily.
The
trunk
of
an
elephant
is
to
him
what
the
neck
is
to
other
animals.
It
is
also
a
nose
to
him,
for
at
the
end
of
it
there
is
an
empty
place
like
a
cup,
and
in
the
bottom
of
the
cup
are
two
holes,
and
the
animal
smells
and
breathes
through
them.
It
is
an
arm
and
a
hand
too,
so
that
it
has
been
said
that
the
elephant
carries
his
nose
in
his
hand,
and
it
might
also
have
been
said
that
he
breathes
by
his
hand.
At
the
end
of
the
trunk,
there
is
strange
part,
about
five
inches
long,
which
forms
a
finger.
With
this
finger
the
animal
can
pick
up
the
smallest
piece
of
money
from
the
ground,
and
he
has
been
taught
to
make
marks
like
letters
with
a
pen.
The
trunk
of
a
full-grown
elephant
is
about
eight
feet
long.
The
elephant
has
such
great
strength
that
he
can
knock
down
a
man
with
it.

)31.
The
elephant
has
short
neck
to
support____________.
A.
his
leg
B.
his
body
C.
his
arm
D.
his
head
and
teeth

)32.
The
trunk
of
the
elephant
helps
him
get
his____________.
A.
side
easily.
B.
tail
C.food
D.
ear

)33.
The
trunk
of
the
elephant
takes
the
place
of
the
following
except____________.
A.
a
neck
B.
a
nose
and
a
finger
C.
an
arm
and
a
hand
D.
a
leg

)34.
The
elephant
smells
through
two
holes____________.
A.
in
the
bottom
of
the
cup
B.
at
the
beginning
of
the
trunk
C.
in
his
head
D.
in
his
face

)35.
The
elephant
can
knock
down
a
man
with
his
trunk.
This
shows
that
he
is__________.
A.
weak
B.
strong
C.
quiet
D.
angry
